Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Last Resort
- Quick Attack/Return
- Baton Pass
- Shadow Ball

Eevium Z allows Last Resort to become Extreme Evoboost, which raises Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed by 2 stages. The idea is to Baton Pass this boost to Sylveon or Glaceon.

Sylveon @ Chesto Berry

Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

With the boost from Extreme Evoboost, Stored Power is a base 220 power move. The fairy type move allows it to hit dark types. Calm Mind because it synergizes well with Stored Power and Chesto Rest is its only single move recovery option.

Sun and Moon / Event moves can be relearned!
« on: December 13, 2016, 13:45 »
The move relearner can be used to relearn event moves that it previously knew, as well as egg moves. My Snorlax was able to relearn Happy Hour.

I'm guessing this would work with any move that had been forgotten, such as transfer only moves once Bank is working.

Trades / Starters for trade!
« on: November 27, 2016, 13:00 »
Like the title says.. willing to breed a female for another female starter or a Ditto. Or just offer anything for a male and I will tell you if I'd like to make the trade. Nicknames are preferred but not essential.

UPDATE:
Now have all 3 Alolan starters, a Ditto and can breed for Snivy too.

The main reason I'm doing this is that I need a 3rd Leftovers for my team, and I may as well hunt shinies at the same time. To find Leftovers the Pickup Pokémon need to be level 81 or higher.

Shinies caught:

1. Machop, Docile nature, 41 hoard encounters

Current target:

Swablu, 493 hoard encounters so far

Leftovers found: 2, taking 445 total hoard encounters for the 1st and got the 2nd at 493

Pokédex: 638 owned / 668 seen

Team:

Teddiursa (F) Lv.97
[Pickup]
- Earthquake
- Thrash
- Close Combat
- Sweet Scent

Sweet Scent is to initiate hoard battles for shiny hunting, and Earthquake kills the hoard.

Ambipom (F) Lv.93
[Pickup]
- Protect
- Agility
- Double Hit
- Swift

I don't use this one in battle, but Swift could have use for hoards.

Diggersby (M) Lv.92
[Pickup]
- Super Fang
- Earthquake
- Facade
- Hammer Arm

Super Fang for catching the shinies. Status is not necessary as they are low level and easy to catch, but Pachirisu and Dedenne can do Thunder Wave plus Super Fang if that's what you want.

Gourgeist (F) Lv.100
[Pickup]
- Seed Bomb
- Phantom Force
- Flame Charge
- Shadow Sneak

Ziggy, Linoone (M) Lv.92
[Pickup]
- Strength
- Thief
- Rock Smash
- Cut

HM carrier from my playthrough, with Thief for extra utility.

Zaggy, Linoone (M) Lv.99
[Pickup]
- Surf
- Secret Power
- Cut
- Rock Smash

HM carrier #2 from my playthrough. Surf is also needed to kill flying type hoards such as Swablu.

I've got the Leftovers that I was looking for now, so will stop until I need more. I also have 13 PP Ups in my bag now, which is nice.

I decided to carry on for a bit longer and got a 2nd Leftovers for my other team.

I was originally breeding for an HP Fire Bulbasaur using a French (iirc) shiny Venusaur as the father which I have since traded away.

I was just looking through the mass of Bulbasaur which I was storing in Bank, so I could find a father for breeding an HP Fire Contrary Snivy, when I noticed the red star which signifies a shiny. I also keep a note of the stats from the Judge and Hidden Power checker, and yes I had checked it previously, but still hadn't noticed that it was shiny.

By the way, this is the only shiny I have ever bred (unless of course there is another one I have not noticed).

I've just checked its IVs, and here it is:-

Bulbasaur - #001 (Modest) Male (♂) : 21 / 31 / 31 / 30 / 6 / 31
Possible Hidden Power Types: Ground
Ability: Chlorophyll

X and Y/OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire / Your Contest Pokémon
« on: January 04, 2015, 16:41 »
In this thread you can post the contest Pokémon you have used, their moveset and which contests they have won. I have already made a thread for Contest Movesets in Team Building, which you can use for ideas, as well as explanations for the moves I have used. Here are some of mine for examples of how to post them:-

Bazella - Blaziken (F) @ Red Scarf
- Focus Energy
- Shadow Claw
- High Jump Kick
- Hyper Beam

Won Master Rank in Coolness Contest.

Allotic - Milotic (F) @ Blue Scarf
- Surf
- Dragon Pulse
- Rain Dance
- Water Sport

Won Master Rank in Beauty and Toughness in the original Sapphire, then was transferred to Alpha Sapphire and won Master Rank in Beauty again. It has a Contest Memory Ribbon to represent the 8 ribbons it had in 3rd gen.

Azella - Azumarill (F) @ Pink Scarf
- Defense Curl
- Rollout
- Water Gun
- Play Rough

Has so far won Super Rank in Cuteness.

UPDATE: Has so far failed to win Master Rank twice. Play Rough turns out to be not so great as it only works on Pokémon that are pumped up, and that rarely happens. I might breed for Belly Drum or use something else. Turns out moves like Draining Kiss have a big payoff if you're going last.

I found this in an ORAS guide on Smogon.

You will need the Level Release in your Secret Base, and make sure you clear out any Secret Pals you already have (say goodbye option). You will also need the Dive HM to reach the Secret Meadow.

First scan in all the QR codes in the image from the Secret PC, then go to the Secret Meadow and add everyone from the secret bases as Secret Pals. Now you can go back to your own secret base (you may need to wait a day), and you will have 5 trainers each with 3 level 100 Blissey. Don't forget to use the Level Release before battling them. The Blissey all have Healing Wish as their only move so they will kill themselves (which will fail if they don't have another Pokémon to send out) and are carrying a Toxic Orb. I like to set it to Triple Battle as it's faster and 3 Pokémon will gain more XP from the battle, but then their Healing Wish will always fail.

1. You don't need an empty space in your party as like with Latios/Latias another party member will be sent back to the PC. I like to leave a space though as it saves a bit of time. Set your text speed to fast to skip through the cut scenes faster later on.

2. Have a Pokémon with Synchronize and the nature you want for Rayquaza in the first spot of your party. If you don't have a dedicated catcher such as Spore/False Swipe Breloom, make sure this Pokémon has 175 or more Speed and knows Thunder Wave. I used Alakazam, and then Hold Back Metagross (from the Mystery Gift event) to get its HP down.

3. Use Dragon Ascent with Mega Rayquaza to KO Deoxys. You will be able to rebattle it later at the Sky Pillar after you rebattle the Elite Four. This should allow you to use a different Synchronize Pokémon for catching Deoxys.

4. When checking Rayquaza's IVs, make sure you enter 4 Attack EVs and 4 Special Defense EVs into your IV calculator, to account for the EVs gained when battling Zinnia and Deoxys. Use a Reset Bag before EV training it.

Games General / Pokérus Ritual
« on: December 09, 2014, 01:39 »
This a new thing I've started doing in my Omega Ruby game.. I'll probably do this in all Pokémon games going forward.

My entire team is infected with Pokérus, and each night before midnight I move all my team members into the PC so I can preserve the Pokérus forever. This way, whenever I put a new Pokémon in my team and battle it will get infected as well. As an added benefit it stops me playing late into the night as well. I think of it as putting my Pokémon to bed.

It also means I'm more likely to change my team around next morning since I have to take them out the PC anyway.

Team Building / Mega Latios, mixed bulky Dragon Dance set
« on: December 03, 2014, 22:59 »
Latios (M) @ Latiosite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Thunderbolt

First I will compare the damage output of Mega Latios with Life Orb Latios on the physical side:

252+ Atk Mega Latios Dragon Claw vs. 144 HP / 0 Def Mega Charizard X: 264-312 (79.2 - 93.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Latios Dragon Claw vs. 144 HP / 0 Def Mega Charizard X: 265-315 (79.5 - 94.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

The Life Orb version does 1 - 3 more points of damage, which is negligible, and by using the Mega you gain the advantage of losing Life Orb recoil, +20 to base Defense and +10 to base Special Defense. Combined with the HP EVs, this should make Mega Latios significantly bulkier to help it set up Dragon Dances.

Thunderbolt is mainly there for Slowbro and Skarmory, which 2HKOs both with no investment. Mega Slowbro has the same Sp. Def, so the calculation is the same.

0 SpA Mega Latios Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Slowbro: 234-276 (59.3 - 70%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Mega Latios Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Skarmory: 260-308 (77.8 - 92.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

176 Speed EVs allow it to outspeed 252 Speed neutral nature base 100s before Dragon Dance, and with 80 HP EVs it ends up with 321 HP, an odd number which will supposedly help with Stealth Rock damage.

Team Building / ORAS Contest Movesets
« on: December 01, 2014, 23:23 »
Combos are in italics.

COOLNESS

Pikachu @ Red Scarf
- Agility (Use Quick Attack at earlier levels, you'll just miss out on the combo)
- Electro Ball
- Volt Switch / Thunder Shock / Spark / Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave

Agility and Electro Ball are a combo. In addition to the combo, Agility makes you go earlier in the next round, while Electro Ball gets a bonus for going first. Thunder Shock / Spark / Thunderbolt have 4 hearts for the appeal, and Thunder Wave badly startles Pokémon going before you. Added Volt Switch as an option as it might be better than the other 3 moves in that slot.

Blaziken @ Red Scarf
- Focus Energy
- Shadow Claw

- Brave Bird / Flare Blitz / High Jump Kick
- Hyper Beam

Focus Energy / Shadow Claw is the combo, Shadow Claw also gets 4 hearts so is good for using at other times as well. The move in the 3rd slot gives 6 hearts but makes the user more easily startled. Hyper Beam is for using on the last turn and startles all other Pokémon, with 4 hearts and 4 jamming.

CUTENESS

Azumarill @ Pink Scarf
- Defense Curl
- Rollout

- Water Gun / Bubble / Belly Drum
- Play Rough / Belly Drum

This moveset is very easy to get, except for Belly Drum which is an egg move from Poliwag/Poliwhirl, but it's not really needed. Defense Curl / Rollout is a fairly good combo, Water Gun or Bubble give 4 hearts, and Play Rough gives 3 hearts and can bring down the energy of Pokémon that have already moved. Belly Drum is the risky move since it gives 6 hearts and makes the user more easily startled, but I've had no problem using moves like this on Turn One in contests myself.

Pikachu or any Pokémon that can learn the TMs @ Pink Scarf
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

- Return
- Attract / Draining Kiss

Rest and Sleep Talk are the obvious combo, Return gives 4 hearts and Attract makes the remaining Pokémon nervous. Cosplay Pikachu also gets Draining Kiss but don't use it if you're going first as it copies the appeal of the Pokémon before you.

BEAUTY

Gastly family @ Blue Scarf
- Mean Look
- Explosion

- Energy Ball / Dazzling Gleam / Rain Dance
- Will-O-Wisp / Thunder (Gengar)

Energy Ball / Dazzling Gleam give 4 hearts. Will-O-Wisp is filler, it might be good. Explosion should only be used as the last move, and Mean Look the turn before to make the combo. Gengar can also use the Rain Dance/Thunder combo but Thunder is a Cool move. It shouldn't matter too much though. You should be able to pull off both combos as long as Explosion is used last.

CLEVERNESS

Ralts @ Green Scarf
- Calm Mind
- Stored Power

- Hypnosis
/ Psychic
- Dream Eater / Destiny Bond

Double combo using all level-up moves. Destiny Bond (egg move) is a possible finishing move if you just want one combo. Something like Psychic can be used as the remaining move (4 hearts). I suggest replacing Hypnosis / Dream Eater since it's a combo involving jamming, and jamming won't work very well if you're going first.

I may add more movesets when I think of them.

Each package comes in its own cardboard box, inside of which is the regular plastic box containing the game, and the steelbook which is another plastic case with a steel front and back. As well as the images on the front and back, there are images on the inside which can be seen through the transparent plastic. Like the regular plastic case, the steelbook has a space for one game, but you could obviously fit more games in there if you don't mind them shaking around. I might end up putting some tissue paper inside for that purpose, as it would be a missed opportunity not to use it to store extra games.

I haven't played the games yet, but I plan on playing Omega Ruby first despite Sapphire being my first GBA Pokémon game. This is because I want to see how the story plays out before deciding if I want to recreate my original characters or make new ones. The name I'm going to use for Omega Ruby is one I did use on the original Ruby, but I have since restarted that game and erased the data, so I'm fine using that name again despite what I find out about the storyline. Oh, and I'm going to choose Mudkip first.

Well I'm seeing these topics pop up in forums for all the different game generations, could they not be grouped together in their own forum or sub forum? Plus there could be a sticky on how the different challenge threads work, along with possible extra rules and ideas for making your own challenges.

Now downloadable in Europe (including UK) and Australia, until September 8th. Like the Fancy Pattern that we were able to previously download, it comes with random IVs, nature and ability, and you can save in front of the lady and reset for it, which will probably take ages. I recommend using an ability capsule if you get good stats but the wrong ability, 200 BP is not that hard to get, all things considered. The moves this time are:

Stun Spore
Gust
Light Screen
Struggle Bug

The OT is SUM2014.

This is the ribbon you get from winning the 100 battle challenge in Colosseum I think. I was not able to trade my Rhyperior or Moltres which had this ribbon. The message I get is: It's a special Pokémon. You can't trade it!
