Treat dodgy posts that start arguments like unexploded WWII bombs found in your garden - don't walk upto it, and shake it around, report it to the authorities and let them deal with it. Use the report to moderator links and don't continue arguments!

Wasn't going to post it, but this way we look a bit livelier:

The news code has received a major overhaul. Aside from looking a bit nicer, region and type filters have been added.

Ooh, very nice! Looks slick. Could I ask what the region select function does? I can't see any difference when toggling between the options, both on the homepage and the news section itself.

Also - congratulations on 6000 posts... that is, well, a lot. :)

It's only going to work on new news posts (as we won't go back and change the old ones - not yet at least). It will filter out the news items that aren't relevant for that region (such as not showing Japan-only giveaways in the UK)
