X/Y Breeding successes/trading stand!
« on: October 29, 2013, 04:46 »
With X/Y making breeding so much easier, we're bound to have many success stories in breeding, so post about yours here!

-Adamant Speed Boost Torchic with 31/31/31/x/25-27/31
-Bold Female Eevee with 31/x/31/31/31/31 and Wish Egg move!
-Modest female Ralts with 31/x/31/31/31/31
-Naive Bagon with 31/31/31/31/?/31

Tell me about what you bred c:

Edit: Since this kind of topic seems conducive to trading leftover breeds, I've renamed the topic accordingly

The downside for comparitively easy 31's is how much of a pain in the arse it is if you need a 30 for hidden power to be the right type, I'll never have that HP ice pichu with so many running around with perfect speed. T.T Everything is HP steel...

azumarill is achieved! now for a 31/31/31/x/31/0 ferrothorn. the zero may throw a spanner in the works....

Where do I find a destiny knot and the power items in X & Y?

I'm going to a Timid Pikachu but I really don't know what IV's to aim for yet. Perhaps 31 in Speed and Sp Att??

Destiny Knot can be obtained from a girl that wants to battle you in one of the alleys in Lumiose, oddly enough. She mentions heartbreak or something. Power Items can be bought with BP.

As for Pikachu, if you're going fully special, Timid with 31 IV in Speed and Sp. Attack is really all you need - the horrific defenses mean it's not taking a single hit before it dies regardless. However, you do want to attempt Hidden Power Ice if possible, as it's completely necessary for type coverage.

Ok. So how would you go about getting an Ice Hidden Power?

It has to do with all of your IVs, and explaining it is a little bit difficult. But you no longer have different levels of power for Hidden Power, as it's always set to base 60 as of gen 6, so that'll help, so just keep breeding Timid Pikachu and you should get it eventually.

A 31/31/31/31/31/31 helioptile! Awful nature, but still, perfect for breeding all the dragons and monsters!

So are you basically using Destiny Knot to breed with a 31 IV Ditto, then doing it again with another 31 IV, then again and again until you get 4-5 31 IVs and then afterwards you go for nature/moveset?

I've actually not used Ditto for any of my breeds; Friend Safari gives Pokemon with two perfect IVs, and that's a good place to start for parents. Then you just keep replacing parents with better children and the inbreeding continues until you've got yourself a perfect Pokemon. Destiny Knot and Everstone are usually what I'm using, but Power Item + Destiny Knot isn't unreasonable either

I assume hidden abilities are passed down through the mother?
