Title: .:4150 [AD][SF]
Post by: Kpyna on April 11, 2014, 04:29
Welcome to the year 4150.

I guess this might be kind of hard for some of you to process. “Why am I here?”, you may ask. Some of you may even have more basic questions, such as why we can keep this room cool, despite the fact that it's clearly blazing hot outside. “Wasn't it just the 23rd century?”, you might ask.

But let me start off here, generally, and try to be as clear as I can. Depending on when you all lived, you may have different ideas on how time works. To avoid getting too technical and over some of your heads, Time is hardly a straight procession, it's totally relative. Now that I've told you that fact, in recent years, we've managed to harness time travel through extensive testing, and discovered fairly secure ways to travel through the fabric of space and time to warp to any point in time imaginable.

However, turn your attention to outside. Just step right out of your chambers, and please, be slow, and don't make any sort of sudden movement. Your body has been fast frozen for many years. You may notice our barren and destroyed planet. You see, time travel was the best tourism tool to ever grace this country. The moment we invented it, people were flocking to it. Holding up their entire life's savings to get a tour of the past or the future! “I want to watch a show at the Colosseum”, some asked. “I want to see the first rocket launch”, others desired. Some wanted to see first contact with the Vasu. The thing is, some of these tourists managed to escape into the time periods they were supposed to just be visiting. Now, if you were alive in the time to be familiar with the “butterfly effect”, you may see how this could go terribly wrong.

Sure, stepping on a butterfly won't have serious consequences. Some things are truly fated, and removing a few animals, people, or other things can be pretty trivial. Other things, however... were not fated to happen. Killing the Earth's and the galaxy's most treacherous creatures would seem like a fantastic idea to some of the feeble minded. Yes, even today, there are still idiots with a lot of money, who would pay top dollar to go back and kill Hitler, or Almaren. Huge historical figures like these... these effected the course of history. Our planet was completely decimated, due to some being unable to see the silver lining of the world's greatest terrors.

Anyways, back to removing a few things that don't matter in the course of time... Your timeline, at least. I'm sorry to rip you from your everyday lives, and I'm sorry to inform you that your entire family is dead. However, removing you all from your time hardly effected the equation. Most of you were meant to die soon, anyhow.

Sorry to make you all feel... insignificant. However, to lift your spirits, you all are tasked with one of the most important jobs that the human race will ever have. You all will remove the people who ruined the future from history. Each one of you has been pulled from a different time line, and your expertise in that field is vital to the success of our mission.

Yeah, this is extremely glorified mercenary work. I'm not here to lie to you. You are going to be either bringing these people back to this time, where they belong, or even killing some that refuse to go down without a fight. I've been hard at work trying to identify the most vital time criminals for you all to take out. And before you worry, you're all perfectly equipped. I did some tinkering with your bodies and minds. I removed all of those pesky old-timey diseases, and I downloaded some training for 42nd century technology. All that's left is to give you all some vaccines, so we all don't get measles and die en-route.

As of now, you all are some of the most important people on this Earth, and, hell, maybe even in the entire Galaxy. It's up to you all to go back, and save our world from becoming any more distorted.

If the intro wasn't enough, welcome to the year 4150. Pretty much everyone is dead. All that's lef tis your ragtag group of mercenaries, the professor, and a few others that desperately try to keep the world fed and the power working.

To travel time in, you have a neat shape-shifting spaceship. To bring some Dr. Who in this, imagine it to be like the Tardis was originally meant to function, before it got all screwed up and was stuck in police box form forever. The inside is basically just a high functioning space ship that can manipulate space to change time, or something. We're all from a time before space travel, so who actually knows.

Your character is going to be from a renowned period in history, or in the future. Get creative. Basically, our goal is to travel through time, and to other worlds, to find and bring justice to those who abused time travel.

Anyways, get ready to climb into the ship, and put on your best 80s clothes. And by 80s clothes, I mean 80 AD. So grab some cloth and make a quick toga. Let's go!

Rules:
PKMN.NET rules should be followed at all times.
No powerplaying. Don't control other people's characters without permission. Certain instances are alright, but if you're not sure where powerplaying is or isn't okay, just don't do it at all to be safe.
No god moding. While you have ray guns and fun stuff like that, John Doe from 2010 probably won't be having the best aim until he gets better.
Please write in third person.

Unrules:
Get creative! Love WWII? Play a soldier. Like Sci-Fi? Make your own alien race. I'll only stop you if it gets super crazy. Within the course of the roleplay, remember, time can get messy, so don't worry too much about accuracy.
Don't be afraid to take the plot places. As long as our characters get work done in a somewhat timely manner, the professor doesn't care... or know. Feel free to goof around and make things happen.
Not experienced? I don't really care! Just follow the rules, and at least type at the level that a 13 year old could type at, and be willing to improve.
Character count is up to you, but it would be great if you focused on one.
Questions? Message me!

Wayleon North - 23rd century - Played by echo
Taken from just after the human race made contact with the Vasu, the first alien race ever encountered. Looks like a mix between an anime character and a sculpture, and kind of cocky.
Damien Delacroix - 1980s - Played by Dana
Your stereotypical hair metal 80s guy, complete with teased hair and a cigarette addiction. A fairly popular guy who vanished before his chance to make it big.
Clipper (Genertically Modified Crow) - 22nd century - Played by Dana
Caw! Caw! No really, he's just a really smart crow that's trained in spying and warfare. Despite being able to speak in human tongues, he'll stick peck your eyes out.
Lucille Lovell - 17th century - Played by Chloe
An rather surreptitious grown-up orphan, who knows more than her fair share of street smarts. Scrawny, pale, and generally unkempt.

My Character:

Name: Wayleon North (Leon)
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Time Period: 23rd century
Description: Wayleon is a pretty normal looking kid from the mid 2200s. Plastic surgery to achieve your ideal look is normal at this time, so he's just about six feet tall, with a thin but muscular build. His hair is a dark amber color, and “naturally” flows out of his head in a soft spike-ball style. His teeth are perfectly white and straight, his skin is slightly tanned, and his eyes are a glassy blue.
On the day he was frozen, he was wearing a black leather jacket, with a black skull-and-crossbones shirt underneath. He was also wearing purposefully tattered fitted jeans, complete with black boots.
Personality: Leon can get a bit cocky at times, but it's just because he's totally confident in himself. He loves looking at himself, as he crafted himself to be exactly the way that he wanted to be. However, despite his strong look, Leon's muscles are just for show. He is more of a musician, despite the fact that he's just about average at any instrument that he tries to play. He enjoys hyping himself up to be better than he is in that aspect, but in reality, he has yet to be able to play a holophone well.
History: Wayleon was born into an upper middle class family, that was able to pay to give him the operations that he wanted, as well as being able to afford being genetically modified to keep the family diseases at bay, and be born with a naturally beautiful face while he was at it. His upbringing was pretty normal, and he never stood out much from the rest of the students in his area. When the Earth contacted the Vasu, he mysteriously vanished during all of the hype and celebrations.
Notes:
Duke of Buckingham = Mr. Moustache
Likes Pulchra
Fears Ez
Had basic martial arts training for 5 years in childhood

i desperately need to go to bed so i can't quite complete this but please save me a spot!! time travel is so important to me omg dfmdf

Name: Damien Delacroix
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Time Period: 1980s (1986, to be exact)
Description: Damien is a full 80's hair metal rocker, and he works hard to look the part. Tall and thin, His face is roundish with a pair thin lips, and a rather broad nose, as well as a pair of blueish-green eyes and a bright smile he is very proud of. The crown jewel of his appearance, though, is his long, curly blond hair he spends far too much time teasing out into a fluffy mess. Outfit wise, he was frozen whilst wearing his favorite faded black Rolling Stones shirt and a pair of rather tight black leather pants covering his long legs, along with high-heeled black boots and multiple bangles and armbands. He wears eyeliner and a thin layer of lipstick, and has been mistaken for a woman more than once, which thankfully never offends him.
Personality: A charming, intelliegent young man, Damien tends to radiate positive energy and knows how to get people excited and ready to rock. Fully embracing the charismatic rockstar persona he has built up for himself, he is boisterous and eager to convert anyone he meets into a fan.  He is quite flirtatious, known for always getting the most groupies among any of his bandmates. However, for as friendly as he appears, he is highly vain and a bundle of other issues. He can become quite aggressive, and downright violent; his old friends used to call him "Damien the Demon" for being ejected from more than one bar for causing a brawl. Damien tries to keep a smile on as much as he can, but he tends to slip into bouts of jittery nervousness, especially if he hasn't had a cigarette in a while. He tries to chose his friendly carefully, evaluating which allies would produce the most benefits. He sees himself as a born leader, and often butts heads with anyone who tries to steal what he has labeled as his spotlight
History: Back in 1986 Damien was the lead singer of a quasi-popular hair band called Red Widöw. Started in Boston and migrated to California, him and his band had been spending the last two years trying to get a foothold on L.A.'s Sunset Strip, convinced they were the next big band and that by the end of the year they'd be playing with the big boys for sure. They had a rather big show coming up one night, but, mysteriously, Damien vanished and never showed up for rehearsal.
Other: Painfully addicted to smoking. Feels it gives his loud, screechy singing voice a nice rasp.

This could quite possibly be the best idea for an RP that I have ever heard.

For our characters can we take historical people (like people who were supposed to be assassinated or something? I'm thinking George Villiers). If not though I'll make someone up, no worries. It's just that I've studied George Villiers extensively and I know a lot about him and I think it would be a fun idea. I'll have another character to play alongside him too though :-)

I'll do the form for my secondary character today and think about Villiers after you reply.

So i take it the only limits for aliens are that they're humanoid in body shape? Since i'm assuming that the technology would exist that could disguise them as humans or at least enough so that you don't get crys of demon?

Oh, wow, this it a great idea for an rp. I don't really have time to think of a character today, but could you save me a spot? I'd love to join.

Hey guys! Thanks for the interest!

Chloe: I don't know a lot about him, but sure! He would have needed to already be dead, or taken in such a way that would make people believe he was dead, however. Nothing that would change the course of time, since the professor's goal was to avoid that whole thing!

Opal: if you can find a way to disguise it as a human/animal, that's fine. If your character is a an alien that looks like a leopard, for example, it should work on its leopard impressions and walk on all fours, if the aliens species has not yet been discovered.

Take your time with developing your characters guys! I have a PACKED weekend so all of your requests to reserve a form have been noted.

Name: Lucille Lovell
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Time Period: 17th Century (vanished 1642)
Description: Lucille lived on the mean streets of 1600s London, she's pretty by 1600s standards with a pale face, plump lips and a small gap between her two front teeth which are white but only because she never gets enough to eat - so there really isn't much plaque for them - she's rather scrawny but has some extra fat around her middle (from childbirth). She smells of raw meat and faintly of sewage from the Thames. She has thick brown hair which is kept in a loose updo at the back of her head. She wears a yellow maid's dress that she stole a couple of weeks before she vanished. She has deep brown eyes.
Personality: She knows how to handle herself in an argument and is very good at pick-pocketing, stealing, going unnoticed and self defence, talents she got from her time in London. She's not quick to trust and is more likely plotting an escape route than her reply to whatever question she may have been asked. With friends she is plucky and cheeky and not quick to answer but very unforgiving. She loves children and tends to be quite modest. No one is ever sure what she's REALLY planning to do.
History: Her parents both died of a disease when Lucille was 17. Lucille was forced onto the streets and did sexual favours for money until she fell pregnant (this is where her extra fat around her middle comes from), when she had the baby she named it Nathaniel and realised that she really wanted a family but Nathaniel died before he was one year old. She fell pregnant for a second time when she was 21 and had another boy named John. He died within a week of birth. In the weeks before she disappeared, tension within Britain was rising and there was a notorious mob in London who had connections to a Common named John Pym, thinking that she may earn some money by joining it, Lucille searched for the mob with her friend (and father of her second child) James St. John but vanished whilst James was at a tavern one evening...
Other: Lucille's speech will be in purple

Name: George Villiers (Likes to be referred to as Buckingham as he was the Duke of Buckingham)
Gender: Male
Age: 35
Time Period: 17th Century (vanished 1628)
Description: Silky black hair frames his face which is adorned by a fine moustache and a small beard his face is quite pale and he is quite slender in physique. He has little muscle but good posture. He usually wears fine clothing however on the night he vanished he had been dressed up as a peasant in a feeble attempt to go unnoticed. He is used to life in the lap of luxury so he seemed uncomfortable in peasant clothes. He was very rich and could afford cologne which he wears a lot of.
Personality: He is quite clumsy and often misjudges things. He is quite proud and very manipulative. His sexuality is questionable (he has homosexual tendencies). Wearing peasants clothes made him feel like a fish out of water and he is prone to culture shock. He is also stubborn.
History: He was born to a wealthy family and quickly found his way into a position as James I's favourite courtier. He was used to high society and large banquets very often. He was given control to many fleets of ships and matters of foreign affairs. He is good at wrapping people around his finger as he did with both King James and King Charles. In 1628, on the night of his alleged assassination he wore peasants clothes to a tavern in Portsmouth. Upon sight of a person who he suspected may want to kill him, he slipped away and disappeared. His assassin, John Felton stabbed a man who he thought to be Villiers and was hung for the assassination. Everyone really believed that Felton had killed Villiers and thus no one knew of his disappearance.
Other: Villiers' speech will be in teal.

hehe this is exciting :-)

How funny, my brother was watching Doctor Who and is now.

Name: James Green
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Time Period: WWII (Vanished 1942)
Description: James lived in Hawaii during the time when WWII was going on, so his skin is naturally tanned. His eyes are a deep, stormy blue, a trait that many in his family shared. He's 5'11" and 192 pounds, and is solidly built. James' hair is a jet black, uncombed, dusty and dirty from being on the front lines. He's still wearing his soldier's uniform from fighting in the war.
Personality: James is mostly quiet, but is a good soldier, so to speak. He follows orders mostly, only straying from command when it was necessary. James is very polite to most and believes in discipline and honor. Physically, he's average, but mentally, he's very smart and has a strong will. While most of the other soldiers that were on his side were very arrogant, James was and still is very modest.
History: James' upbringing was normal, he lived on the West coast of California until 1933, when his dad enlisted into the Navy and he was stationed in Hawaii, specifically, Pearl Harbor. In 1941, Pearl Harbor was bombed and Both of James' parents were killed, James swore to take his father's place in the war. In 1942, in the jungles of Japan, the Japanese ambushed his squad and James mysteriously disappeared in the chaos.
Other: James loves animals.

Damien's form is done! And also here's my second character, a more minor one. Hopefully this will be okay, tell me if it doesn't work or something! If aliens are okay, surely something like this isn't too much of a reach...?

Name: Subject #76, or, Clipper
Gender: Male
Species: Genetically Modified Crow
Age: 4
Time Period: 22th century
Description: Clipper is, well, a crow. A medium sized, black-feathered, crow. About a foot and a half tall, two wings, beak, small black eyes. He just happens to have been part of the government's attempt to genetically modify animals into intelligent soldiers, and his brain is even more cunning than the average crow's. He wears a metal cuff like device around his neck that attaches into his head, allowing him to speak via transfer of thought waves into a small speaker on the cuff. A small red light on the device pulsates in time with his words. He also has a small silver ring on his left leg, marked with '76'.
Personality: Trained to be a fast spy and attacker on the frontlines, Clip is a loyal and brave bird. His enhanced intelligence allows him to keep up with any human conversations with ease, and he grows excited when humans wish to talk with him. He loves humans, really, they fascinate him. Sometimes he can be a bit ornery, and if he doesn't like someone he isn't afraid to peak at their fingers when they get too close.  Since he is by all means still an animal, he tends to lapse into crow-like mannerisms pretty often, including being enamored with shiny objects and cawing loudly.
History: At the beginnings of the 22nd century world governments thought hard for new weaponry to better assist in war, and thus turned to rapidly developing science for help. The plan was hatched to genetically modify already intelligent animals to speak and be even smarter, and thus be trained to deal with militant operations the average carrier pigeon could never handle. Dogs, pigs, dolphins, monkeys, raccoons, crows, and other animals were brought in and excessively tested on. Clip was one of the earlier subjects to be a success, but was only in a few practice "battles" before he was sent on a flight and vanished.
Other: loves being petted on his feathery tummy. also, his speech will be italicized in quotes to emphasize the fact his voice doesn't come out of his mouth

This sounds great, but if I make up my own alien race do I add another bit on my form describing the race or do I just describe the individual character?

Cody: A short little bio about the alien race would be neat, but you can just throw it in the history section. Just be good at articulating what your character is like, and we can all probably go off the assumption that the rest of his species will look somewhat similar!

Dana: Neat, I like your genetically modified crow idea! Damien's form is cool too, welcome to the team.

Blaziken: Bueno, you're in.

Chloe: Both are great, welcome aboard!

Anyone lurking: Still room for more!

Name: Pulchra Metella Caesina
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Time Period: Ancient Rome - High Empire
Description: Pulchra is of average height for the Roman female, at 4'11.  She has blonde hair which curls very slightly at the bottom, though this is not often noticeable as it is braided and tied into a chignon at the back.  She has very dark, narrow eyes and pale skin.  She wears the traditional woolen Stola (Roman Overdress) without dye, though the Palla (shawl) is dyed indigo and fastened with a brooch bearing her family seal on it. She wears less cosmetics than many Roman women, but wears kohl in overabundance, often making herself look like she's been assualted by a panda.
Personality: Pulchra is naturally submissive and eager to please, which often leads to her being placed into situations that she does not want to be in.  In spite of this, she has somewhat of a bad tempered disposition, which has more than once lead to her disgracing herself in front of close family members.  She does not particularly enjoy gossip, and more than once has had to force herself to use the public baths, as she does not like intrusions of her own nor anyone else's privacy.
History:  The fourth daughter of Pulchrus and Metella Caesina, Pulchra is the youngest of four siblings, leaving her at the mercy of her father's anger after both Metella and the final son died in childbirth.  As such, she is betrothed to the youngest son of a hoary, though rich, family near Sicily with a history of bearing males in hopes that they might carry on the line by bearing a son - something that all of her older sisters failed to do. Unwilling to stay so far from Tuscany, and upset at the thought of being forced to bear a child so soon, Pulchra disappeared mere nights after being found trying to take back her dowry.

Yay! I'm kinda a nerd when it comes to making my own species so I hope you don't mind what I put down.

Name: Garath of house Magrold
Species: Sulenn
Gender: Male
Age: 12 (In earth years he is 36)
Time Period: Late 36th century.
Description: Your average Sulenn is around 7ft tall, humanoid with pale skin. A Sulenn head is relatively the same shape as a human head with a chin that sticks out noticeably from their heads. The facial features are where the main distinguishing features of a Sulenn are, they have no visible ears or nose yet they can still hear and smell, there lips are thin and colorless so when they close their mouth you can barely locate it, they have one thin single color eye which takes up the same space as normal human eyes, the eye color of a Sulenn changes shade with their emotions. Most Sulenn have no hair at all except those who live in the extremes of their planet. Garath is pretty much your average Sulenn with an ocean blue eye. The clothes Garath was wearing on the day of his disappearance was some ceremonial armor from his house made of overlapping plates of dull blue metal, but under this he wore some earth trousers and a polo shirt. (Earth clothes considered disrespectful by Sulenn royalty)
Personality: Being the seventh son of the lord of house Magrold Garath is used to being overlooked while others are praised this has led to him trying too hard to get noticed by important people and also trying to make lesser people feel appreciated, this makes him appear positive and willing in public, however in private or around trusted people he is laid back and lazy. He always seems slightly angry when talking about his family.
History: Garath was fine with how his parents and brothers mostly ignored him until he was 6 (Earth years 18) when in a bid to get attention and respect he joined the Magrold army when they went to war with their neighbors despite orders that members of the royal family should stay out of combat. Midway through the war he was discovered and sent back home where he got attention, but not really the type he wanted. After this he was given the duty of guarding his four sisters which was just a reason to keep him out of trouble. His life was uneventful until he was 12 (36) and his elder brother was being crowned lord of Magrold and on the day of the coronation Garath went missing.
Other: Has a katana made of black Sulenn steel.

Species bio/Major history: The home planet of the Sulenn, called Sul, is a planet with many different extremes which is very slowly dying, and it has three major factions, the Dul, the Dol and the Demell, each made out of many houses. The technology of Sul is highly advanced in the field of space travel and exploration, but for such a warlike species their military technology is stuck with in a strange mix of a few advanced gun and a lot medieval style weapons and armor. When the Sulenns and Humanity first met the Dul and the Dol thought that human would be easy enough to subdue and conquer. However, due to the Sulenns lack of major gun weapons, the use of a feudal system and the fact that Sulenns breed and age slowly meant that they quickly got overwhelmed. In the end the Demell sent diplomats to earth and made a treaty that not only created an uneasy peace between the Sulenns and Humanity, but also allowed the Demell to set up eight houses in the other factions, four in Dol and four in Dul. One of the houses set up Dul was house Magrold placed in a lava filled extreme northern position.

Should I change anything?

Lalice: Whee! An ancient character! You're in.

Start date should be anywhere from this week to this weekend, just so we can try to get a few others in. I'm not planning to keep registration open during the course of the role play (coherence reasons and all), so I want to get everyone who thinks they'd like to play in.

The whole thing with the Doctor Who series is all spanish to me, mainly because my brother has deemed it his fandom and won't let me watch it (i'm too afraid of him to go against that.), so if I mess up, please say so and i'll correct the mistake. I think I have some of the basics (yes, I know what the tardis is), so if we go more in depth into the plot of the series, i'll need a but of help. Just a heads up.

Also, I like echo's description of my character in the leading post.

Don't worry! It's not very Dr. Who at all, and this is original. I won't deny that some of the influence was taken from the show (travelling back in time, and avoiding disaster and stuff), but you will be able to totally understand what's going on in this role play without prior knowledge of Dr. Who. Basically the only real allegory to worry about is the comparison of the TARDIS to their spaceship, which if some people in this role play don't understand:

Basically, depending on where we land, the space ship won't look exactly like a space ship. Let's say we land in Ancient Rome: It might end up looking like a nondescript sculpture. If we land in the forest, maybe it would be disguised as a giant tree. Something that can blend in with the setting, so there's not just a giant ship sitting around.

Don't yet have a name for the species of alien (or their home planet), but that's a small detail (suggestions are welcome)

Species Name- Merantti
Home Planet- Sietynas (Atmospheric composition much like Earth's. Planet consists of 90% water, with one very large land mass, and many scattered islands. Approximately 100th of the size of Earth)

Approximately human in proportions and anatomy, although usually more streamlined in build. Skin is covered in dark scales, which contain specialised pigment cells (much like particular cephalopods of Earth), allowing them to change color both to express emotion, and to blend into their surroundings. The scales are primarily diamond shaped, but areas requiring fine control (palm and fingers of hand, face and feet) are hexagonal in shape, and more flexible. The diamond shaped scales are rigid, and sharp edged. Going along the grain, they are smooth to the touch. Going against the grain, you may well end up with sliced fingers.
When this race is afraid, or agitated, the scales raise into an upright position, and lose their color changing properties. It is not considered wise to touch them when they are in this state.

This race are primarily aquatic, although they can manage well living terrestrially. They do not have gills. Instead, they have an increased lung capacity, allowing them to hold their breaths for a minimum of ten minutes. Both hands and feet are webbed, and the feet are about half the length again of a human foot. However, this extra length is primarily because of their extended toe structure. The toes are webbed, making the foot strongly resemble a 'flipper' from the 21st century.

Being primarily aquatic, this race has evolved to see well in low light conditions. They have large vertically slit pupils, with large irises in either gold, violet, or grey. Blue and green are uncommon, but not unheard of. The scelara are typically black.

They are obligate carnivores, meaning that their teeth are for the most part, designed to shred meat. However, they do have a jaw structure that allowed them to grind bones as a source of calcium.

This species is usually considered cold blooded, and rapid temperature changes can make them ill. In colder conditions, they can put their bodies into statis, helping to prevent damage. Proper temperature control is required for optimum health. It should also be noted that this species ages at approximately a fifth of the human rate.

Just pretend that that part is a file on the species. anyway...

Name: Ra Xiel (Usually mispronounced as Rachel by humans, which is fine for this particular endeavor. [the X is usually pronounced as a K, making the actual pronunciation something like Ra Ki-el. However, if she is familiar with the one referring to her, it's pronounced as Ra Zi-El. Complicated alien familiarity language.])
Gender: Female
Age: Equates to 18.
Time Period: Early 36th century.
Description: Like most of her species, Ra Xiel is humanoid in shape. She is approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall, and covered in dark blue scales. Her irises are grey, and she has spiraling clan marks on her left cheek.
On arrival, she is wearing simple clothing, native to her planet. It is made of thin leather, and can vary in purpose. When Ra Xiel arrives, she is wearing what would equate to a singlet and pants on Earth. She is also wearing a 'breast plate', in the form of a circular piece of thicker leather that goes over her neck to rest on her shoulders. This is attached to two rectangular pieces (one on the front, one on the back), which are held together by two strips of corded leather on each side.
After waking up (and recovering from the effects of being frozen), she will be equipped with a collar like device that changes how people perceive her. However, it only changes the visual perception. If someone were to touch her, she would feel scaled.

When the camouflage collar is active, Ra Xiel is the same height, but appears as a dark skinned young woman, with dark brown hair. She still has the grey eyes and the clan marks, although the latter just look like tattoos.
Personality: Ra Xiel is blunt and honest, but she does understand the uses of subtlety. That said, sometimes it's hard to be subtle when you're a carnivorous, reptilian humanoid. Sometimes, when she loses patience with somebody, she will bear her teeth and snarl quietly.
She comes across as mildly superstitious, although since her culture is based on the idea that there are deities in everything, this isn't surprising.

Sometimes, Ra Xiel can be very curious, eager to learn more about this new world. Other times, her focus is purely on the mission at hand (or getting warm). She also tends to be rather patient, except in the case of liars and oath breakers.
History: Ra Xiel originated from a clan in the tropical region of Sietynas (where the majority of the smaller islands can be found). Her clan were usually considered the peacekeepers of the region. For most of her adolescence (as is normal for Merantti, as they're considered adults when they hit adolescence, as there is no 'teenager' stage), Ra Xiel was helping to prevent wars between neighboring clans, and helping to maintain the laws of the region.
When she was taken from her timeline, it was the eve before a large battle between two clans, in which Ra Xiel, and many members of her clan would have died in the battle, failing to prevent war. It would be best if Ra Xiel is not informed of this fact.
Other: When she's baring her teeth, they appear through the perception filter as they are. Also, being cold blooded, temperatures too low can make her sluggish, and ill if it persists.

Alright, guess I'll use a character I used for a sci-fi/fantasy (with more of an empathizes on fantasy) rp I was in years ago. I'll have to re-work her history quite a bit, but hopefully it'll work for this.

Name: Sidia Kaarme

Gender: Female

Age:  Physically equivalent to around 20, actually much older. Tells people she's 20 to keep things simple

Time Period: Somewhere between the 28th and 29th century

Species: (Still thinking of a name)

Description: Sidia's species varies greatly depending on location, however, all members share a few traits. They are all humanoid, all have horns, large wings and tails, both of which are covered in scales, most have claws on their fingers and toes, and some have human-like hair, depending on location. One of the major ways they vary is in variety of habitat and family specific traits. The colours of the species skin and scales often match that of their surroundings. They also commonly have some sort of adaptation to help them survive in their specific environment, for example, those living in or near water may have gills, those living in underground settlements may have bio-luminescence or echo-location, ect. Another thing to note about them is that they are not the only major species on their planet, or even the most common, in fact, compared to the planets other major species, they are actually quite rare. This is mostly due to their long life span. They generally prefer to keep to themselves, rarely living in cities, usually living alone or in small families. Compared to the other major species, they are not very technologically advanced due to their general isolation, however they are intelligent enough to learn to use the other species technology if they need to.

Sidia herself is a member of a family of assassins. They live closer to the north, so they have light blue, almost white skin. They also adapted a mild shape-shifting trait, allowing them to diminish their distinguishing features, their horns, wings, and tails, to easily hide them and disguise themselves as a member of the planets other major species. Sidia has light blue skin, blue eyes, long hair that is a slightly darker shade of light blue, large wings that are the same colour as her skin and have dark blue membranes, a tail that is also the same colour as her skin that ends with a light gray trapezoid shaped blade on both sides, making it look like a hexagon as a whole, long, slightly curvy light grey horns, and white claws. On the day she disappeared she was wearing a black, stylized top that was made of one long strip of fabric that was wrapped around into something similar to a tank top, sewn together, then had two long slits cut into it for her wings and another, shorter slit for her tail, and had hidden zippers placed in the slits for when she needed to hide her wings and tail, which at the time she was hiding, grey pants, and black, plain looking boots, and grey gloves. She also wore a belt with two sheaths that held two crystal-shaped knives and a small pouch that held other small weapons and some poisons and medicines. Her hair was braided and pined back in a way that it would cover her diminished horns. When she disappeared, she was on Earth, disguised as a human.

Personality: While on the job, Sidia is serious and determined. She won't let anything get in her way if she can help it. However, when she's off duty, she is actually quite friendly and peaceful, like most of her species. She is also very adaptable and can think on her feet, also like most of her species. Another few traits she shares with most of her species, she is quiet and often prefers to be alone, and she only lets herself get really close to members of her own family, so she often seems a little cold and untrusting of others, even if she is friends with them.

History: Sidia was an assassin, like the rest of her family. Because of their occupation, they lived close to a city, unlike most of their species. Their own species had little use for assassins, they were usually peaceful among each other, however, the planets other major species were often in conflict with each other, so they often made use of any assassins they could find. Sidia had become rather famous in her own city, and infamous in that city's enemies. She had pulled many difficult jobs and her skill was being recognized. Because of her holding rival cities back by killing important leaders and researchers and taking any information on technological advancements she could find, her city was the first to perfect space travel with a warp drive and discover life on other planets. The planet in question, Earth. With this new planet discovered, the first thought on the minds of the leaders was "how do we concur this new planet?" Their answer? Send Sidia to assassinate their leaders and send them a message. She had already gotten them this far, right? Once there, she lasted about a week before she lost contact with her home planet. After her disappearance, the leaders of her city gathered the major cities around the planet and planed an attack on Earth. It didn't last long, however. The other members of Sidia's species had no interest in attacking Earth or avenging her supposed death, as they were a peaceful species and didn't want to stir up conflict for little reason. The planets other major species were far weaker then Sidia's species, and also weaker then the Humans, and though they had advanced weaponry, the Humans had more advanced weaponry. The war was soon lost and a retreat was necessary. However, the Humans wouldn't simply let this offence go. The Humans followed them back to their home planet and started their own attack. However, this is when Sidia's species joined the battle, taking any advanced weaponry they could find and fighting to defend their home from the hostile intruders. They're addition added enough firepower to force the Humans to retreat. The war ended with a peace-treaty, though relations were never too stable.

Sorry for the wall. Hope this is okay. What do you think? It's getting pretty late, so I'll stop and make any changes tomorrow. Also, if anyone has any name suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

Ah, a historical character. I shall enjoy this.

Name: Eztli Coyotl (or 'Coyote', pronounced 'kō-YO-te': the Spanish pronunciation)
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Time Period: Early 1500's

Description: Tan skin from time spent in the sun, jet black hair that goes down to his shoulders, and steel gray eyes. Eztli is an Aztec Jaguar Warrior whose name translates to "Blood Coyote". He was born to a full moon in a red sky, and his name is fitting of his personality. Eztli stands at 6' 5" and has a muscular build from years of battle. His voice is deep and gravely due to injury and his body is covered in scars from various cuts, blunt force trauma, and other damage sustained. Though tall, he is agile and quick. He stalks his prey under cover of darkness and shadow, like his namesake, and strikes with the speed and fury of a jaguar. In combat, he wears the traditional dress of his "military" ranking: the skin of a Jaguar draped over ebony breastplate. The head of the jaguar skin is fitted like a helmet, with the face peering out from the jaguar's mouth. Eztli doesn't smile much: his face is often locked in a stern mood fitting of one who serves in armed forces. His smile is more of a snarl, with beared teeth and the corners of his mouth raised.

Personality: Eztli isn't a gentle man. He has a strong thirst for battle and war, though he isn't a psychopath bend on killing everything in the room. Like all Jaguar Warriors, he prefers capturing the enemy over outright killing. He is "cold" only due to his position in his society: law enforcement and a protector of his people. Eztli knows only the duty of a soldier, only the life of a hunter of men. Experience in battle has taught him some natural healing remedies, a good deal of first aid (splinting a broken limb, relocating a dislocated shoulder/knee, etc.) which he will gladly put to use on himself and fellows. There is a strong sense of patriotism in this one. The few moments he hasn't been serving, such as during festivals, he enjoys the sports of his culture as well as singing. Many have said of his singing as "terrifying, yet a sight to behold. Both frightening and beautiful". Duty and recreation aside, Eztli is known among his people as quick to anger and having a bloodlust when fighting. He will stalk enemies if there is cover and he will charge with zeal when there isn't. Many have fallen to him, and many more have been captured by this seasoned veteran. He has a tendancy to scream very loudly when furious, often threats or heated words.

History: As a child, Eztli worked in the fields with his father and other family. He learned some woodworking: crafting weapons, shields, and some simple tools. War training at the age of 17 and he captured his first enemy soldier at the age of 19. He would later capture five more enemy soldiers when he caught them off guard. He joined the Jaguar warrior "devision" (if you can call it that; there is probably a more fitting term) afterward and honed his skills as a warrior and fighter. Not much else has happened in his life: some relationships that started and ended, friends made and lost. His position in the "military" allowed him to dine with nobles and be treated with high respect. Eztli was also feared, and often called upon to simply approach unruly citizens to quell possible crimes or fighting.

Other: Carried an obsidian knife with him at all times as a safety measure. He carries the standard weaponry when in battle: mostly stuff with pieces of obsidian sticking out or blunt weapons. Also, he's still having trouble understanding English idioms/phrases.

Is convinced Sidia is Itzpapalotl, a winged skeletal godddess and ruler of the plane humans come from.
Refers to Garath as "shiny man".

Oops, sorry about that. Fixed it. I wasn't too sure where I should place it on the timeline, so if I picked a bad time I'll change it. Feel free to tell me if there are any other issues. I was kind of worried I made her too significant to her planets history, but it was one of those cases where you start something and then your ideas start to flow and your story begins to write itself. I'll rewrite it if you want, I don't mind.

I'll post saying you're accepted when you are as such, but for now, we gotta get the ball rolling. If any stragglers want to join at this point, I'd get in really quick as joining is going to close within the next few posts.

If you go on hiatus, or go through writers block, and miss a ton of the story, please message me. It's my duty as the creator of this role play to keep you filled in, and I'll try to give you the best summary that I can.))

Wayleon could hear the professor speaking, and was desperately trying to focus on what she was saying. His head was spinning faster than a top, however. He wasn't home anymore, he was in a totally different place... and the meds she put him on were very powerful. Wayleon groaned as he adverted his eyes from the bright light of the outdoors.

The professor clasped her hands together in front of her, and looked at the characters surrounding her. “Now, look to your right.”

Wayleon looked to his right. Nobody was there. He probably normally would have been able to sense their lack of presence, but his brain was far too scrambled to discern that.

“Look to your left.”

Wayleon looked to his left. A huge tan man, wearing the skin of a jaguar, was standing next to him. Walyeon's eyes widened, not exactly in the mood to speak to a man that was just short of a foot taller than him. He whipped his head back to looking at the professor.

“These are your new allies. Some of them may seem odd, unfamiliar, and yes, some of them aren't even human.” Wayleon peeked back to his left, wondering if that frightening, scarred creature was even a real man. He shuddered, wondering where he was from. A post-apocalyptic future? Way back in the past? Wayleon, again, straightened his gaze back to the professor.

“We have a ship, all set for your usage. No, not a sea ship. Think of it as a sea ship that can sail through the sky. But not a plane. Uh, you'll see it tomorrow, I guess,” the professor stuttered, folding her arms. Wayleon knew exactly what she was talking about, but from some of the others he had taken a glimpse of, the explanation was necessary. “Now, let me show you about...” she went on, walking past the window, and towards a door that opened upon sensing her motion. She took a left down a hallway, where there were several doors. She opened one up, revealing a gigantic white room. It certainly looked like a re purposed lab, but there was a counter, with human-shaped targets in the distance.

Wayleon looked to his side, and saw a variety of guns. Some of them looked totally foreign to him, but others looked like old, historic pieces of weaponry. He was shocked. He had never held a gun before, but he had always been fascinated with them!“Don't get too excited about shooting each other with these. The ray guns use low-grade burning light beams, and the older guns just have rubber bullets. Just for target practice.”  Wayleon adverted his gaze from the guns, having a feeling that the professor was noting his interest in them.

They walked out of that room, and into the room next door. This one was fairly similar in bleakness to the other one, except for the floor was soft, padded mats. Swords, daggers, maces, and other melee weaponry were hung again the walls. “Once again, these are dulled to ensure you don't get upset and kill each other...” the professor said, pausing for a moment to allow everyone to look around the room.

The professor walked out of the room, and waited for the rest of the group to follow. She pointed her hand down a row of motion-sensing doors. “Those are all your rooms. They're complete with a bed and a bathroom. The last room on the right at the end of this hallway is the washroom. Your room will have a plaque on the door indicating your name. I know you only came here with one outfit, and for sanitation reasons, I've provided you all with similar outfits to change into in your bureaus.” The professor clapped her hands again, as a conclusion to the tour.

“I'm going to give you all some time to socialize today, but tomorrow, your first mission will begin. Don't worry, I'll start you off with something fairly easy. Just, regardless, try not to botch it...” She sighed, beginning to walk towards the lab. “Please behave, you're all going to need each other in the coming months...”

Months?! Wayleon thought, looking around. I want to go home now! What the hell! he thought, feeling whatever tranquilizer he was put on starting to wear off. He definitely felt like the professor could have introduced them to this new world a little better! Wayleon's eyes darted around the room. Seriously, some of the... organisms... in the room weren't even human! There was a crow, two weird humanoid-type... things. Wayleon had to assume they were from space.

He knew that the adjustment was going to be strange, but Wayleon knew that he was stuck here. If time was in shambles, he would need to fix it before he could even think of returning, and seeing his family. Wayleon took in a deep breath, definitely letting the calming drugs help him talk.

“Hey, my name is Leon, Wayleon in full. I'm from the year 2253. I'm from New York state in America... that's, uh, planet Earth.”

((ahhhh yaaaaaay!))

Lucille listened intently to what the professor was saying, the concepts that she described were strange and hard to comprehend. Lucille looked around the room as the professor said to, there were people all over and some that didn't seem to be people at all. Standing by her side was a man with black hair and a moustache, he looked slightly worried by his surroundings. He was wearing peasant clothes similar to those of the average London man. He was intriguing, his hair and face and manner said 'not peasant' but he was dressed like one.

George Villiers regarded the peasant next to him with the same look of curiosity that she gave him. How had they both gotten here. He hoped she knew who he was. He was George Villiers, the Duke of Buckingham. He knew neither of the pair of the had any idea what was going on, it was quite scary. Even the room was strange and unwanted, it was white and way too clean. It all felt so unnatural. And who had let that crow into the room? Villiers didn't like it at all. He wished to back at home, with King Charles and his vast wealth which certainly hadn't followed him here. He felt like the peasant he was dressed as.

The other people in the room were daunting, they all wore unfamiliar clothes and moved in unfamiliar ways. Lucille observed the others and the mysterious peasant stranger as the professor lead them into other rooms containing guns and the like. The instructions given were beginning to go over her head. Finally, Lucille heard the professor say "Please behave, you're all going to need each other in the coming months..." then she left the room and one of the unfamiliar strangers stepped forwards and introduced himself, Leon was his name. He said he had come from the year 2253 - Lucille's head was spinning with all the new information. A flying ship. Tangled time. People from different times. She wanted to lie down.

"My name is George Villiers, Duke of Buckingham. I demand to be sent home right now!" the stranger burst out. Lucille looked at him surprised. The Duke of Buckingham? He'd been assassinated when she was younger. Puzzled, she stopped and regarded the rest of the room. No one else was speaking, she cleared her throat "Umm... my name is Lucille. Lucille Lovell. You can call me Luce if you want. I'm from... we're from London, England, Planet Earth... from the 1600s." She looked at Villiers, he was looking at her too. The pair of them, she imagined, would stick together. Villiers, after all, seemed to be going through culture shock.

Despite the unfamiliarity of it all, she liked her new surroundings, they were strange and would take a while to get used to, but they beat living in London and having to scrounge and steal just to live. Time travel, she thought, what a future.

Pulchra blinked, entirely confused by everything around her.  The 'guns' - as The Professor had called them – might as well have been completely alien to her; saying that, it wasn’t just the ‘guns’ that were alien.  Everything was alien to her: she understood the language, just about, from her father’s talks with business partners from Brittania, overseas, but she was not at all looking forward to having to try to speak it.  She wasn’t looking forward to anything, really.

Sweat beaded on her neck as The Professor motioned to a hallway of strange doors that Pulchra was certain she had never seen before.  She relaxed slightly when The Professor left, glad not to be on the receiving end of any further orders.  This did not last, for one of the people in the strange group stepped forwards.  Pulchra stared at him, mouth growing dry.   She had gathered – from what The Professor had said, and everything around her – that time wasn’t quite as it should be, and she had seen skulls and crossbones before.

That is – she had seen skulls and bones separate from each other in a Gladiator Pit, and was now frantically trying to figure out whether the man was an inordinately indiscreet threat, or just very undignified.  As he said his name, Pulchra decided to go for the latter, or possibly something completely different; she thought, perhaps, after looking ‘Wayleon’ over, that it was just custom where he was from.

Still. ‘Wayleon. Leon’.   He certainly sounded dangerous from his name, which was entirely too similar to ‘Leonis’ for Pulchra’s liking.  She didn’t particularly like the idea of associating with a boy who was named for a lion.  She shifted back slightly as the boy said which year he was from.  This was very, very uncomfortable for her.  And ‘New York State in America’ could have been describing a star in the sky for all Pulchra knew, if only the boy hadn’t mentioned Earth.  Pulchra was from Earth, and she’d never heard of America, and she was educated!  She knew of Greece, and Italy, and Britannia, but not of ‘New York State in America’.

And then someone else spoke, calling himself ‘George Villiers’ and then ‘Duke of Buckingham’, and Pulchra could have cried.  Certainly, she could tell from his and the scampy girl’s – ‘Lucille’s’ short manners – that they were both Britons, even if the girl had said ‘London’ rather than ‘Londinium’.  She’d never much cared for Britannia when studying, liking only that they traded for tin – and these people weren’t from anywhere that did that trading.  She looked on them with disdain for a moment before remembering what The Professor had said about getting along.  She averted her stare to the floor.

She took a deep breath and stepped forwards.  “Pulchra Caesina,” she said – and then, drawing from what everyone else had said, tacked a ‘my name is’ onto the end.  She glanced up around her, then looked to the floor again.  She had no idea how to say where she was from in their language, for she didn’t know their numbers.  A part of her wondered whether they might be able to understand if she said it in Roman Numerals, but decided that – in this very modern gathering – they probably wouldn’t, so she settled for saying “Pulchra Caesina” once more for luck before falling definitively silent and drawing her palla further around her shoulders.

Wayleon heard Mr. Mustache introduce himself as the Duke of Buckingham. Clearly, he was a nut. If everyone here was 'so unimportant', like the professor had said, why would he be around? Wayleon held backa  little giggle as he demanded to be sent back. He didn't look like a duke, but he wasn't going to point that one out, for risk of the man losing his temper and assaulting him.

Wayleon looked to his left, and noticed a girl that looked right around his age staring at him. She had deep eyes, and beautiful blonde hair. He met her eyes as she began to say her name. Twice.

"Mysterious!" Wayleon burst in, right after Pulchra said her part. His sensitivity to the drugs was everpresent. Wayleon did think she was pretty cute, and anyways, he could tell that she checked him out for a moment. He decided to take a guess that she was from an ancient time. She's wearing a toga and everything! Wayleon sourced from what he could remember from his history classes. The makeup was also clearly in an ancient style. "You're not gonna say where your from? Maybe... Rome?" He said, leaning in a little. "It really would be killer if you were," he said, attempting to hit on her in a very ungraceful manner.

((One last thing. Jame's thoughts and speech will be in Green (wow, last name, how funny). Continue))

James was completely in shock, but he gave off a facade of icy calmness. What's happened? The last thing I remember, I was fighting the Japanese, but then, this light... he thought. The former soldier watch as the professor explained everything. Most of it was like the japanese the enemy spoke. Then came the melee weapons, something James excelled at, not in strength, but in speed and strategy. Daggers and swords. Something I can use. After that, they were given the rest of the tour. The professor then said, "I'll give to today to socialize. Tomorrow will be your first mission." The professor then said, "We'll start you off easy, but try not to botch it."

The man then left, leaving all these....people? James had no clue what was going on. Most of these characters standing around seemed at least human, with the exception of a couple. He looked round, studying these people-like characters. James recognized some of where they came from, two from London in the 1600's, the colonel times. One was from the early 1500's, Aztec time, this person seemed to be a fighter, standing at about a half foot higher than him. This person seems like a good ally. James noted in his mind. Another came all the way from Roman times. A living fossil. James thought. Then there was another one, Leon, he was called. This Leon person came from this time called 2253. James was from 1942. Strange, this person comes from this future place. James thought.

He had no clue what to do next. Thankfully for him, James wasn't the only one. Leon broke the ice, then George Villiers, who demanded to be sent home. James chuckled in his mind, amused. Doesn't he know that he'll be murdered later? If I were him, i'd be happy to be here and not receiving the 21-gun salute. he thought. Then, this lady, a bit big in the stomach area, Lucille Lovell, her clothing was a bit torn and dusty, like his. Lucille looks like a fighter. James thought, She'll be of use. This George person seems to thing we'll do everything he desires. I'm not under his command, although I should be polite.

The roman woman seemed to be confused at what to do, and how to speak their dialect. He got a name, Pulchra Caesina. Being from gladiator times, James hoped that she'd know at least some self defense. Then Leon, was it? Leon. James decided in his mind, said 'it would be killer if you were'. I seriously doubt Pulchra is a murderer. thought James. I guess I should give my name, but not my rank. For all I know, they could be Japanese.

James spoke, "My name is James Green. I'm from Earth, too. I'm from 1942, World War 2, or at least that's what people are calling it."

Garath was just slightly annoyed as he followed a human into different rooms. He was annoyed because it confused him, he had only been around human diplomats from earth before and they had always been the soul of courtesy. This human on the other hand was giving the group orders and Garath didn't know how to handle taking orders from a human. He was so busy thinking about his current situation that he didn't take time to look at the group he was in, he was so involved in thought that he didn't even look at all the guns and weapons they passed.

“Please behave, you're all going to need each other in the coming months..."

After the human professor said this Garath decided to stop thinking so much and examine the group. He was dismayed to find out that the group was mostly human. Garath decided that he wouldn't function properly in this group and he needed to get away. He remembered that the professor had mentioned that they had a ship, so maybe Garath could somehow take that ship and go back to Sul, but until then he needed to avoid attracting suspicion until he knew he could control the ship. He listened as couple of the humans in the group introduced themselves as Wayleon, Lucille, George, Pulchra and James. On Sul it was considered good manners to give your name to people who gave theirs. So Garath gave a bow as was the custom on Sul, however his bow was very noisy and clunky due to his armor, and he said "I am Garath of house Magrold, I come from the planet known as Sul."

Pulchra regarded Leon coolly, equal parts wishing to show her contempt for the man and not wishing to offend the man for fear of being punished.  He was – at least – educated enough to know of Rome, even if she didn’t know where he was from.  And so, she ignored the ‘killer’ comment that he’d tacked on to the end of his little comment, instead choosing to confirm his remark with just a hint of relief; the people here could understand her, even if she couldn’t communicate with any particular aptness.

“Rome,” she repeated with – she hoped – enough firmness to confirm that yes, she was from Rome.  She turned from Leon when another person spoke.

It was another person with a name she’d never heard, and she shifted slightly on the spot when he said it.  ‘James’, apparently.  She shifted on the spot.  He’d mentioned a war.  Now, suffice to say it was obvious that Pulchra did not enjoy the idea of war, but she was further disgruntled by the fact that even in a society that should have been far more modern than her own, there was still fighting.  And, by the sound of it, quite a lot of fighting.   More fighting than the Gladiators did, she’d bet, even when the slaves were given the opportunity to be freed if they won.

“War?” she repeated quietly.

The idea scared her.

From nowhere, the loud, grating sound of metal on metal filled the room.  Pulchra’s hands twitched instinctively, ready to greet her ears, but when Pulchra turned to see who the sound was coming from, they fell slack.  She’d known that there were other… things in the room – in fact, she’d seen some of them.  It was just that she hadn’t focused on one of them, so the sight of one of them completely still surprised her – disoriented her, even.

The thing – which on closer inspection was frighteningly tall - introduced itself.  She certainly hadn’t heard of the planet ‘Sul’, nor of the ‘house Magrold’.  She worried her lip, just as she had been told not to do several times at home, and glanced around to see if anyone else was as bewildered as she.

James stands by as one of the non-humans introduce itself. A different planet. So there is other life out there. James thought.

I have no clue what is going on. I don't know where I am. I've likely been captured by the ene- James thinks back to the ray guns, the aliens, the spaceship. No. That can't be it. The Axis powers can't be this advanced. This must be "the future". It's all very strange. There's Aztecs, Romans, even aliens. I've hit my head on something. Yeah, that's it! This is all a crazy dream! I'll obey them, and maybe i'll wake up.

Leon looked at the alien in armor, following the gaze of Pulchra. Hm. Probably dealing with a little bit too much at once, I'll get back to it later... Leon thought, looking beyond the back of her head. The alien that spoke was armor-clad, and looked rather fierce. And was also very tall. However, as he spoke, Leon knew that he was from a friendly race. He let any sort of apprehension he may have been feeling fade away.

"Hey! You're no Vasu, but I'm still honored to be able to meet an alien, face-to-face!" Leon said, actually excited. The Vasu had contacted Earth just before he woke up here, and this was extremely enthralling for Leon. There was so much mystery around alien races, and he had to assume that Earth would continue to forge alliances like his. "What's your planet like? And, what do you think of America and the Earth and everything?" he asked, running his hand through his red locks, assuring his ruffled look. There had been plenty of hype about aliens just a few hours ago, from Leon's perspective. It didn't take much for him to fall back into it, and be excited to learn about an entire new planet.

Villiers didn't bother listening to the others introducing themselves, he simply listened to what Lucille was telling him about them and what they looked like. She was immersing herself in the environment as if she didn't want to go home like he did. But Lucille really didn't want to go home.

Lucille looked at the Duke. He was scanning the room for a way out, something he could do to escape, some way he could prove this was a dream. She hit his arm "Face it. There's no way home. Look at what you've got here, this is an opportunity, an open door." He stopped looking at the room and began looking at her. "But I was the most powerful man in Britain." Lucille sighed and decided to go and mingle with the others. Maybe sticking with the Duke was a bad idea. And she would have to stop calling him the Duke, he needed to get used to the fact that home was a long way away, somewhere he couldn't go.
Villiers simply stood, waiting for a miracle.

She turned away from Villiers and looked at the others. The man who said he'd been in a war didn't seem to be speaking to anyone. "Hey, soldier." she said as she drew up to his side.

((I assume the technology of this era will allow us to learn/speak some English? Though an RP where everyone speaks a different language would be pretty interesting.))

Eztli's mind was fuzzy. He had been beaten before, brutally too. He had endured great pain, but this was an entirely different sensation. It was as if the very floor was spinning rapidly. He saw a woman dressed in…well, something. She spoke of a ship that could sail the skies, and of "rooms" and something about new allies. Eztli's mind was still numb, until he heard the mention of "melee weapons". Though he wasn't familiar with the word, he somehow knew what it meant. Blades, clubs, tools he has used in battle many times. The excitement of weapons was enough to shake off the dizziness and rouse the Jaguar warrior from his rest.

One of his new allies had given him a look. Not a "who is this strange man" look, rather a "I hope this strange man doesn't tear my lungs out" look. He introduced himself as Leon Wayleon Infull: hailing from a something called "Newyork Inamerca" from…well a number. In turn the others, all in strange dress, gave their names and where they come from, which Eztli took as the tribe they were part of. This 'Leon Wayleon' character looked like a carving: features were almost too perfect and chiseled.

Two more introduced themselves: a loud complaintive man named George Villiers of the "Dukov Buckham" and a woman who looked to have seen better days by the name of Lucille from "Lundon Englan". They seemed to be dressed in cloth of some sort. The tribes they came from were unfamiliar, though that is expected. Everything here was unfamiliar: the sky shone bright with rectangular suns, but he didn't feel the warmth of the sun he was accustomed to.

Next came Pulchra, a short woman whose hair was the color of gold. She was from…well she didn't say. She was quiet: only spoke what may be her name. Next came James of 'Earftoo'. He looked to be dressed in clothing similar to Eztli's: animal hide. What animal it came from was a mystery though: the Aztec had never seen any hide of that sort. Garth, a loud shiny being, gave an introduction. This shiny creature came from "Magrod". Such strange names for tribes and peoples.

The room fell silent as introductions were fading and everyone spoke amongst themselves. When there was a lull, the Jaguar warrior saw his chance to demonstate himself to his new 'ah-lies'. These people were so calm in speaking of themselves: if they were warriors they would display strength and power!
Eztli pounded his chest, letting out a loud drum-like noise. He took a deep breath and in a strong, raspy voice gave his introduction (perhaps too loudly).

((What more fitting color than red?))
"Eztli Coyotl. BLOOD COYOTE!" he cried. "Aztec people!" He let out a jaguar-like growl after this, reaching for his knife only to find it not where he kept it. He dismissed this: the others didn't have weapons so he didn't need one should they decide to attack him.

((I'm not really sure if I'm in but I don't want to get left behind, so for now I'll assume I am. Sorry in advance if I'm not.))

Sidia wasn't sure what was going on, but she began to quickly process the situation. She looked at the weapons during the tour. She had familiarized herself with earth's weapons in the short time she was there before... whatever happened to bring her here had happened, and many of the weapons she saw looked too advanced compared to what she had already seen, she she had no reason to doubt she was in the future. If this really was the future, then she must have failed. If that were the case, she was pretty happy to not have to deal with her superiors, although not being able to see her family again upset her, though she made no sign of it.

When everyone was introducing themselves she noticed the humans were looking at the other aliens strangely, but gave her no such look. Then the cramps in her still hidden wings reminded her she was still disguised as a human. People introduced themselves from all sorts of different times and places, but no where she was really familiar with. When one of the other aliens introduced himself she decided she better as well. Though she decided it would be better to not give the name of her planet or even let them know she was an alien until she was sure they could be trusted. For now she would just give her name, which meant she would have to wait a while before she could stretch her aching wings.

She stepped forward and said, "My name is Sidia Kaarme." then gave a small bow and stepped back. It felt weird not to add anything on to that, but she wasn't sure what else she could say.

The next events went by very quickly in Pulchra’s eyes.  First, the Lion Man – Leon, Pulchra reminded herself – seemed to be bouncing with excitement at the sight of the thing which had introduced itself as being from ‘Sul’.  Pulchra still – in spite of a great deal of thought – did not know where Sul was, nor why this thing was so tall, and so tried to lose interest in the sight before her, averting her gaze from the alien and thus Leon’s little act.

She paid even less heed to ‘The Duke’ and his mumblings.  She simply couldn’t muster any sympathy for him in herself; everyone was in the same position – she didn’t see why he should be acting as though he was any more entitled to a trip home than the rest of them.  Her eyes lingered for a moment on the girl with him, who had introduced herself as ‘Lucille’.  She seemed decent, to some extent, especially as she sidled up to the man who’d been in the war.

Her attention was deftly drawn from the girl and the soldier as a loud thudding came from behind her.  She spun around.  One of the taller men was attacking his chest – beating against it with both fists.  A sick, scared feeling washed over Pulchra; this man was tall and violent and she had no doubt at all that he could hurt her.

A feeling which only intensified when his screamed words tore through the room.  She did not know what an Aztec was, but this time she showed little hesitation in covering her ears.  The Professor had told them to get along, and she doubted that anybody would go against that – he couldn’t hurt her for disrespecting him, she told herself as she allowed herself to relax, somewhat embarrassed by her own expression of discomfort.

Thus, she was rather relieved when another person stepped forwards, succinctly introducing herself with another name that Pulchra viewed as being quite strange.  Pulchra went through it in her head, trying to catch each syllable as it came, so that she might be able to pronounce it properly if needed, to very little avail.
At the very least, she knew that it began with an ‘S’.

Damien had a headache. He could feel his fingers dancing against his leather-clad thigh as he listened to some woman- a profess, he recalled - explaining their situation. And he was rather annoyed at what he had to hear.

41....what? She definitively said we're in a year that started with a 4. He thought, and was still mainly trying to wrap his head around that factoid. He had time traveled, that's what he was getting out of this. And apparently it was a lot less cool than it looked in the movies, no flying DeLoreans or anything like that. It had also happened at the worst possible time. He had been cgoing t oa show! A big one! He gritted her teeth a little, looking up and squinting at the others around him, the ones the professor said were his 'allies'.

And what a group they were. He could barely tell from where half these people (?) were even from (or where they were from, more likely). He saw a soldier, that was a good sign. And...some...were those aliens? And that was clearly a bird just standing there on the bird. Damien licking his lips, mentally reminding himself to put some more lipstick on later. This was...something completely different.

The Professor came to the conclusion of her exposition, explaining the need for the use of weapons and where everything was located. That got Damien's attention. He had gone to a shooting range out in LA once a few years (well...maybe more than a few by now) and had thought it was totally cool. Had been trying to get a permit to keep a gun with him too. All the great rockstars kept weapons on them, it added to their cool persona.

While caught up in his brief bubble of excitement he didn't even realize the Professor had left everyone to their own introductions and devices, and was only startled from it when a rather large, terrifying looking man in a jaguar skin yelled 'BLOOD COYOTE!'  Damien staggered forward, eyes wide. That dude definitely didn't look like someone he wanted to run into in an alleyway late at night. He huffed out, standing straight and brushing himself off. He hoped no one saw him nearly rip onto his face. That'd be a horrible first impressionThen he watched as a decidedly-nonhuman entity stepped up and introduced herself as Sidia. He almost gaped a little, trying to comprehend he was indeed looking at an alien. So space-travel's gotten a little advanced since '86, he'd have to give them that.

Regardless of when these people were from, though, he figured he still try and work his patented Damien Charm on them. Clearing his throat, he glanced around and stepped forward to introduce himself. "Uh, yeah. So...hey. I'm Damien. Damien Delacroix." He flashed what he thought was a perfect grin, "I'm a rrrrockstar. From L.A., you know? 1986, Sunset Strip, it's righteous. " He threw a thumb's up to the others, using his other hand to swoop some long, blond hair over his ear.

***

While Damien was busy making himself known, a small being was examining the room from his spot on the floor. Clipper tilted his head on way, then the other, taking it all in. While he was frustrated at the fact he had been removed from his training missions back in his own period he was still immensely curious. Time travel! How amazing! The genetically modified crow hopped forward a few paces, listening to the others, his 'allies' the important looking Professor had called them, as they explained they were from all walks of history. He puffed out his feathers at that. Humans sure were highly advanced; first animal soldiers like himself, now this.
He hoped the others would find him as interesting as he found them. Bouncing forward a bit more, he decided to get their attention was a rather piercing 'CAW!'.
"Hello new allies!" Clip spoke through his metal implant, the red light blinking in time, "My name is Subject #76, but you can call me Clipper! I am from the year 2209 which is probably very far away from where most of you are from!" He opened and flapped his wings a few times before tucking them back, "I hope we can grow to be strong compatriots, and maybe friends.."

James hears more names being called, including the Aztec warrior bellowing out his name while beating on his chest like an ape. Well then. Strong and bold. A bit too much for me. James tried not to hide his surprise, he was obviously a little intimidated by the aztec. Sidia seemed nice enough, but something seemed a bit off about her. Then came Damien. What is a rrrrockstar? Righteous? I have no clue what's happening. Last came this raspy, metallic voice from a.... crow? Animals can talk? What kind of place is this? James looked down, the bird was "talking" from this strange device with a red, blinking light. My head hurts.

One of the women spoke to him and drew a bit closer to him, to his side. James was used to being cramped. This women's name, a bit tougher. Name....name....name. Lucille? I pray to god this is the right one. I'll look strange. The woman was in a simple yellow dress, she looked like she's been through a war as well, and a bit shorter than him. Her companion, was expecting a miracle or something. James wasn't a big fan of him, but her..... Lucille he decided, was smart and sharp witted. James looked to his side "You're Lucille, right?"

"That's right, my friend." she smiled at him and held out a hand to shake, hoping that that was still a real greeting where he was from. She studied his uniform, it seemed secure and suitable, the craftsmanship was unlike anything she had seen before. While she was waiting for him to shake she reached up with her other hand and brushed some dust out of his hair. He seemed to make a fine gentleman. She looked back at Villiers, stood about struck dumb. No one was getting anywhere with him. James, his name as far as she could remember, seemed like a much better direction to travel in as far as allies were concerned. He also shared a name with her old companion, James St. John, maybe that was a sign.

Snap out of it, old boy. Villiers told himself this again and again. He was almost tempted to put a hand up and smack himself in the face but he knew that would just make others feel that he should be in asylum. He couldn't have that. He looked around to try and see someone who looked as lost as he felt but to no avail. He lent against a wall and resolved that no matter how bad he felt, he must stay in control. He was the Duke of Buckingham. Not was, is. He is the Duke of Buckingham, and he will not be made to look like a little lost sheep. In that sense, he would not follow Lucille around either, he was not her hand and foot servant. If anything, she should be his.
On that thought, he rose from his slumped position against the wall, and stood up straight. Inwardly, he was still wishing to be at home, but outwardly, he was the Duke of Buckingham, height of calm personality and sophistication. He waited for the others to come to him.

The flurry of questions from Leon made Garath feel at ease. He had expected humans to act defensively around him, however Leons curiosity made him want to open up and talk, because although Garath had been brought up to have a negative view of humans he did have a curiosity about human culture. Garath smiled at Leon. "My planet is full of extreme habitats" He began to explain, but he was then interrupted by a large man shouting "BLOOD COYOTE!" Garath decided that he should probably try to learn more about all of his supposed allies. "Can I answers your question later?" he asked Leon.

James sees Lucille extend her hand, obviously meaning for him to shake it in greeting. He takes her hand and shakes it. Lucille shook some of the dust from James' hair. He looks over to the Duke, completely dumbfounded. Villiers obviously thought royalty still applied and just waited for someone to come to him. "My honest opinion on him," James points to Villiers, "Is that he thinks that everyone will come to him, because of his royal status. Being stuck up like that will get him nowhere. Sometimes, you have to reach out to the ones below you." says James.

Lucille seems like a nice gal. She's scrappy and can fend for herself. She and I will fight well together. However, she could be a thief, i'll keep my guard up.

"To tell you the truth, he isn't even a royal, just a friend King Charles'. I suppose he just misses being treated like the world revolves around him, I bet he's never slept rough even once." Lucille wondered how long they would be spending in this room if they were to all get to know each other, she felt like getting to know her surroundings and exploring this building but she also wanted to know everything about the different worlds and times of her new allies. Villiers seemed to have collected himself though and was stood about waiting for attention. He looked like some pompous bird trying to show off its feathers.

"I'd bet money on it, and make the government go bankrupt. I don't think any of us will go to him, so he had better humble himself, and fast." James said. "Well, you seem like a capable person, both outside and in your mind, so not all here is lost. I also think getting on the good side of the aztec," the soldier points to the Blood Coyote, "might be wise. He looks like he could be a good ally, and a dangerous enemy."

Hm.... She seems to like me. The Villiers person looks like an arrogant person, i'm not going to like him that much.

"I had to sleep rough for a long time, being in Japan. My team was ambushed and I saw a blinding light, I woke up here in this future place. Do you have any idea about this place?" James asks Lucille.

Sidia had intended to try to get to know the others, but everyone aside from the "BLOOD COYOTE!" guy seemed busy talking to each other, and the coyote guy kind of made her nervous. She was missing her usual weapons and was sure she would not be able to take him in hand-to-hand combat, at least not without shedding her disguise and using her natural weapons, which she didn't want to do quite yet. Instead, she decided the next best idea would be to go back to the room with all the weapons and brush up on her skills. After all, being frozen for so long will take a tole on the body, and she wouldn't want to mess up on whatever mission they would be given tomorrow because she was "a little rusty".
She began to walk out and toward the room, but while walking down the hall she realized she couldn't remember where it was. The place was unfamiliar and her head was still a little foggy. She stopped for a little while and considered going back before she got lost, but then decided she would just look around for it. In a little while. For now, she'll just sit down and rest for a bit until her head clears.

Eztli looked at the man who stood up tall and…didn't seem to do anything. The one who complained about…something. He spoke of power and a place called in Britton. Power? That's what Eztli wanted to see. If these were warriors, strength and power were priorities and this strange man who smelled odd spoke of it. He certainly didn't look powerful though, perhaps he had great knowledge.

"You spoke of Power! Tell me your power." Eztli spoke to the man. His voice was slightly louder than it needed to be for speaking to one person.

"BLOOD COYOTE!"

Leon nearly jumped out of his skin. His head snapped to the attention of the over sized speaker. "Aztec People!" the man yelled again, in a slightly less booming town. Leon let out a deep breath, knowing that this was just some sort of strange introduction.

"Uh, hello, Blood Coyote," Wayleon said to him nervously, cracking a small smile. He definitely wanted to get on a man of that size's good side. He looked down the hallway, and saw one of the other aliens pacing the halls, not quite sure where she was going. There had been so many names, Leon couldn't quite remember hers. He decided to wing it before he lost the chance to talk to her.

"Hey! You down there!" he yelled down the hallway toward Sidia. "Sylvia! Or Sidia!" he guessed, raising his hand to the side of his head, as a signal for her to approach.

"You spoke of Power!" he heard the Blood Coyote guy boom. Leon couldn't resist rolling his eyes. Hadn't Aztecs ever heard of inside voices?

She heard someone calling her name, or something close, at least, then her actual name. She turned her attention toward the caller, one of the human boys, oh what was his name? Most of the group was human and male, and compared to most of the others he didn't stand out too much. Umm, was it Leon? or something like that? Oh well, they had all just met each other, he probably wouldn't take too much offence if she asked, right? Well, might as well go talk to him. She really had no idea where she was going anyway. She walked back down the hallway to greet him.

"Hello, you're Leon, right?"

Pulchra blinked at the next person to introduce himself.  Damien.  Da-mi-en.  Damien.  He seemed flashy, but Pulchra didn’t know what a rrrrockstar was.  Also, he smelled like post-execution body burning – a practise which Pulchra had never actually seen, though it had been described to her by her sister’s husband many times.  Besides, there wasn’t anybody she knew who hadn’t walked through the centre of the city and caught the whiff of smoke and flesh and smoking flesh.  She was unsure of whether to edge towards him or away from him, so she settled for standing in the same spot and staring at him rather indiscreetly.

Her gaze was averted, though, when a rather invasive ‘caw’ ripped through the room.  She really did wish that the people she was with would exercise a little more sensitivity when… cawing.  She turned to the source of the noise.  A crow.

A crow, she thought, couldn’t be criticised for cawing.  At least, she thought that for a split second.  Then the crow started speaking.  If a crow could talk, and use big words like compatriot, then it could think for itself.  If it could think for itself, then it would know not to make noises that loudly.  Pulchra glowered at it for a second, sure that it didn’t even have to make such a noise – as if anybody wouldn’t notice a talking crow!

The surprise of the crow's speaking quickly died down, and Pulchra watched as everybody fell into casual conversation with everybody else – the soldier and ‘Lucille’, and the Aztec and the Duke, and Leon and the girl with the ‘S’ at the start of her name.

And of course, the Aztec had to shout again. If he wanted power, he would love her pater.  He was one of the most powerful men in Tuscany.   She’d have walked over and told him so, if not for the fact that she both didn’t know how to say it, and because he was so loud she was sure he’d draw attention to her, and attention was the last thing she wanted.  And so, she settled again for alternating her glare between ‘rrrrockstar’ and the crow.

If not quieter, the group was certainly more interesting than her damn betrothed.

Garath turned towards the "Blood Coyote" man and the person with hair growing out of his face, the duke, the large man was demanding to know about power. Garath thought that if this so called duke had any real power then Garath had better get on his good side and if he didn't have any power than Garath would decide what to do later.

Garath approached the two mismatched humans with confidence, hoping that the Eztli fellow didn't mind. "Hello" he started out "I would also like to hear about your power if you don't mind." Garath then smiled, trying to look friendly.

When no one so much as addressed Damien after his introduction, he frowned a bit. He was practically (almost, a little, on the way to being) famous, and no one so much as cared! He sighed, making a mental forgiveness. Everyone was just meeting now, give it a little time. Right now he had more pressing matters. Reaching in his pocket he gave a small sigh of relief upon finding the battered pack of cigarettes he was sure to keep with him always. Opening it, though ,he was frustrated to only find about four left.

If this is the future, they better have, like, super advanced cigs for me to try out, he thought, bitterly taking one of the white sticks and groping around his lighter. As he did, though, he happened to glance up and caught the sight of one of the girls in their group eyeing him for a moment. The one in what looked like  some kind of toga. A Roman? He smirked a little. She was pretty cute, abet pretty short too. He really dug what looked like the ancient eyeliner she was wearing, too. Damn, slap her in a miniskirt and some legwarmers and she'd be right at home on the Strip.

Taking a break in his quest for his lighter, Damien walked towards the Roman girl until he was close enough to address her directly. "Hey," he said with a another flash of a grin and a wink, "You see something you like over here?"

Clipper meanwhile, continued to blink and examine the larger beings around him. If any of them heard him, and he was certain they'd have had to, they didn't say anything. So, he decided perhaps individual introductions were in order.

Peering around, Clip's small black eyes fell on the young man in what looked like a uniform. A very old fashioned one, in his eyes, but nevertheless, he recognized the style and remembered when the young man had introduced himself. Another soldier, what luck! The crow clicked his beak before taking off suddenly and flapping his black wings until he could perch on Jame's shoulder.
"Hello, I hope I did not startle you!" Clip said as he landed, trying careful not to dig his talons into the WWII soldier's shoulder, "I just could not help but notice you are in uniform, and also a man of the military." He shifted and bobbed his head, "I am also a solider! Isn't that neat?"

The soldier feels something land on his shoulder, followed by an odd metallic voice. Hm... Name...name. Wait, easy one. Subject.... what's the number? 72? No... 79? Closer... 76! That's it! Then there was the other name. Clipper, pretty sure. James considers the crow's words for a moment, then replies, "Clipper, is it? Anyway, it's good to know that someone besides me has a military background. Then again, everything where you are from must a lot more.....what's the word? Right, advanced than what I had to work with. So, what you know, I likely don't."

James scopes the hallway out to find Blood Coyote and a...actually, he wasn't sure what was in the suit of armor, a whatever that was demanding to know what power the Duke claimed he had. The human soldier said to Lucille, "Looks like someone decided to talk to him after all. I do, however,  wonder what sort of power he has, if he does have some kind of power here. You never know what will happen, I mean, we were abducted into this future place, so anything is possible."

"Yes, yes, that's me!" Leon said, glad that he had made enough of an impression for someone to remember his name. He smiled a wide grin, revealing all of his perfectly sculpted, white teeth. "And I got your name right the second time, correct? Sidia?" he asked, moving a few stray pieces of hair back into his messy bedhead. Wayleon crossed his arms cooly, and let the smile fade from his face. He glanced over to the side, hearing some commotion from the other guy.

He had a pretty good first impression of Damien. Being preoccupied with Garath, however, he didn't have time for an introduction. Leon immediately though of him as a brother of sorts: They were only about two centuries away, and in the scheme of things, Leon came to realize that was fairly close. He put a cigarette in his mouth. That's so cool. He really is just like a stereotypical band from the late 20th century. Leon's grandfather was a fan of bands like Nirvana and Pink Floyd. I wonder if he's heard of them? Wayleon thought, watching him put the lighter in his pocket.

And then Damien was macking on the cute Pulchra girl. His open, friendly mood took a complete one-eighty, as his face became marked with a scowl. Boy, there's just aren't enough girls to go around in this room... He better back off, because goddamn, I'm much better looking, and don't reek of over a hundred year old cheap cigarettes... Leon's glare in his general direction had only lasted a moment, but Leon realized it was probably enough time to make the conversation with Sidia begin to get awkward.  "Oh, sorry, I got a little distracted over there. So, what's your planet like?"

"His power? Ha, that's a joke." Villiers, from what Lucille had been told had been the King's closest friend before he died, apparently he had forced himself into many varying jobs in the King's court so that no one else would be more favourable than him. He had, however, a terrible mess with all he jobs and for all that he was powerful, he was equally hated. No one had really spoken about Villiers much since she was around fifteen, only five years after his death.

Villiers was visibly intimidated by the expectant glares of the Blood Coyote man and the alien. They stared at him, waiting for an explanation of his power. He considered the wording of his speech very carefully and replied slowly "My power  is not the same as your power... My strength lies more in my prey than in myself as, you see, I have the power to change what you think with my words and actions, depending on how willing your mind is to be changed." Vague, he had the others where he wanted them, doubting his credibility (or so he hoped). This was part of the inkling of a plan he had been formulating. He waited to see what the others would make of this.

((Yeah, sorry I didn't post all day and that not much really happens in this post, I've been out but we drove home in the dark so its given me a headache/made me feel sick so I wasn't really up to a decent post))

"Yes, that's right," she answered when he asked if he had gotten her name right. Then she noticed he was looking elsewhere. She looked over to see what he was- oh. Though she hadn't spent much time on earth, one thing she noticed was that humans and her planets other species had very similar relationship customs. Though she couldn't relate, she still had a basic understanding of what was going on. Though it didn't look like the girl was interested in either of them, but then again, who was she to say? Still, if the girl- what was her name again? Pulchra, right? Ugh, too many names to remember at once. Anyway, if Pulchra really wasn't interested... poor girl.

Ahh, enough thinking about human relationships, they are too confusing and drama filled for her taste anyway. Besides, Leon was still trying to have a conversation with her, right? Ah, nope, he's still looking at the scene developing over there. Wait, never mind, he's back.

Sidia replied to his apology with a simple, "It's fine," especially since she had gotten a little distracted as well. Then came his question. What was her planet like? Better keep it simple or she might bore him to death. "Well, I guess the major difference is that my planet had two major species, whereas Earth only has one. One of the species was large in numbers, smaller in stature, war-hungry but not very strong without weapons, and pretty much controlled most of the planet. The other was pretty much the opposite, small in number, larger in stature, peaceful but a force to be reckoned with when threatened, and didn't have as much land, but were content with it. Other then that, they're pretty similar, from what I can tell."

That was too long. What happened to keep it simple? Maybe keeping it short would have been better.

((It's cool Chloe. Get well soon.))

"I thought that may be the case." James says, he overhears Villiers "power" explanation. "The power to change people's mind through his words and actions? If that's an actual power, we'd all be powerful." James says to Lucille. The soldier is still trying to take everything in and digest everything. So far, everything was nice. There seemed to be people he could trust, he just needed to get to know them more.

James considers what to say next and out of the blue just asks this question, "What was your time like, Lucille?"

Pulchra stared at Damien’s strange, papery cylinder for a moment.  He was fumbling around for something, and she supposed he needed it to use the thing.  Even so, it was strange.  Stranger still was when he sauntered up to her, the cylinder still unused.  She stared him over, trying to make a judgement on him.  He was wearing strange clothes, though she supposed they were just modern – he wouldn’t be the only one, after all.  Even so, she had never seen a man in such obvious make-up when he wasn’t exaggerating, or else making his best efforts to be improper.  She restrained herself – just – from wrinkling her nose, though she was sure that her lips had tightened slightly.

“Hey, you see something you like over here?”

He was - she decided - almost as bad as Clemens back in Sicily, though she would allow for the fact that even if he was wearing make-up, he seemed to be far better kept.  She did like that much about him, though given the somewhat goading tone of his voice – and the wink! – She thought that he was very much not looking for that sort of an answer.  She muttered slightly, trying to find something to say to be polite but diversionary at the same time whilst still maintaining a level of English that was at her speaking level.

It was harder than she’d expected it to be, and took a panicked moment to stand and stare up at him without saying anything before finally coming to something that she could say:

“What is a rrrrockstar?” she asked,  drawing out the ‘r’ in the same way that he had.

"Change what I think? You sound like the diplomats that used to visit." Garath said. The answers that this Villiers man was giving were a bit to Vague for his liking. "Whose mind were you changing with your words. And what about your position as the Duke of Buc ... Buki ... wherever you were Duke of, what did that gain you?" Garath asked the questions, wanting to know if this human was of more use than a diplomat. Garath remembered that Villiers seemed to have been looking for attention before, so to try and make him give an answer quicker Garath looked around pretending not to be interested in whatever Villiers said.

While looking around Garath noticed James, the earth soldier and Lucille were standing together, he decided that he would try and talk to the soldier next, after he had finished getting answers from Villiers.

"What was your time like, Lucille?" There came a question she had been expecting, she tried to word her answer in a way that was truthful but also slightly dramatised. "Hmmm... well London was, very crowded and there seemed to be people everywhere. The only people who had any sort of power were the rich and educated - not me - and power was mainly kept in family lines. I slept rough every night, on piles of straw or just on the ground. It was very smelly, and very dangerous. You know, you had to keep your wits about you."  She noted one of the others eyeing the pair of them up, one of the non-humans as she had gathered. He looked like a good ally, and imagined that getting to know him would be a fresh challenge, possibly one she'd enjoy.

The others suitably bewildered, Villiers tried to 'redeem' himself as they were showing signs that they had no interest in what he had to say, that wouldn't do. Bigging up his position he began loudly "What did being the Duke of Buckingham gain me? Why, that title was the making of me, you see, Dukes are usually related to the King, not I. And being his closest friend, he listened to everything I said, as such, the Kingdom of Great Britain was almost entirely in my hands. I could do with it whatever I pleased." He, obviously, left out the part about all of Parliament hating him and receiving death threats. Then, as none of the others had really made themselves clear to him, he asked:"What sort of power did you have?" And folded his arms, almost triumphantly.

Villiers looked proud about his little speech so Garath thought it was time to show of a bit "So you could get whatever you wanted from a king?" he began "Well there was someone who tried to manipulate my father into giving him whatever he wanted, his execution was lovely." Garath paused for effect and then went "My father? Oh he is the king where I come from which I guess would make me the prince wouldn't it?" he asked, feeling a little bit smug at that. Of course Garath had left out the detail that he had seven elder brothers and he had no real power in his fathers kingdom, Villiers didn't need to know that.

Villiers had resolved that the best way to get home would be to make them all hate him. It ought to work, if he didn't get along with the others surely they, the people who had brought him here, would send him home where he could stay in his little lap of luxury and resolve to never bother the world again. At Garath's mention of himself as a Prince, Villiers made a small, arrogant grunt and stalked off. His eyes flitted about the room, resting on all the others, smiling and meeting other people... even Lucille, he wished he could have found some way that this was enjoyable for him. It wasn't.

Damien grinned again. That didn't really answer the question he'd posed to the young Roman lady, but he was just happy to be talking to someone who had some vague interest in him.
"Oh, yeah, a rockstar." He clicked his tongue, realizing that those didn't really exist in Ancient Roman times. He thought of another wording, "I'm...a musician, basically. Me and some friends back in my own time all played music together. I sang. It was pretty awesome."

Chuckling a little, he also realized he'd left his smoke unlit, just dangling from his mouth. Reaching back in his pocket he withdrew his light, raising it to his lips and igniting the end of the cigarette. He took a deep inhale of the tobacco and almost groaned at finally getting his fix. Plucking the paper stick from his mouth, he turned his head to exhale the stream of smoke, careful not to blow any in Pulchra's face. Even back home he was well aware girls were not a big fan of getting smoke slammed into their faces.

"So. Aahhh...you're from, Rome, right?" He asked, as he put the smoke back in his mouth, "That must've been...really different than here. Hell, it's pretty damn different for me, so with you it's probably, like, a whole other world."

Clipper, meanwhile, found that his perch on Jame's shoulder was quite comfy, and, ruffling his feathers a little, settled down a bit on it.
"Oh, yes, times have certainly changed since your time in the service, but trust me, we still use many tactics perfected back in...mm...the Second World War, yes?" He said to James, turning his small head and making a soft gurgling sound. He then turned his head, finally regarding the lady James was with, "Oh, and hello Miss Lucille!" Being a crow, Clip was very good at remembering names and faces, even after hearing a name only in passing. He blinked his beady black eyes at her, "I hope you aren't too disrupted in being taken so far from your time. I know this whole thing certain ruffled my feathers!" He made a quiet series of caws, an-almost laugh at his own joke.

"He wants to know of my power? I'll show him my power!!" Eztli thought. He took a deep breath, but paused. The others spoke softly not in shame of a warrior's spirit, but because shouting wasn't necessary. At any rate, the Jaguar warrior was tall and imposing; he didn't need to speak loudly to show his might. It would reveal itself in battle.

"I am warrior. Slain many. Captured more." Eztli spoke. His volume was lower, but he still spoke with a strong presence. "We Jaguars hunt prey. Capture, not kill. Satisfy need of our Gods. Defend our people. My power is fighting: I protect." He drew attention to the many scars adorning his body. "You use words to sway man. I don't speak well. I use weapons. Tecpatl, a knife. Maquahuitl, sharp club. No life outside of battle. No meaning outside of protect my people."

Eztli thought for a moment. Everyone here was away from their tribes. They were all warriors and fighters taken from homes and told to fight with each other. A band of people formed from other peoples. None of them were enemies: most were completely bizzare to the Aztec. If they were to fight together, then Eztli would protect them as his own. They were his people now, even if they smelled odd or had sickly pale skin and gold hair and wore armor that didn't look like it could stop anything. "If we are allies, I protect all." he concluded, standing up straight with a sense of duty.

Garath stared at the warrior man Eztil with a new sense of respect, not just of his obvious strength, but for his willingness to protect a group he just met, however Garath didn't want this man to rush in and injure himself protecting some one. "Hey we're all allies here, so don't be afraid to step back and let someone else do the protecting. Ok?" he said in a friendly voice. Then noticing that Villiers had walked away Garath started to walk away, but not before saying "I was a warrior to for a while, I might want to talk to you later."

Garath walked, slowly to avoid any unnecessary clinking from his armor, towards James, Lucille and the talking bird, Garath couldn't remember what the bird had called itself so he hoped the bird wouldn't be offended if Garath asked about it. When he got to the group he nodded politely and said "I hope I won't be interrupting anything by joining you."

"Smelly, keeping your wits about you and dangerous. Sounds like the war, alright. Only differences there are that it was a jungle I was in, everyone had a gun and bullets were flying in all directions." James thinks of a moment, then adds "Also, there was the fact that you weren't likely to come back from it, either side. Chilling thought, but when you were called to battle, you have to serve the country your hardest. I would've made my parents proud had it not have been for...." James trails off, as if that was a painful subject.

"Oh, yes, times have certainly changed since your time in the service, but trust me, we still use many tactics perfected back in...mm...the Second World War, yes?" Clipper finally says, obviously talking to James. He was about to answer when the walking suit of armor came over and said, "I hope I won't be interrupting anything by joining you." James nodded then said, "No not really, we're just getting know know each other.". The soldier thinks for a moment on Clipper's remark about the tactics they use, then says, "Well, from the sounds of it, we're going to need every little trick we have. I just have to remember all that I know after about..... I think 2000 years of being frozen in that weird capsule."

It was not until Damien said musician that Pulchra’s mouth morphed into a small ‘o’ in the middle of her face, and she nodded.  Her father had brought in many musicians for many different occasions when she was still in Rome, and each one had been exactly the same, really, as the next.  Damien seemed rather different to them, though she supposed that he was probably at least a little bit similar to all the other musicians of his time.  She wondered what sort of music he played.

She was drawn from the thought as she finally found out – in a particularly unpleasant way – what the roll of paper was for.  And also why the man smelled like burning grounds.

The answer – she supposed – was really quite simple.  He was burning something.  She was grateful for his efforts to not blow smoke in her face, but even so, she bent her head towards the ground and pressed her lips tightly together, determined not to inhale any of the stuff.

He spoke again, from around the stick.  "So. Aahhh...you're from, Rome, right? That must've been...really different than here. Hell, it's pretty damn different for me, so with you it's probably, like, a whole other world."

Pulchra nodded. Roman empire.  Not Rome. Tuscany. It is North.” Though her English was broken, Pulchra was pleased with her efforts – she was sure that she had communicated what she thought rather well. As an afterthought, she pointed at the white stick.  “Did not have those.”

The merest bit of contempt for the object worked its way into her voice, and she hoped that it was imperceptible. She chanced a brief look up at him – doing her best to try and make sure that he hadn’t offended him, though she kept her breath firmly held.

Clipper shifted and made an almost purr-like noise in response to James, "It will very interesting indeed to see all of our varied skilled working together!" he replied, clicking his beak. With so many representatives from varying time periods present, he knew once they learned how to work together for battle things would be a sight to behold.

Suddenly, Clip watched as one of the various extraterrestrials in the room approached. Garath, he recalled. He was already fond of the being as he looked at him. That armor look so shiny and nice; he desperately wanted to peck at it. "You aren't interrupting at all!" he chirped as the alien approached, "It is nice to meet another nonhuman. Where did you ay you were from again?" He tilted his small head, eyeing Garath with as much interest as a crow's face could show.

"Oh, right, right. Tuscany, sorry," Damien nodded as Pulchra corrected him on where she was from, "All in the big 'ol Italy area, gets a little mixed up for me sometimes." He breathed a laugh, before hearing the second part of the girl's statement.

"Did not have those.”

He glanced up. she was pointing at his cigarette, and from the way she'd said it, he could clearly tell she wasn't exactly enamored with the thing. Carefully, he plucked it from his lips and turned his head to exhale another stream of smoke away from her. Looking back at her, he shrugged a little, almost sheepishly.

"Yeeahhh....give it a couple of hundred years, sweetheart. It's probably not a bad thing you don't got these, though," He put the paper tube back in his mouth and smirked a little, "Once you start doing 'em, you can't really stop, you know?"

"That's really neat! Yeah, no other especially intelligent beings here. I mean, some animals could be considered pretty smart. But, we kind of took supremacy of the planet before they were properly developed, I suppose," Leon said, honestly not knowing too much about the fauna on Earrth. "You guys ever fight? Throughout our history we have tons of people killing each other just from how they look. I can't imagine having an entire other species. We'd probably just get scared and kill 'em all, to be honest," Leon sighed, not exactly feeling up to par with the foreign alien. Knowing them, they had probably discovered universal peace while humans bombed cities.

"I take it you're from the larger and smarter ones? I'd imagine you'd have an introduction like Blood Coyote, if you were of the other alien race..." he said, making a sly thumb point at the Aztec man.

"I'm from Sul." Garath said in reply to the crow's question "It's not a very pretty planet and most of the inhabitants are quite violent, and a lot of my own people try war before they try peace." Garath then turned to look at James "I would love to learn about human battle tactics, even old ones." he told him. The reason for Garath's interest in tactics was that although a lone human was normally no match for a lone Sullen, the human race still saw victory after victory during the Earth-Sul war. Garath had decided not to mention the war, trying to seem as friendly as possible. Garath looked at the crow, trying to remember its name without having to ask.

Lucille listened intently to the conversation, Garath's planet sounded intriguing and even more dangerous than her London. She realised that she seemed to have unintentionally joined a small militia in this conversation but she didn't really mind, if it was all Latin to her, it was certainly pretty decent Latin. Maybe she would even pick up some fighting skills or possibly shoot a gun... no... she thought, women aren't allowed weapons or even to fight wars and yet there were a few women here. Lucille counted them as she looked around the room and recalled the women here, there were at least three of them. As her eyes fell on the other human girl, Pulchra, the man she had been talking to, the one who had called himself a "rrrrrrrrockstar" turned and blew a large amount of smoke in their direction behind his back. It came billowing towards Lucille and made her turn her nose up a little, it definitely wasn't the sort of smell you got in London. It smelt like burning. He must be smoking tobacco. She was revolted and interested in equal amounts, his cigar didn't look the same as the ones others she knew smoked.
Lucille turned her head back to Clipper, the concept of a talking military bird was still intriguing.

Villiers had been in the corner of the room observing the others since the talk with the 'alien' man. He watched Lucille again as she mingled with the others. She was a fool. Then, another of the modern humans took out a small white piece of paper and began to puff smoke, he recognised the scent well. Tobacco. How welcome that was. Trying to look casual he strolled up to the tobacco boy and and regarded him and his cigar. Maybe he would allow himself to befriend one person here. "George Villiers," he addressed him and then looked at the small girl he was talking to, dipping his head slightly and shooting her a small grin. If there was plenty of cigars, maybe he could be persuaded to stay. "You don't happen to have any more of those cigars do you, my friend?" He continued, eyeing the cigar, although it didn't look much like the cigars of his day.

James listened to Garath "I'm from Sul." the alien said, "It's not a very pretty planet and most of the inhabitants are quite violent, and a lot of my own people try war before they try peace."

"Sorry to cut in, but war before peace? Well, sounds like the Earth from my time. A lot of the world's superpowers like the United States, Russia, France and Germany are involved. It's sheer chaos. The US got bombed by Japan, James cut in to explain, his expression fluttered to grim, then sad, then back to the neutral mask is usually was. "That's how I got into the war, every man from ages 18 to 41 were called to arms." James finished explaining. He purposefully left Britten off his list of countries, because Lucille may be worried for that. James couldn't do that to her right when they met.

"I would love to learn about human battle tactics, even old ones." Garath said. James nodded, then said, "Well, we can do that later. I'm kind of interested of this "Sul" planet you come from."

Pulchra stared at the man’s stick as he spoke about it.  Pulchra couldn’t understand why anybody would have trouble stopping with it – anybody near the burning grounds back in the Empire would give them a wide berth, and that smell was exactly the same as this one.  She narrowed her eyes at the thing, searching for some sort of reason why it would keep a person from stopping with it.  Finding nothing, she glanced up at him with a searching look on her face.

“Why?” she said, an inquisitive lilt working its way into her voice and a flush of worry fluttering down into her chest – Damien hadn’t only mentioned that they were hard to stop – perhaps he’d answer the wrong thing, or else not understand.

Her eyes flicked down in thought for a moment before she began to give the stick another once over, but was interrupted by a rather familiar voice.

George Villiers,” it said.  The Duke.  Pulchra sighed inwardly, but brought herself around to face the man, nonetheless.  He shot a brief grin in hers and Damien’s direction, and she chewed her lip, more keen to observe the strange man than to offer a response to him.

“You wouldn’t happen to have any more of those cigars, do you, my friend?”  Pulchra stared at him in confusion, completely lost as to what a cigar was.  Moments later, The Duke’s eyes were fixed on Damien’s stick.  An idea dawned on her that would, perhaps, make her earlier question a bit clearer.

“Why,” she asked again, “can you not stop using the cigar?”

"“Why, can you not stop using the cigar?” asked the Roman girl, she seemed very confused about the matter. To have never smoked a cigar! it was madness! "Can't seem to kick the habit, sweetheart." Villiers replied. He almost licked his lips at the possibility of having another cigar. They weren't rare to come by if you were very rich and very powerful but Villiers had never expected to be away from home long enough to need to bring them with him, he didn't carry them about. He mainly smoked after meals so that his breath didn't smell like whatever delicacy he'd had to eat.

James spoke of something called a bomb, he'd said "The USA bombed Japan," and Lucille had to say, she'd never heard of either of those countries but she got the impression that the USA was America. She asked simply: "What's a bomb?" Whatever it was, it was another advance in technology that she had to catch up on.

"The three major Sullen factions have outlawed the use of bombings on Sul, they consider it a weak way to fight." Garath said as James talked about his war, but knowing wars might be a delicate topic with soldiers he moved on to the inquiry about his planet "I really don't know much about Sul, I was barely allowed outside the castle , but since I'm the only Sullen here I'll try to give my honest opinion." he began "Technology on Sul has developed strangely, we have advanced travel and construction techniques and we also have a few pieces of highly advanced weaponry, however on Sul we have a lot more melee weaponry and prefer to fight that way, which is not to say our weapons are old, we do use modern tech to make melee weapons, we just prefer to fight close up, also despite are capacity for advanced buildings we still tend to make anything important in the shape of a castle or some old palace. Anyway my house, the house Magrold is built in the far north of the region known as Dul, it was founded there because of the nearby deposits of black steel, sadly the region now known as Magrold is also close to a deep scar in the earth from witch molten lava continuously flows, which goes with out saying that it makes living in Magrold very hot and very dangerous, the house of my father, I mean my fathers palace is built mostly out of black steel to make a statement, and living in that palace was pretty much all I ever knew until I joined the army in war against our neighbors." Garath was about to continue, but then realized that they might not want to know that much. "Sorry if I gave too much information, I got carried away" he said "But please tell me about earth, I have always been fascinated by your planet."

Well, at least he seemed interested at least. It couldn't hurt to answer his questions, could it? Nah, besides, as far as the world was concerned, she was dead, right? She had no reason to be worried about the intentions of her new allies, right? She felt like she already may be saying too much, but was that really the case? Well, might as well continue, since she'd already started.

"You guys ever fight? Throughout our history we have tons of people killing each other just from how they look. I can't imagine having an entire other species. We'd probably just get scared and kill 'em all, to be honest."

She considered the question for a moment. "Do you mean between species? Not really, our species never fight with each other. They may have when they first met, but nothing I've heard of. The other species however, the more populace one, they fight a lot among themselves. They are frequently at war, but they generally leave my species alone. Sometimes, though, they'll hire members of my species to use as trump cards in their battles. My species usually lives off the land, but if you live in an area where that isn't always possible, sometimes you have to get yourself involved in their conflicts." Well, that information should be harmless to share anyway.

"I take it you're from the larger and smarter ones? I'd imagine you'd have an introduction like Blood Coyote, if you were of the other alien race..."
She laughed a quick, quiet laugh at the comment. "Well, yes, but the other species isn't that... crude."

She looked around the room a little and noticed the group forming with the soldier and the other alien. She looked at Leon and gestured with her head, "Want to see what's going on over there?"

The man in the different animal hide was speaking to several others. Perhaps tellings tales of his prowess as a warrior? Maybe sharing story of how he captured enemy soldiers? He might even talk about the weapons he used! The strange shiny man was also speaking. He heard familiar words: "black", "father", and "weapons", though he didn't quite understand other things the man said.

Blood Coyote made his way over to the crowd and listened. Most of the others had gathered around and were lending their ears to those speaking. It reminded him of home in a way: one warrior would stand and boast of the captures and kills he made, another would boast of his own skill, and so on. These people spoke quietly. Maybe this was the "intro-duck-tons" the woman from earlier mentioned? You say your name, tell a story, and the other person does the same.

Damien raised an eyebrow and blinked at Pulchra's query. He exhale a little more smoke and shrugged again. "Well, they're just kind o-!" He cut off mid sentence, turning as a new fellow approached, a rather dapper looking gentleman if he'd ever seen one.

The other man introduced himself as George Villers, and Damien tried to recall who among their time-scattered allies he was. He vaguely recalled him being some kind of royalty? He wasn't sure; his brain was still a little scattered during that introduction. Either way, Damien was more interested in the new question this man posed, asking if had another...cigar?

"Oh...Ohh, okay, yeah, you guys don't have these do you?" Damien spoke up. This royal looking dude had to be from some Victorian era, and though his history wasn't the best, cigarettes felt like a much more modern invention, "These aren't really, like, cigars. They're cigarettes. Like hell if I could afford cigars. Maybe one day." he chuckle, before recognizing the actual question. He knew giving the guy a smoke would probably be a good way to make friends, but he remembered he...honestly didn't have that many left. And God knows if there was any weird space-age cigarettes packs lying around this place. So, with a click of his tongue and a huff of smoke, he frowned a little, "But, like, sorry dude, but I don't have many left to share. See?" He reached in his pocket to show the Duke a pack of smokes with only about 3 left in it, "And I need 'em, or I start getting weird and jittery and it sucks."

He also heard the other man tell Pulchra about how hard it was to kick the tobacco habit. He nodded earnestly and turned to the girl, "Yeah, there's your answer. Once you start smoking you get super attached to them 'cuz they're full of drugs and stuff. So when you try to stop you get all weird and need more." He shrugged, "A burden ya gotta live with, I guess."

Clipper, meanwhile, flapped his weeks a bit in curious excitement as Garath explained his planet's culture, "Oh, how fascinating!" he said, "To thing aliens were doing such neat things while humans were only creating things like me. So intriguing." He clicked his beak and shifted a bit on James's shoulder.

"Yeah, sure. I already tried talking to him, and then Blood Coyote happened. I'd like to finish our conversation," Leon said, beginning to walk over to Garath and James. The entire group was all together, and as he walked into the circle, he could hear them talking about cigarettes.

Well, it was a basic conversation. "You like those things?" Wayleon said to Damien, seeing him smoking on the cigarette. "I'm shocked you're allowed to smoke those in here. With the environment and all. You gotta come to my time, though. We have a lot of cool smoking stuff available for people like you," he said, thinking of all of weird methods people had in his time. "If you ever want to stop, we got these stickers, and you can stick 'em anywhere. They get rid of any kind of addiction... the future is wonderful, my friend," Wayleon said, cracking a smile. He couldn't imagine feeling a need that powerful for the rest of his life. Hell, he couldn't even imagine anything close to addiction for more than a few hours.

"Technological advances to close ranged weapons? Seems to contradictory to me. Then again, our technological advances have led to long ranged weapons on Earth, so that must be strange to you. So... um... Earth. I can't piece together much from it, but where I'm from, there's a huge war that I was talking about and where I was fighting was in a jungle in this country called Japan. From what i've heard, it's an island, but I arrived here in the middle of a conflict there. Wars on Earth are fought with mostly long range weapons like guns and explosives. However, we still use some close range weapons." James said.

"Before the conflict, I lived on another island that the United States owned. The population was climbing, then the Japanese came and..... well you get the gist. I was finishing up my education and I planned on exploring the world, but then I got into the military. Ok, about Earth's geography...." James said, " There's many regions, polar, plains, middle east, a lot of landforms. I'd grow old talking about it all. So, I'll just tell you what you want to know, so.... what would you like to hear about?"

((No one posted for two days, get it together guys - haha jk))

Lucille had been actively listening to the conversation, as seemed to be the norm for her here, she found herself learning about different time periods and different planets, she wanted to know every intricate detail and she had a lot of natural questions but she resolved that if she opened her mouth then so many questions would spill out that it would leave everyone confused. She tried to pick just one. She turned to Garath, whom she assumed would know the most about this subject in particular but she addressed the group in general as Clipper may have had some idea too. "Tell me, guys, how do you travel between planets? I've always been fascinated by the sky and the planets. In my day we didn't even know much about Earth, never mind the world beyond, she leaned forwards into the conversation that more people were beginning to join.

The strangely dressed boy showed Villiers that he had only three 'cigarettes' left, and informed him that he wouldn't share. Just as well, he thought, it was often said that cigars brought the plague and other such ailments to a person. "Never mind then, lad, I can manage without for so long." his addiction, he guessed, was not nearly to the same scale as Damien's. He felt that now may be the time to retreat to his space along the wall. He nodded his head and Damien and tipped his hat, once more, at the girl and stalked of to position himself against the wall, finding himself once again, wanting to leave.

Sidia nodded and started toward the group. She listened in to what they were talking about, which seemed to be more or less the same thing she and Leon were talking about. Well, naturally, since everyone probably wants to learn about the other times and places the others are from. Including her. She walked to just outside the group then asked, "Mind if I join you?"

"I would like to hear everything, however as you said there might be to much for you to tell." Garath said "And not to mention all you humans are from different times so you might all give me different accounts of your planet." Garath made a humming noise as he thought about what he most wanted to know about earth.

"Hmm interplanetary travel." Garath began in response to Lucille "Its ... I ... I mean ... Well ..." Garath suddenly realized that he knew very little of how Sullens traveled in space, however he would still try to give his best answer. "Well I know that we Sullens use ... Something to power these ships, kinda like what the professor was talking about, except ours don't time travel and ... Oh yeah most Sullen ships are designed for battle so they fly effortlessly through sky and space to give them an advantage and what else ... Sorry about this, Magrold was a landlocked house with not much need for space travel so I don't know much about it. Sorry if I disappointed you." Garath scratched the back of his head and looked away, and while looking away he noticed a lot more people had joined the group.

"I wouldn't mind if you joined, although I can't speak for the others." Garath said in response to someone he didn't remember the name of.

"Mind if I join you?"

Blood Coyote turned to the newcomer. She was dressed in a strange dark fabric with a pattern unfamiliar to the Aztec. Her eyes shone like the morning sky: a bright blue that others shared in contrast to the typical browns and greens he was familiar with. She had with her something wrapped around her waist that looked to carry a weapon. This was in contrast to her general appearence: no scars or cuts of any sort. She didn't have as prominent muscles as did the Aztec, but he was a man of many battles. Perhaps she came from a place where war was different?
"You don't look like a warrior like me." Blood Coyote told the woman. "How do you fight?"

"You don't look like a warrior like me. How do you fight?"

Sidia thought for a moment. She was still a bit nervous about just telling everyone everything about her, but then again, she had already told Leon pretty much everything. Besides, if she wanted her new allies to trust her, it'd be better to tell them now. She just hoped Blood Coyote wouldn't think her methods were cowardly. "Well, I'm an assassin." Wait, would the Aztec be familiar with the word? "I guess you could say I'm like a warrior in the shadows. I rely on stealth and speed rather then strength, and I try to kill my enemy before they know I'm there. Still though, most of my targets tend to be fairly high up and important, like that guy," she made a quick gesture toward Villiers, "so they usually have bodyguards, which I sometimes end up having to fight head on, so I have to be good at hand-to-hand combat as well." She hoped that would be satisfactory. She scratched her arm, a nervous habit, also because the make-up she was wearing was getting really itchy and starting to feel gross.

She looked at the others in the group, "Actually, while we're on the subject, I'm curious about what kind of fighting styles all of you use."

"Mm?" Damien turned, coming face to face with Wayleon. He blinked at the young man, then glanced down at his cigarette with a small smile as the future being explained how advanced smoking technology had become, "Damn, dude, that's rad. Gotta get my hands on one of those before I head back to my own time, you know?" He chuckled a bit, exhaling a smoky breath, "And, well, I didn't see no 'No Smoking' signs. Don't really think they can stop me at this point anyway, hehehe."

He then watched as that odd Villers characters excused himself. Damien narrowed one eye, "He seems...interesting. Grumpy old dude." He mumbled mostly to himself, grinning a bit. He then glanced back at Wayleon, looking him over. He didn't much look older than him, and was quite a looker. He reminded Damien of some of his rivals in other bands back home. Maybe it wouldn't be bad to present a friendly front with this one, then. Smirking, he nodded at Wayleon, "Damien, by the way."

Clipper clicked his beak at Lucille as she asked about space travel, "Well, in my time, humans had fairly advances rockets and spacecraft that could get launched into space and go wherever was needed! Obviously this was quite far if such alien contact was made!" He made a metallic noise from his collar, a kind of laugh. He then perked up, eyeing one of said alienlike spoke up, asking about fighting styles. The crow lit up, ruffling his feathers, "Oh! Well, I was specifically bred for combat! And espionage, too. Humans thought my silent flight and clever mind was very good for sneaking about the battlefield. Also I can be quite fierce when I need to!" He blinked down at his sharp talon, and bobbed his tail up and down a little.

"Wow Clipper." James finally said, "No one would expect you to be able to do much, but after hearing about it, you are versatile." James wasn't speaking as much because he's trying to process this information and find a way to get to training without leaving rudely.

Hm.... a genetically modified crow? Is this what the future is like? That's slightly creepy. I think a good training session would be nice to clear my head. How would I go about moving our conversation to the training rooms. Should I put it bluntly? Well.... how else could I put it?

"So...." James starts, "Do you all want to move this discussion to the training rooms? We can talk there and start to resharpen our skills for our first mission."

"Sure, for what's remaining of the day," Wayleon said, looking at a clock that was positioned on the wall, reading 7:45 pm. "I can probably give about an hour, and then I'm going to hit the hay. I'd like plenty of sleep before we get carted off to god-knows-when..." he said, walking towards the melee room, and opening up the door to wait for James to come along.

Pulchra stood silently through the rest of the conversation.  She didn't like the sound of what would happen if she smoked one of the 'cigar-ettes', and she certainly didn't like the idea of not being able to stop doing it, either.  She looked disdainfully at the three that Damien showed Villiers.  They were exactly the same as the one he had in his mouth.  Smoking - Pulchra decided - looked exceptionally boring, and not a very worthwhile use of anybody's time at all.

Leon broke in, also interested in the cigarettes. "
The future is wonderful, my friend."  Pulchra stared at him like she'd just caught him peeing on her mother's favourite chair, wondering where on Earth he got an idea like that;  they were all experiencing the future and it could have been described, in Pulchra's opinion, as anything except wonderful.  Or beautiful, or great, or good, or bonny.  She sighed, just as Villiers took off his hat and offered it to her.  She began to reach for it, but he put it back on and walked away again.  She stared after him, very confused.

The man in the green and brown clothes spoke above everyone. "Do you want to move this discussion to the training rooms? We can talk there and start to resharpen our skills for our first mission."

Pulchra shifted where she stood.  It sounded as though - if she followed - she would have to fight.  She didn't want to fight at all, and she stepped back slightly from the group, afraid that someone would try to make her come along.

((I'm sorry I didn't post for so long - I might be a bit less regular now as school's back, but I should be at least a little more regular than I was now as I don't have any more performances until July))

Training rooms? Now was the chance for Eztli to learn how everyone else fought. Maybe he could fight with one of them? A friendly fight: the kind he would have with others back in his time when there wasn't a battle to go to or citizens to protect. Did they have the right weapons though? Blood Coyote really only knew how to use the weapons he trained with. He'd seen other tools of battle on warriors he killed or captured, but never used them. The woman who woke them up mentioned a place with weapons, but he couldn't remember where she directed them to.

"I'll go with yourself. Fighting makes me feel good. Makes me sleep better." he explained as he walked towards Sidia. He looked around at the strange building they were in. Still no sign of the warm sun he knew. Everything was so odd: the buildings he was from had directions on the walls and symbols to represent what each room had in it. "This place is big. Do we have map?".

James had suggested that they move the conversation to a training room, Lucille had never been trained for combat or anything at all, she felt like she probably wouldn't be good enough and that maybe she would be pushed aside, but then again, what did they have training rooms for if not to improve? She followed the rest of the group towards one of the doors. Everyone else seemed to be trained or used to fighting with weapons and Lucille hoped that someone would want to practice hand-to-hand combat with her. She caught up with James. "Do you know where you're going?" she said, grinning at him. She suspected that he didn't.

Everyone else made for the door but Villiers stayed behind, still leant against the door. He would wait for everyone to be in the training room and occupied before going anywhere at all, he might peek in and take a fencing sword if they had any but otherwise he had a total disinterest in the room.

"I know where i'm going. I hope." James says. He walks through the door and looks to the doors. Luckily, they were labeled. "Signs..... how helpful. I'll go practice with shooting. I need to recover some skill in there before I move on to close quarters combat."

James walks into the ranged combat training room.

((Um.... echo, can you describe the training rooms in more detail so I know what to do? I would write more, but I can't describe the rooms.))

Leon watched James walk into the ranged combat area, despite him holding the door open. Leon groaned and rolled his eyes, looking at the rest of the group that was approaching him. He was really hoping that someone else would come inside so he wouldn't look like such a dork. He could hear Blood Coyote talk about training. Oh no. I do not, do not want to fight Blood Coyote, he said, avoiding eye contact with the group.

Garath started towards the melee training room, but stopped before he got to the door "Training is all well and good, but I suggest we try to mainly learn how to use weapons we aren't already proficient in, because there may come a time were we can't choose what we fight with."  Garath said to the entire group and then continued into the melee room, nodding to Leon on the way in.

Well, at least others knew where they were going. She paid closer attention to the path they were taking this time.

Sidia shortly followed Garath inside the melee room, then looked around to see what kind of weapons there were. There was a large assortment of both primitive and futuristic weapons alike. It was kind of interesting to see them lined up, showing the progression from their more basic forms to the more advanced versions of what were basically the same thing. She wondered if they had weapons from other planets as well, since herself and Garath were there.

She tried to decide what to use. She wanted to a couple knives, since that was what she was used to, but decided against it. Still though, she didn't want to pick up something she had no idea how to use. Luckily, she had had some training in a few different weapons, so she had some options. She picked up a sword that had a mid-length, thin blade and was relatively light. She had some experience with this type of weapon, but it handled pretty differently from her knives. She gave a few practice swings to get a better feel for it, then turned to the door to see if anyone else had come in.

A room to practice with ranged weapons and a room to practice with melee weapons. Always being one who liked charging into the action, Eztli opted for the melee weapons room. Not that he didn't know his way with a spear and sling. But that was for later. Right now, smashing something would feel nice.

Eztli entered the melee room shortly after Sidia. He looked around at all the tools and felt excitement. Swords, knives, clubs, some sort of shiny thing with a square end; a collection of weapons that'd make any warrior back home envious. Some weapons were small shiny cylinders and didn't look effective while others immediately reminded him of his time. "This is some nice tools." he said to himself in awe. He approached a wall with an assortment of glittering and gleaming weapons and took hold of one.

It was a metal rod of about arm's length that ended in a ball with spikes. The handle was a comfy grip made of some sort of fabric. "Shiny cuahuitl. I like it. Heavy. Strong. Good to break with." he spoke, admiring the weapon. He swung it slowly around him, getting a feel for the tool.

Lucille entered the melee room along with the others, when she did Garath was talking about being proficient in more than one kind of weapon and some that you weren't familiar with. Luce had never even held a weapon that was any more than a bread knife, hand-to-hand combat was her style and she wasn't exactly going to be in a situation where her limbs weren't available... Would she? Either way she concluded that the best course of action would be to train with a weapon that seemed to be common throughout all cultures, swords or guns of some sort. A gun felt like the obvious choice - that way she didn't have to get near to people holding weapons. She walked over to the section of a wall that held the guns, she took a small pistol from it's place on the wall, feeling rather uncomfortable. Lucille tossed the gun up and down in her hand, it was heavier than she'd expected but looking at it she only had a vague idea how it even worked. She put it back on the wall and stood in a casual position feeling the need for assistance.

Once everyone had left the room, Villiers stood up straight and made for the door. He walked to the end of the sterile corridor and took the opposite direction to the others. After a couple more turns the corridors began widening and had fewer doors. He thought it odd that he hadn't seen other people but soon he came across a door that said "controls and personnel" he wasn't exactly sure what a 'personnel' was but it contained person and through a small window he saw some figures at desks. He quickly moved on from those doors and passed rooms labelled 'research,' 'laboratory,' and even 'hangar,' although like personnel he wasn't sure what that meant. The doors to those rooms had no windows so Villiers suspected they were dangerous. Despite the corridor's wide, white expanses, Villiers couldn't shake a small nagging feeling that he was being observed.

((Apologies for the lag in my replies; I've been rather slammed lately with my final studio project and havent had much time for anything else sigh ;___; ))

Clipper rode into the training rooms on James' shoulder, and made a pleased caw as he looked about the room. "Wow!" Opening his wings and flapping off the soldier's shoulder and onto the floor, he hopped along a few paces, curiously eyeing the weapons and area. There wasn't; much use for him with a great deal of the weapons, but he was happy to see so many options for his more humanoid allies. Flapping up onto a counter near the wall of weaponry, he looked at the various gleaming metals of the blades and gun barrels and made a quiet murmuring noise in enthrallment. How shiny!

Damien, meanwhile, turned and watched everyone piling into the melee and training rooms. "Well, guess that's the place to be right now, ain't it?" He said to know one in particular, taking another drag of his cigarette. Nodding a bit to himself, he stepped into the training room and looked around, eyes widening. He probably couldn't even name half of the weapons he saw in there! Trying not to look as in awe and lost as he suddenly felt, he walked with purpose over to gun around, finding a rifle and picking it up gently, trying to remember what he had learned the time he'd gone to a shooting range. Glancing over, he noticed that Victorian era girl, wasn't Lucille her name? She was standing before the gun rack as well, looking a bit overwhelmed.

He smirked a little and took a step towards her, still holding the rifle, "Some mind-blowing stuff here, right?" He said to her, casually. Couldn't help to start a conversation, especially with another one of the lovely ladies about.

Pulchra took a deep breath to steel herself, and – not wanting to be left alone – slipped into the room after the others.  Her light, cautious footsteps padded against the floor as she paced the room, trying to retain her bearings.  There were targets on one side of the room, though she could not tell for what until she surveyed the weapons on the large rack next to the door.  She decided she could safely presume that the knives and swords didn’t need long range targets, so that left everything in that section out.

There was an assortment of things on one side that Pulchra had never seen before in her life and they all seemed at least a little similar to each other.  There was one she spotted that was no larger than the palm of her hand that was a dull black, other than the handle, which was slightly matte.  She didn’t know what they were and – not wanting to hurt anyone (especially not with what looked like two long black pipes on a brown handle; that looked even less safe than the first one) – she gave them a wide berth.

She stepped to the side a little, and took one more long, hard look at the weapons until – finally – she found something that she had seen before: a slingshot.  She picked it up and plucked at it a little without loading it, and was pleased to find that it was exceptionally springy.  She smiled to herself, picked up the small wooden box of what she assumed would be projectiles, and made her way to the targets.

She was sure she could use it based on what she’d seen from the children in the street.

Garath looked at all the weapons around him trying to pick out one he didn't use during his stay in the Magrold army, however he instinctively reached for a katana that was on the wall. Then realizing that training himself more with a katana would be pointless so he grabbed a random weapon from the table, a weapon that turned out to be a two sided battle axe with a long handle. Garath gripped the handle with both hands and gave it a test swing. He was surprised to see how light the large axe was compared to a black steel weapon, black steel was known on Sul to be quite heavy, so in comparison this axe seemed quite light. "I could get used to a weapon like this." Garath said to no one in particular, giving the weapon a few more swings.

James walks in. There are a variety of weapons on the wall. "Well then, ours hosts have a nice stock, don't they?" James commented. He takes a rifle off the wall and inspects it, making mental notes of what the details are. The soldier sees the gun is loaded and proceeds to the target room. James opens the door to the sealed off room, glass was there so everyone could see what he's doing. He puts the ear shields ((as he calls them)), they looked like ear muffs. The soldier takes aim, everyone else shielded from the sound thanks to the glass. James pulls the trigger, the target had a hole in it.

James takes the ear shields off and walks out, putting the gun up. "Well, we know that works." he said. Lucille seemed to be having trouble, then Damien walked over and started talking to her. James looks back to the wall of weapons and finds a quiver of arrows and a bow. The soldier takes the bow and the arrows down and feels the weight. Light and simple to use. I think Lucille may be able to use this. I'll see if she wants them. James walks over to Damien and Lucille with what he collected and says, "Sorry to interrupt, but I think i've found something that Lucille can use. It's pretty light, but looks like it could do some damage if needed." James shows them the quiver of arrows and the bow.

((Would this be ok? There's got to be something for everyone.))

Lucille watched as Damien - that was his name, right? - picked up a massive gun. He seemed to know his way around it, she wondered how. He had asked her a question. "Some mind-blowing stuff here, right?" Lucille didn't respond for a moment and then said "Yeah, it's... wow." She couldn't think of any more fitting words for the sheer amount and diversity of the weapons. Before anyone could say anything else, James butted into the conversation, politely offering Lucille a bow. She regarded it with an ample amount of curiosity. She'd heard that bows took a lot of skill to master. She might be a natural - she was willing to give it a go. "Sure, I'll give that a try, although I don't think I'll master it easily and if I don't maybe you could show me how to use a gun." She gave him a smile and took the bow out of his hands eagerly and then added, as she realised she was about to rudely leave Damien behind "Why don't you give it a shot too?"

She let herself into the target room and unsheathed an arrow from the quiver and attempted to fit it to the bow without success, it kept slipping down and she dropped it a couple of times. Finally, she managed to work out how to balance the arrow so that it didn't fall out of place, then she raised the bow and took aim at the target's heart. As expected, she missed the mark but the arrow did manage to hit the thigh of the human shaped target. "Hey, that wasn't so bad."

James nods, "A bit of practice and you could be good with this. It's a light weapon, so it'll be easier to move around and carry. I'm not good with a bow, but I can hit my mark with a gun. I'm thinking it's because the lightness of the bow throws me off, or i'm just not good at it." The soldier thinks for a moment, then nods, "I'm going to choose a melee weapon, you two can go back to your conversation."

James walks back into armory and looks through the melee weapons, obviously quite daunted by the variety. What should I choose? There's so many. I'm not used to these. Some of them i've never even seen. I'm so lost.....

Once Sidia felt confident enough with her new weapon she looked around the room for someone to spar with. It looked like Garath and Blood Coyote had both found weapons, Garath had a battle axe and Blood Coyote had a... that was called a morning star, right? she had also seen it called a mace, but she was pretty sure it was called a morning star. Whatever, the specific name doesn't matter, especially if you're the one getting hit with it. Anyway, either of them would be good to spar with, though she doubted her little sword would be able to take a hit from either of them if she had to block with it. Luckily, her fighting style focused more on avoiding hits then blocking them.

Now the only question was who to ask. Oh, wait, it looked like the soldier- James was his name, wasn't it?- was in the room now, and looked a little lost. She thought maybe he could use a hand, and besides, she'd rather see how the others fought before fighting with them herself. She walked over to him and asked, "Need any help?"

James is looking through the weapons, trying to decide what seems reasonable to him to use, when Sidia asked him if he needed help. The soldier was relieved to have help. "Help? Yes, help would be nice. I'm not very good with melee weapons, although in my time, I had a knife. However, that doesn't seem to be good enough compared to these." James says, motioning to the wall of weapons. "I have no idea what to choose, to be honest. Maybe it's because i'm used to guns. So, what do you think I should use?"

He looks to the wall. Maces, axes, swords and all other kinds of close range weapons. There's so many. I wish I was good at using these. I know I can't lift an ax, i'm not that big. A light sword may be good. I'm not sure. James then adds, "I don't think i'd be able to lift an ax like him." he said, motioning to Garath. "That's about all i've have. The rest is foreign to me." James looks around, his eyes fall on the knives, then they shift to the swords. Those are likely my strong point. I really hope that I won't have to use these melee weapons often. I would rather use a gun, or even a bow.

"A lighter weapon probably would be a better idea for you, especially since you'll likely also be carrying a gun as your main weapon and you wouldn't want to weigh yourself down too much." She walked over to the wall and picked up a small knife, "Personally, I like using knives. They may not look like much compared other weapons, but they are still great weapons. Not to mention they are the most practical. As threatening as some of these weapons may look, most of them won't help too much in a survival situation. Besides, we only have today to train before we get sent off to wherever, so it would probably be a better idea to work on improving with something you have at least a little experience with rather then trying to learn something completely new." She offered him the knife, "Of course, if you have your heart set on trying something else, that's fine too."

Leon looked at the melee weapons. He could see what he was good at -- basically the more simply weapons, like staffs. And then he could see everything else. Knives, swords, nunchucks, some weapons he couldn't even begin to name. "Anyone in here wanna have a quick scrap? Sword or knife fighting, maybe?" he announced, knowing that those were common ancient weapons. He looked at all of the different varieties of swords, wondering which one he could begin to practice with.

Some of the others were approaching the variety of weapons and trying them out. He considered asking if anyone wanted to fight, but since many here didn't seem like the sort of warrior he was he decided to wait for someone else to put the offer on the table. And it just so happened that Leon, the man who looked to be chiseled from the finest lumber and stone, asked if anyone wanted to "scrap".

Eztli approached the man. "We have scrap." he told the lightly-tanned man. He spoke confidently, though English wasn't his primary tongue. "What rules do you want? When I fight with other ocēlōmeh, we say that first to bleed is the loser. Surrender is fine." The Aztec man held his newfound weapon tightly. He was eager to try it out, though he hid it very well.

Leon looked at Eztli, and tried his best not to grimace. He didn't want to die. Did Aztecs have swords, though? So many thoughts were swirling through his mind, but he didn't want to turn down a fight after asking for one. He might as well just tell everyone he was an eunuch. "Alright. But the professor said the weapons weren't sharp. I guess whoever calls it off, if we can't manage to scratch eachother," Wayleon said, glancing down at the swords. He picked one up, a scimitar. He felt its weight in his hands, and Wayleon almost could believe that people would swing things like this around for a living. Well, I'm not gonna win this one, but can't back down...

Leon walked a few paces away from the group, and removed his shoes, so he was standing on the mats in just his socks. He realized that leaving shoes on for traction may have been a better idea, but the habit of taking his shoes off before martial arts as a kid was too ingrained in his head. Leon held the scimitar, hoping he had made the correct weapon choice for the occasion. He looked at the height of Blood Coyote. Did it really matter, anyways?

James looks at Sidia, then takes the knife, listening to her reasoning to consideration. Survival. Light. I will be carrying a gun mainly. That could weigh me down. This knife. The soldier's gaze shifts to the knife. He looks it over, checking for knicks and dents. It was dulled, as the professor said. This knife is light. It is thin, but looks reliable.

James takes a test swing into the air, away from Sidia. He nods, "This looks like a good choice, Sidia." The soldier thinks for a moment, then has a realization. "I just realized something. Knives can be used in close range combat, and they can be thrown, so they're versatile. Practical and useful in a survival situation, like you said. Thank you once again."

James looks to see the aztec and the person, who's features look too perfect to be natural, starting a bout. Blood Coyote holding what looked like a mace, and Leon.... was it? Leon holding a sword with a curved blade. "Looks like the first training match is set up." James said, motioning to the aztec and Leon.

Eztli walked to where Leon was and stood across from him. The Aztec warrior was still in his "uniform": they must have captured him when he was returning from battle. Or maybe during a celebration where he was standing guard. None of that mattered: his job now was to fight with his new ally to ensure the man was ready for war.

Leon mentioned the weapons not being sharp. Blood Coyote touched the end of the morningstar and felt it dull. No chance to cut, but it was still heavy and strong enough to smash through a shield and break a few bones. Maybe it could break through the strange shiny stick that Leon held? "Whoever calls off then." he said to Leon, unsure what this new victory condition was. He'd just have to make the man ask to stop fighting. Maybe that was "calling off"? At any rate, this man didn't look strong, so Eztli decided to start him off easy.

The Jaguar warrior let out a soft snarl and lunged at Leon. He swung the strange shiny cuahuitl vertically over his head: a downward strike meant to knock an opponent to the floor had this been a real battle. His attack was quick, but slow enough that the man should be able to block or move. "Move quickly!" he growled as he attacked.

Leon tightly grasped his weapon, waiting for Eztli to make a move. As the Aztec lunged towards him, Leon felt the need to hang onto the content of his bowels. "Eeeurgh!" he word-vomitted, throwing his blade into the air, clashing them together, and then moving off to the side. Leon's heart was pounding. So it began.

He cool tell Eztli was taking it easy on him, and Leon had a lot to be thankful for, as far as that went. He took a deep breath, graphed the scimitar, and attempted a juvenile side-swing at the chest of the warrior.

Eztli stood his ground, but moved his upper torso backwards to dodge the slash.
"Good! No fear attack. Keep enemy afraid!" he told the young man. This weapon that Leon was using looked to have one sharp end used for cutting, like a long knife. The Aztec warrior heard of such weapons used in far away places by men with skin pale like the moon.

The Jaguar Warrior crouched down low and swept at Leon's legs: a tactic he picked up in his youth to trip and incapacitate enemy warriors. He was avoiding attacking too aggressively, lest he let his instinct as a warrior take over and cause potentially serious injury to his "opponent".

"Oof!" Leon was swept down to the ground, and fell flat on his back. He gasped as he could feel his lungs rattle about in his ribcage. He remembered getting battered as a kid from getting right back up, so he rolled to the side, and rose to his feet as quickly as possible. Wayleon huffed, feeling out of shape comparitavely, and slicked his hair back with his hand quickly, moving all stray hairs out of his face. An elastic may be a good investment in the future... he thought. He then began to rapidly think of his next move to make.

Instead of attacking, Leon decided to assume a readied, defensive position, and wait for a strike to react to.

Leon held the…weapon in front of himself. His posture and stance made him look like he was bracing himself for an attack. Shame he didn't have a shield, Eztli considered those to be more effective.

The Jaguar Warrior took a few steps toward the man with the sword, closing the distance between himself and his sparring partner. He bent his knees a bit and lunged again at Leon, this time swinging the weapon horizontally away from his chest.

Damien watched as that WWII soldier (James, right?) came over and offered Lucille a bow, before the two headed for the target ranges. He blinked as he heard Lucille tell him to maybe give it a shot too. He looked down at the rifle in his hand and smirked a little. Can't hurt to see how rusty I am, right? He thought, before walking into the shooting range.

Spying a suitable target, Damien carefully loaded the gun as best as he could, before aiming. He gritted his teeth a little; even with his cigarette, his hands were still quite a bit jittery, and he wasn't entirely sure the bullet in this rifle would be landing anywhere near the target he wanted to hit. Deciding to give it a go anyway, he gripped the gun and carefully focused, before squeezing the trigger. The force knocked him back a bit with an audible 'OOF!' as he staggered back a few paces. Ears ringing a little, he looked up, expecting the bullet hole to be somewhere off in the next arena. To his surprise, though, the human-shaped target had a nick on its right shoulder. Not the best, but surely something.

"Damn, lookit that!" Damien grinned, proud. So, at least he could handle one weapon. He wasn't too worried about the more melee-based artillery available; he'd been told on multiple occasions his own fists and body could truly wreck someone pretty bad.

Sidia gave a slight smile and nod as if to say you're welcome. Then she heard something going on nearby.

"Looks like the first training match is set up."

She looked over to see the aztec and Leon fighting. "Huh, what an interesting match up," she commented, "Leon's actually not doing too bad." It looked like Blood Coyote (didn't he have a shorter name? she couldn't remember it) was going easy on Leon and coaching him through the fight. She hoped to find a sparring partner herself soon. Maybe she'd challenge the winner? Or maybe James? Though, would he even want to fight using a melee weapon right now? She didn't want to push him, so she decided she'd challenge the winner of this match unless someone challenged her first.

Though for now she kinda just wanted to watch and see how this went. Plus, it was a good chance to get some idea about how the aztec fought.

Garath watched the mismatched pair, Leon and Eztli started sparring. Garath would have liked to spar with the Aztec or anyone for that matter, however his ceremonial armor locked up if he moved to fast and it took a long time to remove. So instead of looking for training fight Garath just leaned against a wall and started absently swinging his axe around.

The sword slammed into Leon's scimitar, and Leon cringed as he felt his wrist twist in a manner it was not meant to. He took a sharp inhale, and swore audibly. He took a second to move his wrist. It felt pretty nasty, so he changed his sword to his other hand. He wasn't as good with his left hand, but you never knew when you'd only have one hand available. "I'm still in, just for a little while longer," Leon informed Eztli, shaking his hand. He hoped it wasn't broken. Note to self, this weapon is not good for blocking...

Leon tried to do another swing with his left hand towards Eztli's torso, but his thrust was rather awkward.

Lucille considered the shot Damien had just made he'd said "Damn, look at that" however hadn't specified what exactly he was damning. Was he condemning his shot? He looked too proud for that. She dismissed it and replied with "Have you been practising?!" she laughed and then focused on the bow.

She felt a certain aptitude and familiarity with the bow that she couldn't explain. She pulled another arrow from the quiver and fixed it to the bow the same way she had with the one before. Don't worry if you miss, though. she told herself. It's only your second arrow and the last one could have been a fluke. She stuck out her tongue slightly in concentration, raised the bow and focused the shot towards a point just above the head as her last shot had gone lower than the place she'd aimed it at.

She loosed the arrow and flinched in pain - the bowstring had sprung backwards into her face! "Ahhhf" she exclaimed. Her arrow had flown though. Its tip, when she looked, was buried in the chin of the mannequin. Lucille smiled widely. "How about that then?" She looked at Damien as if to challenge him to shoot closer to one of the targets.

Damien blinked and glanced at Lucille as she made her remark. He breathed a laugh, "Hey, it's been a while since I shot something, alright? That was pretty good for the first time in, like, forever." He shrugged and wiped off the gun barrel, "I'm rusty." He still felt good about the shot, as poor as it was.

However, out of the corner of his eye, he watched Lucille fire her bow. Even though the bow gave her a bit of a slap in the face on the drawback, the arrow had managed to land in a pretty good position, the target's 'chin' area. He turned and narrowed an eye. It looked like only her second shot, the first also pretty good. He felt a competitive streak flare up inside him. Especially once she tossed a 'How about that, then?' his way.

Snorting, he tightened his grip on the rifle, "So you got a pretty good shot with some fancy arrows. No big deal." Turning to the target with a renewed purpose, Damien held up the gun and aimed. His hands were still a bit jittery, and he had to take a few quick breaths to get them calm down a little. C'mon, Damien, don't let he show you up! With a tight grit of his teeth, he narrowed his eyes and fired.

The blowback not as bad as the first time, with Damien only having to stumble back a step or two. Running a hand through his golden hair, he looked up, breathing quickly. A slow grin managed to work its way onto his face, though, as he noticed a bullethole clean through the left side of the target's 'chest'. A much more decent shot than the first one. "Yeah! Eat that!" He cried in victory, winking at Lucille and holding the rifle over his shoulder.

Clipper, meanwhile, has managed to tear himself away from the shiny weapons long enough to peer in on Leon and Eztli's little sparring session. The crow watched from the floor, amazed at the fighting prowess of the Aztec (and the future boy, to a lesser extent). He blinked, looking down at his own sharp talons, and tried to imagine them holding a word or mace.
"...That would be quite heavy," He remarked to himself, clicking his beak.

The Aztec's attack came a bit stronger than he intended, and Leon looked injured. Before he could speak, the man changed the weapon to his non-dominant hand and attacked again, albeit with less finesse than he would have with his right hand.
Eztli admired the man's quickness to attack after being mildly injured. He didn't look trained for combat, and given the situation he wasn't in any sort of blood lust that the pain could be shrugged off. For someone with little apparent training in fighting, this man was doing well enough that he *wasn't* completely horrible. But this was just the Aztec's opinion: his whole life was about training for war and battle. He didn't know of life outside of bloodshed and screams.

Eztli blocked the man's attack as he would have with a club. But, considering the weapon's weight was still foreign to Eztli's hands and Leon's awkward trust, Eztli almost lost his balance.
"Good. Like spear. Hard to stop." he told the man as he regained his composure.
"You have warrior spirit. Fight past pain. Ignore injury and chance of death."

"Thank you," Leon said, cracking a small smile. He never thought he'd have his fighting style complemented by an Aztec. "Hey, is it alright if I trade weapons to something you're good at, so you can teach me a thing or two? I don't like this weapon as much as I thought I would. What kinds of weapons did you all use? Spears?" Leon said, turning his back to Eztli and looking at the rows of weapons. He already had some competency with spears, but nothing too serious -- especially compared to what the jaguar would know.

He used his hand to wipe his hair back again. He didn't think he would be so comfortable around a frightening looking man like Blood Coyote, but he found himself relatively at ease after fighting with him. He was greatly experienced, and made a great mentor.

Eztli considered his words. The man sought to learn a weapon Eztli was accustomed to. Though the request was a bit out of line for someone not of Aztec blood, there was no reason Leon could be taught how to wield a good weapon. Especially if the teacher was Eztli himself. Besides, if what the woman from much earlier said was true, there were no Aztecs left. These strange beings were his new family, his new people.

Eztli approached the wall and returned his mace. He looked along the massive stockade of weapons, running his hand along the various shapes and metals, until he found a simple club. It didn't have the broken pieces of obsidian like the Maquahuitl, but it looked effective. Unbeknownst to the Jaguar warrior, he grabbed what was essentially a strong cricket bat. He also grabbed a shield made of material he was familiar with. It was a buckler, though he didn't know that.

"Maquahuitl. Club. Used to smash. Made from wood." he told Leon with a slight smile. "When I was young, I used this to break enemy's knees. That is how I became Jaguar warrior." He held the weapon out to Leon for him to take. "Attack. I block. Show you how to get past defenses."

"Eat that?" Lucille repeated "You have a funny way of saying things!" she had gotten the drift of his exclamation though, he had accepted her challenge and now they were in a sharp shooting battle which probably wouldn't end until one of them had hit the middle of the target. She wondered how many times he had shot a gun before, how big her handicap was. The only weapon she had ever held before this was a butter knife that she had used in personal defence before - she never got to use it though because it had turned out her assailant was just her friend playing a trick.

How many arrows would she use before she managed to hit the centre of the target? She decided to find out. She rubbed her stinging lip for a moment before repeating the process of removing an arrow from her quiver, fixing it to the bow and aiming. She aimed ever so slightly above the outer circle of the target where the mannequin's heart was. She made sure to hold the bow a little from her face to avoid another accident and she loosed the arrow. It flew gallantly and pitted itself in the second ring towards the centre, of which there were 4, an outer red one, then white -to which Lucille's arrow was now attached, then blue and the centre was red.

She smiled at her triumph and without feeling a need for words to explain herself, she looked over to Damien and made a small "Hmph?" as if to confirm that he could do no better.

Leon picked up the bat. It looked like a baseball bat had been flattened like a pancake. However, it had some decent weight to it. He held it like a baseball bat, with his two hands around the gripping area. He saw that the warrior had brandished himself with a shield. Hmm... he probably wouldn't see this coming... Leon thought, swinging the bat by his shoulder, and swinging it into Eztli as if he was a gigantic, human baseball.

He tried to his best to suppress his memories of playing baseball at home as a kid.

Well, the fight was over, but it looked like Eztli was now training Leon. She decided she ask one of them for a match some other time. For now, maybe she should work with long range weapons. She explained to James, "Well, if you need help with anything, I'll be training with long range weapons. See you later." She lay the sword she had been holding against the wall and moved to the other room.

Looked like Lucille and Damien were already there. "Hope I'm not intruding," she said, trying to be polite.

Eztli looked down at his shield as Leon grabbed the bat. This shield had bits of something shiny embedded into it and was made of a solid wood with what looked like hide on the outside. Easy to maneuver and small enough to put down should there be need to attack with both hands. A sudden feeling of unease came over Blood Coyote.

He ducked, though not fast enough. With a loud smack, Leon struck him on the side of the head. Eztli fell to his knees and held himself up with his free arm. An unexpected attack. Effective, though of questionable morality. The Aztec licked his lips and tasted some blood. His ears were ringing as he slowly stood up. He looked to Leon with a stern glare. He let out a soft snarl, complete with raising the edge of his mouth to bare his teeth.

James nods, he didn't need help with long range combat. Every weapon he has is basically long ranged. The soldier looks the blade of his knife over. It looked nice and sturdy, the wooden handle felt surprisingly comfortable to him. Why does this feel.... comfortable to me? Very odd. James takes a few test swings with the knife, it felt.... almost like a part of him. The soldier was frightened in his mind by this.

This feels..... natural to me. What's going on? Is this.... my knife? James looks into the blade, it's so shiny.... he can see his reflection in it. There are dummies at an end of the melee training room, away from everyone else. No one is in his line of sight. He holds the blade in a neutral position, then in a throwing position. James looks again, no one in his way. The soldier throws the knife at a dummy, it lands in the shoulder. "Guess I know what I will use." James says quietly to himself, walking past Leon and Blood Coyote to the dummy that so kindly caught his knife for him. The soldier dislodges the knife from the dummy and looks to the blade again, no knicks, still shiny. The dummy, on the other hand, had a good sized cut in it from the thrown knife.

Wow..... this knife is a quality knife. I like it a lot.

Leon dropped the weapon to the ground, immediatelyrushing towards Eztli. "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I didn't think I would actually hit you!" he said, panicking, and not wanting to lose what he was developing to Eztli. When the snarl came, leon almost jumped back. "I know that hitting people in the head, especially with force like that, is really wrong. So you can just unleash your worst on me. Take a swing, ruin my face with that shield... Just try not to kill me," Wayleon said, eyes flashing with panic.

Garath started towards Eztli and Leon stopping briefly to complement James "Good throw." he said, nodding. When Garath was within sprinting distance of the sparring match he stood ready to jump in and intercede, for while Leon had struck first  Garath was sure a big warrior like Eztli could take it in stride, but despite Leon offering to get hit by Eztli Garath was unsure if he could take a hit from the Aztec. So Garath stood there with his axe looking slightly menacing.

Damien's eyes widened, before narrowing to slits at the sight of Lucille's excellent shot with the bow. He could hear one of the alien girls approaching, saying something about hoping they weren't intruding. He snorted, but smirked.

"Nah, you're just in time, actually." His smirk evolved into a small grin, as he took the rifle and started to aim it at the target, "Just in time to see me make a gnarly shot that'll be way more awesome than this girl's!" Teeth clenched, he aimed the rifle, focusing on making his hands not shake as much. He was getting better, mind finally calming his nerves down for once. With a determined stare, he pulled the trigger, and was pleased with how this time he barely stumbled at all from the kick of the gun.

Eager to see where his shot had ended up, Damien squinted. There in the target zone of his mannequins chest area, was indeed a bullet hole. It was small, round, and right on the border of the white and blue rings. Compared to Lucille's arrow, in fact, the two shots would actually be pretty close.

Damien swore quietly, brow furrowing. He'd been hoping for much better than that. At least he was getting better with the rifle; it was starting to feel 'right' in his hands. He still was peeved, though. Being on par with anyone was not his favorite of activities; his true love was being above skill level. Glancing at Lucille, he breathed a laugh, trying to recover, "Mine's still closer to the center."

"You drop weapon and beg mercy. Sounds like I win." Eztli said. His sneer became a smile for a brief moment, only to return to the jaguar-like barring of teeth. He even let out a little laugh, though it sounded more like a mix between a grunt and a laugh. "Next time, swing harder. Make them sleep. That way more time to run. Or tie up enemy. Or kill." Eztli picked up the cricket bat and handed it back to Leon.

"I won't let you beat me!" Lucille replied heartily. She really wanted to show Damien up, it would be a fantastic moment for her and would truly cement her familiarity with the bow. She raised it again and readied another shot. She tried to relax herself, if she got too frustrated about trying to hit the centre she'd just miss terribly. Her shoulders had tensed and she unclenched them and breathed out. She aimed for the point where here arrow had hit last time. She wasn't sure how much closer to the centre it might get.

She loosed the arrow and it flew true towards the target, arching towards the coloured rings. it landed in the middle of the blue section. only slight closer than Damien's. She was getting better every time. She laughed a little but she knew that from her arrow there was only one step closer to the centre that there could be. If his next shot went well then he would hit the red core and probably not stop rubbing in his triumph. "So CLOSE!" she exclaimed. Lucille turned to Damien. "Go on then, take the victory." she motioned to his mannequin and hoped that he might miss and embarrass himself in front of the other girl/alien - Sidia.

((Editing in a little check-in with dear Georgie Boy.))
Villiers carried on walking the corridors without meeting a single person and then he realised that he was going in circles as he kept seeing the same numbers on doors over and over again. He reached long corridor with 'hangars' "0.1" "0.2" and "0.3" on the left hand side for the fourth time and decided that maybe that was where they kept the transportation as there were only three doors on a longer, wider corridor. He imagined that they didn't have horses and carriages like back home but any way out may be better than none. Since he had not seen anyone come out of any of the rooms he thought it would be safe to poke his head around the door to 'hangar' 0.3.

He approached the door, it didn't have a lock and simply opened when he approached it. He was stood in plain view of anyone in the room. Luckily, there was no one and he was met by a wide grey corridor that turned right at the end as if avoiding another corridor. He stepped as quietly as possible down the corridor but every footstep reverberated. When he approached the corner he peered around to see it open out into a giant room. He crept inside quickening his pace. There was not many people about except at the other end of the room who were bumbling sparsely around a largish machine. Would that get him out of here? He began edging slowly around the edge of the room.

"Okay, yeah, you do win this time! But that's just because I didn't want to die before we went on our first mission!" Leon said, cracking a little smile as Blood Coyote became more relaxed. He looked up at the clock. It was just about 8pm, and Leon was incredibly tired. Not only had the medication completely worn off, but he was wiped out from the fight with Eztli. There was no point in staying up. "I'm going to get some rest, though. I look forward to working with you tomorrow," Leon said, walking out of the room with a quick wave in Eztli's direction.

Sidia watched their competition for a minute. They were pretty good. She would have complimented them, but they were a little too quick for her to get a word in. Instead, she decided she'd just get to work and practice.

She looked at the different weapons in the room, trying to decide what to use. There were a lot of guns around, though she wasn't a fan of guns, they were a little too loud for her taste. She found a few knives designed to be thrown and decided to practice with those. She had used such knives many times before, they were her preferred ranged weapon, but it couldn't hurt to practice a little. Maybe she'd try a bow or something after.

She picked up one of the knives and gave it a quick toss to get a feel for the weight. She walked back to the targets and took aim at one of the targets that weren't being used then, without warning, quickly threw it. The knife embedded itself in the target, dead center. She let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. Perhaps she didn't need to practice with knife throwing.

She decided to move on to something else. She picked up a bow and quiver of arrows and went back to the targets. She took a little more time to aim this time, she wasn't too used to bows. She subconsciously held her breath and let the arrow fly. It landed near the inner edge of the ring outside the center. Not as good as with the knife, but passable, she decided. She looked over at the other two to see how they were doing.

James looks to Sadia and nods, "Well, you have had practice, obviously. Good shot." he says. The soldier takes aim with his knife and throws it. Something distracted him and the soldier missed the target, but embedded itself in the grout in one tile, making him look like a better shot than he was. James stares at his knife, dumbfounded. He feels someone's burning gaze on him.

"Anyone know how that happened?" James asked, walking up and retrieving his knife from the wall. He pulled on it, stuck. James tried again, it was not coming out of the wall. "I think it's stuck." he says. "Can I have some help?" The soldier yanks on it again, it comes out and almost falls, blade first, onto his boot. Luckily, the handle is what makes contact and the knife bounces to the ground. "Never mind!" he says, picking the knife up and dusting his boot off.

James goes back to throwing knives after a while, and he starts getting into a rhythm. The soldier makes a few good shots, and even a bullseye. James always checks the knives every few minute to be sure they they have no knicks in the blades. They were always perfect. "Looks like I have a new weapon to use." he mutters under his breath.

((Alright, let's cut this stuff. Timeskip! Feel free to talk about what your characters had been doing until this morning!))

Leon navigated his way down the hall, until he got to rooms that had names written on them. Garath, Eztli, Damien... They weren't in any sort of alphabetical order. He grunted, until he reached the 4th room, located on the right. Wayleon grunted, opening the door, and entering.

The room was basic. Plain walls were painted brown, probably because they were more relaxing than white. However, he could tell that that's all it was. Brown painted onto white, to give him the illusion of being at home before he rested. Leon was about to remove his shirt, when he hear a knock on the door. He pulled it back down under him, and opened the door up with his good hand.

The professor was standing there, with a very slight smile on her face. Pleasant enough, Leon considered, as he opened his mouth to talk. "Hey, what's up?"

"I was in the office, and I was watching the security footage of you fighting Etzli. I noticed your wrist got hurt, and I'm just going to give this to you, so tomorrow your hand won't be hurting. It could potentially tip the balance," she said, opening her palm and shaking a small white pill into it. Leon took it out of her hands. "If you need water to wash that down, there's a small glass in your cupboard," she said, pointing over at the mirror in front of the sink. "And, yes, I saw you slam that bat into him, too. He's getting a pill as well to make sure he doesn't get a concussion." the professor then began to turn around, and walk away from his room, towards her office.

"Uh, thanks!" Leon called after her, but not too high above speaking level. He walked over to the mirror, and pushed on the wooden lining, revealing a cupboard. Leon grabbed the small glass, and filled it with water from the sink below. When his moved his head upwards to swallow the pill, he looked into the cupboard, and found a few elastic hairties. Leon couldn't help but crack a smile, grabbing one, and putting his hair up with it.

As he began to twist the hairtie into his locks, he felt a jolt of pain from his wrist. However, as he continued to tie his hair, he noticed the pain had totally subsided. Leon looked down at his wrist, moving it about. It felt perfect.

Leon decided to continue his undressing ritual, getting down to his undergarments. Even if he wanted to wear pajamas, he felt uncomfortable at the though of getting naked, and dreaded having to do it in the morning. There were probably tiny, invisible cameras pointed all over the place, and he wasn't exactly comfortable with the idea of them being in his room.

He got into bed, and closed his eyes. Despite his feelings of apprehension, Leon renounced his state of being awake almost immediately.

PRESENT TIME: 3:00 AM

A loud, blaring alarm shook Leon into awareness. It was reminiscent of the sound of a nuclear bomb alarm, with its high-pitched reverberations. The siren pierced the silent airwaves. Leon opened his door, confused and afraid as to what exactly was going on. Being in a daze, he opened his door, and popped his head outside. Nothing appeared to be wrong, although red lights were flashing down the hallway. The crackle of an intercom came on, loudly announcing over the sirens.

"All travelers, please dress yourselves and report outside of your room immediately. I repeat: Everybody, please dress yourselves and report outside of your room immediately." The professor's familiar voice said. The voice sounded calm enough, although there was a slightly detectable hint of panic in it. Leon put his head back in, closed the door, and immediately began dressing himself in one of his duplicate outfits.

When he was finished, Leon opened his door, and stepped outside of his room, waiting to see what was going on. His heart was pounding, and his stomach was in knots. What had happened?

Damien grinned viciously at the sight of Lucille's near miss. His next shot had to hit the bullseye with this luck! "Don't mind if I do, princess." he winked at the girl, before aiming his rifle with as much care as he possibly could. He lined up with the red bullseye, smirking wildly. Hopefully Lucille wouldn't be too sore when he bested her at their little shooting game.

Clipper, meanwhile, was growing rather excited with the clash between Etzli and Leon. Such displays of strength got him absolutely pumped, he couldn't help but express his excitement. Fluffing his feathers up the crow hopped atop a steel counter, giving a loud 'CAW!' of a cheer. Said caw was loud enough to reverberate into the shooting range, catching Damien entirely off guard. With a yelp he staggered forward, finger tensing around the trigger and shooting the rifle 100% before he was ready. Catching himself and standing up, the startled rockstar squinting, spying where his shot had ended up: several inches up from the bullseye, more in the area of the mannequin's chin.

Damien clenched his teeth tightly, feeling his cheeks flare up in embarrassment and frustration. He'd messed up and missed horrendously. Worse, it wasn't his fault! Turning to Lucille, he licked his lips and pointed at her, "We aren't gonna talk about this." Combing fingers through his hair, he tossed the rifle on the counter, before turning and stomping out of the shooting range before she could reply. Now far too embarrassed to interact with anyone else, Damien decided to hole away in his room and quickly tore down the hallway to do so.

***
The rest of Damien's evening and night was uneventful. He jumped into bed quickly after getting into his room, thanking every deity he could think of that there weren't that many people in the shooting range when he'd botched up his last shot. What a mess! Thankfully, once sleep came to him, his feelings of panicked shame faded away.

They were, however, replaced with panicked shock as, at 3AM, a loud alarm practically knocked him out of bed. Hair everywhere in his face, Damien stumbled around. Are we being attacked? He thought wildly, mind clearing from its state of panic to focus on the voice of the professor crackling over the intercom. She said something about reporting outside dressed and ready, and if he'd been more alert he'd probably have noticed the tiny hints of panic in her voice. Snorting, he looked down at himself. He was shirtless, as he always slept, so he supposed he'd have to do something about that.

A few minutes later, Damien stumbled out of his room into the hallway, nervously combing his fluffy hair down. Mentally, he reminded himself to light up a smoke later; his nerves were off the charts and that blaring alarm wasn't making things much better. Glancing around, Damien spied a small figure bobbing along the floor; that super-smart crow, Clipper.

"Him." He clenched his teeth a little, heavily certainly the bird was the cause for his screw up yesterday. What a little jerk.

After Damien had left he shooting room in a huff, Lucille had laughed a little, but not in a mean way. He had been distracted, his poor shot was hardly his own fault. She had carried on practising until she got a bullseye with her bow which, in all reality was only two arrows after Damien's departure. Lucille walked down to the mannequin and retrieved each arrow - with a fair bit of yanking. Then she placed each back in the quiver and on its hanging spot on the wall. Then she had left the room to find the dorms.

As it happened, they were only one or two corridors away. The girls' rooms were at the far end of the corridor with Lucille's being the last on the right. Upon entering she had changed into the night gown, combed out her hair and had the most comfy nights' sleep it was possible to have.

That was until 3AM when the professor's voice rung out over blaring sirens telling the group to assemble on the corridor in decent clothing. A night gown was hardly decent, but it would take too long to put her dress back on. Confused as to what to do she simply left the room and stood in front of her door, still rubbing flecks of yellow sleep from her eyes. Once she had focused on the corridor she looked up the hall at the rest of the group. Damien was there, looking roused and in need of a cigar. Notably, however, the Duke of Buckingham, was not. Come to think of it, the last time she had seen him was back in the meeting room where each of the group had first spoken to each other. Where had the great buffoon gone?

James kept practicing with his knife, and watching Lucille practice with the bow he got her. Looks like I made a good choice. Lucille is an apt archer. thought the soldier as he threw the knife. What will happen tomorrow, will it all be explained? Is this a dream? Is this an elaborate hoax? James is still skeptical everything he's heard and saw today, but what choice does he have but to believe? The Hawaiian saw the "rrrrockstar" miss a shot completely, throw down the rifle and storm out. Sometimes, you may miss your target, but still make a good hit. James grinned after seeing an opportunity to fire a gun for real.

Half an hour later, James put the rifle back on the shelves, glad to hold a gun and get some real practice in. Most of the time travelers had left the training room when he had started, and he had a lot of silence to concentrate, which helped him score some decisive hits. That was a successful practice. James thought as he walked towards the dorms. They were not in any particular order, but luckily, his was one of the first ones on the left. The soldier walked in and the room looked like his at home. "I need to have my head examined after this is over." James muttered under is breath. His hands went reflexively to his pocket and a small bit of rope was pulled out from the pocket. The Hawaiian man started absentmindedly tying knots into it, as he did when he was nervous. As he went on, the knots looked cleaner and cleaner, until every knot James tied looked passable. He then untied the knots and put the rope by his bed, then James started to get ready for bed. A few minutes later, he went into a restless, shallow sleep, one that James was used to ever since he enlisted.

At 3 AM came the official wake-up call, but James was already awake, as he didn't sleep well due to the anticipation. The call came, and translated it into a message that he understood and thought of as he dressed in a flash, Attention all personnel, this is your official wake up call. Wake up and prepare to march. The soldier started to walk out but then remembered something. He grabbed his bit of rope and started tying knots into it again as he walked out into the hallway. James looked up for a moment, Lucille was in her nightgown, everyone else was dressed, save Clipper, but he's a crow, so that checks out. Clipper was the only one who didn't looked tired and confused. James went back to his rope, tying more knots into it, sometimes slowly nodding of shaking his head, frustrated, and untying the knots.

"Well, you have had practice, obviously. Good shot."

"Thanks," she said to James with a rather pleased tone in her voice. The rest of the time spent in the training rooms was uneventful, save for a loud caw and and upset "rrrrockstar". Once she noticed the others were leaving, she decided she might as well leave too.

She walked to the dorms and looked for her room. Seems like all the girls' rooms are farther down the hall. She found hers to be the first of the girls' rooms on the left side. Once she entered her room, the first thing she did was take a shower. Though she was thankful they all had their own private bathrooms, the compact shower design was not doing her any favors. Now that she had finally allowed her wings, tail and horns to grow back to their full size, they were taking up most of the room in the small shower. Must have been an oversight on the part of whoever designed the rooms. After she left the bathroom, she found that the only sleepwear she was provided was a nightgown. Not really what she would have preferred, but at least it had holes in the back for her wings. That was nice of the designers. After putting the nightgown on, she gave her wings a few quick test flaps. She found that they were a little weakened. She wasn't surprised, really, it has been a long time since she last was able to use them, even before all this time-travel stuff happened, but it still meant she wouldn't be able to fly for a while. She decided she work on them next chance she got, then went to bed and quickly fell asleep.

At 3 AM a loud alarm snapped her awake. She quickly got dressed in one of her duplicate outfits while listening to the professor speak over intercom. Was this a normal wake-up call? It sounded too loud, urgent, and panicked to be a regular wake-up call. She didn't bother hiding her wings, tail and horns this time, it would take too long to shrink them back down and it didn't really matter anymore anyway. She then stepped outside her room and stood in front of her door. Looking around, she could see some of the others already out. Still confused about what was going on, she just stood there and waited to see what was happening.

Garath placed the axe back where he found it, his armor was becoming uncomfortable so he decided he should retire to his room. Once in his room Garath started to remove his armor and place it near the bed he realized that the situation wasn't nearly as bad as he originally thought so maybe he didn't need to return to Sul as quickly as possible. After he removed his armor Garath realized how tired he was, so he promptly fell asleep.

Being woken up by an alarm meant something bad in Garaths experience so he responded quickly to the professors voice over the intercom, throwing on some duplicates of his earth clothes and proceeding to the hall way outside. He noticed that most of the others were already awake, but Garath was going to wait for a explanation for the alarm before he relaxed.

(Do Garaths duplicate clothes include duplicates of his armor?)

After the training exercise, Eztli and the others retired to their respective rooms. His was close to the hallway, just past the shiny man's room. He walked in and was greeted by a familiar scent. It was a dry, sweet scent. The smell of his hometown. A faint odor of cornmeal being cooked in a stone oven, freshly cut lumber, moist dirt. The walls too had a design that reminded him a bit of home, though they were solid in color. The sentiment was nice.

The professor came into his room.
"You and Leon were sparing, right? You took a nasty hit to the head. I saw on the security footage." she explained. Eztli nodded when she mentioned the 'hit on the head', but wasn't sure what this 'security footage' was.
"Here. Take this. It will clear up your head and prevent concussion." she added, holding out a white pill. Blood Coyote looked at it with some confusion. What she said suggested some manner of medicine, but the Aztec had only ever seen plants or fibers used in treating illnesses and wounds.
"Oh! You put in your mouth and swallow. A glass of water helps." she explained after seeing the man's look of confusion. She grabbed a cup, used a shiny nose-like device to get water, and held both out to Eztli. The Jaguar warrior took the pill and put it in his mouth and, with the water, swallowed the medicine. His head, which was throbbing before, felt better.

"I should thank you." he said with a slight bow. The professor smiled slightly before leaving.

There was a strange rectangular thing in a corner near a wooden rectangular thing with shiny circles on it. Eztli approached the first strange rectangle, which lay on a metal device, and pressed on it. It gave in under his strength, but resisted. It was soft, but firm. Like a nice quality sleeping mat from his time. He decided to sit down on it and found it pleasant to sit on. Deciding this must be his sleeping mat, he bathed himself (with the aid of a strange hard nose-like device and weird circles at it's sides) and prepared for sleep.

At 3 AM, a loud noise awoke the warrior. A voice called for him to prepare for combat, so he found the clothes he was wearing when he arrived at this place and stepped outside his door.

Leon watched as all of the others began to open their doors, and come out into the hallway. It was only moments before the entire crew were standing, with tired and confused looks on their faces. Leon's head snapped to the right, where he could hear a door open, and then the clacking sounds of shoes on the laminate.

He watched the professor walk down the hallway. Her shoulder-length brown hair was up in a ponytail, and it was clear that she had gotten just as much sleep, if not less, than the crew. No makeup adorned her face, and a long lab coat covered what was most likely sleepwear beneath. She looked incredibly frazzled.

"Sorry for the early wake-up call. Typically, there's quite a bit more sleep permitted," she said, with a small awkward laugh. "I have urgent news. George Villiers, while you were all sleeping, seems to have taken one of the spare boats out of our hangar. I didn't get any sort of alarms on the process, due to a flaw in our security system there. I did, however, get data about where he set off to."

Leon looked at her, puzzled. He couldn't figure out how to work one of the machines! How could Mr. Mustache figure it out? He looked down the rooms. Indeed, he was missing. He turned his gaze back to the professor.

"He went home," she said, pausing for a moment. "He set the controls for August 23rd, 1628. The day of his death, which I pulled him from." The professor said the last part quietly. "Now, follow me, I'll take you all to the hangar. We're going to have to find him, and bring him back. His controls were inaccurate, so we're hoping that he managed to warp safely," she said with a sigh, beginning to walk back down the hallway.

Leon walked behind her, with the rest of the group. The hallway seemed to stretch on forever. He wondered if it truly was as long as it felt, or if he was simply so tired that even a few steps would be a long journey. The professor reached a large, secure-looking door. She pushed a large, red, button, and the door slid open. "This was meant to be locked..." she muttered, walking through. Leon was impressed that she was able to keep her composure so much.

When the door opened, it revealed a wide hallway, dotted with three doorways. The one located directly in front of them was labeled "2", but the professor turned left down the corridor, towards a door labeled "1". She reached into her lab coat, and pulled out a set of keys, twisting them into the door. With a little push by the professor, the door swung ajar.

What Leon saw, his eyes almost couldn't believe. It was a strange contraption for sure-- in the middle, was a metallic square object. Several turbines, facing vertically, surrounded it and were attached to it. There was a semi-circle door that was just about six inches off the ground, and about six feet tall. The entire metallic room in the center was no more than seven feet tall, actually. Leon had to guess the box in the center was a cabin of sorts, while the surrounding turbines were engines of sorts. However, he could hardly fathom a guess in the end.

The professor spun a cold, metal, rounded ship's wheel around, opening the door. It made a loud popping noise as she did so. The woman opened the door up, and held it. "Alright, everybody, prepare to board. Once inside, I will make an announcement from the exterior to you all. Your mission will be brief: Find Villiers, bring him back. If death is the only avenue, then so be it. We cannot have him share any information that he has learned while here. It's difficult to erase knowledge,"

Leon lifted his feet, and walked inside. It reminded him of, well, a spaceship from his time. Several padded chairs were aligned in three rows, enough to seat their entire crew, and then some. Leon took the first seat he sighted when he walked in, and sat in the chair. He could feel his body immediately relax. He had to stop himself from nodding off. Leon noticed that on the ground, a small bird's cage had been put in place to secure Clipper. Leon smiled at the idea of them putting in some extra thought for the bird's comfort.

James put his rope away as more and more people started to come out of their rooms. Then the professor came and said, "Sorry for the early wake-up call. Typically, there's quite a bit more sleep permitted," James thought, I'd love an explanation. He got his wish. The lady then continued,  "I have urgent news. George Villiers, while you were all sleeping, seems to have taken one of the spare boats out of our hangar. I didn't get any sort of alarms on the process, due to a flaw in our security system there. I did, however, get data about where he set off to." Everyone looked shocked by this. He must be insane, going back, just to die! James thought. By then, he was wide awake and ready for action.

The soldier and everyone else walked through the hallways while the professor muttered stuff about locked doors and security. Eventually, the group stopped at this odd vessel. It looks like a submarine. Are we on a water mission, and why is it pointing straight up? James thought. The professor said, "Prepare to board. Once inside, I will make an announcement from the exterior to you all. Your mission will be brief: Find Villiers, bring him back. If death is the only avenue, then so be it. We cannot have him share any information that he has learned while here. It's difficult to erase knowledge," Aye aye.

James was a bit hesitant to go in. What if this is just a test of common sense? What if I choose wro- GREEN! a louder voice in his mind spoke, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! DO NOT QUESTION ORDERS! It sounded like his commander. It basically was a voice that when he doubted orders, it gave him a slap to the back of the head and told him to get a move on. Y-yes sir. The voice spoke again, I DID NOT HEAR YOU! James looked a lot bolder now. Yes sir!

Leon had already gone in, James followed him in and looked around. There were many soft chairs in this strange room, all arranged in neat rows. The soldier took a seat in the front row, away from Leon, who looked like he was about ready to sleep for a decade. James spied a birdcage nearby, it was obviously for Clipper. They made a good choice to do that for Clipper. he thought.

Damien groggily listened as the professor explained the situation to them. Apparently that George Villers fellow had made a break for it, and now they had to get him back somehow. Typical, Damien thought, the guy seemed kind of wacked out, I guess.

Wearily, he followed the others where the professor led them, into a hangar of some sort, with a craft inside Damien never could have pictured in a million years. Eyes wide, he stared at the large box type mechanism. That was the time machine? He frowned. Movies made it look much cooler.

Cool or not, Damien slowly walked aboard the craft, taking a seat next to Leon. "This'll be interesting," He mumbled, half to himself. Mentally, he reminded himself to light up a smoke as soon as they landed; he assumed smoking would be slightly frowned upon aboard the time machine. Glancing at the floor, Damien spied a bird's cage, and rolled his eyes a little. Guess the bird can't just be strapped in like the rest of us, he thought, and snorted.

A few moments later Clipper soared aboard, heavily excited for the mission ahead. They would finally be out in the field! Surely Mr. Villers couldn't be too hard to find. Landing gently, the crow spied his personal bird cage, and cawed happily. "Oh, how thoughtful!" He chirped, hopping over and shoving himself into the small cage. Pleased, he ruffled his dark feathers and settled, making a content noise.

Villiers? The duke of Bu ... somewhere, I didn't think that he had it in him to do something like this. Garath thought to himself while listening to the professor explain the situation. It seems that their first mission, and Garaths first chance to properly asses his teammates, was going to be Villiers from the day of his own death, Garath had no idea why anyone would want to go to their own death day, but if that was where Villiers was then that is where they were going.

Garath paused only for a second to look at the space/time machine thing, It wasn't to0 special to him to see a space ship. However, once inside and seated Garath realized that this was going to be his first actual visit to earth, Granted that he was visiting past earth and that he was on a mission, but Garath still couldn't keep down his excitement on the prospect of seeing earth for himself. As it usually did when Garath was excited his leg started to twitch slightly, so slightly that Garath didn't notice his own leg twitching.

Upon hearing the professor's explanation about the situation, Sidia was both relieved and annoyed. Relieved because at least they weren't under attack, but annoyed because this was entirely preventable. What was he thinking? Didn't he realize he was going to die? She was also annoyed because she was tired.

Sidia stoped for a second and looked at the time machine. She had spent a fair amount of time in a space ship before, and this didn't seem too different. The interior looked similar as well, only it had more seating. She took a seat in the back row. Out of habit, she pulled her tail up to her lap and held it under her crossed arms. She realized she should probably do something about her appearance soon. She looked over at Garath and wondered how he was going to deal with the whole 'being an alien' thing. Actually, come to think of it, most of the group would look out of place, so they must have been supplied with something to help them blend in. Maybe all that would be explained. She felt and growing feeling of nervousness and anticipation.

"Aren't you gonna light one up?" Leon said to Damien, only being half facetious. "This is as inappropriate a place as any, and I don't see any no smoking signs..." he said, followed by a yawn sending his mouth agape. He stretched his arms over his head, and realized his hair was still up. Hmph, Leon said, taking his hair out, and running his fingers through it to try to get to its natural form. He missed his morning preening routine, but luckily it seemed like putting his hair up had prevented one side of his mane from getting flat.

Eztli entered the strange room. He was far too distracted with all the bells and whistles of the machine to notice everyone else was either tired like he was or in a similar state of wonder and awe. The professor mentioned the "Dukov Buckham" again and Eztli recalled the oddly dressed man who spoke of power in words. To turn his back on allies and abandon them in this quest was a cowardly move thought Eztli. The woman gave them their mission: find Villers. Return him dead or alive. Shame he didn't have time to grab a weapon.

The Aztec found a seat and sat down. His mind wandered a bit as he looked around the room. There were strange lights and sounds coming from different areas. It was all very confusing, so he decided to look at the people he would call his allies. Some weren't entirely dressed for battle, others looked to be half asleep. The one who struck him with the maquahuitl was running his hand through his hair, the strange speaking bird found a small shiny…something to crawl into, and the one named Sidia was…

Eztli rubbed his eyes and concentrated more on her. She had wings, a tail, and claws; features she didn't have before. She was also one of the few who looked like an actual fighter, and though he hadn't witnessed her engage in combat he felt she was battle ready. His eyes opened wide as realization came over him. He stood up and looked at Sidia more intently.

"Itzpapalotl." he whispered. He looked like a man who had just seen a sight beyond incredible. A man who witnessed something very few ever do. He spoke again, a bit louder this time as he slowly approached Sidia. He was stumbling; walking in a daze.
"Itzpapalotl…clawed butterfly."

Lucille hadn't known what to expect upon the fire drill but to be thrown into one of their 'ships' in the middle of the night in search of George Villiers whilst wearing nothing but a night gown. NOTHING BUT A NIGHT GOWN?! there was nothing she could do about that now, she was strapped into a seat behind James and Damien in the metal ship. However, she knew that were they were going she'd fit in better than any of the others.

It was impossible to imagine what the thought process of Villiers had been and how he was capable of taking one of these ships. She had a hunch that Villiers might be attempting to avoid death and live on in his 'blessed' life. However she also thought that it was probable that he hadn't even reached home. It seemed improbable, looking at all the dials and switches, that Villiers had managed a safe take-off. What an incredible feat.

Sidia watched as a few others boarded. It looked like most were on board now, so they'd probably leave soon. Most seemed tired. Hopefully the trip through time would wake them up, or be long enough for everyone to get a little more rest. How long would it take to time travel anywhere? Well, this should be interesting.

"Itzpapalotl…clawed butterfly." She looked over and saw Eztil walking toward her, seeming kind of... she wasn't sure how to describe it. Was he okay? Clawed butterfly? Was he talking about her?

"Umm, hello?" she said in a confused tone, "Is something wrong?"

James looked up and around. A lot of the travelers are boarding, not many left to get on. The soldier looks behind him to see.... Sidia...? James really had no clue what that was, horns, wings and a tail. He blinked a few times to make sure his eyes weren't blurry or anything. The soldier wasn't mistaken.

Am I seeing things? No... wait. I need sleep, yes, sleep. I must be crazy.

James found himself staring and tore his gaze away, obviously surprised, and confused as well. He looked at the control panel, all the levers, buttons, knobs and confusing odds and ends. How was that mad loon able to get back to his time without killing himself or getting lost?

"You…you are Itzpapalotl. My goddess. Ruler of the paradise we were born in." Eztli explained. He was still in a state of shock and awe. "Seeing you in flesh…"

Eztli stopped moving towards her, had a slight look of hesitation, then knelt down. He was out of arm's reach, as he dare not move closer to the physical manifestation of the fearsome skeletal warrior goddess that was Itzpapalotl.

((Was waiting for more to reply to, but I'm not letting this die.))

The soldier was still waiting for everyone to board the strange vessel. Why are some from our group not inside this... ship? They are taking their time.

"You…you are Itzpapalotl. My goddess. Ruler of the paradise we were born in." James heard a gruff voice speak. It was the aztec, Eztli. The aztec continued, "Seeing you in flesh…" James was obviously confused and turned his head towards Eztli. Then the aztec hesitated for a moment then knelt down to Sidia, who was also bewildered by this turn of events. You and me both, Sidia. What is the aztec thinking? James thought, grinning slightly and turning his head back.

((Gah! Sorry guys! End of senior year projects, and all of the writing has me burnt out! Read some Sci-Fi and got some muse though :) ))

The professor watched as everybody took their seats, and fastened themselves in. She stayed on the outside of the ship however, at a desk with a large hologram in front of her face. The hologram was split into several categories -- but none of which would have made very much sense to the crew, anyways. Numbers, dots, prompts... Enough to make the average man's head swirl. She put a small earpiece on, and began talking into it.

Leon could hear the professor's voice broadcast loudly through the ship. "Alright, everyone. Welcome aboard Boat A-41. Don't bother to remember that, it's not all that important... Your current mission is to head back, collect George Villiers, and return him here. Remember to try to keep him alive, but no matter what, he must be brought to this present day. I'm sending you a few meters away from his landing site, and you should arrive approximately three minutes before he touches down. Keep an eye out, as if the machine has a safe landing, it should be silent." Leon wriggled in his seat a little. The prospect of being sent back was incredible! He tried to avoid getting too tensed, and listened for the final part of the announcement. "The ship will be travelling through hyperspace. The journey will take about ten minutes to complete, but due to the nature of time-space travel, it will seem almost instant. Imagine anesthesia. But be aware, you will age ten minutes!" she said the last part a bit lightheardedly. Leon supposed it was a good thing that she was a lot less urgent and panicked than she was before. "Now, this ship will camouflage as something from the outside. Maybe it will be a tree. A statue. It truly does try to replicate its surroundings. The same way you came out, is the same way you came in. I have the machine rigged so that you simply need to hit a button next to the door. At that time, a five minute countdown will begin, in which you will need to seat yourselves, fasten yourselves, and the boat will send itself home."

Five minutes? Leon thought, looking at the button next to the door. What if we're in danger? Or someone gets left behind? He then remembered he was trying to avoid tensing up, and took a deep breath to try to relax.

"Since everyone is all set, I'll begin the countdown. I'll be setting Boat A-41 in 5... 4... 3... 2..."

Leon wondered if she had hit the button a little early. He couldn't seem to remember her saying the last number. He unfastened himself, and looked around the ship. The air felt strange to breathe, and he felt like he was being squashed by the air. However, after he lifted himself from the chair, and took a few breaths, everything felt normal again. Leon made his way towards the door first, and opened it up.

They were in the middle of a field. Leon could see some cows grazing in the distance, but he couldn't see the farm over the rolling green hills. Leon's icy blue eyes took it all in. Wow. This is... beautiful. The sky was bright blue, and was decorated with puffy cumulus clouds. The grass was healthy, green, and went up to about his ankles. He took a deep breath of the air, and couldn't believe how refreshing it felt on his lungs. So this is 17th century England? No matter Mr. Mustache wanted to go back. This is incredible...

((wooo fun time hopppppp))

Going back to the 17th Century was a fantastic prospect for Lucille, it had occurred to her that the time they were returning to may overlap with her own timeline, but Lucille was only a child during Villiers' time. When A-41 had landed, Leon had been the first to get up and leave but only because he was closer to the door than Lucille. She had practically run from the other side of A-41 to get out. There were so many questions. Where had they landed? Where was Villiers? How would the rest of her companions find the 17th century? Lucille was itching to see their surroundings. Leon opened the door and stepped outside, it took Lucille a while to adjust to the light and when she did she gasped. "Wow!" She exclaimed "I've never been to the countryside!" They were stood in a field and Lucille couldn't see any buildings anywhere. She wondered where Villiers' ship had landed? was it one of the other trees surrounding the field? She took in a large unwavering breath of the air "It doesn't smell like London at all." It didn't, the familiar scent of sewage was gone, thankfully. It smelt different, fresh. She imagined that must be what grass smelt like. She came up alongside Leon and smiled at him. "Do they have countryside like this in your time?"

"Sort of. In some parts of the world, I've seen pictures of places like this that still exist. In my time though, the closest thing to an open, grassy area would have to be a national park, or farmland like this. Except, we don't farm cattle outdoors like this, so it would be fields of wheat. Or corn." He said, unzipping his jacket fully. "There's a lot more smog, though. I don't know if you know what that is. It's smoke and crap that makes it so you can't see as well. I don't even live in the city, and I have never seen the sky this bright before," he said, taking another deep breath in through his nose. Besides the distant smell of a silo, the fields smelled so fresh...

Leon turned around, to look at A-41. It had become a tree, and the door was still ajar. Leon wondered how all of that ship could fit into such a small space. However, he decided not to dwell on it. It was probably a bunch on incomprehensible future stuff.

Garath stepped outside A-41 and turned to look at the ship, it had turned into a tree and not a tree like he had seem on his planet, briefly Garath wondered what would happen if someone tried to cut the tree down. Would it effect the ship? Then Garath noticed the surroundings, they were in a huge field of ... Green wavy things. Garath had never seen anything like this in fiery Magrold or in the swamp lands nearby which he had invaded while in the army. This stuff was so bright and ... green. He bent down and grabbed a bunch of the green things, it uprooted easily and didn't harm him. "Whats this?" he half mumbled to no one in particular.

((Sorry for taking so long >.< I kept meaning to reply, but I kept either being busy or distracted. plus I really wasn't sure how to reply so I was waiting for someone else to say something first, sorry.))

Sidia wasn't sure how to respond to the aztec. How does one respond to something like this? She tried to think of something, anything to say, when her thoughts were broken by the voice of the professor, "Alright, everyone. Welcome aboard Boat A-41." She felt relieved. She turned back to the aztec and quickly mentioned, "You should probably sit down, it sounds like we're leaving soon." She listened to the rest of the announcement, which ended with, "Since everyone is all set, I'll begin the countdown. I'll be setting Boat A-41 in 5... 4... 3... 2..."

It had only felt like a second had passed, but they apparently landed. She got up and left A-41, following a few of the others. She looked around, the place they had landed. It didn't look like anywhere she had ever been. It looked a little like some places she had passed over while flying to new destinations, but nowhere she had actually spent much time in. She suddenly remembered how obvious it was she was not human. She shrunk down the most noticeable differences, her wings, tail, and horns, as quickly as she could, zipped up the holes in the back of her outfit, and fussed with her hair to hide the little nubs her horns had been reduced to. She still didn't look human, but it was an improvement. Once that was out of the way she continued to look around, keeping an eye out for Villiers ship when it landed. This place sure looked nice though.

The professor had gone through a lot of information about their mission and the "time machine". Then she told everyone to fasten themselves in. Unless you'd love to meet your maker. James thought uncharacteristically ((big words. <3)) darkly as he buckled up for the ride. 3....2.....1.... Fwooooosh!

James felt as if he was being run over by a supply truck, or at least what it may feel like. The air was being squeezed out of his lungs, but as soon as it happened, the air returned. During the travel, the soldier's body was being pressed forward, then when the craft stopped, his head fell back into the seat and gave him a minor headache. James unstrapped himself and stood up, a bit wobbly and the air felt like it was crushing him. Soon, however, it stopped and he returned to normal. He followed the others out and looked upon the landscape. There were rolling green hills, the grazing cows, there also seemed to be a few horses, which James had a great fascination for. The air was clean and refreshing, like the air in Hawaii in his time, only not smelling of the sea.

So this was 17th century England? Wow.... it looks beautiful.

As Sidia (and the professor) instructed, the Aztec returned to his seat. Moments later, the building they were in lurched forward. He was unfamiliar with the experience of being inside of a moving object, and the sudden acceleration pulled the air from his body. When the…whatever they were in stopped moving, Eztli inhaled sharply. He unbuckled himself and followed the others outside.

The area was beautiful; green with rolling hills, large beasts grazing, and crisp air. Eztli scanned his surroundings for any potential ambush spots, but they appeared to be in an open area. The others were looking around to, and the Jaguar warrior noticed that Itzpapalotl (Sidia) didn't have the "terrifying winged goddess" look anymore. Eztli chalked it up to mysticism of some sort.

When Damien stepped out of the ship, he had to admit he was impressed. He hadn't felt anything in their jump through time, and now here they were out in 17th century English. he young rockstar looked about, taking in the viridian scenery, and sucked in a crisp clean breath. He almost coughed. This wasn't like the smoggy LA air he was used to. This was clean, fresh, pastoral.
"Damn," He cursed under his breath, nearly awestruck. He turned to examine the A-41 in its new tree disguise, and bobbed his head. This future technology is outta sight, he thought, licking his lips and turning against to rub his boots along the soft green grass.

Suddenly, there was a caw from within the ship, and Clipper launched out in a black blur. Quickly he took to the skies, spiraling about and flapping his broad wings, emitting a few series of caws in excitement. Finally he descended, though, landing on the grass gently. He pecked at the dirt beneath the lush greenery, beady eyes glimmering, "Oh, how exciting!" he twittered, "I never got to experience much of this loveliness when I was in training. It is so beautiful!" The red light on his collar blinked rapidly as the words practically tumbled out of him. With a happy purr-like noise, the bird flopped back into the grass, rolling around and clicking his beak.

((Villiers update lol!))

When he had climbed into the metal thing he had assumed that it would take him home as there were things that allowed you to input the date, he fiddled with the levers and moving parts until the display showed the date he wished to arrive at, the day after his death. He could, he hoped, avoid his death and continue living the high life in London. After inputting the date, Villiers twirled his moustache straight and continued to battle with the board of functions until he felt a learch and was thrust back into a seat which he held onto for dear life. The vehicle was spiraling and falling all over the place and the whole ordeal lasted 10 minutes until eventually, with a thud and a shudder the vehicle hit the ground, jarringly.
Villiers stood up on the now-roof of the vehicle that had turned upside down, few of the chairs remained attached to the vehicle and the rest were settling on the now-floor. Villiers could see the door he had gotten in by which was now off the floor and would be a climb to get to,even if it was only a small climb. Villiers dusted his clothes off, noting that his royal cape was trapped with his seat on the roof and dangled just out of reach, the king would not be best pleased with that but at least he would be safe in the knowledge that his George had survived an appointment with death. He smoothed his hair and twirled his moustache before clambering toward the door and up the side of the ship. On his first jump, Villiers managed to push the door open and with his second me managed to hold onto the frame and pull himself out. He tumbled over the side of the ship and landed in the edge of a copse that lead onto a field. His vehicle, as he turned to look at it, was disguised as a tree but it looked different to the rest. It was evident that he had landed in August like he had hoped and all the trees had dense, green foliage as they should, but Villiers' tree looked as if it belonged in winter with a lot of branches but no leaves. Villiers cursed it's difference, people were likely to examine it. Not that it mattered, he wasn't coming back here. He was on the eastern edge of the copse and could see to his left, a field that ended in another field, to his right more trees and in front of him was a small grassy hill down to a village.
On his way down the grassy hill, Villiers tripped on a rock and was sent rolling the rest of the way to the bottom with the thought that his appearance in the village was almost certain to paint pictures of himself as crazy, Villiers was now disheveled and covered in mud but wearing clothes of the Royal court. An alias would be necessary until he reached London again. Thomas Howard worked well as an alias in the past when Villiers had done career ending deeds. Thomas Howard walked to the edge of the village and picked up a newspaper that had been dropped on the ground. The date was correct at least, he didn't bother to check the headline ((which told of Villiers death but was actually, however, the death of some look alike peasant who had been mistaken for Villiers)). He entered the main square of the village and spied a man hiring horses. He made that way and engaged in conversation with the man who had a non-London accent. "How much for one of those horses, peasant?"  he looked around and held up a pound to indicate the price.
"Depends how far you're taking her, mister...?" Villiers recognised that the man had asked his name. "It's Thomas Howard,"  the man nodded and then brought around a horse, brown with a white star on her head "This is Elizabeth, named after the King's sister. Don't you think it's a fine name?" Villiers thought that it was not a fine name for a horse but he suspected Thomas Howard probably would. "Aye, now, write a letter that states how much I will have to pay you."  this had no purpose other that to make the peasant release the horses reigns and walk to his bench but while he did Villiers swung himself onto the horse and kicked it's side making it gallop out of the town on the opposite side to the side he arrived on. At this exit there was a sign stating 'London 20 miles'

Leon could hear a loud thud, coming from the east. His jolted his head to the right, and saw a dead looking tree, and a man taking off from it. "There he is!" Leon said, though using care not to tell, so that he would not be discovered. He could see a tiny version of him in the distance roll down a hill, towards the village. Leon looked back towards his group with a face of confusion. He doubted that was how royalty was supposed to get around.

Leon took off down the hill, not waiting for anyone else. Villiers was nearly out of sight, and he needed to keep track of him. He nearly tripped over his feet several times as he went down the incline. He could see Villiers conversing with a peasant, as he grew closer. Then, when Villiers was still hundreds of miles away, Leon watched him take off on the horse, far off into the distance.

At this point, Leon had reached the fence that ended the pasture. He hung his body over it, exhausted. What would they need to do to get a horse? None of them had any money! They would need to figure something out. Leon's mind started racing with potential ideas. Can you ride cows? No, no, you probably can't... Leon dismissed his thought, especially since he hardly knew how to ride a horse to begin with. Hopefully, with all of their heads put together, the group could find a way to get a horse.

James saw Villiers take off, likely on a horse, into the countryside. On foot, no one would be able to catch up. The group would need some help. "Obviously, we'll need a horse. We'd better start thinking, because it is not like one will just run right by us." he said, starting to think.

5 minutes later, nothing had happened and James couldn't think of anything. No one seemed to come forward either. Just then, a villager about 50 yards was seen chasing a gray horse parallel to the woods. Eventually, he gave up, turned around and uttered a few swears as he walked toward the village and the horse into the countryside. However, the horse would soon take a sharp turn, towards the group. It galloped faster and faster, obviously happy to be free. The horse just barely missed hitting James, who jumped out of the way barely in time. "I have no clue what to say to this. The only thing I can say is that we need to get that horse." he said. The horse started to slow down near a small stream. "The horse stopped, we have this one chance. What should we do?"

Leon watched the horse fly by, and kept his gaze locked on the equine. "Hang on, my aunt had one of these. We used to feed it carrots, but uh..." Leon looked down at the grass, and grabbed a handful. When the green blades rose from the ground, with the roots still intact, Leon shook the grass until all of the dirt was free.

"Stand back, and if this goes badly, then... Someone bring me to a doctor, and someone else run off after Villiers," Leon said, beginning to slowly walk towards they side of the horse, where it could see him. When he was just a few meters away, he stretch his hand out gently, displaying the grass to the horse.

"Hey, hey, hey..." Leon repeated quietly, watching the horses ears swing back like satellites to the sound of his voice. The horse, however, casually flicked its tail, and dipped its head in the stream. "Hey, I have something for you..." Leon said, getting down low and trying to seem small. The horse rolled its brown eyes towards Wayleon, and slowly lifted his head to look at him.

"Let's talk about a huge favor I have to ask of you, over some grass, alright?" Leon was standing close to the horse's flank at this point, with the grass held slightly to the right of the horse's face. The horse reached its head forward to accept the gift, with a small snort, and then munched on the green vegetation. Leon reached his other hand towards the animal's neck. He took a good look at the horse.

It didn't seem all that muscular, and its fur was dingy and dull. "Me and my friends.. or one of us... I don't know quite what's happening... We need to catch this guy. And I would really like it if you could help us," Leon said to the horse, as if it were human. The horse, after finishing its bite of grass, put its head back down to the dirt, sniffing at the ground, and uprooting grass. "Even if you can't understand me." He pet the horse's neck, feeling bits of dirt and dust rubbing on his hand. Leon had onyl ever seen show horses his entire life, and had never seen a horse so dirty. Was it healthy? Leon couldn't be quite sure.

It had no saddle, but the owner had been lazy enough to leave a cheap bridle with a small lead rope on it. Leon worked his hand to the bottom of the horse's jaw, and grabbed the lead. "Here, come with me real quick. Just a quick favor for us." He gave the lead a tiny tug, and the large beast began to walk to Leon's left. He started walking towards James and the rest of the group. The horse was surprisingly obedient -- Leon wondered if he had spooked at something silly. He knew that horses were scared of absolutely everything.

He arrived next to the group. "We have one horse, and more bodies than one horse can possibly carry. Someone's going to need to track down Villiers on this guy, and we can try to follow on foot. Unless someone has a better suggestion. Who has the most experience with horses here? He don't have a saddle or anything, so..."

James watched as Leon handled the horse surprisingly well. He was impressed, then came the question. "We have one horse, and more bodies than one horse can possibly carry. Someone's going to need to track down Villiers on this guy, and we can try to follow on foot. Unless someone has a better suggestion. Who has the most experience with horses here? He don't have a saddle or anything, so..." said Leon. James frowned, he had experience with animals, but not horses. Where he had lived, there were none for miles. James shook his head and said, "I'm sorry, but I have no experience with horses."

Leon presented the horse to the group, asking who had the most experience. Lucille had none, she had never needed to travel far enough to warrant the use of a horse. She shook her head "You look like you've had a fair bit of experience yourself, Leon, why don't you go after him? All we're doing by asking around is wasting time. I think you should go quickly..." she broke off. Making a statement like this was leaving her open to "who made you the leader?" accusations. She stepped back and looked to her left where Villiers was disappearing over the hill. No one else seemed to be making a move, simply hanging around like vegetables admiring the scenery.

--
The horse was unruly, Villiers had lost control of the beast a while ago and it had darted past a group of people standing in the field where he had landed. It was only after he'd passed that he looked back and realised that the people were those from that strange place with the professor and the 'hangars' the horse carried on relentlessly over the pasture, galloping as fast as was possible.
Villiers thought it odd that the beast was uncontrollable, in his time as the King's favourite he had gained the title "Master of the Horse" and had had experience with cavalry. As the horse moved into the next field he wondered how soon it would be before the group of strange people were upon him and he would become their prisoner. He hoped it wouldn't happen but knew better than to even dream, he was atop a crazy, fast moving horse and couldn't control it by kicking or pulling reins, it was all futile.

The horse neared the copse of trees on the edge of the second field and was about to crash into a large oak at the forefront when it stopped in a jerking movement with a loud "neigh!" Villiers was flung forwards off it's back, her turned in the air and hit the tree trunk upside down, sliding to the bottom and landing on his head quickly. He touched his cheek and found it slicked with blood. For the second time that day the world was swimming upside down. Villiers saw the horse come towards him and barely felt it's hooves beat over him before everything went black.

Damien listened to Leon's explanation as he brought the rather scraggly horse over. He shrugged, "Sorry dude, not a big horse fan, so you won't be gettin much help from me." he eyed the equine and stepped back a little, "Always kinda found them a little...weird looking." He sucked in a breath of the fresh pastoral air, and folded his arms.

Clipper, meanwhile, snapped to attention, the bird hopping onto his gray feet and letting out a caw. "Oh, Oh, I might have an idea!" He chirped, the red light on his collar flickering on and off frantically, "I may not be a horse, but I still have wings!" For emphasis, the crow launched himself upwards, doing a spiral in the air and landing gently back down on the grass, "Perhaps I could lead the hunt from the air? I could spot Mr. Villers, and then lead you right to him!" He clicked his beak, feathers ruffling in his excitement, "Brilliance and spying from the skies was my specialty back in my time period!"

Leon watched as looks of disapproval circled throughout the group. Everyone seemed to have some kind of opposition to horses. Lucille suggested that Leon should take the horse, but Wayleon was still kind of nervous. he hadn't ridden in years...

But then again, nobody was saying anything. He had almost been hoping for a reply from Eztli -- But he knew Ez was far too tall for the horse. Leon clamped his teeth together, not wanting to ride the horse. He wouldn't even have any idea as to how to find Villiers...

And then Clipper piped in. "Yes! Clipper! That is just what we need!" He said, pointing at the crow excitedly. The horse stomped with annoyance at Leon's sudden outburst, and let out a snort. "I suppose I'll go then. I haven't been on a horse without a saddle ever, and I have little experience, but uh..." he trailed off, beginning to put the lead rope behind the horse's neck, and tied it to the other end if its bridle. He ended up using three basic knots, and hoped the it would hold -- if his makeshift reins came undone, he may as well just get to the ship and go home.

"Alright, bud, let's get going..." Leon said, getting to the horses side. He puit his arms on its back, and started to swing his legs up onto it, like he was jumping a fence. The brown creature, however, was having none of it, and darted forward, causing Leon to fall to the ground. Leon's back thumped against the ground, and he couldn't help but let out a small "Oof!" from the unexpected movement. "Try again, I guess..." he said, slowly getting up, and ruffling the grass and dirt out of his red hair. Leon planted his amrs again, and swung.

He landed square on the horse's bony back, and its loose skin had him tilting a bit in his seat. It wasn't the most comfortable thing that he had ever sat on, but it would have to do for the time. Leon grabbed hold of the makeshift reins, and led the horse around in a tight circle, just to be sure that they worked. "Alright, Clipper. I'm gonna head off from where I saw Mustache go. Bring the game, and let's keep it going all straight and not mess anything up. Everyone else, try to follow. Find weapons. Something."

Leon gave the horse a kick, expecting it to take off at a slow pace. Instead of his expected result, however, the brown beast took off at a fast canter through the field, and barreled straight towards the town. Leon let out a yell of surprise as he dug his legs in to make sure he stayed on the creatures back. Leon looked forward with a look of panic as he notced the pasture fence getting closer and closer. Heart pounding, Leon just hung on as tight as he could to the horse's mane. It leaped over the wooden fence, and in no time, its feet were hitting the cobblestone of the town. He began to affix himself, and get used to the pace that he was travelling at. Feeling the wind whip through his hair, and watching the people jump out of the horse's way, Leon couldn't help but wish that he had a helmet...

Villiers took off on a strange large dog with a long face. Leon managed to get one, though this one looked like it hadn't eaten well in a long time. The others turned down offers and requests to sit atop it the way Villiers sat atop his large dog and, due to time being a pressing issue, Leon mounted the tall-dog and took off towards Villiers.

Whatever this creature was, it was fast. Much faster than the Aztec could run. But it also left prints in the lush grass and, no doubt, in mud and other terrain the animal ran through. Eztli ran to where Villiers was seen on the talldog and knelt down to investigate. He signaled to the others that there were prints and they could be followed. Once they got close enough, they could change their tactics from pursuit to ambush.

Clipper caws loudly, before taking off into the sky, "Come along, friends!" He cried as he shot off after Leon, a black blur. Damien grunted a little, before starting to jog after the very speedy horse. Stupid showoff bird, he couldn't help but think, still a bit bitter over the crow distracting him from hitting that target yesterday.

Within a few moments Clipper had accumulated quite a bit of momentum in the air, and soon was soaring above and ahead of Leon and the horse. Black wings beating, he fell back a bit, a few yards above boy and equine. Quickly he cawed down to him, assuring him he was setting to work. Then, he began to search, keen eyes scanning the area for any sign of the mustached man they were searching for. He flew forward a little, head twitching to and fro.

Suddenly, the crow's eyes caught sight of something. There, at the edge of the next field over, there appeared to be some scraggly looking trees. And..and near those trees, Clipper could spy...a person! He thought so, anyway, it was hard to tell with the horse that appeared to be towering over what he had spotted. Still though, he couldn't help but think he'd found his target. Drooping down in the sky, Clipper adjusted his flight so he was now flying neck and neck with Leon and the horse, "Wayleon!" He called, "I believe I may have spotted Villers! Please, follow me!" With that, he flew forward, heading for the dead looking trees he had spied.

"Alright!" Leon said, his horse's hooves pounding across the stone. At this point, he had begun to ignore the frightened passerbys as his horse quickly cantered through the street. I wonder if there's such a thing as cops here? Hope I don't get this stolen horse pulled over for riding too fast... Leon cracked a small smile, and began to tug to the left. The horse swung into its desired position, perhaps a bit too fast. Leon, however, could feel that he was getting better in such a short amount of time. Despite the sensation of him about it fall, he was still sitting deep into the horse's back.

In a matter of minutes, Leon's horse's pounding hoofbeats left the gravel, and reached the field. Leon pulled back on the reins a little, knowing he was closing it. "Hoooold it," Leon said quietly to his horse, as they got near a fence. He wasn't looking to take a face plant, as it looked Villiers had.The horse did a small leap over the jump, which Leon again compensated for by gripping the mane a bit too tight. The horse went down to a slow trot, and then eventually Leon was walking it towards Villiers. Leon looked into the distance, and the horse that Villiers had appeared to be casually grazing at this point.

Leon flung himself into a dismount, seeing that Villiers was in bad condition. He grabbed for his hand, and couldn't find a pulse. While Leon's heart sank at first, he realized that he had no practice with checking pulses anyways. He frantically put his hands about on the royal man's neck, try to get any sort of pulse. He's still warm, though. He must not be dead. He just can't be. We should be bringing him back alive...

James followed Clipper, Leon, Eztli and the others as they went on the hunt for the aristocrat in his time period. He didn't speak up because the other knew what they were doing. Eventually, Clipper spoke up to tell the group that he may've seen Villiers. Everyone followed him and there he was. It looked like Villiers was thrown of his horse, which he probably was. Then Leon practically tackled the guy checking for a pulse, Leon looked concerned. "Allow me to try." said James, who didn't wait for an answer. He went over to Villiers and squeezed Mr. Mustache's wrist lightly. James had no idea what to do to be honest, so he was just hoping he did the right thing. Villiers seemed to have a pulse and was still warm, good signs. "I'm no doctor, but I think he has a pulse. Not quite sure. Could someone more experienced check to be sure?" James asked, backing away.

Garath looked away from the green in his hand to see the Villiers fellow moving away atop some sort of large animal. Garath didn't have to wonder what this animal was however because Leon had found another one and most of the others called it a horse. The "Horse" made Garath nervous, it was new to him and most animals on his planet were quite hostile, so Garath dropped the green things onto to ground and stood as far away from the horse as possible while still being part of the group.

The plan to have the bird scout from the air and Leon follow on the horse worked rather well and apparently they had found Villiers so Garath set out to follow them, however he stopped before he walked into that small human village and decided to take a route around the village to avoid being seen. Once he rejoined the others, with a safe distance between him and the horse, he watched as James checked weather Villiers was alive. "Whatever his state I think we should take him back to the ship and out from the open, it's probably safer there." Garath said while looking around for any dangers.

Sidia watched as the others took action, feeling rather useless. If her wings were strong enough, she could have flown over and searched like Clipper, but unlike Clipper she could have taken action and tried to capture Villiers rather then just scouting. That would have made things rather easy, but it wasn't possible at the moment. She had no experience with Earth's animals, so she couldn't ride the horse, and even if she could she would have had to ride through the small village nearby, which she also couldn't do.

When the others found Villiers, she ran over to the spot where they found him, running around the village, causing her to arrive there later then everyone else. When she got there, she found out that Villiers was in bad shape, and the others were checking to see just how bad a shape he was in. She spoke up, "If you need any help, I have some medical experience. Not much, but..."

Lucille ran, following the others through the village to where the Duke had been spotted. She didn't really care that she was wearing a nightgown, I'm sure the people in the village had seen crazier sights only that day. When she reached the spot on the edge of more trees where the others were crowded around, she joined the wide circle and her mouth gaped. Villiers was practically upside down against a tree, there was a patch of red in a halo around his head and if he was breathing at all, Lucille couldn't tell. James said he had detected a faint pulse but he wasn't sure and Sidia had offered medical experience but Lucille didn't think it would help poor Villiers much. "No," she began, talking in Sidia's direction "I don't think any amount of medical experience can help him."

Eztli arrived in time to hear the group speaking as they stood near Villiers. He was in bad shape to put it simply. Not even the Healers of his people would be able to help. But this man was, essentially, a traitor. He abandoned the group for his own goals; a despicable act in the eyes of the Jaguar Warrior.

Eztli picked up a bit of wood, likely firewood, and patted his upward-facing palm with it a few times. It was sturdy and would serve his intended purpose well.
"If we can't heal, then we can help." he spoke, approaching Villiers. "Put him out of pain." he added, unsure if the idea of a mercy kill was familiar to these people.

"So basically, a mercy killing." James said. He was uncertain of what to say about this. Villiers could possibly live, but if they tried to take him to the ship, it would be long and painful, instead of it just ending now. "I'm not so sure about what to do, Villiers could possibly be saved, but if we can't get in back in time, his death could be long and drawn out." James said. He kept thinking over the matter, still unsure about what to do.

((c'mon guys))

After James had spoken, no one did anything for almost a minute. Villiers lay there, just breathing in a very very shallow way. Subconsciously each intake of breath rattled and grew thinner. Lucille didn't look at him but stared at the grass. There was an almost tangible awkward air. And then the breathing stopped. Lucille looked up to see his eyes grow glassy very quickly, they were still open. She got onto her knees and pushed his eyelids down and then stood up and back. "There's no need for us to do anything now. Are we taking his body back?"

((Forgot about this, so sorry))

James watched as Villiers slowly died. Lucille knelt down to close his eyes as the young man took off his hat and bowed his head. Everyone was silent, the only sound coming from the rustling leaves. Lucille stood back up and asked if they should take the body back. James shrugged, "Would it mess with the time line or something? I dunno, but I think if we can't take the body back, we should at least give him a proper burial." James said, not moving his head.
