PKMN.NET :: Forms :: Black & White Pokémon
Black & White Pokémon: Forms | There's still a few more for you to get.

Forms! Something that has been in the Pokemon series ever since Deoxys decided it was a little bored how it looked. Counting the trend set from there, Black/White, so let's begin with the new ones and move onto our old favourites who have new form-changing methods.

New Pokemon

Basculin

Red Stripe Form
HP 70

Spec. Defence 55

Blue Stripe Form
HP 70
Attack 92
Defence 65
Spec. Attack 80
Spec. Defence 55
Speed 98
Ability Reckless or Adaptability

Basculin's forms are just about looks, really. Neither can change into the other and they must be caught on the games. Red Strip Form are much easier to catch on Pokemon Black whilst the Blue Strip form can be caught, it is much harder and requires the new 'shaking area' wild Pokemon method detailed here. The opposite is true for Pokemon White.

Darmanitan

Normal Mode
HP 105

Dream World Ability Zen Mode

Defence 105
Spec. Attack 140
Spec. Defence 105
Speed 55
Ability Zen Mode

Darmanitan's forms are quite interesting but you're limited how to actually change into it. As you can see, when it reaches it's 'Zen Mode' state it changes types and stats, this happens when a Darmanitan with Zen Mode as an ability is at 50% HP or less. However to get a Zen Mode Darmanitan you must head to the Relic Castle and captured one of the six sitting outside or simply capture a Darmanitan from Dream World and it will have Zen Mode. A Darmanitan obtained any other way will always have Sheer Force as an ability.

Deerling & Sawsbuck

Spring Form
Summer Form
Autumn Forme
Winter Forme

Just when you think you've seen everything, GameFreak throws in a season changing deer at you. Oh dear. Deerling and its evo changes with the season you're currently playing in-game. To remind you that Black and White now has seasons and given a bigger workload for future games for the designers. Hoorah!

This is purely for looks, there are no stat changes or anything that comes with it.

Meloetta

Aria Forme
HP 100
Attack 77
Defence 77
Spec. Attack 128
Spec. Defence 128
Speed 90
Ability Serene Grace

Pirouette Forme
HP 100
Attack 128
Defence 90
Spec. Attack 77
Spec. Defence 77
Speed 128
Ability Serene Grace

Meloetta's a bit like Shaymin when you consider it is a cute feminine Pokemon with a new form, unlike Shaymin however, she wants it NOW and not in the third version.. So here we have her. As you can see there's quite a few differences in type and stats and even movesets. To get the 'Pirouette Forme', you need to get Meloetta through a Nintendo event when it comes to you or downloadable and then take your new shiny Meloetta to Castelia City, and located inside a Cafe is a man who is so surprised to see you have such a Pokemon and teach it Relic Song allowing you to change its form during battle. Pretty neat. Now be honest, how many of you are planning to call it Lady Gaga?

Genesect

Held Item:

Genesect is a bit like Arceus in a way. Like the spacegoat, he's apperance will change (if very slightly) depending on the Drive he holds. More importantly however, is that holding a will change his the type of of his unique and impressive attack, Techno Blast. Normally it'd be a Normal move, but with the Drives you can change it to suit a strategy if you really wanted of course.

The first indecisive Pokemon is back! Since mid way through the 3rd Gen Deoxys has had several forms with stat changes and different movepools. We have Attack Deoxys - huge attack stats low defence stats, Defence Deoxys - high defence average to low attack stats. Speed Deoxys - High speed, balanced attack and defence stats and finally, sometimes hilariously called 'Balanced Deoxys' with uh, high attack and..frail defences, this being the original form.

Send it other with PokeTransfer then head to Nacrene City's Museum and when you interact with the meteorite on display Deoxys will cycle through its forms.

Rotom is back and this time he has another change! Instead of being the standered Electric/Ghost when he takes on a different Forme as of past games, he'll take on a different type that refelects his form, replacing the the Ghost typing. So you finally have a Elecetric/Fire type, if you wanted it. For some reason. As usual his stats and movepool also change as well as gaining a unique attack upon changing forme that the other forms of Rotom cannot access. Although when he changes form that special attack will be deleted from his movepool.

To get the wonderful forms, head to the Department store on Route 9 (Unova) whenever you have a Rotom, then go to the room with storage boxes and interacting with one will allow you to change Rotom's form.

Giratina

Another Forme
HP 150

Speed 90
Ability Pressure

Origin Forme
HP 150

Defence 100
Spec. Attack 120
Spec. Defence 100
Speed 90
Ability Levitate

Giratina's forms are here! All two of them. The 'Origin Forme' that was introduced in Platinum and the Altered Forme that he uses to get around. Because we all know stomping legs of a big scary thing is the way to go. To get Giratina's Origin Forme you need the Griseous Orb which you recive from the Dark Trinity on Route 16 (Unova) where you'll recive it (as well as the Lustrous Orb and the Adamant Orb) which is just a small way of making up all the danger they put you through.

Simply attach it to Giratina and he'll change to the Origin Forme.

Shaymin

Land Forme
HP 100
Attack 100
Defence 100
Spec. Attack 100
Spec. Defence 100
Speed 100
Ability Natural Cure

Sky Forme
HP 100
Attack 103
Defence 75
Spec. Attack 120
Spec. Defence 75
Speed 127
Ability Serene Grace

To change the Hedgehog from its Land Forme to the Dog-Like Sky Forme, go to Lacunosa Town's Pokemon Center with a Shaymin, take it with you and talk a lady inside and she'll give you the Gracidea. With it you can change Shaymin's forme from 6am to 8pm. Note – Shaymin will revert to its Land Forme if its either frozen or put in a PC box.

Hihidaruma has been wrongly listed as Fire/Fighting. It's only Fire when in it's standard form, and Fire/Psychic in it's emotional breakdown form.

d'oh. I swear it was Fire/Fighting. thanks YOU.

No problem. Trust me to know about Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Some of them I love. Some of them I rage at. Some of them get brofisted. ^_^

I really kinda like the Formes this generation. Mebujika's changes are my favorite, even though they don't have any special move or stat changes.

Yeah, the form changes are pretty cool, although I wish they made it more noticeable on Genosekuto. Maybe have it's eyes change color or something like that...

yeah, can you imagine what we'd have around to do without pokemon. anyway these new forms of different pokemon look promising, i look forward to using them in battle, and the challenge of catching them. i also agree that the fire/fighting combination in pokemon(especially the fire starters) are getting kind of old, i do like their versatility though

seriously why does that keep copying itself!
