Stadium Stadium Two: Earl's Academy: Elite Four Class |

With the Pikachu medal, you can proceed to the Elite Four class. If you complete this class, you'll uncover more secrets in the library. Rumour has it that completing the Elite Four class will also give you better teams for the Challenge Cup in the Stadium, which is a great reward.

Again, the lectures and exam are quite easy, as long as you concentrate. This time, there are only four trainers to beat, but they're the hardest yet.

Cooltrainer Connor

Connor only uses Hyper Beam, which is a very bad thing considering it'll kill most Pokemon at your disposal in one move. You now have to rely on multiple things; mix same-type-attack bonus with type weaknesses and held items. Choose Pikachu with Light Ball, Cubone with Thick Club and Shuckle with Focus Band. Pikachu and Cubone can kill any monster in one move as long as they have a type advantage and Shuckle can absorb several Hyper Beams before being knocked out. If you need to trade from Pikachu to Cubone or vice versa, switch to Shuckle first. Allow it to be knocked by Hyper Beam, then trade to the next Pokemon while the opponent's recharging.

Cooltrainer Becky

Similar to Connor, Becky relies on Hyper Beam. Unlike Connor, she raises her Pokemon's Attack stat first, thereby allowing her to knock any Pokemon ouit straight away. Getting past this tactic is very structured; pick Scyther, Raticate and Raichu. Each one has a speed-raising move. When Becky raises her Attack, use the time to raise your speed. On the next move, use Endure; you'll be hit by a Hyper Beam, but you'll have 1HP remaining. When the opponent recharges, use Reversal for maximum damage. Beware of Pinsir, who is resistant to Reversal: it may cause your Pokemon to faint quickly. Don't worry about it, move on to your next Pokemon. As long as you follow the pattern - speed move, Endure, Reversal - you should be able to beat Becky with ease.

Juggler Ferris

Ferris wants you to to demonstrate some combos. He will lead with Dragonite, then send out Tyranitar then end with a Fire-type. Choose Steelix to lead (with Bind and Toxic), then Poliwrath (with Mind Reader and Dynamicpunch) then Golem (with Defense Curl and Rollout). When Dragonite comes out, use Toxic straight away then keep using Bind until Dragonite faints. Steelix will probably be in no condition to battle Tyranitar, but if you can get a Toxic in, all the better. When Steelix faints, use Poliwrath's Mind Reader then use Dynamicpunch - it's quadruply effective against Tyranitar and will knock it out in one move. Finally, send Golem in against the Fire-type. Use Defense Curl then Rollout - Rollout will now start with double the ordinary base damage, and including the same-type-attack bonus and the Fire-type's weakness to Rock, will deal six times the ordinary damage.

Swimmer Julian

The final battle also happens to be one of the easiest. Julian uses Rain Dance to make Thunder more accurate; counter by choosing the three Pokemon that know Sunny Day (Exeggutor, Houndoom and Jumpluff). Sunny Day cancels out Rain Dance, which gives you an advantage and gives Julian a huge disadvantage. If any of Julian's Pokemon uses Minimize, switch to Exeggutor and use Stomp for double the damage.

There you go - all the battles have been won!
