Mario :: Super Smash Bros Melee Character Profiles

Probably the most famous gaming icon ever! Mario! After all, his is the main star in SSBM. Mario was first seen in the Donkey Kong Arcade, (1981) when you had to climb ladders to rescue his girlfriend from a giant ape. Mario then was called “Jumpman” and was a carpenter.but people said he looked more like a plumber. The president of Nintendo of America, thought he looked a bit like his landlord, Mario, so that’s how he got his name. Mario first appeared in his own game “Super Mario Twins” for the SNES (1985). Mario has appeared in countless games from Donkey Kong Arcade to Super Mario Sunshine. Any way Mario is in Super Smash Brothers Melee. His Special Moves are:

FireBall
Cape
Super Jump Punch
Mario Tornado

Mario also has a clone on SSBM, Dr Mario.

Dr. Mario isn't exactly a clone... it's just Mario in his suit from Dr. Mario (along with some doctor-slapping, pill-packed action!)

A clone is defined by the similarity between each fighter. Dr. Mario is Mario, but since he is treated as a different fighter yet has a nearly identical play style, he's a clone.
