George Clawford

Age and Gender

21, Male

Description

Height: 6'2
Build: George is quite a tall, and has a prominent figure. He will usually be found wearing his trademark blue and purple cape/cloak/jacket, with a plain white button shirt and black denim trousers. His blue spiky hair, with streaks of silver make him quite a recognizable trainer, and has gained a cult following for his individual style of training and battling. He has always been a bit of a loner, but decided to use this to focus completely on his training with his faithful partner, Sneasel.

Personality

George relies on instinct and experience to get by. He can be blunt and awkward in conversation, but this is mostly unintentional and due to a lack of real social skills. His relationship with Sneasel has probably been the most stable thing in his life and is content as long as his clawed companion is doing okay. George likes to use logic and looks for the simple solution to problems. He can be accused of being quite narrowminded, and stubborn, but isn't completely closed off to listening to other people's opinions.

History

George's history is somewhat unknown to him. His earliest memories are of him playing in a playground with lots of other children, everyone else running around, playing games and having fun. But he had a different feeling, an emptiness in his life. He was an orphan. There was no information on his parents and when he turned 12, ran away from the orphanage in Cherrygrove City to rough it out and try and find some answers. Two days had passed and he had headed north through Route 30 and gained some basic survival skills. He learnt about berries and catching his food. It didn't take long before he realised that without a Pokemon, he wouldn't get very far. So he set a trap, using an Aspear Berry that he had found as bait. George had some old pokeballs that he wasn't sure even worked. Someone told George that they were "Moon Balls" but he had never heard of a pokeball like that, so was skeptical. George waited for a good 4 hours before he got some interest. He had carefully placed the Aspear Berry near the entrance of Dark Cave, where he could then jump out and and flush it away from the darkness and into the open. A Sneasel with appeared from the darkness, and as it became preoccupied by the bait, George threw his "Moon Ball" at Sneasel. His breath was held what felt like an eternity before the flashing button on the pokeball faded and the ball lay motionless on the cool stony ground. He had a partner now, and someone to travel with on his journey. From TV at the orphanage, George always used to watch battles on the Tournament Channel, and always particularly enjoyed the Battle Frontier series which ran two seasons a year. From an early age, he had always wanted to prove himself and he saw something in those battles that fired him up enough to make it his dream.
Since meeting, the two of them strive everyday, to reach the fabled Battle Frontier and challenge the Brains and earn a place in the Hall Of Fame. This strength of belief in their abilities is what keeps them moving through the region, honing their skills together.

He has yet to catch anymore Pokemon, and has travelled with Sneasel as his only partner since meeting. He has yet to find a Pokemon that fuels his desire enough to think about catching. This brings him to Goldenrod City, and the Bug Catching Contest where he hopes to change this and add a new member to his party.

Eclipse the Sneasel, an Ice/Dark type of quite Jolly nature. It has amazing agility and seems to glide across the floor rather than run. It knows a variety of physical moves, such as Metal Claw, Ice Shard, Pursuit, Screech and Night Slash. It has has a move that seems to be unique to Sneasel in the Johto Region, Low Kick*.

*This is a new move for Sneasel in HG/SS.
