considering that ever since Black and White were released I still manage to remember the Japanese names of several of the gen V pokémon, having the localized names early is an improvement.

Ledyba:
I still keep referring to several BW things in their Japanese names (Klinklang, Durant, moves) not that I have a strong preference either way, it just happens!

Turner:
^ Rex I bet you think you're so Japanese, don't you? What are you gonna do next, stab me with your Pocky?

you got me.  I also read manga untranslated and watch anime unsubbed.  I don't have a clue what's going on but it makes me awesome.
