I caught a Honedge in the wild at lvl 42, but my friend refuses to believe me. Saying that in the wild Honedge can only be caught at lvl 25. That's all fine and dandy but I never trained my Honedge since I caught him, he just went straight to my box, he was never on my team either.
So, to get my friend off my butt about it, I'm here to ask everyone for their knowledge. What level in the wild can you catch a Honedge? And if you have caught one, what level was it before you trained it?
Honedge are only available on Route 6 at very low levels (mine was caught at level 11), from what I can tell.
I caught the Honedge late in the game, I didn't catch it at the beginning at all. I don't think I got it in a trade either, cause I remember running into it in the wild. Then thinking how much my friend likes Honedge, so was going to tease him that I got one. I used a quick ball so I didn't actually battle it, cause my pokemon were at least in their 60s or 70s around then. Is it possible that later on after you become Champion or after you catch the legendary that the wild pokemon levels go up?
You can check the OT, catch location, and level it was caught on the status screen.
Hmmm....that would've been a good idea if I hadn't traded it with a friend v_v
Maybe my other friend is right and I got it from a trade or something. Though I know I ran into one and caught it >.<
Perhaps I caught one then traded it in wonder trade? I was doing a lot of wonder trade then, so I might've done that and received another one through wonder trade of a higher level. So complicated
Most Honedge's would have evolved before Level 42. So there's a possibility this is wild. It would explain why it isn't evolved.
I'd say daycare's a better explanation.

:o
:(
Okay, so I'm an idiot, I think I did shove it in the daycare after I got it.
That'd make a lot of sense, given the day care is right next to where you catch honedges xD
Easy way of checking: the day care learns every new move, so are it's moves:
Iron defence
Night Slash
Power Trick
Iron Head
:yeswink:
Yes, it was those same attacks Robin. I'm sorry guys for being a goof, thanks for your replies. My friend is now very happy he was correct :P
