I remember a scene from one of the Hoenn episodes.

Corphish wanders off by himself and finds a few mushrooms on the ground. Before he is able to eat one, Pikachu stops him. Pikachu then explains (by miming) that if he were to eat them, he would die.

Corphish had a tendency to steal Torchic's food from time to time. I'm wondering if the episode was at some point after Torchic evolved. That would certainly explain why Corphish went looking for food elsewhare.

I haven't watched any of the Hoenn episodes for a while, so I can't really remember many of them.

It might be, "A Shroomish Skirmish" from late Hoenn, which is the ep Torchic evolved into Combusken.

Funny you should say that, because I had a feeling that Shroomish appeared in the episode, but in fact, Nuzleaf appears instead!
