Title: Chino Flurry
Post by: Afro-Disiak on December 06, 2008, 16:49
Name: Chino Flurry

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Character Description: Chino is about 6 feet tall, with broad shoulders although he is quite skinny. He has messy brown curly hair that refuses to stay in place, so he sometimes dons a warm winter beanie. He lives in Snowpoint City so it's pretty cold there anyway. He can usually be found in the fields around lake Acuity studying the pokemon that can be found in this unique habitat. When out and around his home town, he'll usually be wearing his trademark thermal white snowsuit and a pair of Go-Goggles. It allows for great camouflage and let's Chino get much closer to the wild pokemon he studies. He has cold grey eyes that seem to have faded since he's been spending more and more time in the snowstorms.

Character Personality: He's very methodical in his training and researching, and puts lots of thought into his actions. This can sometimes hinder him in some circumstances as he tends to ignore his own instinct. He is generally a pleasant person who always has time to listen, but can be extremely competitive and stubborn when faced with something he can't immediately handle. He has been known to fly off the handle and had gotten him a bit of a reputation around Eterna City - another reason he wanted to leave was to be able to have a fresh start.

Character History: Chino has been living on his own for 2 years now. He left his family in Eterna City when he turned 18, after defeating the local Gym Leader. He thought there was nothing left to do, and wanted some independance from his overly protective parents. He was privately tutored as a child by a local Expert who lived in Eterna Forest. She taught him how to observe and understand pokemon, and how to use that knowledge in battle. When he turned 10, his teacher gave Chino his first pokemon. It was a Porygon. She said it mirrored his personality and would be a great partner to have. Chino and Porygon quickly grew close, and his studying under Expert Grace flourished over the passing years.

When Chino turned 18, he decided he was ready to take on Gardenia, the towns Gym Leader. It was going to be the deciding factor in whether he was ready to go off on his own journey or not. In an epic battle, Chino and Porygon managed to defeat Gardenia's Grass based team. Turtwig fell to Porygon's favourite move, Psybeam as he was thrown all over the room, and finally into a rock for the KO. Gardenia's last pokemon was Roserade - something Chino wasn't prepared for. Psybeam was super effective, but Porygon became poisoned and it's energy began to sap. A swift Discharge of energy from Porygon managed to Paralyse Roserade and then it was easy pickings. He was given the Forest Badge and the confidence he needed to move out on his own.
