This isn't official or anything so don't take it as that
Basically, we all know IRC is inactive etc. Stay around for maybe 20 minutes and judge instead of instantly. Because then more people come in, think its inactive, then leave instantly as a result.
One more thing: feel free to alert me if I'm on. If I'm AFK then I won't respond for a few minutes. If not, then I will respond within seconds.
Hopefully this can solve the minor issue of inactive IRC. One step at a time people!

In 2010 it was text, and that is what I prefer.
IRC will, as far as I know, never change from text.
I am asking this because I went on IRC in this year, and when I posted my message in text, there were no replies and it was ignored. So it must have been audio and actual chatting, without text.
IRC is like multiplayer notepad, it's all text.
I used to idle a little bit but neglected opening my client every day, I'll set it to start up automatically when I turn on my PC.
Oh nonononononononnonono IRC was full of drunks when I got there. Never going back to that place again... they harassed me on IRC. I was called stupid as well as many other names. And you what they did?! THEY CALLED ME FAT. :-/

Are you definitely talking about
our IRC? IRC just stands for "internet chat relay" and it's a feature a lot of websites have - if you signed onto ours, the one linked at the top of the site, and people said that to you then this is a very serious issue and we need to tackle it! But if you had that experience on another site then I'd say don't let that put you off all IRC channels, I'd be very shocked if anyone here would say anything like that to you ^^
Just chiming in to say no one was drunk and good conversation was had yesterday (even though I got ranty, I was excited that there were people in chat!)

Are you really on IRC? You seem quiet. Is it because there simply aren't enough chatters? O.
IRC's activity is normally directly reflective of who's in the chat and how many people are there lol.
If there are like 3 people in the chat, anyone who joins is likely to quit immediately. If we have 10 there is normally a conversation going on somewhere, and the more there are the more active it gets.
