Games General / Re: What are all the evolution methods?
« on: June 07, 2017, 01:43 »
There's evolution at a specific level while knowing a move or having a certain Pokemon in the party, leveling up with a certain amount of Affection and knowing a Fairy move, evolution at a certain level during the day, leveling up while holding an item during the night, leveling up at day or night depending on which version, and leveling up in rain.

Thought Unown was from Gen 5 because of Pokedex 3D, and I thought Togepi was Gen 1 for the longest time. Also sometimes I forget Tangela and Tangrowth exist and that they're from 1 and 4, and I thought Hoppip's line was 3 or 4.

In G/S/C, HG/SS, B2/W2, and Sun and Moon, the player character Red appears as his team is similar amongst those games. It consists of Pikachu, Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Snorlax, and Lapras (Espeon in Gen II).

In that case, what would other playable characters from previous games' teams consist of? The best one I could think of was one for Gold/Ethan.

Tyhplosion (could be any starter, really, but Ethan is portrayed with Cyndaquil the most)

Togetic/Togekiss (in-game gift Pokemon given as an egg; depends on if whether it's the Gen II or Gen IV version we're talking about)

Sudowoodo (Like Snorlax in the Gen I games and their remakes as well as X/Y, Sudowoodo blocks your path in G/S/C.)

Hitmontop (another gift Pokemon, once again given to the player as an egg. It makes sense for the Tyrogue to have evolved into Hitmontop, as it was introduced in Gen II.)

Politoed (Completes the Grass/Fire/Water triangle with Typhlosion and Sunflora. Politoed is one of Gold's Pokemon in the manga.)

Sunflora (Completes the Grass/Fire/Water triangle with Typhlosion and Politoed. Sunflora is one of Gold's Pokemon in the manga.)

What do you think of this team, and what teams can you think of for characters from the other games, like Brendan/May, Dawn/Lucas and so on?

General Pokémon Discussion / Re: Another nickname thread

Titania for a female Mawile, as she is the queen of the fairies in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. It also comes from the metal, titanium.

Raspberry (also can be made into Razzberry) for a Salazzle, as it's colors remind me of one.

I named my female Alolan Raichu "Sparkle", like the commonly used "Sparky" for males.

There are many mysteries surrounding the Pokemon world. For example, all Nurse Joys look and sound exactly the same, all Officer Jennys too. Are they all clones?

Nurse Joy isn't their first name, but rather their surname. They are all similar-looking relatives. However, Nurse Joy is not to be confused with the Pokemon Center Nurses, characters in the games that Nurse Joy are based off of, just like the Ash's travelling companions have game counterparts. In Pokemon Origins, which unlike the main series, is based around the Gen I games' events, and all the the Pokemon Center Nurses are different.

Sun and Moon / Your Sun/Moon Team
« on: May 14, 2017, 00:14 »
Currently, I'm still pretty early in, so here's what I have so far.

Blaze (Litten, M)

Tucan (Pikipek, M)

Chrysalis (Metapod, F)

Ozzy (Yungoos, M)

Purrcy (Alolan Meowth, M)

Sheldon (Slowpoke, M) (accidentally nicknamed She')

I plan to use...

Aurora (from aurora borealis) (Alolan Ninetales, F)

Eduardo (Pangoro, M)

Eeveelution, either Enigma (Umbreon, M or F), Claire (from clairvoyance) (Espeon, F), or Poseidon (Vaporeon, M)

Pom-Pom (Ambipom, F)

Those are just a few examples of what I plan to add to my team in the future when I get my cartridge of Moon back, presumably tommorow.
