Stadium 2: Gym Leader Castle: Team Rocket Interlude |

Two Grunts and two Executives to beat in order with one team. It's going to be a long day.

The first Grunt has this team:
-Geodude
-Graveler
-Pineco
-Koffing
-Weezing
-Electrode

All fans of heavy-hitting attacks, these creatures. On top of their strong attacks, all of these know Explosion. Explosion's a harsh move, although it does mean you get a free kill. To get past this tactic, use a trusty Ghost type - resistant to Explosion! Be careful of Geodude's and Graveler's Ground moves, though - to beat them, exploit their quad weaknesses with a Grass or Water type.

The second Grunt has this team:
-Spinarak
-Zubat
-Dunsparce
-Drowzee
-Murkrow
-Houndoom

All of these have Toxic as well as either Protect or Detect. These moves block your attack; usually, it's useless, but coupled with Toxic it can be deadly. One thing to remember here is that Poison types cannot be poisoned, so they're an asset here. If you choose to combat them with a Poison type, be wary of Dunsparce's Dig and Drowzee's Confusion. A Poison/Flying type would be ideal, since none of these have a move that's super-effective against Flying - it also adds an immunity to Ground moves.

The first Executive has this team:
-Raticate
-Arbok
-Vileplume
-Muk
-Lickitung
-Sneasel

These six have two moves in common. The first is Frustration, which isn't a major problem. The second is Thief, which may very well cause problems - the move steals whatever item you're holding. The best tactics would be to either use Pokémon that don't have items or use Pokémon with items that would be useless for this team (such as a Pikachu with a Light Ball, Cubone with Thick Club, Ditto with Metal Powder and so on). You could also use Thief on your own team to steal your item back. Vileplume has a Przcureberry, so don't paralyse it - the item means it can't steal your own items. Many of these Pokémon also have heavy-damage moves like Earthquake and Fire Blast, so be prepared.

The second Executive has this team:
-Golbat
-Victreebel
-Wobbuffet
-Persian
-Houndoom
-Misdreavus

Victreebel and Houndoom both have Sunny Day and Solarbeam; exploit it by using a Fire move against Victreebel. Against Houndoom, it'd be better to use Rain Dance to foil its plans.

Golbat and Persian are both all-out fighters - Golbat has Confuse Ray, but otherwise they only have attacking moves.

Misdreavus is a tricky beast this time - she has Curse and Pain Split. Pain Split adds both her and the opponent's HP and gives each Pokémon half of it. This can be a nasty tactic, so try making her faint as quickly as humanly possible.

Wobbuffet has both Counter and Mirror Coat - the only monster that can get both. The easiest way to beat it would be to use a Ghost type with a Ghost move or a Dark type with a Dark move.

The individuals aren't too hard to beat, but the variety of tactics used makes the team a toughie.

Once that rude interruption's over, you can finally move on to Pryce's gym.

Well if Team Rocket are supposed to be difficult to beat, I missed something out!
