So I'm back in work and I already dislike it, ngl. Everything's different now but instead of just feeling different, it feels uncanny. Like, I'll probably try and leave in January. It's not even just the changes made due to the 'rona. People are still repeating the same mistakes that were annoying in a pre-covid society and that are dangerous in a society that's still afflicted with covid.

So, yeah. Might try and leave in January.

Microphones and external hard drives aren't all that expensive. I happen to have both myself.

Yee, I was just going to get them at the end so that I'd have more time to research everything and figure out what I wanted to do with the channel.

Completed The Last of Us 2 today and although the gameplay was fun, there's a lot of poor writing. It's like "Remember that guard you killed a few hours ago? SHE WAS A PERSON" and, like... you kill them in a cutscene in self-defence? I also saw something on Reddit about there being references to the Israeli/Palestine conflict in the game too?

I dunno. The gameplay is great, the writing is poor, the story is messy, and it just feels like they relied too heavily on trying to make me feel bad for things that either happened in cutscenes or for things that I don't feel bad about.

Sat here wanting do start a YouTube channel for yonks and I'm at the point where all I really need is a microphone, an external hard drive, and mainly a theme for my channel. It's difficult, man.

So, I sat down and played the game again to jog my memory and the game's honestly okay. The Pokemon have grown on me and although the game didn't live up to my expectations, I've come to appreciate what it is.

It just feels like the game could have been better for a Nintendo Switch game.

It just feels like I've done a stupid amount of painting. Mostly Warhammer Underworlds but I've painted up some Reaper Minis. Played a lot of Resident Evil too. Mostly Revelations 1 & 2 and then the remake of Resident Evil 2.

I really enjoyed the Revelations games, they feel nice and creepy. There was something off about the second one though. It might be the enemies? They were more The Evil Within than Resident Evil.

I finished painting up this mini with a bad sculpt today. The last miniature I worked on was this really nice, clean, vampire sculpt that stank of 80s horror and painting it was honestly a breath of fresh air. This miniature just feels sorta off. The dog it came with was a really nice sculpt too.

It still feels satisfying to finish up a mini though.

Things aren't too bad up here but we're all going to be uncertain for some time. I'm unable to  work at the moment but my mental health has flourished and I'm able to spend time with my family again.

My local area seems pretty good? We're all just staying indoors unless it's for essentials. Hopefully things stay like this.

I've been keeping myself busy. Mostly painting but I'm getting back into gaming. I'm just trying to stay hopeful and that's all I can do.

Hopefully everyone here will be okay.

Definitely picking the game up! Dunno who to preorder it with though and time's running out! I'm honestly looking forward to everything at this point. Hopefully our boi Brewster will make a comeback so we can get those coffees in though. Will probably keep tradition and call my town "Fuzzy" like in New Leaf and Wild Worlds.

 Frog chair tho.

Had to bite the bullet and buy new Joycons for my Switch today. The amount of drift I'm getting with my left Joycon is honestly criminal. Can't wait to actually enjoy playing the Switch again, though. Especially with New Horizons coming up.

So, my Instagram is just pictures of the miniatures I've painted at this point but I've finally gotten to 100 followers and my most liked picture just hit 50. It's not much but it's nice that people are keeping tabs on me to see the things I'm painting.

It has only really been a themed blog/page since, like, October and I've only been using a light box since January. The page is mostly there so that I can see how far I've come since I started, really. It's motivating. It's nice to be able to set myself challenges and have something to show for it without having to handle the miniature.

 It's "chrissince94" if anyone fancies a browse?

Not only did I find the two new Warbands before Monday but the one that I ordered to arrive on Monday came today too. I'm loving these Wurmspat but these Mantrappers are just straight-up naughty. They're such expert hunters that the opponent automatically becomes their prey.

The downside is that I had to call in sick because of this bug I've got and I haven't had the energy to really enjoy them besides a quick look at the sprues to see their sculpts. Nothing I'm eating is settling in my stomach and then I'm stuck trying to not throw up until I slip up and need to.

I've almost finished painting up my Reavers for Underworlds. It's just nice to be chipping away at my backlog after not really getting anything done throughout January. Dunno how they'll perform on the table since only one of them can take a hit despite them all being psychotic marauders who dedicate their lives to fighting?

The painting competition that I entered was a massive disappointment.

Second and third place went to guys who brought their mates in to vote for them. Both models were completely outdone by about half of the entries and the third model doesn't even look finished. I had a feeling that it would come down to who's part of the biggest clique but I'm annoyed that it actually came down to that.

So many of us were robbed of an actual competition and I'm genuinely annoyed. I expected a painting competition and it turned out to be a popularity contest.

So I've entered this painting competition but I don't know what the prize is or what I'm up against. It's annoying because I'm doubting myself even though I'd say I'm good at what I do. I guess I'm just nervous because it's the first painting competition I've ever entered in. It was one of my New Year resolutions, though, so I'm glad to actually do it.

Finished another Black Library book the other night and there's something about the writing/writers that bothers me. They're borderline obnoxious with the plot armour and it's really twisting my nips because it takes me out of it.
