Just a quick FYI for some of you out there who pre-ordered OR/AS from GAME:

Regarding the steelbooks announced this week - you'll need to update your pre-order if you pre-ordered before they were announced. Doing so will cost you 10 GBP deposit instead of 5. If your local GAME is anything like mine, they'll take the 5 quid off the original pre-order and give you an entirely new pre-order receipt for which you'll end up paying a fiver instead of a tenner.

If you do not do this, you'll get the Kyogre/Groudon figure as a pre-order bonus but not the special metal case (steelbook). If you pre-order the steelbook, you also get the figure too.

Sadly enough, if the promotional image is anything to go by. It looks like we'll be getting plain grey carts this time instead of blue/red ones.

The game cards have never been differently colored for any games. Black is always for the original DS and white is always 3DS. If Nintendo intended to have different colored game cards then LOZ A Link Between Worlds would have been gold and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D would have been yellow.

HG/SS, Black, White, Black 2, and White 2 have black game cards, Diamond, Pearl and most other original DS games have dark grey cards. I don't know about Platinum as I don't have it. My Diamond and Pearl were imported from the USA though.

IIRC, I think HG/SS and B/W/B2/W2 have black cards because of their infra-red capabilities. I have no idea what infra-red has to do with the colour of the card, but I must've read it somewhere

It's probably just a design choice to help distinguish between them. Same reason 3DS carts are light grey, I suppose.

Anyway, these look kind cool, bit disappointed by the lack of coloured carts though

yeah i remember hearing this too. If you hold one of those carts above light (like on a torch or a lamp) you can see little red bits on the back, the normal carts are completely opaque.

Idg why the remake carts couldn't have kept the colours, surely the outer casing has no effect on the internal stuff? Pokemon games seemed to be the only ones from what I remember that did coloured carts anyway. I remember when D/P came out I expected my diamond cart to be blue lol.

The first Donkey Kong Land was yellow. I remeber getting the game and noticing it was a different color than al of my other GB games were. Don't know about the other two since I never had them.
