I'm sure there are going to be plenty of these as we learn more stuff, but just looking at the minimal info we have right now...what do you speculate for the upcoming games? Remember this is a thread for
what you think we might see, not what you want to see. The thread for that is over here (http://pkmn.net/forums/index.php?topic=105562.0)
Right now, we know that the games will be straight remakes of R/S (whatever the extent of that is) and that Kyogre and Groudon on the box are not what they seem (Heavily implied to be Mega Evolutions) and of course we have the names 'Omega' and 'Alpha'. A few things you might wanna think about to get the cogs moving:
- How much do you think OR/AS are going to stick to the original R/S plot?
- What do you think the significance of Omega and Alpha is? (If any)
- How will these new forms/evolutions of Groudon and Kyogre tie into the original R/S storyline with Team Aqua and Magma?
- Do you think the history of peripherals with remakes (Pokewalker/E-reader/Wireless Link) will give us a new gadget this time?
- Do you expect tie-ins with X/Y anywhere?
One thing I've been thinking about is whether or not the Strange Souvenir from the backpacker in the Lumiose Hotel will have some sort of connection to a Sevii Islands-ish extra region. Hoenn is fairly tropical so kind of fits the motif of having some kind of Easter Island type area somewhere nearby.
I think that for Groudon and Kyogre's "mega evolutions":
- They'll be much more influential, as they'll now have capabilities to flood the entire world, or turn all ocean into land.
- Kyogre's Special Attack stat may reach 190/200 and Groudon's attack might hit 190/200, whilst both could hit 100 base speed with +30 in each defense stat.
- It'll be very similar to RS plotwise, with you having to explore the region and defeating the version-exclusive team / legendary.
Omega and Alpha could tie in to Beta or Gamma, when you consider Rayquaza might fall in line with the "mega evolution that is really new markings" treatment.
Apart from the plot, the region might be a few years after R/S happened with the Teams resurging (hahah Team Aqua). So New Mauville could be the main town because something happened to Old Mauville...
We might have another switch-around in terms of the Water Gym Leader, but I do hope Wallace stays stuck in that gym and Stone gets the champion spot.
As you said, I expect the strange souvenir to fit in, and maybe Lati@sites will exist on Southern Island (possibly requiring a ticket to get them?). Possibly, they might be fightable on SI and they could be coded to Mega Evolve on Turn 1?
More legends will probably feature, the Regi trio might come in but with Regigigas available again. I could see Tornadus / Thundurus being roamers, and it could be possible to get Heatran again. Otherwise, who knows? Don't forget Mew though!
That's all for now, sorry for the massive amount of stuff!
I believe the creation trio will be available as:
FRLG had Navel Rock to catch Ho-oh and Lugia
And
HGSS had embedded tower to catch Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza.
Plus DPG haven't been catchable since gen IV, so they kinda need another appearance.

As long as yet again the Legendary Birds do not appear AGAIN, I am fine.
I was thinking... will event islands be events again... or available from day one? Because getting a Latiosite or a Latiasite in that island would make perfect sense to me, as well as a time-spacial bounch of Pokémon within the domains of the Mirage Island.
Also, Latiosite = real mixed Latios (lurer, although I guess this set will become popular and players will not tend to bring Heatran in front of him anymore).
EDIT: I remember that in the Mossdeep Space Center there was some scientist talking about meteors. Event Deoxys?
Regigigas is most likely to be catchable. It IS tied to the other Regis after all and every game it is in requires you to catch the first three before it wakes up. I hope Rock Climb returns!

Maybe it'll be that they have returned from a space mission and found a meteor that changes Deoxys' forme?
I think it's more than likely that the games may stick closer to the Emerald storyline than RS, like HGSS did. Though there's definitely gonna be more content than that. Hopefully Rayquaza qill get some latin mega too.
I think the 'alpha' and 'omega' being the first and last letters of the Latin alphabet are clear references to the whole theme of RSE being about beginning and ends, like the cave of origin/mt pyre though they may play on that even further now.
Ooh the peripheral thing.. I was thinking about that but what could they add to the 3DS?
And I'm sure there'll be some XY references. We'll probably get a visit from Alexa or something whilst she's researching a story.
There's probably gonna be legendaries but I really don't know which ones - and I agree, no more birds please
I'm looking forward to revamped secret bases and the there'll probably be some new area, not sure if it will be as vast as the Sevii Islands.
And I really want to see the Emerald battle frontier ;D
I thought I'd post this here since this is the only speculation thread about future games haha okay:
I was thinking about mega evolutions and how some of them are 'X' and some are 'Y' and I wondered how they might incorporate those names into future games and I thought maybe they might change the mechanic so they're actually called like that because X mega stones would only work on males and Y might only work on females (because chromosomes) in future - I always felt like version exclusive stones were a ridiculous idea and I was wondering what they might do about it in OR/AS
idk if this even makes sense to anyone else

Can you imagine the breeding though? Imagine finally hatching that perfect 31/31/31/x/31/31 adamant Charmander only to find that it's female. I hope in the future that the split in megastone distribution will be a little more sensible but I'm not holding my breath.

To support this further, was I the only one who thought it was a little odd that the creation trio's orbs were in Zygarde's chamber, despite really having nothing to do with Zygarde? I mean, they could have been anywhere else in the cave, or maybe a different room on their own, but they were in Zygarde's chamber, so they would be pretty hard to miss if you went there to catch Zygarde. Why would they make these items so easy to find if they were for pokemon you had to transfer up twice? Also, there's Drasna, who mentions being inspired to become a dragon trainer because of stories of the pokemon of time and space, so foreshadowing maybe? Also, it'd be kinda cool if she showed up during this theoretical event where you get them, or triggered it or something.
As for other legendaries, well Latios and Latias are almost guaranteed. I hope we get their mega stones. I kinda hope we will be able to get gen III's event pokemon without an event, but they'll likely be in there in some way. And, let's face it, the birds are likely, though I hope I'm wrong. Other then that, I'm not really sure, but I hope they put in a lot of legendaries, like in HGSS. I was sort of disappointed by the small amount of legendaries in X and Y.
yeah I added pretty much nothing...

Or even some super epic event where we get Drasna, Lance, Claire, Drake, Iris and Drayden meet up and like, do something cool. That'd be pretty neat, but at this point it's not even speculation, just dreams.
ahhh

Is it really any different to version exclusive pokémon though? It's supposed to be a variation on the same world, so there's no reason that the same mega stones should occur.
I also think that the mega groudon/kyogre abilities will bring back infinite weather
Cynthia will probably turn up at some point because she does that.
also MEGA FUSION REGI!!

It's a nice theory but Masuda said that X/Y were actually supposed to represent X and Y axis rather than chromosomes but who knows if that isn't just a red herring for something we've yet to discover in a future game. Literally naming a Pokemon after the version of the game seems more like TCG thing than a main-series game thing.
Pokemon following you again anyone?
As ruby and saphire introduced double batles it would be nice to see the champion was steven and wallace but only when you battled the champion again that it would be one or the other depending on which game you bought

Is there really any evidence to suggest this might be included? I mean, I'd like it...but I don't see it happening until Gen 7 at least.
^Not 'evidence' at all, but a theory - They didn't include walking in the trailer thing, could that possibly be because walking would reveal something? Like following pokemon?
A little unlikely, but I guess it explains why the NowTV trailer was so... Meh.
Well, I honestly thought they'd keep it in xy - wouldn't be TOO difficult to port the 3D models into the overworld, considering you can see Pokémon like Espurr, Furfrou, Litleo and that small bird I can't remember the name of outside in areas like the Daycare and in random places in Lumiose. Considering all the extra work that went into the overworld sprites in HGSS (unless they just ported in the ones from PMD), it wouldn't take much besides coding them to be the right size and all, would it? :S

I'd wager that the overworld models of pokemon are as different from the ones in battle as the overworld sprites in older games and their in battle sprites. Maybe not coding, but modeling would be a pain.

I'd wager that they're the same. Why would they create two models for the few Pokémon who are viewed in the overworld? The only ones they DO show are "human" sized or smaller, meaning they wouldn't have to factor in size or anything much. The 3D models would be the same cause there are little differences, and if you go look at them in Lumiose and the Daycare, they're literally just the battle models
I think it's definitely possible that the feature could happen. There's more than enough space on the 3DS carts and there are indeed a handful of overworld sprites already made (with pretty simple animations if you study them) but I personally just don't think we'll see it for a while. I always thought of it as a feature designed to encourage people to use the Pokewalker so there was some continuity between the game itself and the element of walking around with your Pokemon in the Pokewalker. The next Generation Pokemon game probably won't come out on a new console so I think they'll pull out all the stops and try and include as much from previous DS games before we eventually move on to new hardware.
In regards to the whole pokemon-following you thing, I would love to see that again, although I agree that it probably would involve different models or coding and considering this is only the second set of main 3DS games I doubt it will happen. Maybe they could do something along the lines of Amity Square as a starting point though.
And I'm looking forward to the return of Pokemon Contests! The Hoenn ones were better than the Sinnoh super contests and the Gen 5 musical thing just seemed a bit pointless to me. I wanna make some pokeblocks too!
Well, here's food for thought:
"A new trademark has been discovered as being registered by Nintendo, GameFreak and Creatures Inc. in Japan. This trademark is for デルタエメラルド Delta Emerald. In addition to this, in the US, at the same time as the Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire domains were registered, one was registered for Pokémon Delta Emerald. This trademark registration is not likely to be indicative of a game release, but rather covering bases in a similar manner to the registration of Pokémon Water Blue back in 2004 and numerous other Pokémon names over the past 10 years including Pokémon Grey."
Possible third remake, anyone?
(probably the wrong thread, but hey it counts as speculation)
^ it'd be cool but i doubt it tbh. I don't see why (apart from money lol) it would be feasible to remake a remake!
i hope they re-introduce the following pokemon thing, although a small feature it was so cute. I liked getting the photographer to take pictures of your team and going through them to see how it had changed.
Another thing I hope they scrap is the feebas thing, I never caught a legit feebas back in the day it was far too tedious -_- maybe if they give you more than 6 tiles it might be slightly better!

Urgh I couldn't stand the feebas-only-on-6-tiles thing. I did manage to get one eventually but the amount of effort it took hardly seemed worth it.

Ugh, I know the feeling. I never found a feebas before gen 5... actually, I didn't know how easy it was to find them in gen 5 until my friend (who never played Pokemon before b2/w2) fished one up, which I was amazed at and was about to congratulate her, and then she hit 'run'.
There's a sort of sadistic part of me that wants the six tile thing to be in the new game just so she'll know what it's like, haha. But it's only a small part.
Well who knows, the RPG series has become an annual entry series since either HGSS or Platinum. Maybe a 3rd version for both the current entries and remake might be their way of releasing another game every year till the 7th gen.
Then again, they did register "Sea Blue" back around FRLG, so it might just be saving the trademarks for themselves and whatnot....
I never even bothered finding feebas in Black and white or in gen 3. I went right for the milotic, it took a month.
Awh man imagine if, depending on which version you get, Kyrogue or Groudon would occasionally drain riverbeds or flood paths.
Obviously it could be a massive hindrance but it would be neat to see how powerful they are. Actually, I think this happens during the story line? There's a cave and loads of magicarp are just flopping about because the river has been drained.
are you thinking of DPPt when Galactic blew up the lake?
That might be it! It was a pretty cool moment though.
looks like Sceptile and Swampert are indeed getting mega evos! Diancie appears to be getting one too meaning we will be able to catch it fairly soon - all according to CoroCoro scans on other websites c:
Sceptile is Grass / ElectricI MEAN DRAGON and gets Lightningrod.
Swampert is Water / Ground with Swift Swim.
Diancie's Mega, however, has a ??? ability...new ability, possibly. Still keeps the Rock / Fairy typing too.
Looks like Team Aqua are more pirate-ish than before...
May is more...I dare not say, whilst Brendan looks...a little high.
Mega sceptile is a dream come true!
Grass Dragon and lightningrod ability avoids thunderwave+boost in spa which is what he needs
so pumped
....I love mega Sceptile, but I don't understand lightning rod xD it's awesome, but... What?
Mega Swampert scares me xD
Diancie was p. much Mega Carbink, so that makes Mega Diancie Mega Mega Carbink?
Nah, but I think Diancie will have something like the rumoured 'impractical' that Hoopa was supposed to have?
also whilst i do like the designs for our heroes i'll be miffed is there's no customisation cause i loved that
I don't like mega swampert yet, but I think it will grow on me. I like mega sceptile, but not enough to evolve my Grovyle.
Can any Hoenn experts figure out where Steven is and what that means for whether he's champion or not?
Also Primal Groudon/Kyogre sounds cool.
i hate mega swampert so i guess im getting torchic or treeko this time. sigh.

MegaSwampert is like: "Do you even lift!". I have big hopes on this one, since it works wonders in any weather (bar Hail). A new form of combat for it would make strategies around it even more unpredictable, and I like this.
MegaSceptile was
already a Dragon (in the Egg Group). But please, give it DECENT Spacial Attack and Decent Moves.
Diancie is the new waifu!

I wonder - might they give us Gen II or IV starters like they gave us gen I ones in XY? It'd be the perfect opportunity to add more mega-starters, and we haven't had those starters since gen IV, so it'd be quite nice to have. No real basis for this other than it was in XY, but I don't think it's entirely unlikely. Maybe a gift from Mr Stone?

Look at those FISTS, man. If I had to have one pokemon to back me up in a fight, it would be Mega-Swampert, any day of the week. You guys can keep all of your Arceus/Giritina/Blaziken or whatever, I want THIS GUY right here.
Speaking of Legendary Pokemon, it looks like it's confirmed that the box art of Groudon and Kyogre are a special form of mega-evolution called (oxymoronically) Primal Evolution. I hoped they would look a little more different, but they do look pretty damn awesome nonetheless.
Whoa, shoot... Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire were released here in 2003 and that's given Swampert 13 years to make some gains.
Damn, I thought I was going to pick Treecko.
Sceptile looks a tiny bit like a green batman.
You know what would be pretty cool? If like in Emerald you have to call on Rayquaza to sort our our fighting Land and Sea Legendaries and we get that awesome cutscene in Emerald recreated in 3D (3D, 3D Models, you know...) and made even all the more epic if like Groudon and Kyogre, Ray Mega Evolves/Devolve prehistoric/whatever to take on those chaps.
Yeah, most likely Groudon and Kyogre are version exclusive, but one on one would still be epic enough... X3
I don't think mega scepy will get much gains in spa because of lightning rod but maybe an attack boost.
Though mega swampert looks scary. It looks bulkier and slower (i think they will take away some speed points for swift swim) but major attack and defence gains. Like major.
Heard some debate on other forums about whether or not Primal Groudon / Kyogre will be playable, but I've noticed something that proves either you can, or another trainer has it:
Notice the battle scenes? They both display pokéballs under the opponents health bar, meaning it's a trainer battle. This means, on one side or the other, primal Groudon / Kyogre will be in trainer battles, but the question remains which side? I believe players WILL be able to use it, it'd be dumb not to, but will Maxie / Archie, like Ghetsis & N, use a legendary? Just food for thought, I think that photo just shows the player using it, but it could be that it's the enemie's

No, it can't, unless the opposing legendary is owned by a trainer. Note the pokéballs under the opponents health bar? That means they're a trainer, not wild.
Although, it appears they only have three pokemon, so I somewhat doubt that would be the final battle against Archie / Maxie, so I guess it is just the player using it
Perhaps it is like N and Black, and you use the opposite legendary to the version you have?

it looks like they're standing in specific environments for a legendary battle. I seem to remember Archie and Maxie not having many pokemon, and Lysandere definately had like 3, so it could be a battle against the leaders
Looking at the map, I'm pretty sure they're doing the old 'cover-places-with-clouds' trick that they enjoy so much.
The clouds in the south east is the strongest evidence - I'm sure this is where the Battle Frontier should be.

Yeah, that's odd, it's kinda near Aqua / Magma HQ too, which is interesting
Perhaps that is where the showdown between the player and/or the opposite Team leader takes place with Kyogre and Groudon.
Anyone else notice how it looks like there is an Unown type symbol on the Hoenn map? It is on the right side near what appears to be a tower of some sort.

yoooooo mega sableyeeeeeeeeee represent
It looks kinda cowardly because it's hiding behind the massive gem but it also looks kinda cheeky and sinister. Either way it's one of my favourite mega pokemon so far (some of them are pretty stupid looking)
Maybe Mega Sableye will get a new Ability where the gem acts like a shield and Mega Sableye can fire beams through it which in turn get magnified and attacks all of the opponent's Pokemon on the field. And has no one else noticed how it looks like there is an Unown type symbol on the map?
I think I know what you mean, but it just looks like an island to me. It's not shaped like any letter in particular anyway.
^It sort of looks like an X. Maybe it's coincidence but it COULD be a place where Unown are found as well. The Braille writing may have been replaced by Unown letters.
Where is this unown island? Is it the one sort of between Sootopolis and Ever Grande City?
I just read about Mega Sableye on another site.
The Pokémon Company International has just uploaded a new trailer that features a brand new Mega Evolution, Mega Sableye has been revealed at the Nintendo's Kids Conference at E3 today in Los Angeles. It is said that Mega Sableye uses the jewel as a powerful defensive tool in battle. From behind the shelter of the jewel, it can readily exploit the opponent's weaknesses and take advantage of any openings. It is said that the jewel hardens into such strength that no attack can even make a scratch!
That last line there gives me the impression that Mega Sableye's ability is Wonder Guard.
Considering that Fairy is the only type to be able to hit it if that were the case, Sableye will be way overpowered.
Everyone had better get a Fairy type on their competitive team or you might be in a bit of trouble against it!
Where does that giant gem actually come from when it Mega evolves anyway?
^I think I heard the gem is from the one on normal Sableye's stomach.
I think it's funny that all its gems have turned into rubies when it was a sapphire exclusive before.

Looked like new signature moves for Primal Groudon and Kyogre, and I'll bet Kyogres works like freeze dry. Why? Well, it was used on Swampert, so as Groudons is presumably ground (SE on Blaziken), kyogre's will presumably be SE on Swampert, making it either grass type or freeze dry-esque. Not sure exactly how it'd work, as 'water that's SE on water' wouldn't make much sense, but maybe they ignore resists? Idk, I'll just bet that it'll be SE on water/ground somehow
^About Freeze Dry, it makes sense why it'd be SE on Water types. The move description says it all. The user blows air so cold even water freezes and becomes solid. Plus the four known Pokemon to learn the move by level up all are said to be able to produce extremely cold winds that rival the Antarctic.

Yeah, I know freeze dry makes sense, I was saying that a water type equivalent would struggle to make sense but I think they must've found someway to work it
I think the Braille writing will be replaced by the Unown. I mean they haven't been around since Gen 4 and the Braille dots were too hard to figure out in my opinion. I kept getting confused trying to memorize each dotted symbols that I just ended up giving up translating the messages and took wild guesses as to what I was supposed to do. I mean it's so hard to memorize 26 letters made up of 6 dots and THEN punctuation marks in Braille on top of that!
I think Sableye will get Huge Power for defence
Mawile just gained the only type super effective on it, and went offensive oriented. Sableye needs a similar boost, and so this could be acheived by giving it mega Mawiles stats but with double defence > Double attack which would turn it into an amazing physical wall

Sometimes I feel like the only one who had the braille code written at the back of the instruction manual.

To be honest, that would make a lot of sense. However, if sableye got Huge Power, it would have to be faster or the ability wouldn't work because your attack goes back to normal if not at full health. Also, if they gave it prankster, that would make it a better mega banette imo. So the makers have options to toy with.

...Huge power works when not at full health, you know? Otherwise how would BellyJet Azumarill work?
Still, mega banette has a few distinct advantages over it, such as access to destiny bond and a usable attack stat (165, Sableye would need a 90 point boost to reach that xD)

unsure if it's real or not, but look at all the new megas we (might) be getting!
^I think it MAY be as the Lais are there and they were hidden as Megas in XY and so is Sableye.

Oh boy, Mega Metagross....
^More like Megagross
Why are all the red things yellow?
I'm not convinced tbh, but in fairness all of the suggested megas there sound like they make sense, being in pairs (shiftry/ludi, camerupt/sharpedo)
Quote from pokemon website:
QuoteAnd it appears that its Ability might get a boost! Look forward to more details about the power hidden within Primal Groudon!
Infinite Drought, anyone?
I found this after googling primal groudon:
QuoteGroudon and Kyogre also seek to continue their epic struggle. Thanks to a new phenomenon known as Primal Reversion, the two great legendary Pokémon have reclaimed their original power from nature and are much stronger than before. Like Mega Evolution, Primal Reversion is a recent phenomenon in the Pokémon world. There may be a connection between the two, but various Pokémon Professors are still working that out.
The Primal versions of both Groudon and Kyogre are much larger than their normal form, with Primal Kyogre reaching at least twice the normal size. The reversion also gives both Pokémon some new abilities. Primal Groudon will receive a massive attack boost and gain the Fire type in addition to its normal Ground type. Primal Kyogre will see a similar increase in its special attack and might have a boost in its normal ability that's yet to be confirmed.
The text before this was going on about there being new mega stones with no actual details, but they will be part of the storyline so it should be more like Kanto in the GSC games where the towns will probably be updated with new things.

Yeah, I was thinking it looked likely too, it's just nice to see some backstory backing the thought up
Wondereye and Thick fur-eye aren't happening. He's getting Magic Bounce according to the official site, and will recieve boosts in special attack and physical defense.
I was so hoping for wondereye, but I guess this makes a bit more sense and is a little less broken.

Magic Bounce? With immunities, a decent defence and Prankster as the Other Ability?
Delicious_Scout approves this shenaniganmon.
I was iffy at first, but this could be good. We don't have a good defensive Magic Bouncer, so here's hoping M-Sableye will fit as our first. It's a shame they're not focusing on both defenses though. Sableye would have much preferred Attack and Sp. Defense, given that it likes Knock Off and has Will-o-Wisp to buff Defense. Ah well, we'll see what they do with the stats, but I'm on board with the concept.

SB2K also approves. Magic Bounce would be awesome for it, and it wouldn't need taunt as much now.
Mega Sableyes ability is disappointing tbh, I definitely don't think it'll see a huge amount of use in OU. Will be a nice addition to UU though, and only being weak to the rare fairy type is very useful, I just don't think 480 BST with no item slot is going to cut it in OU, especially given it no longer has prankster, and it isn't overly bulky given it WILL have 50 base HP, and I'd assume (given it's said to have a big boost to Defence and SpA and a drop in speed) it's base stats will look like 50/85/115/105/85/40, which isn't brilliant with no item =/
Still confused as to why it's getting a large SpA boost when it's attack is already higher AND it's more useful 0_o
Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Power Gem, Dazzling Gleam and Psychic is not too bad of a special movepool, considering the only attacks Sableye is likely to currently use are Knock Off, Foul Play and Night Shade, only the first of which actually uses Sableye's Attack stat. There is definitely a possibility for a more offensive set with the new Mega Evolution.
Possibly late to the party here, but I've just had it pointed out to me that NEW AND IMPROVED!! Steven has a little Mega Stone pinned to his lapel! What pokemon could it be for? I guess Mega Aggron would be the obvious choice, or maybe it's for something else! I know a lot of people are hoping for Mega Metagross.
I want something a bit more random like Mega Claydol lol.
He has a Mega Charizard, in fact.
^I don't think that's going to be a part of his team when you face him as a Champion, though. From what little ANY of us know at this point, the Mega Charizard could just be in his possession to showcase Mega Evolution to new players. At least, that's what I assume.
Still, any Mega Evolution makes thematic sense, considering Steven loves rocks, stones, fossils, dirt, etc., and said love seems to override (and/or be on par with) his claim that he's a "Steel-type" trainer.
^Steven's Mega will most likely be Metagross since it was hinted that it would get one from the one announcement poster.
Well I was pretty sure the corocoro last time round said he had a Mega Charizard...oh well.
^Maybe in a rematch he'll have a Charizard. But which one? That is the problem with this speculation and think with us being teased that Metagross will get a Mega, that is going to be in Steven's first Champion battle with you. Metagross IS Steven's signature Pokemon after all. He has even said it was his favorite Pokemon in RSE and HGSS.

Something else to add to this is that, like Kalos Champion, he gives you his signature pokemones prevolution, so that would be the perfect method to give you the Metagrossite, as it's also how you get gardevoirite

That was my point exactly.
Maybe there will be a Rayquaza who will calm down the primal Kyogre and primal Groudon who are fighting.
Like back in Pokémon Emerald.
And maybe you could battle the Kyogre against Groudon that is controlled by Steven, or the opposite.

Besides, I doubt that there would be one. Maybe OR/AS will have that Rayquaza comes over to Sootopolis City and mediates between primal Groudon and Kyogre?
But surely if Rayquaza has to calm them down, he would need to be Primal too. Are Primal Kyogre and Groudon really gonna listen to some average Rayquaza? Na v_v

That makes sense since some elements of Crystal were incorporated into HeartGold and SoulSilver.
^I was pretty much thinking the same thing. I believe that the Safari Zone will have its expansion, Liza and Tate would have at least two more Pokemon on their team, the Space Center is hijacked by each version's team, and the Battle Frontier will make another appearance.
Another reason is that OR/AS will need to fill the role of the "third game", such as including move tutors and a Battle Frontier or similar.
I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but I've just had a thought. At the end of Emerald, once you filled the Hoenn Pokedex, you were offered a choice of one of the three Johto starters. At the time, this was because they were only possible to obtain via breeding Colosseum's Johto Pokemon, and not everyone had access to the game and GCN <-> GBA Link Cable.
However, there's another reason for them to bring this back in OR/AS... they could give them with their Hidden Ability! Only Johto and Unova starters currently lack their HA's, of the starter Pokemon, and this would be an easy way to give them their HA.
Unlikely, sure, but it would be pretty neat if they did.
^You maybe right! And we may also get the Sinnoh starters as well if the games follow the pattern HGSS did. I've noticed this is how the remakes have been doing this as a trend. FRLG gave you only the Kanto starters but back then there were only three gens and Emerald helped players get the remaining Pokemon not found in either RSE or FRLG. HGSS gave you the Johto starters of course but also the Kanto and Hoenn ones as well. So it'd make sense that ORAS would give you the Hoenn, Johto, Sinnoh, and Unova ones as well. The Sinnoh starters are hard to come by without transferring or breeding for one and not everyone got to do the promo to get the HA Sinnoh starters. I know I didn't because when the promo was announced, I had already purchased both BW games and didn't want to buy another copy just to get a Sinnoh starter.
I was thinking, you know in the recent Pokémon games where the antagonists controlled a legendary Pokémon? Perhaps Team Magma and Team Aqua will summon and control Groudon and Kyogre respectively, then you have to find and wake up Rayquaza to put an end to them (gotta have to be Primal Rayquaza).

Also guys, the Japanese call OR/AS as ΩR/αS. Why not we start using this instead- oh wait, we don't have such letters on the keyboard.
The entirety of the Suicune plot was ripped from Crystal, as was Eusine's presence (wasn't even a character to be found in G/S), mostly. I'm sure some Gym Leader rosters were changed in Crystal that were probably carried over to HGSS as well.

Hey, Eusine called.
Aside from that, the implementation of both Kanto and Johto stands out as another element from Crystal.
Gold and Silver had Kanto as well, so it's not so much an element of Crystal as it is just a thing all Johto games have had.
Crystal also had the first version of the Battle Tower and the Platinum Battle Frontier was put in the exact same spot the Battle Tower was in Crystal. Other implements from Crystal found in HGSS are Buena's Password (surprised no one mentioned it yet) and Suicune not being randomly found in the wild and fleeing like in GS.

your source is probably everyone else's source
I think there'll be two mega evolutionss for Rayquaza I suppose, one with 180-200 attack and the other with the same for SAtk and then different stat boosts corresponding to Kyogre / Groudon.
