Title: So, transferring alters EVs?
Post by: Ledyba on May 16, 2014, 19:42
I'm a bit lazy when EV training sweepers &  usually do 255/255 instead of 252/252/6 for an extra stat point,  so I noticed when trasferring my Heracross in the said manner & going to Super training that it wasn't fully trained & had attack & speed maxed out,  did a bit of HP and yay fully EV trained.

Am I right in thinking stats are maxed out at 252 rather then 255?  if so that is so useful.

Yes, they now max at 252.

I know that when EV training in XY it won't let you go past 252 anymore, had no idea it corrected old ones though. These little things make me happy.

You can go to 255, that's when EV's are capped. However, it's a waste, because every 4 EV's in a stat raises the stat by one (I think) at level 100. So 252 is generally considered the cap.

252 is the cap in X/Y, not 255. 255 was the cap in previous games, but has been lowered for X/Y.

Well, looks like my mind is still in gen 5. Ignore what I said.
