There's a minigame here if you've got a Surfing Pikachu. I don't, since I don't have a N64, so I can't tell you anything more about it. It's probably fun.

Catch a Tentacool if you want to. Defeat lots of trainers. Turn around to go back, or use Fly, or go ahead and go to the Seafoam Islands already. Immediately forget about Route 19 after that, you probably won't go here anymore (Reaching the Seafoam Islands from Route 20 is easier and faster). Now go back to Pallet Town, and prepare to Surf south from there.

Lots of trainers again. In Red and Blue, you can get Tangela only in the patch of grass in the north. Nothing special. You'll have reached Cinnabar Island now, and for a small island, there's quite a lot to do here. More about that later, though. First I'll go through the Route 20 trainers and clean those out. You can skip to Cinnabar Island, though, and skip this route or do it when you go to the Seafoam Islands.
