Turns out I had to change my english Lit from my home school to elsewhere, so I had zero lessons at all today. That and they're tightening up on "non-uniform" for sixth form. No jeans and t-shirts, lets put it that way. Darn school becoming an academy is partially to blame for that.

I was told that my dad has Type 2 Diabetes. He's at risk with a blood sugar of 128 and 600 triglycerides in his blood. When he should have only 150. He's at risk of a heart attack. My dad's condition worries me. But the most painful part is that he brought it upon himself.

I know a bit about Diabetes, both types 1 and 2. Type 2 is kinda brought upon yourself. Type 1 is not something you can control, it just happens, contrary to popular belief. Grandparents have 2 and my brother has 1. By no means are they alone man. Good luck to your dad.

If you get writer's block while writing one story and then you think of an idea for another book then don't indulge yourself it's v bad for progress. Why am I writing this? I should be writing my original idea not my new one stop.
What I do is I leave a gap and write a section further on in the story that I already have ideas for. Then connect them up. Just try not to make it blatantly obvious it's filler in the middle.

spent yesterday in hospital after falling off my tiny motorbike and lying in a ditch for two hours due to the ambulance strike. a nice (and very posh) man sat with me and kept the rain off me with an umbrella.

You know what's really sad? I have a Traveler in my Tomodachi Life game and she's been stuck on the docks for two months now. What's worse is I have no friends with the game and I was at TWO airports four times last month and got no tags. Also been to three different Gamestops with my 3DS with Street Pass on and still no travelers. I use Migraleve. They work really well but they can make you quite sleepy and dopey. There's two tablets in the packet, one to take when you first start getting a migraine (so like as soon as you get your warning symptoms like auras/pain/etc) and then another if it's still there. I rarely need to take the second tablet now.
The left bud in my earphones is now broken and simply doesn't work any more. It's really annoying considering how often I use them :'( I don't want to buy Poundland earphones because they'll probably explode and send pieces of shrapnel flying towards my brain. I don't want to buy another set of Skullcandies because there are better ones on the market. Such fun.

These are my choices for this year i guess?? if i don't get in anywhere i'm just going to finish my degree here and then take a year out and go travelling or something. afterwards i can't get a decent job then i'm going to do a pgde in primary teaching or a postgrad of some sort.
i'm crying a couple times a week and school is awful because the teachers are trying to scare success into us but all it's doing for me is scaring genuine physical repulsion into me and i feel less like i'm being viewed as learning and more like i'm being viewed as stupid and i don't feel like i can talk to anyone about it because if i feel the same way again (and i will) then they'll start viewing me as whiny and dumb. i hate the school system. i hate my school. i hate this.
They always seem to put ridiculous amounts of pressure on the importance of success at GCSE, but tbh, unless you're looking to get into like an amazing private college or whatever you generally only need 5+ C's to go onto anywhere, and after you get whatever qualifications you go on to do your GCSE's aren't *that* important.
They'll go on about how you're shaping your future and all that bs, but that's aimed at the people on a C/D borderline really, because the difference between C and D is massive, but you seem like the kind of person who'd be getting at least the 5 C's you generally needed innately, so I'm sure you'll be fine ^^
In the end, it turns out to be more about league tables and that's where some of the pressure comes from.
As a qualified teacher, I know first hand that children aren't people to be moulded into the people of the future, they're just names and numbers on a spreadsheet. And this especially true at post-16: The more bums on seats you have, the more funding you get. In secondary schools, the more that pass the exams the more cash you can get your hands on. The teachers know it, the heads know it. It's been seven years since I left school and I STILL haven't needed to use Pythagoras or trig or any of that cack. GCSE maths especially is the biggest waste of time I've ever encountered.

If they lose everyone acts "surprised" and complain about it for two weeks. It's sickening and it gets to the point where I want to smack the rabid fans until they turn black and blue.
