^ care to share?

i recently picked up "the republic" by Plato from my school library.. it's on the desk right next to me.
i really want to read it after i had to analyze the hidden meaning to it for an english exam, and it appealed to me..

i just finished reading "iliad" by the poet homer.. wonderful read. although i got lost 10+ times.. haha

I could have read that book and done an exam on it for Philosophy... but it's quite big and Plato's stuff is quite deep. We went with Russell's "Problems of Philosophy" instead, but I think I may try and read The Republic if I chance because I want to see how much Plato actually set in stone for us (Plato was one of the major Philosophers of his era and most of his work is the foundation of current philosophical debate).

Mmm, yes, I know. I don't do philosophy, it was just there as an example of an allegory, and I was suprised when plato wrote it (after he witnessed socrates' execution, so the book says..)
yet to read it though and doubt i will understand most of it, but i'll give it a try.
;D

I spent the last week in Greece, and I managed to get through 4 books from sitting by the pool and on the beach xP

First I read Glass Houses by Rachel Caine, then The Host by Stephenie Meyer, then Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman, then Confessions Of A Shopoholic by Sophie Kinsella. I managed to leave the last book by the pool though =[

Believe it or not, I've started to read Stephen King's "It". Marvelous book so far.

Finished the Generation Dead series while on vacation...

Variety? What's that? :P

After finally finishing New Moon (it was boring...) I've managed to get onto Eclipse which is slightly better. I'm also having to read Dracula for English. After them two I'll most likely read either Breaking Dawn or Lord Loss by Darren Shan (bought that for 99p!)

i just finished reading sara douglass' "Pilgrim" (book 2 in the wayfarer redeption, or book 5 in the axis series for all you americans) and am starting "Blade of Fortriu" by Juliet somelongname about some old celtic tribe. pretty sick, no?

i went to the library at school and asked for mein kampf, in all seriousness, and one of them called me a nazi. free speech ftl.

being an avid cussler fan i also finished his new kurt austin series book, "medusa", quite decent. +4

I found it to be a bit confusing at first, but then I got into it and thought it was pretty good. It was also a really addictive book, so I ended up finishing it within days xP

The next book I'm going to read will be The Dead Girl's Dance by Rachel Caine, I think =]
