Topic: Mega Rayquaza!

As pretty much everyone guessed, Rayquaza gets a mega evoloution!
Unlike Groudon and Kyogre it doesn't get a primal evolution but it will be revealed as to why it did not gain one.
It has a new ability called 'Delta Stream'. While Mega Rayquaza is in battle weather is nullified and any moves that are super effective against flying types just do normal damage. Like Groudon and Kyogre it learns a new stab move called 'Dragon Ascent'.

I think it looks pretty cool, although i don't like the huge part around its mouth. It detracts from the design a little but yeah it definitely looks like a Mega.

About dragon ascent, earlier I tried to work out roughly how powerful it is, and given it OHKOd Swampert:

252+ Rayquaza does ~60% max to 0/0 Swampert with Dragon Claw
252+ Rayquaza w/ 200 Base Attack ~75% max to 0/0 Swampert with Dragon Claw
252+ Rayquaza w/ 200 Base Attack has a 75% chance to OHKO 0/0 Swampert with outrage

That means, unless Rayquaza gets >50 attack boost, it is likely 120 power or greater. But the chance of the Swampert being 0/0 and the Rayquaza being 252+ seems unlikely, right? Richard pointed out it forces a stat drop, so I think it could be a dragon type V-Create

So with the Strong Winds weather, Rayquaza will only be weakened by Dragon and Fairy attacks. Interesting considering Ice attacks were its biggest threats due to its 4x weakness to them. I like how Dragon Ascent looks though although Mega Rayquaza looks more like an Electric type rather than Flying.

I love it! I especially love that mouthpiece thing, it reminds me of Origin Giratina.

Dragon Ascent seems to be crazy powerful. I think it'll be 180 - 200 BP tbh, and that's enough to nail anything. 270 - 300 BP is massive, and even when halved is pretty crazy.

Huh, so apparently DRAGON ascent is flying type xD Wouldn't be surprised to see it be dual type tbh, but we know for now that it is Flying.

Also the lowered stats are Def and SpD.

Design wise though I kinda love this thing, even if from certain angles it does look like a Chinese glow stick xD

Edit: Also it is AT LEAST 140 base power, because it is the most powerful flying move and Sky Attack is 140 soooooo yeah

I think Ice type attacks should still do X2 damage, but that's still not bad.

I love that mega rayquaza is confirmed. The only thing I have against is Dragon Ascent. I mean flying? I know that flying is a better offensive type, but it has dragon in the name of the move. That, however, only mildly bugs me. Great job on (yet) another mega that's gonna be instabanned.

That would likely be its name IF it came out, but there is no reason to believe they would release it.

I almost died of excitement when that was announced.
