In a bizarre and unexpected twist, two generation 1 Pokemon have been revealed to Mega Evolve in OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire, along with the Latios and Latias Megas found within the code of X/Y.
Beedril gains Adaptability and retains Bug/Poison typing and gains higher Attack and Speed.
Pidgeot, somewhat more interestingly, gains No Guard and higher Sp. Attack. Finally carving out a niche for yourself among other Normal/Flying types, eh? Spam that Hurricane!
The Eon Ticket will make a return as an event item to obtain Latias in OmegaRuby and Latios in AlphaSapphire, and you will be able to fly around on Latios and Latias using an item called Eon Flute, and find Pokemon in the sky and clouds. Older legendary Pokemon such as Reshiram, Zekrom, Dialga and Palkia can be obtained in this way, and it is said that all non-event legendaries will be obtainable in gen 6 now.
So... this is quite mind-boggling, to be honest! They just keep revealing more and more amazing features! What do you think about all of this?
The cloud overworld made me think of the cloudtops in LOZ: The Minish Cap. I think it would be cool if you fail to catch Rayquaza at the Sky Pillar, you can have a do over in the clouds. I mean it's a perfect place to catch a Pokemon classified as the Sky High Pokemon.
Pics or it didn't happen.

Welcome to my trade thread! Here you can request a 5 IV Pokemon that I can breed for a 5 IV Pokemon of your own that I don't have! I'll take almost anything decently competitive (sorry Weedle breeders), so offer at will!
Sadly for Beedrill, Poison and Bug are not very good STAB, but can still be used.
Mega Beedrill is something I didn't know how much I wanted, until now.
and it looks so awesome. GameFreak showing some love for Best Gen 1 Caterpiller line.
If Mega Pidgeot does indeed get that special attack boost than 100% Hurricanes with it would be an awesome thing. Mind you, both new Pokemon might get some new moves to take advatange of their new abilities - ala Heracross and Rock Blast.
Hopefully we'll also have Mega Slaking and Regigigas!
man they are really taking the lati@s jet plane jokes and running with them huh
Those Megas look sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet
Mega Beedrill is going to be Whimsicott's worst enemy.
Mega Pidgeot is a bit underwhelming underwhelming looking... the cloud thing sounds awesome though!!
Considering all those pokemon on those screenshots have Mega evoulations. is it safe to say that Shiftry will get one too?
I love them both tbh, I just wish Pidgeot had more things to abuse with No Guard =/

I'd say so, in fact I'd guess that's what we'll see in the demo come Wednesday.
Also.... I feel obliged to say this:

Why isn't anyone ever just whelmed?
Mega Pidgeot already has Hurricane and perhaps Heat Wave under its belt. Being able to learn Focus Blast would be a nice addition too.

Yeah, but hurricane is the only one that receives a big-ish boost, and being required to use those moves makes it very predictable, especially given it's complete lack of a movepool otherwise xD
But yeah, something like focus blast would be very nice, and not completely out of the question! Would leave it's HP slot open for something other than ground too

Now I suddenly have a great and mighty need for Mega Cacturne.
Hell, while we're at it, let's give Pidgeot Thunder for no reason at all.
Let me just say Mega Pidgeot looks pretty awesome. Even if they were only small changes, they added to it really well imo.

Agreed, but Mega Beedrill is just beautiful.
I didn't even think about it happening and now I'm glad it did.
I can't be the only one thinking it looks more Bug/Steel than Bug/Poison though? It looks like it's become part robot, it's literally gleaming like metal.
Well at least Mega Pidgeot didn't look as odd as Mega Slowbro. That thing looks so much like an ice cream cone.
@Zeke: That is true. Thinking about it, poison/steel would be a possible combination. It's sounds cool.
I've just thought, Nasty Plot on this majestic beast would make it murderous.

I've just thought, Nasty Plot on this majestic beast would make it murderous.
... murderously weak.
Its base Special Attack is 45. And an increase of 50 points would make it 95, far from dangerous with intial 65/90/40/45/80/75 stats.
Assume it will get a total increase of 100 between all stats bar HP.
On the other hand, if you mean Pidgeot... it already has Work Up, enough to boost both Stats and escape using a U-Turn. Nasty Plot would leave you walled by some Pokémon. Say you have Hurricane, Heat Wave, and HP Ground/Fighting/Water. With Pidgeot's current base 70 SpA, it will need a huge increase in SpA to hit Rotom-W, Tyranitar, Heatran, and Zapdos without being walled. Keep in mind as well that Pidgeot received a boost in its Standard forme, and Mega Alakazam, which got a similar boost, only got its Mega Stats increased by 90 points.
If I did not include any other attack (other than Round, Hyper Beam, or Uproar) is because they are either too weak or have too negative side effects (a priori). Yes, Pidgeot needs more moves.
^Way to shoot all our dreams down.
Mega Pidgeot is just Braviary on special steroids right now, and actually looks so much cooler. Mega Beedrill looks incredibly awesome too, loving the design.
But omgggggg the flying thing is something I've always hoped would happen in a Pokémon mainstream game and it's come true! Inb4 Pokemon Ranger jokes
Seriously though, I will scream at someone if they have shiny locked all of the legendaries :/
I don't think it's going to be very likely that the legendaries will be shiny locked this time around. I mean they aren't in their usual regions and plus the legendaries that are Shiny locked aren't the mascots for the region. I also have a theory that Regigigas will be one of the few (if not only) non-Hoenn Legendary to be caught legitimately within the Hoenn dex and not in the clouds. Heatran might be found in a cave inside Mt. Chimney after the Elite Four.
Mega Beedrill ;D
Mega Pidgeot :(
Plz plz plz plz plz plz add in mega Glalie or deoxys
Deoxys won't be getting a Mega. I mean it's forme changes provide the stat changes Mega Evolution gives. In a way its formes ARE Mega Evolutions and the meteorites are the Mega Stones. But a Mega Glalie and Mega Froslass would be nice.
I dunno if Deoxys will or won't get a Mega but Deoxys' formes all have the same base stat total so it's not out of the question
At any rate anything said about Pidgeot is just speculation... even if it somehow gets 140 base SAtk it has all of Twister, Hurricane, some normal type special move, and like Heat Wave for its special movepool
There's Hidden Power too. You could run Hurricane, an HP, Heat Wave and Roost. I think that could work.
U turn is always there to flesh out its movepool too
I was watching the Viridian City episode of Pokemon Rusty about a month ago and I scrolled down to the comments. I saw the top comment that read "Mega Beedrill confirmed. We're f[screwed]d" with over 300 likes. I thought that was just a foreboding joke. I laughed when I saw that it was true.
When was Mega Beedrill confirmed again? Was it there since a month ago when I read that comment, or was it just recently?
i think it was pretty recent
Bulbapedia had an article posted on it October 10. Pretty recent. That guy really nailed it with his comment, didn't he?
Well, anyway, I have other thoughts comparisons on the Mega Pokemon. Well no, actually on the exciting new features in ORAS. The fact that you get to fly around on Lati@s in the sky and run into sky Pokemon reminds me of Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs (I love this game!) You get to fly over the clouds on Lati@s and chase down flying pokemon like Skarmory, Chatot, Pidgeot, etc. Then you catch up to and run into them in battle. Not too Farfetch'd to say that ORAS is adding in an element of Pokemon Ranger to the generic Pokemon games.
Oh and about Guardian Signs... When I heard that you can catch Palkia and Dialga and other legends using the fly-on-Lati@s feature, I immediately thought of how you can fly to Rainbow Dais (which is elevated pretty high up in the air the first time you're there) to catch Ho-Oh. Of course, that's the same thing as using Fly in the regular Pokemon games. But I still think that ORAS is derivative of Guardian Signs.
All Pokemon can use the move Fly. Maybe by having Lati@s use Fly, you unlock the event where you literally get to fly in the sky? If so, I'll go all "Guardian Signs" on all those Pidgey's up there.
If we have Mega Beedrill we also need Mega Butterfree. Though I would have expected Beautifly/Dustox before those since they are actually Hoenn Pokémon.

Thats exactly what I had in mind when I saw that.
Mega Pidgeot probably means that there will be a Mega Fearow too.
Plot Twist: Mega Fearow is still unable to learn Brave Bird.
Ha.

Maybe. But I feel like Fearow is outclassed by Pidgeot in almost every way. Pidgeot just always seems to be one step ahead, Fearow seems to be the forgotten one... I'm not hating on Fearow, though, don't get me wrong. It always bothered me though how Spearow only evolved once (there's nothing wrong with that, is there?) Pidgeot just has a more complete evolution line. I feel that it's more memorable since you can see it in more stages.
Spearow is more memorable to me than pidgey though, as the fiercer one. But then it evolves and it's done, while Pidgey keeps growing and growing.
Mega Dodrio and Mega Xatu anyone?
It's actually the other way around. Pidgeot has always been outclassed by Fearow, who in turn was outclassed by Dodrio, and all of them wish they were Staraptor. Pidgeot did get a Speed buff this generation, setting it above all base 100's, but before the Mega, there was no reason to even consider using it.
And all of those guys wish they were Raven!
I'll escort myself out.
Mega Latios looks pretty cool. Ditto for Mega Latias, though they look the same. I mean, some guy found it months ago, but it seems to be officially confirmed by Nintendo just recently and is actually obtainable in-game (in OR/AS of course).
Here's a video about Mega Latias and Latios from 8 months ago but the description and items seems to be right (http://"http://youtu.be/ujZYtZ01Sms")
And here's the different video about Mega Latias and Latios (http://"http://youtu.be/px3NKPttYNs")
