In your opinions, what is the greatest album covers of all time? I suppose favourite would be the better word but oh well. Mine is:

The only reason I love this album cover so much is because of how far the theme was taken. The album cover, the music videos, the "A Collection of Photographic Evidence" book, everything... it just screams effort to me. It's an image that was really pushed forward and I think it works.

Apart from that, I don't really care much for album covers.

I think it'd be silly for me to buy CDs for the album art if I never get the CD out to look at it. I buy CDs because I like the idea of actually owning the album, almost like a collection. I know it's stupid and makes no sense, it's just something I do. It's not that I dislike album art [Wonderlustre (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_s5zv3c5qaYU/TKUdLlW81kI/AAAAAAAAA-w/i_sQ72xPDXA/s1600/Skunk+Anansie+Wonderlustre+cover.jpg), Little Voice (http://www.retromusica.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/sara-bareilles-little-voice.jpg), Far (http://wersmusic.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/regina-spektor-far-album-cover-myspace.jpg), and The Reminder (http://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/covers/the-reminder.jpg) are examples of other album covers I like], I just don't care for it as much as other people. The only reason I mentioned WKAP here is because it isn't just the album cover I like, it's the whole theme of her solo career.

To an extent I agree with this; some albums I've bought because I need the songs, whilst some I buy for the album art.

For example, I already have had MBDTF sent to me but I'm not going to cancel the order because I love the album covers to it.

...Actually that sounds fairly lame haha.

i am dissapoint, milsap. ride the lightning is probably metallica's best/on par with pastor of muppets. definitely better than everything post-justice.

do agree on it being an awesome cover though, wearing a ride the lightning shirt right now...

It's got its moments, but the way I see things is this way:

Puppets > Black Album > Justice > Load > S&M > Kill Em All > Lightning > Reload > Death Magnetic > St Anger

bob rock-metallica definitely has more substance, if you know what i mean, but i like the original thrash sound better (i'm really into slayer, exodus, megadeth and stuff)

I like all of it. I just reckon Bob Rock fattened their sound up much more.
