Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald Other Pages: Nintendo DVD Revelations |

Whilst people the world over are searching for the latest information about Ruby and Sapphire, Nintendo have released a DVD featuring games clips, just to tempt us towards threatening to blow up Nintendo HQ unless they release RS quicker.

The DVD features only a few seconds of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, yet it reveals an awful lot. Don't worry - the weird Japanese text on top of some of the screenshots is the DVD's doings, not that of the games.

To the left, you'll see the start of a battle - it's very different to before - and much cooler. Just like the animé or Advance Wars for the GBA, colourful lines fly in and the battlers prepare to duel. Looks beautiful. In the screenshots, the male trainer is preparing to fight what we'd guess is a Junior Trainer.

Look beyond the lovely visuals, and if you're more eagle eyed than the 70's rock collective, The Eagles, and you'll see that it is indeed raining! Yet more confirmation of weather! Perhaps more exciting is what the screenshots can't show. As the battle begins, it appears as if there is lighting- whether this is an "into battle" effect or a genuine weather condition is a topic for debate.

Apart from these shocking revelations, a bit more battle footage has been revealed - it shows the start of a battle with a male Junior Trainer, and some attacks.

An educated guess at what attack Sharpedo is using would be Surf. Much improved from Gold and Silver, thankfully.

Down on the column of pictures a bit and you can see what appears to be Poochyena using Mean Look. The big yellow face behind it looks great in this writers opinion. Notice how the darkness is behind the status boxes - unlike the screen shot below which shows some sort of clapping attacks - the darkness goes over the status boxes!

Well, that's about all that's new on the DVD, check back regularly at PKMN.NET for more information.
