Pokemon On The SNES

The name master:
I searched on Google and found the Super Gameboy!

What if Pokémon was made on the SNES instead of the Gameboy? That would make more sense! Bigger cartridge, better graphics etc. The SNES was still around when the Gameboy came out, wasn't it? Why not use that instead?

Del:
The big reasons the Gameboy was used instead of the SNES include the fact it was portable, so you could play on the go wherever you are, simulating actual insect collecting (which Pokémon was inspired by), and the ability to link the consoles together to trade and battle, which as far as I'm aware the SNES was completely unable to do.

The Hooded Trainer:
Incidentally, thats the same reason main games have never been on n64, gamecube, wii or wii u and its taken till the switch for them to finally be brought to a home console of sorts.

Why can't we just have a Pokémon game where you don't need to trade to complete the pokedex?

That Girl in the 'Roo Suit:
If you have a game boy converter you can play the originals on the SNES. At least, this is what I do
