"Fusion successful." A metallic voice spoke. Inside was a humanlike figure, but it wasn't completely human. It had pokemon features too. "Another successful DNA splicing." said a scientist. This person, along with many others have worked in this lab in the forest. It appeared ask a simple shack, but the secret lab was underneath it, only known to those who work there. The scientists have been testing if you can splice pokemon DNA with human DNA to create a pokemon human hybrid, or pokehuman for short.
Another person walks over, he's the overseer of the project. Professor Del was what everyone called him, no one knew his full name. Professor Del looked this new figure over and says, "Great work, but there's a defect, like the rest." The other scientist nods, "Yes sir, but we haven't perfected the process yet. Like you said, they all have defects. Plus there's the mark..." He was referring to a small x mark on all of the subjects, some on the arms, some on the legs and some on the ears. Professor Del spoke, "This is not going well, the project is taking too much money and time. People think i'm crazy." The scientist nods, but Del continued, "That's why i've decided to destroy the lab. Time to activate plan B" A few overhear this and panic. "B-but sir! We'll all die!" one says. Del is calm, "No, you will." he says, walking over to a control panel and pressing a button. "30 seconds to self destruction." says a metallic voice. The lab flies into a frenzy as Del walks upstairs and out of the shack, locking the door. "Now to alert the media...." says Del, with a devilish grin. 3....2....1.... Boom. The lab explodes, but Del is long gone. Everyone inside is dead, but... wait! A figure come out of the wreckage, obviously injured. It seems to be the only survivor, the figure stumbles out and into the woods. Other figures come out, they all know what happened, and all know Del's plan, his plan to erase his past and be a hero. They are all pokehumans. One by one, they scatter, injured into the woods, hoping to find help before they die.
Plot: A rouge professor from a pokemorph research project has made a scheme to make himself a hero. In the past, his research has endangered many, and is hunted for a reward. Only the pokemorphs know what happened, the other scientists were killed off in the explosion. You will be found by a normal human in the woods. That human will be a great help in your quest to find Professor Del. Your task... find the professor and discover the truth. The people in the city know about the explosion, but they think it was the pokemorphs. Luckily, there was another defect in the genetic code, you can go from your normal, or pokemon form, to your full pokemon form and use your pokemon moves in that form, but of course this take practice and at first, you can do this for more than a few minutes at the time. Still, this ability will help you on your journey to find the professor, and get the truth out.

FAQ
How many characters will you control?
You will control a pair, a pokemorph and a full human.
What does the full pokemon thing mean?
It means your pokemorph can go into their full respective pokemon. For example, if there was a quagsire pokemorph, that quagsire pokemorph could become a full quagsire, and change back into pokemorph form.

Quoteoutrageous like charizard
Would a Skarmory be okay? I know it's rather powerful but idk
Either way, save me a space. I'll do a form after post 16.
Save me a spot for this as well please.
Would a Deino be okay? I'd say Zweilous because it's stronger but not as bad as Hydreigon, but I'm not sure how the whole two-heads thing would work for this, it would probably be horrifying.
Chloe, a skarmory may be ok. I'd like to see your form first and see what your character would look like.
dragoncat, deino seems fine.
Glad to see people interested! I've also added a few more things to the form to better explain what i'm trying to do. I'll change the color so you can spot it.
...how is charizard outrageous? Or are they supposed to look mostly human with only some features (next point. Charizard isn't actually all that tall. I think it's actually one of the shorter starters actually...)... Either way, i'm planning on joining this. I just want to know why you consider Charizard to be outrageous
I think it could just be like, no starters or final stages because if they were experimenting, they would use like smaller or more common Pokemon rather than the ones that you can't find in the wild
Yeah. Also, a flaming tail isn't exactly subtle. Even my pokemon is a bit of a stretch. I will allow all eeveelutions but umbreon. Why not umbreon? You'll find out in a bit.

you receive a message to meet at a certain address, which is in a shady corner of town. Everyone goes to the same place.
Can you elaborate a little on the message. Would it be like a note?
Sorry for all the questions but busy writing my starter post.
A note..... a note.... yes. That makes a lot of sense. Let's go with that.
I'm trying to think of a design for my character, but I'm having a little trouble figuring out what features to incorporate into the design. What kind of features do the pokemorphs show? Like, would they have tails? What about claws or fangs? If the pokemon has wings, would they keep them? What if the pokemon was pretty humanoid already, would they keep more of their pokemon features?
Hope this is okay!
Pokemorph:
Name: Sadie Silver (prefers to be called Silver)
Pokemon Species: Skarmory
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Moveset: Fly, Spikes, Whirlwind, Sand Attack
Appearance: Silver has ash blonde hair and an angular face. She is lean -but not athletic- and is sometimes said to be 'bird-like' (in the face) as she has keen green eyes and a thin kind of pointy nose. Her splicing with a Skarmory gave her a pair of big metal wings and metal claws for feet. She also has Skarmory's neck/breast plate. (just to clarify, she does have arms, but wings as well) Her X skin tag is at the centre of the breast plate. Defect described in Other. EDIT: - when she folds her wings to her back, they are hard to see as they merge into her skin... This okay?
Also, to cover up her breast plate she wears turtle necked clothing usually in red, grey or black colours and a skirt and tights that match. ((during the RP at some point, someone -probs someone at this creepy address- is gonna have to give the kid some boots that aren't harsh on her claws))
Personality: Silver is anything but shy, she's just reserved and determined. She won't say too much - she's just thinking. She's also very observant. She is more of a mindful person, quick witted and slow to anger. She would rather not use force in a battle/fight but works defensively, simply doing only what needs to be done. She's not interested in relations all that much, she befriends who she needs to but won't take it further than it needs to go.
Strong points: As aforementioned, she is observant and calm (if not cold) ergo she keeps a clear head in problematic situations and can deal with them accordingly rather than panicking. Her wings provide good defence as most punches etc are more likely to harm the person who threw them.
Weakness: Especially weak to Fire and Ice types (4x) - will explain why in 'Other.' Sometimes comes across as unfriendly, she's not very good at making allies.
Other: She is extra weak to Fire and Ice types because her blood has become infused with steel, extreme heat or coldness affects her more than it does others. If it's hot then touching her might give you a burn and when it's cold touching her is just not nice!
Human Form:
Name: Dag Kovac
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Appearance: Dag has black hair which is long enough for some of it to be tied in a short ponytail. He has a wide, flat-ish nose and almond shaped eyes. He's taller than Silver, getting on for 6ft. He wears a t-shirt bearing an electricity motif and jeans with red trainers (so unimaginative with the clothing, ugh) He has large muscles.
Personality: Modest and trustworthy, Dag is a friendly guy who'd protect his companions in an argument. When he is angered he gets pretty physical but it doesn't happen often. Dag is a happy sort of person of Scandanavian (it's a thing in the Pokemon world now, okay?) origin. He doesn't have the biggest brain in the world but what he lacks in mind he makes up for in loving spirit and the way he seems to know how people 'tick.' - in very few words, he is a gentle giant.
Starter Post:
Silver stood up shakily on one claw and then stretched the other out beneath her. It had taken most of the energy that she had left to lift herself out of the rubble. It would have been worse if the morphing hadn't allowed her to keep her human arms. She counted that blessing. Once she stood up, she looked around, gazing over the trees into the air. This was a good idea, if there was a town near by then it's lights would create a glare into dark sky. She stumbled eagerly towards the glare that she spotted to the south. She needed to get there as soon as possible to avoid passing out but her claws didn't work well on this surface and she had a bad cut on her right thigh. This wouldn't work out...unless she hopped. No. Hopping would take too much energy. She had to compromise, which would get her further. Flying. She took a short leap and spread her wings. Neither of them, luckily, had gotten damaged due to their steely exterior. Hoping there was a good wind so that she could glide. No such luck. She flew as far as she dared towards the glare of the civilisation after only a short time she thought it wise to get to the ground so that when she did pass out, and she would - she was losing blood - she wouldn't be falling far to the ground. She landed in the forest and began to take urgent hops but around her everything was fading fast. She lay down at a tree stump and waited for the dark.
Dag was investigating the humongous 'boom' that he'd heard earlier when he saw her. The Skarmory girl. She was blacked out against a tree stump, she looked like she might be in a bad way. He wasn't exactly surprised to be seeing such a creature in this neck of the woods, he was near the research lab after all. It was strange to see one escaped though. And injured. The 'boom' he presumed, must have been from the lab. But why? He yearned to go and investigate the lab but the Skarmory girl needed him. It took a lot for his soft nature to win out over his curiosity on this occasion. But it did. He picked the girl up in his arms but soon decided that wasn't going to work. Her wings got in the way and he couldn't maintain his strength under the weight of her steel-ness. He dragged her backwards from the woods, her claws scraped against the ground and got snagged on things several times. It was rather inconvenient but he spent every moment reminding himself that she needed him. He took her into his house on the edge of city and woods and lay her down on his sofa, not sure how to place her wings. He cleaned a cut on her thigh and drove a bandage around the area. She had various smaller cuts and bruises but this was by far the largest. He didn't know what else to do after that so he simply lay out a glass of water and propped a pillow under her head. Then he sat down on an adjacent chair and waited for her to wake up.
Open your eyes. She did as her brain told her and was welcomed by the sight of a light fitting and a ceiling. Huh? She stretched her arms and legs out. Her right thigh had a bandage on and now there was a face looming above her. "Aahhh!" she exclaimed. He moved back a little. She scrambled into an upright position and stretched her wings. "Who are you?" Silver said, addressing the more immediate problem than her having sat up too fast. "Drink some water." He held a glass out to her. She took the glass and a sip. "Who are you?" She said again. Persistence.
"My name is Dag. You were in the woods, I brought you here and tended to your wounds." Why would he do that?
"Why would you do that?"
"You needed help." He stretched out a hand. Silver got up by herself.
"The name is Sadie... but call me Silver." She began again.
"Then this is for you." He held out a note with 'Silver' written across the top, followed by an address.
"You coming?" Silver asked, she didn't mind either way but Dag might have wanted to stick with her and he'd seen the note so why not?
"Someone has to show you the way, don't they?" Thank goodness he wasn't acting like the pair of them were big pals already. They set of to the address, Dag in the lead. She tried to minimise time spent with her claws on the ground by flapping her wings a little with each hop. They arrived at the address and stood in the alley, waiting to be instructed. There was an unspoken agreement that neither of them wanted to enter the building, this was evidently the bad part of town.
^Your form looks good, just one thing. How will you hide your wings around normal people who think you're a criminal? I have a couple of ideas, but they may not be plausible.

Claw and Fangs are mostly easy to hide, so that's ok. Tails can be concealed too so that's fine. Wings.... that's a bit tough. If you use wings, you may have to be a lot more careful. If the pokemon was humanoid, they'd keep many humanoid features. Obviously, you can do on of the hitmons, but making a decent design incorporating pokemon and actual human parts will be hard. Just type up a description and put it with your form here or pm it to me. I'll offer suggestions. You can even look up your desired pokemon pokemorph and look at online pictures to draw inspiration.
My form will come soon.
Would a Gengar be alright? Also is it our humans to our pokemorphs, or something else?
Gengar may be alright. I'll make my final judgement when your form is posted. It's your human to your pokemorph. And Chloe's characters seem good, accepted. That's actually what I was thinking of doing if I had a winged character. Now.... here's my form.
Pokemorph form:
Name: Storm
Species: Umbreon
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Moves: Confuse Ray, Moonlight, Heal Bell, Dark Pulse
Appearance: Storm is tall and relatively thin, having spent most of his life on the move. His facial features are rounded like the eeveelution line. His eyes are.... strange to say the least (to be explained in other). Thanks to the DNA splicing, his hair is jet black and skin white, his normal ears are umbreon ears (on top of his head like umbreon), he has an umbreon tail, and around his wrists and ankles are the yellow rings of an umbreon. The X tag is well hidden on his left ear, which also has a knick in it from the explosion.
Personality: Storm is very shy and secretive, not speaking unless he has to. If you can break that outer shell, he's modest, dependable and very adaptive. Although skillful in battle, Storm mostly is a diplomat and prefers to talk and resolve an argument peacefully before claws and teeth come out. Mainly a loner, he doesn't really know how to accept help and will try to resolve a problem himself, sometimes the situation becoming worse.
Strong points: With his healing moves, Storm is a great team player and has good longevity. Being thin, he'e nimble and quick, making him hard to hit. Confuse ray is his main form of offense, twisting the minds of opponents, making contact hard to make on him.
Weakness: Has a strange weakness to Fire and Electric types (x4 each). Although he's hard to hit and has longevity with moonlight and heal bell, Storm is easily overpowered with brute force. His shyness is also a hard bit to get past.
Other: When Storm is neutral and calm, they're stormy blue, but they start to creep up to when he's in battle, something angers him, or during moments of high tension (a defect). During the transfusion, the chambers for the human and the pokehuman became unexpected heated, it was a wonder the specimen survived as heat and electricity hit the chambers, and weakened the resistance to it (defect).
Human Form:
Name: Carmen Young
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: Carmen is about the same height as Storm, both about 5'7", but she is a bit more solidly built than him due to athletics. Her hair is an auburn color and kept in a neat braid. Carmen's eyes are a jade green, her ears kind of pointed (a trait in her family). She hears a tank top and shorts mainly, and a worn pair of sneakers (or trainers, if they're the same thing). Carmen almost always has an ipod and a pair of earbuds with her, the latter slightly hanging out of one of her pockets.
Personality: Carmen is bubbly and cheerful. She's athletic and relatively smart. One thing about her that some say is a blessing and some say is a major flaw, Carmen only fights when it is absolutely required of her, although many haven't seen her fight. So a lot of people think she's a pacifist. Mainly, she's the one who steps in the middle and disarms the warring parties. Her cheerfulness sometimes translates to ignorance, getting her into unsavory situations, but the girl's happiness is a hard flame to put out. However, she is easily scared if something were to ambush her and has been known to faint in extreme situations.
Starter post:
Storm woke up in the rubble of the lab. He knew what happened. Del lied to us. He wants fame, and doesn't care who he kills. He saw an umbreon's ears and started to panic, but remembered they were his. The umbreon pokemorph wasn't used to his new form. I need to get out of this rubble. He shuddered, the rubble fell right off, oddly enough. Storm stood carefully and soon became painfully aware of his injuries, his arms were cut up. Reflexively, Storm felt his ears, the right was fine, the left had a knick in it, thankfully not bleeding. What was bleeding, however, were his arms. There was a glare of lights, and a skarmory girl followed them. Storm went parallel to them.
Eventually, the umbreon pokemorph's vision started blurring. He was fighting to breathe. Maybe...a...break...would...be...in...order... he thought, kneeling down, trying to regain his breath. Storm's vision is going black, and he fades into unconsciousness.
Carmen has humming along to her music as she walked along a forest trail. Suddenly, all she heard was an explosion, and not the music she was listening to. Carmen turned off the device that played her music and took out her earbuds, knowing that she'd need her wits about her. The auburn headed girl started towards the source, walking off the path and into he foliage. Not too from what Carmen thought was the source, a figure was collapsed on the ground, an umbreon. She got closer, and the umbreon glowed until the umbreon was.... a pokemon and human hybrid? Should I come closer? Carmen looked at this... pokehuman, along his arms were scratches and gashes, and there was a knick in his left ear, when was an umbreon's. Oh my gosh.... he needs help.... I'm the only one here. I could be his only chance. Carmen scooped up the umbreon boy, which was surprisingly light, and started for her house, trying not to jostle this strange creature and hurt it more than it was already.
She got home, a window was open, and nothing got in, thankfully. Carmen climbed in the window and went into one of the guest bedrooms to set the pokemorph down, then she went to find something to heal this creature. All the girl had was a few super potions. Hoping it would work, Carmen took one and some of the bandages, then went back towards the bedroom, when a letter flew in the window, it was addressed to someone named Storm, described as a human and..... umbreon hybrid! So that's what was his name! Carmen went back into the bedroom and worked on healing Storm's arms with the super potion, sighing with relief as it actually worked, then wrapped his arms in bandages.
By this time, consciousness was starting to kick back into Storm, he opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was her auburn hair. Storm recoiled and feel onto the floor. Carmen jumped back, surprised. "Sorry! Are you ok?" she asked him. He looked up, and quickly asked, "Could you explain what's going on? Carmen explained the situation then asked a question of her own, "You-you're Storm, right?" Storm got up and nodded. Carmen opened the note and read the address. "Should I come too?" asked Carmen. Storm thought about it for a moment, then nodded. "Well.... you kinda saved my life. I can't turn you down." he said, then the umbreon pokemorph winced. His arms ached and were wrapped in a strange white cloth, the rest of him was fine. "Are you sure you should do this?" Carmen asked Storm, who responded, "I have a feeling I should be there, for some reason."
They set off for the address, Storm's eyes slid into an emerald green. Carmen saw this and asked him, slightly freaked out "Wh-what just happened with your eyes?" Storm saw his reflection in a puddle and told her, "It's a long story, i'll tell you later." The girl seemed satisfied by this and changed the topic, "I know your name.... but you never got mine, did you? Storm thought about it and nodded. She stated her named to him. "Well, thanks for your help Carmen." said Storm. She seems nice. he thought.
Storm and Carmen arrived at the address, obviously on the "bad" side of town. Neither of them looked very eager to go in, so they waited. Nearby was a skarmory girl that Storm had seen, but he didn't know her. Maybe there's more of us around that survived. Storm thought, as he waited for something of note to happen.
Sorry for the unfinished form. I wanted to get some ideas down before I forgot them, but I'm not quite finished with everything, so I'll probably end up editing this a bit. These character are very different from my own personality, so this should be interesting. I'll probably either be awful at properly writing them, or it'll be a lot of fun. It's getting really late, so I have to go. Please tell me if there are any problems with what I have already written. Thanks.
Pokemorph:
Name: Spite
Pokemon Species: Deino
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Moveset: Bite, Headbutt, Roar, Dragon Rush ((if roar won't work for this I'll change it to body slam.))
Appearance: Spite is a short, small girl, but is surprisingly strong for a girl her size, thanks to the Deino DNA. Her teeth are sharper-then-normal and accompanied by a couple short fangs. She has long, messy, black hair that reaches down to her mid-back, with bangs that cover her eyes. Her eyes have fuchsia irises and black sclera, but are cloudy. She has black hair or fur growing around her neck and over her shoulders, getting thicker and longer at her shoulders. The fur around her shoulders has six fuchsia spots in it in a circle. She also has a short, blue tail at the base of her back. She can hide most of these features under normal cloths and she wears a scarf to hide the fur around her neck. Her X tag is on her back, between her shoulder blades, hidden under her fur.
Personality: Spite is a brash, hasty, and energetic girl who won't let anything slow her down. She is easily annoyed and will attack anything that bothers her. She won't back down from a fight, unless said fight gets in the way of whatever goal she's working toward, in which case she'll run away yelling something along the lines of "I don't have time for this!" She speaks in a rather blunt manner and is often a little rude. She is, however, not completely selfish, she can be very sympathtic and caring, though not all the time. She is also very protective and will not hesitate to attack anything that threatens anything she cares about.
Strong points: She is a very strong physical attacker, and a fairly quick one as well. Being a dragon/dark type, she has some pretty nice resistances. Her defenses aren't bad, so she can take a few hits. Her morphing with Deino gave her heightened senses, except for vision, which she lost entirely (a defect. Though blindness was to be expected for a deino pokemorph, the scientists tried to prevent it, but failed, so they considered this a defect.)
Weakness: She has no support moves, only offensive ones, limiting what she can do. She can dodge attacks, just not well. Her blindness often causes problems, such as causing her to trip over things often, preventing her from seeing oncoming attacks, and so on.
Human Form:
Name: Kyra North
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Appearance: Kyra usually looks pretty serious. She prefers to have her short, medium brown hair down, but when she needs to get it out of the way she'll pull it into a tight bun. She usually dresses in a nice way, wearing a nice blouse and either a skirt or dressy pants, depending on the weather, though when the situation calls, she doesn't mind (too much) switching to a shirt, jeans, and a jacket that she won't mind getting dirty and to offer her better protection when walking through the woods.
Personality: Kyra is very cold. She is very much a no-nonsense kind of person. She she speaks very bluntly, harshly, and is just generally not a friendly person. She usually isn't very sympathetic, though she has her moments. She can fight somewhat well, but only if she has to. She is selfish and is not likely to help anyone unless it affects her somehow. She is very intelligent and is a good strategist.
Starter Post:
Spite ran. She ran and ran as fast as she could, ignoring the pain her injuries gave her, ignoring how light headed and dizzy she was feeling from blood loss, ignoring the fact that she had no idea where she was going aside from 'away'. Away from that horrible place, the place that caused her so much pain and fear, she just had to get away. She ran, ignoring everything that should have stopped her. Everything, except for that root. She tripped, falling face first into the mud. She couldn't get up, she couldn't move, she was exhausted, she tasted blood. She passed out.
Kyra heard an explosion. She was sitting in the living room of her house when she heard it. Wondering what could have happened, she decided to go investigate. She walked through the woods, disgusted by the muddy ground. Despite this, she kept going, until she spotted something. What is that? It looks like a pokemon, maybe a deino? Something about it seems weird... When she got closer she realized something. It's a human! I think... She looks injured. What is she doing out here? I guess I can't leave her here... Kyra picked up the strange girl, who at least wasn't too heavy, and carried her back. She lay the girl on the couch, washed and bandaged her wounds, then left the room to try and figure out what to do. She noticed a note that had been slipped under her door. She opened the door to see if whoever left it was still there, but saw nothing. She picked up the note and read it. "To Spite, a human/deino hybrid," weird, but it must be talking about that girl. So she is actually a hybrid? What else does this note say? The note only gave an address.
Spite started to wake up. She could tell she was in a different place. It was warmer here, and it smelled different. It felt like someone had treated her wounds, though they still hurt. She felt sore. She got up from the couch and tried to walk around, but tripped on the rug on the floor. "Ow!" she said as she landed with a thud. Kyra heard this and ran to the living room. Spite smelled someone enter the room and looked in their direction, trying to get back up.
"Oh you're up I see. Here, I believe this is for you. Kyra threw the note toward Spite.
Spite heard the sound of the paper as it gently landed near her. She picked it up, "What is this?" she asked.
Kyra scoffed, "It's a note. Isn't that your name written on it?".
"I don't know," Spite replied.
"How can you not know your own name?" Kyra asked in disbelief.
"I know my name, I just can't see it. I'm blind."
Of course. Should have expected that. Kyra took the note from Spite and read it out to her.
"I'm guessing you need to go to this address. You'll probably need me to guide you there, right? Come on, let's go." Kyra gestured for Spite to come with her, before remembering that was useless, then left the room. Spite got up and followed her out.
The trip to the strange address was uneventful, thankfully. In going to the address, they found themselves in the bad part of town. Kyra didn't like it, and Spite didn't like the smell, the place just felt unsettling to deino pokemorph. When they reached the address, they noticed there were already some others there.
Well, allow me to pick my way through your post. First off, i'm not shy, so i'm not like Storm in that aspect, but people would say i'm dependable and adaptive. I'm kinda secretive, but also arrogant to a point. Then comes Carmen, who's charismatic, cheerful and brimming with energy. My polar opposite, I have no charisma or charm to most, i'm mellowed out and slightly dark, and I can be brimming with energy, but as I stated before, i'm mostly mellow. So you're in the same boat as me, dragoncat.
Roar.... hmm.... that could be interesting how you use that if you choose to. There could be some sort of fear effect like in MAA (Marvel: Avengers Alliance), a game I play on facebook. The ideas are coming to me, time to start thinking.
Lastly, your form looks good so far. I really couldn't find anything wrong so far, nice work.
Pokemorph:
Name: Aya Morgans
Pokemon Species: Gengar
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Moveset: Shadow Ball, Focus Blast, Psychic, Thunderbolt.
Appearance: Aya is shorter than average for her age, standing at 150 cm (or 4' 11"). She's also stocky in build. She has short, spiky purple hair (including two larger spikes that go up from where her ears are). She has bright red eyes, although disguises them as brown with green contact lenses. On her back, she has three lines of purple spikes. One follows her spine, and the other two start at the base of her shoulder blades. She also has a short tail, extending from the base of her back. This she usually hides with a jacket tied around her waist.
Aya has very light skin, and rather forgettable features. She tends to wear neutral tones, or blacks. What she usually wears is a thick t-shirt, and comfortable pants (usually trackies). She also keeps a hoodie tied around her waist to hide the Gengar tail. Her fingernails are tinted purple, and slightly pointed. She has a steel 'bracelet' (here meaning cuff) around her left wrist (Refer to Weakness). She wears a large backpack to hide her spinal spikes.
Her X tag is on the back of her right shoulder.
Personality: Aya is odd. At first, she comes across as hostile, if not chilly to strangers. But then, with people she is familiar with, she's cheerful, if not a little bit mischievous. She is blunt with her opinions (unless it suits her purposes to sugar coat), but she also tries not to hurt the feelings of her friends.
She hates being useless to her friends, and will often be rather cranky if circumstances cause her to be a burden. The other side to that is that if she can be helpful, she will do her best to meet expectations.
Rather stubborn, Aya refuses to back down from problems until she finds a solution. This does however mean that she pushes herself too far quite frequently, especially while trying to master her abilities (the turning into a Pokemon and going intangible [See Strengths])
Strong points:
Consciously-controlled intangibility: Aya can, with a lot of concentration, go intangible, allowing her to pass through objects. Normal and Fighting attacks are nullified in this form, and she levitates. However, she needs a lot of practice to be able to do this for a long period of time, and there are many drawbacks (See Weaknesses).
Poison resistance- Aya resists all common poisons, and rarer ones take longer to work.
Weakness: When solid, she has normal human weaknesses.
When intangible, she has four main weaknesses. Salt (She can't pass over a line of it, or through something that's mixed with salt. Caused by a defect.), iron (initially, contact with it makes the part in contact return to a solid state. Later, she'll be able to phase through, but it takes more energy than just finding a door.), steel (same as iron, except stronger effects), and running out of energy.
Getting hit with a steel type move will force Aya back to corporeal. (Defect)
The cuff around her wrist means that her wrist remains solid, so she can't fully phase through anything (yet). (The scientists put it on her to keep her controlled. Prolly Del's idea)
After returning from intangibility, Aya needs to eat (and preferably sleep) (defect), and will be weakened and have trouble concentrating for anywhere up to two hours. With practice, this time will get less, and she'll be able to remain intangible for longer. However, the more she practices, the more energy she's using in practice so...
Other: When Aya is intangible, the area directly surrounding her (call it two inches from her skin) drops in temperature (about 12 degrees Celsius).
Human Form:
Name: Arthur Kinsley-Paulsen (Art)
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Appearance: Art is about 6' 2", making him taller than average. His build is pretty much average, although a bit on the lanky side.
He has an open, honest, easily read face, partially framed by shoulder length, straight brown hair, which he usually wears in a ponytail to keep out of his light blue eyes (although a couple of wisps inevitably come out of the ponytail, to drift at the sides of his face).
Usually, Art wears simple, good quality clothes, that he doesn't mind getting messy. These normally take the form of a dark short sleeved shirt, brown cargo pants and a good pair or work boots.
On his left hand (unless cooking or giving medical care) he wears a silver ring, engraved with 'Maria Alexandra Kinsley-Paulsen, lest we forget'. He also normally carries a messenger bag, filled with various odds and ends (for cooking, medical and clothing repair purposes)
Personality: Art is the sort of person who believes that the best thing he can do is help others who need it. He will offer help to anyone in nee, and dislikes being thanked. He'd rather someone pass on the kindness to others, than use hollow words for him.
A very honest person, Art doesn't like to hide his emotions, or lie, unless doing so will help others. Normally, he comes across as a very cheerful person, always ready with a kind word or action.
A good judge of character (for the most part), Art makes decisions about people based on their actions, not their words, or other people's opinions about them. While this can lead him astray, it's usually reliable.
Once he's decided that someone needs his help, it takes a pretty big act of betrayal to make him decide to stop helping them.
Other: Art is a first year medical student, with a passion for cooking. He also knows how to fix or patch most rips in clothing. If doing something, anything he might need but doesn't yet goes into his pockets. Usually he forgets to put it away again afterwards.
Starter Post: -see next post. will break char limit otherwise-
Will finish when I can. Hope Aya's alright so far
EDIT- almost done. just need to write the starter.
So far, the only flaw is how you'll hide the spikes, because not many shirts can stand ripping, and even then your back would bulge out. Can you elaborate on that?
Either something over the shirt, or the spikes are quiet short (like an inch tall at most). I'll hash it out over the next couple of days, since I won't have access to a comp until maths is over on monday
Alright, no rush. Even after you and dragoncat finish I'll allow another pair or two to join before I close joining.
HOPE THIS IS OKAY!! vuv
Pokemorph:
Name: Rush
Pokemon Species: Yanmega
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Moveset: Screech, Ancientpower, Agility, Bug Buzz
Appearance: Rush was not blessed with an attractive Pokemorph form. He is rather dark skinned, especially on his hands and feet, with round red marks all down his sides, and his X skin tag scarred into his right forearm. Tall and thin, 6'2'' , he often hunches over, and has two wide, but short, black spines pushing their way out of back. Forcing themselves out of his sides as well are a pair of translucent, red tipped bug's wings, ones that, with care, he can wrap around himself well enough to hide under his clothes. He also bares the beginnings of a long rudder like tail growing out of him, tipped with tiny wings as well.
Face and head wise, Rush has a black fin-like Mohawk of hair and a rounded face, with virtually no chin. Rush's eyes are an area of much distress for him, both of them being large, red, and compound, forcing him to hide them behind a pair of dark sunglasses. He also has a small pair of fangs that takes great care to not have protrude out of his mouth.
The last piece of his Yanmega attributes comes in the form of two very small, vestigial, black arms that have grown from the middle of his chest. He can but barely move them, and for the most part he keeps them bound to his chest.
Personality: Self-loathing. Insecure. Rush despises the 'monster' he feels he is, and is often unhappy. This isn't helped by the fact his various insectoid body parts are nearly always aching at where they've burst from his skin (a Defect - see Other). His compound eyes are also a large burden for him, forcing him to see far more things at once than he'd ever wanted to, and often leaving him with painful headaches.
He is generally rather cautious with things, choosing words carefully and evaluatinghis options before making any decisions. He is envious of more "better-looking" Pokemorphs and humans. Sometimes he lashes out in anger, usually from being fed up over his various aches and pains, but more often than not he never means the things he says and is quick to apologize. The last thing he ever wants to do is hurt someone who didnt deserve it.
Strong points: Rush is, as his name would imply, fast. He can sprint like a pro and, when using Agility, can move at almost blinding speed to distract and hit enemies. He is also capable of producing glass-shattering shockwaves with his wings, and, with his bug-like eyes, can sometimes see things others can miss.
Weakness: Rush is frail around Ice and Fire, and if his wings are damaged, there is a high chance he is out of the fight for a while. He is also in constant pain and is often distracted by this and his bad headaches, leaving him vulnerable at inopportune times.
Other: The application of Yanmega DNA used in Rush's transfusion was a bit too aggressive, resulting in more being added than normal and more mutations on a greater scale than were expected (his eyes, his tiny second pair of arms, etc.) These parts of him grew far too quickly, leaving him with his persistent pains.
Human:
Name:Anna Bishop
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Appearance: A shortish girl, around 5'2'', Anna has thick dark brown, almost black hair that she keeps in two pigtails, one on each side of her head, held in place with two blue bows. Her eyes are large and a deep brown and her skin is fairly pale. She wears a small black choker with a pink heart pendant on it, jeans, and a simple white shirt with short black sleeves. She also wears black sneakers that she's applies sparkly pink star-shaped stickers.
Personality: A fun-loving, slightly naive girl, Anna is an eternal optimist, able to see the good in almost everyone and every situation. Some have called her 'annoying' for her persistent good natured friendliness, but she just wants people to be happy and not worry. She's a big fan of fairy tales and stories of magical girls and finds them very inspiring. She faces challenges with a brave face and a happy smile, but tends to get easily discouraged if things don't go the way she planned them.
Starter:
Rush's ears were ringing. He was staggering out of the rubble, looking like a tall, bug-eyed zombie sorts, and feeling about as bad as one. The normal pains he felt day in and day out felt magnified, and as he slowly looked down, he saw his arms and legs were badly bruised and sliced up by the debris of the explosion. Or, at least tried to see; his injuries multiplied about fifty times through his compound eyes, and he had to squeeze them shut after a few moments. They felt like they were burning through his skull.
As he dragged his long legs through the rubble, Rush opened his eyes again and turned his head slowly, trying to ignore the throbbing pain in his head. He needed to see his wings. Gently lifting them from where they'd been crumbled at his sides, he was pleased to see they didn't look ripped or battered too badly.
I need to get out of here, He thought through his haze of pain. Looking around, he could see the ruins of the laboratory, and recognized the urgency of his departure. But was he able to sprint? Looking down at himself, he felt certain his legs were going to buckle out from under him. Worth a test...? He thought again, and wheezed slightly. Pushing his wings to his sides, Rush lowered his body, and began to flee, running as much as he could.
...Which, as it turns out, was not much. Several yards away, in the forest, Rush collapsed, his legs indeed giving out from under him. He felt in a heap, and finally felt the sweet embrace of unconsciousness.
Anna was unsure of what she had discovered. She been exploring the woods, when a loud explosion had driven her to a site of great rubble and destruction. Hunting around, she'd discovered a strange being fallen not far from the destroyed area. It looked like a person, but had describably bug-like features. Like a Butterfree or... or a Yanmega! She thought, eyes wide. Was this some kind of strange mutant? Someone from the destroyed building, perhaps?
Whatever it was, Anna could clearly tell the being was hurt. "Oh, this is awful..." She mused, kneeling to examine the Pokemorph more. She needed to take this boy back to her nearby home, and clean him up. Otherwise he might be stuck out here, all alone, left to the elements Standing back up, she carefully tried to pick Rush up, having some difficulty due to his lanky size. Eventually, though, she developed a half-carry, half-drag method of transporting him, and soon managed to get him safely to her house. She then cleaned and cared for the morph, discovering all of his grotesque mutations along the way, including his pair of second arms, which twitched weakly in his unconscious state.
Whilst caring for him, a strange letter appeared at Anna's window. Curious, she examined it, finding it addressed to one 'Rush' and providing an address she knew was not in the best part of town. She then heard a loud groan, and whirled around to find her patient was waking up. Slowly, Rush opened his eyes, immediately wincing from light sensitivity. He heard a quiet gasp, and blinked, trying to figure out where he was. It a house, one he assumed was occupied by the shocked looking girl standing a few feet away. He winced again, She was staring at him, could see all of his disgusting body. The poor girl.
"Oh my gosh..." Anna breathed. She was not expecting his eyes to look so..unhuman. However, she could tell the boy before he seemed rather insecure at her staring at him, so she quickly waved him off, coming over, "Oh! Oh! Hi, don't worry. I'm Anna!" She said quickly, "I...I found you in the woods and you looked hurt, so I took you home and cleaned you up!"
Rush looked at her. She didn't look too repulsed at him, which surprised him. "...Thanks." He said after a minute. "Umm...are you...Rush?" the girl asked. He sat up a little. "Yeah." Anna grinned, handing him the letter, "This must be for you!"
Rush looked at the letter, read it over. "Are you going to go?" Anna asked him. She hoped he'd take the mysterious opportunity. "I...I mean, I guess..." Rush shrugged, looking down. He thought it over, "...I'm not in the best, shape, though."
"Then I'll go with you!!" Anna almost yelled, excited at the idea of maybe being part of something big. "I'll walk with you! I'll get you all cleaned up so you don't look too weird." She giggled and stood up, running off quickly. When she came back, she was holding a pair of dark sunglasses, "Here! You can even wear these, so nobody sees your eyes!"
Rush blinked, surprised at the girl's eagerness to help him. He flashed a tiny smile, "Aahhh...thanks..." He carefully placed the sunglasses on, content over how they fit his face.
Later, Rush and Anna were heading towards the meeting point. The Yanmega morph was now all cleaned up (abet still sore, but as he told Anna, he was used to it) and walked alongside the girl. Eventually, they reached the building they were instructed to meet at. Rush looked around. His face twisted a little bit, and he let out a loud sigh. Anna perked up, craning her neck up to look at him. "Are you okay?" Rush sighed again, rubbing a temple.
"I have a headache,"
What an interesting character to be honest. Trying to imagine this would likely give my little sis nightmares Let me get my sister.. This looks like something off of a little show we both like to watch (you know which one Dana.). I'll add them to the list, nice job.
Edit: I slept on it and decided to say this. I'm tempted to bring in another set of characters that would fit in with the two I have already, but hesitant for two reasons. A. The fact that I said one pair a user, and I go and break that rule. Hypocrisy. B. 4 Characters at once is chaotic for someone like me to handle. So, if you know anyone who's interested in joining and doesn't want to have to think about inventing a character, you or that person please PM me. Or, if you are ok with me doing another set, say so. If not, that's fine.
I'm almost done, I'm just really stuck on the appearance part for Kyra. I really don't know what she should look like. Can someone help me out a little, please? Oh, and is Spite's appearance okay?
I'd say go for your typical 'angular face, spindly thin, wears hair in tight bun' sort of archetype ^
I'd love to help with the deino appearance, but I think Chloe has this one (she loves Deino, that chain is her second favorites, second to none other than Helioptile's line).

Yeah, that's more or less what I was thinking, though that definitely paints a clearer picture, thanks! I'm just stuck on cloths... Like, I have an idea what she might wear, but I just can't put it into words, if that makes sense.
I'm not good with descriptions... This is why I usually draw characters first, it's a lot easier if I have something to look at, rather then just a mental image. But drawing takes too long and I haven't had much time for it thanks to exams...Quote from: ShinyBlaziken2000 on May 28, 2014, 01:09

Thanks for the offer, though I was just asking if it was acceptable. I'm totally okay with suggestions though ^^
idk, clothes wise Kyra seems like someone who dresses pretty, like, business-casual. Like a nice blouse, maybe a skirt or dressier type pants. :u idk just an idea though
Also I would stick this in my form but it's literally like 7 characters away from post limit so I will put it here: I drew Rush and he is super gross please look at my gross baby (http://i.imgur.com/uotW1ex.png)

Thank you! That's what I was thinking, just... It's kinda hard to describe, like, I know what I want, sort of, but the picture is kinda cloudy and the words get really jumbled up in my head, so even though I know the words, I just can't really get them until I have something to help straighten them out... if that makes any sense...
I don't know, I probably just sound crazy right now...

That's awesome.
My god Dana, that's almost (if not) Face Off worthy, very well done!
Hey, I was going to make a post yesterday, but then I figured I could tell you on chat, but then I got distracted and forgot, sorry. Anyway, I think my form is done.
Alright, i'll look through it.
Edit: Alright, you're in dragon cat. We'll wait on OpalRhea for a few more days before I pester remind her if she isn't done. I'm still taking new joiners from anyone else!
And questions can be posted here if you like.
Pokemorph:
Name: Jason "Minus" Alexander
Pokemon Species: Shedinja
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Moveset: Double Team, Protect, Shadow Sneak, X-Scissor
Appearance: Stands at about six feet tall. His skin is tan, though the shade of tan is more akin to the color of a Spotted Tan Beetle (http://bugguide.net/node/view/12597/bgpage) than a more familiar shade seen in people. He has the build of an Olympic wrestler in training; that is, fairly muscular but not "beefy". His presence and demeanor suggest he would be ideal for work as a security guard. He's a quiet sort of person; watching as others talk with his dull gray eyes that never seen completely open. He has dark gray hair that is cut short and lays flat on his head. On his back are papery wings of the same color as his skin. They don't allow flight of any sort and aren't attractive in the least bit as they look more like paper mâché. They aren't conventional insect wings; they split into three parts close to the base and are large enough to extend about a foot past his shoulders. His skin has the same texture as his wings: papery but firm. His face is plain: no facial hair aside from pale gray eyebrows and a stony expression. He has an "X" on his face, just below his left eye, and is easily seen. He wears a set of 'urban camoflauge' (black, white, and shades of gray) pants and a plain white t-shirt. He has on black hiking boots.
Personality: Quiet, reserved, and all together not a very emotive person. Someone who doesn't know him would have difficulty reading him. Jason seems completely muted to feelings, speaking in an almost monotone voice. He does know what emotions are and is aware that others have them, but he himself seems very distant and expressionless. He knows he felt happiness and anger and sadness before, but recalling the memories that evoked these sentiments does nothing for him. Jason only feels an emptiness; like he is a shell of his former self. He has fears, and can become "angry", but these emotions are dulled; you won't be able to tell what emotion he "feels" unless he outright says "I don't like fire/the dark" (See "Weakness")
Strong points: Blessed and cursed with Wonder Guard, Jason is impervious to most forms of attack. Punches and kicks are dodged (if the attacker is inexperienced) or deflected (i.e. they bounce harmlessly off him). Other attacks, such as knives (STEEL), stun guns (ELECTRIC), and poisons (self explanatory) are ineffective as well. His quiet and stony demeanor, as well as his Ghost typing, make him an excellent scout or spy. He has a knack for getting into places he shouldn't silently, though he is limited in his means of offense.
Weakness: Jason is best described as an "Achilles" type: powerful so long as his weaknesses aren't known. He has a terrible fear of FIRE and avoids any larger than a simple campfire. He is also uneasy in the DARK; though it provides good cover he has trouble seeing and navigating. Birds, especially larger ones, unsettle him, and he has difficulty navigating rocky terrain. Damage done to him of the five types he is weak to do more damage than expected, compared to the damage sustained by other Pokémorphs when up against their type disadvantages. When faced with an enemy that can potentially defeat him (let's say a Charizard Pokémorph), he prefers to deceive and flee. As for the types he is immune to, he can still be affected by them; if you hit him hard enough (say you throw a bus (STEEL) at him) he will be moved by the momentum but won't take damage directly from the vehicle itself.
((I will attempt to make a reasonable guess at the type of whatever is attacking/interacting with Jason. Shove him off a staircase and that's FLYING type, sneak attacks that aren't already a type would be DARK, etc.))
Other: You can look at his back all you want. You won't lose your spirit.
Human Form:
((One of the first times I've ever RPed a female. I also rarely RP multiple people, especially people who interact with each other a lot.))
Name: Clarissa Evans
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Appearance: Clarissa stands at about 5' 4" and is rarely seen without a smile of some sort. She has white skin with freckles on her face (which she doesn't like much), light brown hair and clear blue eyes. Her hair is just above shoulder length, cut into layers and often tied back in a ponytail or held back by a baseball cap ("It gets in my eyes" she says). She has a habit of looking deep into someone's eyes with a smile on her face, only to burst out laughing when they look at her strangely/with confusion. She is dressed simply: a pair of bright red Converse, some dark jeans, and a shirt with a math pun on it.
Personality: As suggested before, Clarissa is a very warm and happy person. Being the happy person she is, she sees it fit to spread this happiness to friends and complete strangers. Though she has her moments of sadness and worry, as we all do (well, except for Jason...), she tries to not let it burden her. Clarissa's happiness fades to anger when people aren't kind around her; say when someone makes very disparaging remarks regarding a group she is affiliated/sympathizes with. Her bubbly personality shouldn't be confused with "ditziness"; she has a level head and can reason through a situation assuming she isn't too emotionally invested (as is the case with many people).
Other: Thanks to having taken martial arts classes for almost 10 years, she can defend herself or attack should the situation arise.
Starter Post: Minus lifted himself up. He was covered in dust and small debris. The Explosion (NORMAL; Explosions can cause FIRE though) only knocked him to his knees, but the crumbling building around him (STEEL and ROCK) was what brought him to the floor. He had trouble standing; the debris falling on him, regardless of it's smaller size (typical "skipping stone" size chunks) hurt terribly. But he wasn't one to let pain stop him. Minus walked through the rubble, stumbling around with a stony expression on his face, until he came to a small clearing. He smelled gas in the distance. "I have to leave." he thought to himself. Near him were what looked to be bandages and other medical supplies: he was near the med center when the building decided to stop being a building and start being a pile of not-building.
He moved a bit faster as there was less rubble to impede his progress. Adrenaline from having survived an explosion began to wear off through, and his injuries were becoming more and more known. His lungs burned from inhaling smoke and dust (FIRE, ROCK), and he felt tired. He fell to his knees to catch his breath near a dirt path on the outskirts of the not-building.
Clarissa was riding by on a bicycle en route to a fast food restaurant she frequented. The path she took was near the building that exploded, but she only ever saw it from a distance. Today though the building exploded, which piqued Clarissa's interest enough to have her take a detour. She rode down a small hill on a dirt path towards the building when she saw a tan man on his knees.
"Hey! Hey dude! Are you alright?" she asked, pulling up to the man. Minus looked up at the girl who arrived with a blank expression.
"I am." he replied in a slightly monotone voice.
"What happened?! There was a building here. It was really cool looking." the young woman asked. Her voice changed from concern to questioning, though still retained a sense of worry for the man's health.
"It exploded."
"Well duh. Why did it explode? Are you alright?"
Minus stood up with some trouble. Clarissa turned to her bike, grabbed a bottle of water, and held it to the man. He took it after a while, poured some water into his mouth, and handed it back to her.
"I've already said I'm fine. I don't know why the building exploded." he answered.
"Well you don't look okay. I don't live far; my dad can help you." She began helping the man stay on his feet. She reeled back when she felt his skin and brushed her arm against his wings. "Oh! You're in cosplay. Sorry! It looks super good though!" Worry was replaced with excitement. Minus looked at his body; his skin was pale tan, papery, and tough. There were wings with similar texture on his back. He looked back to the girl. "Are you supposed to be a Shedinja?.
"This isn't a costume. This is who I am."
Clarissa had a look that was a mix of awkwardness and embarrassment. She helped Minus to her bike and, thanks to pegs installed on the back wheels ((I have no idea what they're called)), she took him home without another word. Her father, after recovering from seeing his daughter bring home a strange boy (both in the "unfamiliar" and "not quite human" sense), cleaned his wounds, gave him a clean tshirt, and asked him similar questions ("Are you okay?").
"What's your name?"
"My name was Jason. They called me 'Minus'."
"Dad found this on you. It looks like a message for you." She held out a wrinkled and folded piece of paper. Minus looked it over.
"I need to go." he said, standing up and walking towards the door.
"Oh no you aren't! Not without a 'thank you' mister!" Clarissa called out, following the boy out the door towards the alley the address instructed them to.
Alright Macintosh, I think it looks good so far.
Both forms done. I'm eager to start.
Js - the back wheel pegs are called 'coggs' and letting someone ride on them is called 'giving a coggie'
I'm also eager for this to begin.
Alright, once Opal finishes hers up, we can start. I've warned her to not let it get too complicated (like get out alive).
Other than Opal finishing her forms and adding the new characters (which she had an interesting idea, and I allowed), joins are closed.
Had to put Art and Aya's starter here due to char limit. Will try to get Chris and Nivi done soon, but can't promise comp access so...
Starter Post: The explosions echoed in her ears. The entire underground complex had collapsed. Normally, she would have been happy about that. But that was working on the assumption that the other experiments, and maybe some of the kinder scientists had gotten out. 'Damn that Del. Damn him to hell.' Aya thought grimly, as she tried to dig through the rubble. She flinched slightly as her fingers came in contact with one of the steel supports. She hoped that she was going the right way. It was hard to tell with her eyes jammed closed. The scrape on her back hurt, and her body felt sore.
Reaching up, she felt wood at her grasping fingertips. 'The remains of the shack!' Relief overwhelmed her common sense, and she let the breath she'd been holding go.
Realizing her mistake, she desperately scrabbled to move the wood. Cold air touched her fingers, and she dragged herself up. Taking a deep breath of the fresh air, she promptly started coughing. What she hacked up was an unpleasant black colour. Damn. Breathed in too much smoke and grit. Just gotta get... away from here... She thought determinedly. Carefully, she tried to rise to her feet, but that ache was too much. Carefully, gradually she dragged herself down the rubble. When her fingers touched grass, she almost sobbed. She tried to drag herself further, but the effort proved too much. Her last thought, as the world span into blackness was 'I'd better not be the only one who got out. That would suck.'
When Aya woke up, she was in a hot bath, still fully clothed. The water was a murky brown, probably from all the dust and grit she'd accumulated climbing out of the now ruins. Before she even got a chance to look around, she heard the door open. She turned to look at the door, glaring balefully.
When she saw the young man standing there, balancing a pile of clothes and towels, she couldn't help a giggle. He looked kinda ridiculous. "Oh, you're awake. If I'd realized, I would have knocked. How're you feeling? Also, breakfast will be ready soon, if you're hungry."
"Better? I guess. And thanks. I think?" She said uncertainly, and the guy grinned.
"I had to guess your size, but I think I got pretty on the mark. When you're ready, if you go down the hallway, into the room with the blue bed spread, I'll bring you food. There's soap on the side board, and I'll just leave these here." The young man said, putting the clothes and towels on a rack. Then he nodded to her, and stepped back out, closing the door.
Within a few minutes, she had scrubbed to satisfaction. She'd felt something odd where she expected the scrape to be, and after draining the bath, had a look via the mirror. What she saw was a line of straight, neat stitches, holding the wound tightly closed. She also saw the spikes and grimaced. She knew about them, but Arceus they made things harder. The boy was probably going to ask about them, since there was no way he could have missed them while he had... done whatever it was he'd done. 'Well... the only way to find out what he knows is to ask him. Besides, I should probably thank him, and eat something.' She thought, as she looked through the pile of fresh clothes for something suitable.
In ten minutes, she was in the room the boy had described, fully dressed, and a little bit awestruck. The house was huge, even just the single stretch she'd had to go down to get to the room. The room was clearly frequently used, judging by the books on the bedside table, and the bouquet of flowers on the window sill. Curious, she looked at the books. Most of them looked to be medical texts, although there were a couple of novels present as well.
"Ahem. Usually it's good manners to not snoop through a host's things." His voice sounded amused. Aya whipped around guiltily. When she saw the young man standing in the doorway, grinning, while balancing two trays, she shook her head in amusement.
"Well usually it's considered bad manners to sneak up on someone." She retorted.
"But is it sneaking if you were expecting me? I wasn't sure what you liked, so there's muffins, some chopped fruit, scrambled eggs, some sausages, and bagels." He grinned easily, and stepped over, setting the tray down near her lap. When Aya opened it, she saw a note sitting next to the plates, addressed to her. There was also a small box underneath, holding two circular pieces of plastic.
"Contact lenses. I borrowed my sister's. They should help disguise your eyes. I've got something for the spikes and tail too, but those can wait. The note had been slipped under the kitchen window. I assume it's for you." He said, watching as Aya read the note. He noticed her eyebrows furrow, and couldn't help a spot of curiosity.
Then Aya looked up at him. "Are you willing to help me find where this says to go? I'm pretty sure I have no clue where it is. And also, what's your name anyway? You know mine, so it's only fair I learn yours." Aya said, as she handed the note over.
"Sure. My name's Arthur by the way. But I'd really prefer Art. ...This address is over on the other side of town. 'Bout an hour's walk." Art shrugged, and then started eating quickly.
Aya followed suit. She wasn't looking forward to a long walk, but if it was the only option...
When they were done, Aya tried to figure out how to put the contacts in, without much success. "Hold on. Sit still for a second." Art said, and took the contacts carefully. "Open your eyes wide. Wider. There. Yeah it's uncomfortable. Okay, now for the other one. And blink a few times to get them in place... There you go." Within two minutes both were in place, and Aya's eyes were watering. She blinked rapidly, and felt the lenses become marginally more comfortable.
"Why does anyone wear these again?" She asked indignantly.
"Some people wear them as an alternative to glasses. Others, because they're a way to change your eye colour. Now hold on a minute. I'll get the stuff for hiding your tail and spikes." He said, as he stood, and grabbed the dishes. When he came back, he was carrying a large backpack, and a jumper. "Tie the jumper around your waist, and wear the backpack. There are some spare clothes in the backpack as well, to give it more solidity." Art watched as Aya did as he'd said, then nodded. "If I didn't know they were there, I'd never be able to tell. Now come on. Let's get to your rendezvous."
Art led Aya down to a garage, grabbing his messenger bag from a hook at the bottom of the stairs on the way.
"I thought you said we were walking?" Aya asked, curious.
"We can if you'd like, but whoever called you there might be gone by then. This is quicker." Art grinned, and walked towards a small, beat up looking car. "I need to take it in for servicing anyway, so..."
"You're killing two birds with one stone?" She finished.
"Three actually. Give you a lift to where you need to go, get the car serviced, and keep it from being stolen. Now hop in. Yes it's safe."
Within twenty minutes, they were parked outside of a repair shop, bang in the middle of the bad side of town. Art seemed at peace, and Aya couldn't help but relax slightly. Maybe it was being fused with Gengar, but this place felt... safe-ish to her. That was more than she could say for Art's driving. She was pretty sure he hadn't done anything illegal, but only just.
"Lemme just get this in, and we can walk to your meeting. It's only about a block away, but it's easy to get lost here." Art said, and Aya nodded, happy to get out of the car.
Ten minutes later, and they walked around the corner to see a group of people waiting. "I think we're the last ones here." Aya murmured.
" Nah. Everyone's paired off. Whoever called you all here hasn't arrived yet. Looks like you weren't the only one out of that wreckage though... Encouraging, I think."
Hurry is you can. I may start this soon without Chris and Nivi due to everyone's (especially mine) excitement. Accepted. What the hell is a jumper anyways?
In progress now.
A jumper is like a jacket, but no zipper. Hoodies are usually jackets here, but you do get some jumpers with hoods.
Ok, thanks for the update. Opal and I have something special planned for on of the two characters.
And that sounds confusing.
Easy way to remember; Jackets have some kind of water proofing. jumpers usually don't.
Just stuck a little on what Nivi's personality should be. can you get on IRC so we can hash it out?
Ah..... I think I know what you mean now. I'm likely wrong. Oh well. I'll be on IRC
Forms:
Pokemorph:
Name: Nivian (Nivi)
Pokemon Species: Growlithe
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Moveset: Frustration, Flame Wheel, Dig, Reversal (will change during the rp)
Appearance: Nivi is about 4' 11.5" with long, almost delicate looking limbs and features.
She has boyishly short, messy blond hair, with two small Growlithe ears poking out above her temples. Her face is narrow, with features that could be described as elfin. Her eyes are violet, although darken when she's upset or angry. Her skin is naturally lightly tanned.
Her skin is striped on her arms, back and legs (one stripe halfway down her upper arm, and one around the wrist on each arm, a trio of stripes that follow her ribs around, and two stripes on each thigh. All stripes are black). All stripes (excluding the wrists) are covered by clothing. Her nails are very white and pointed.
She also has a small fluffy tail that extends from the base of her spine, although this can be compressed and hidden in clothing (or just under a jacket tied around her waist).
Normally, Nivi dresses comfortably; in jeans and some kind of shirt (oddly she always manages to find ones with band logos or fandom references), either long sleeved or just a tee shirt (but she's careful that the sleeves at least reach her elbows). Her shoes are just basic blue and white sneakers.
Personality: Tomboyish, feisty and independent, Nivi doesn't like being fussed over. If she thinks she's in over her head, she'll ask for help, but until then she'll argue tooth and claw with someone trying to protect her, both metaphorically and in some cases literally
An opinionated, outspoken young woman, Nivi won't hesitate to speak her mind if a situation bothers her (unless it's a delicate situation, in which case one would hope she can keep her mouth shut). Also, Nivi is not usually one to sugarcoat something, mostly due to her big mouth.
Loyal to a fault, Nivi would sacrifice anything to save loved ones. This is both good, and horrendously troublesome. Some would describe this as her greatest strength; others would deem it her Achilles's heel. One thing's for certain, harm someone she loves and you'll get burned in the process.
Strong points: Immunity to fire; Because of her Flash Fire ability, even in pokemorph form Nivi can absorb flames (and possibly just heat). She can use this to heal minor wounds (while in pokemorph form). However, this doesn't mean she should make a habit of getting hit by massive streams of fire (mostly since it makes her a little hyperactive, and her clothes aren't fireproof). But she will use it to protect the fire vulnerable members of the group.
Personal Loyalty; Refer to Personality
Weaknesses: Claustrophobia; Nivi hates enclosed spaces. If a space is too tight, she'll start hyperventilating and be unable to focus at all. Even worse if said space is underground
Thermal sensitivity; Temperatures that are too low slow Nivi's reactions and abilities. If her body is kept warm, she's safe. If her core body temperature drops below 35 degrees C, she's at severe risk. Her natural core body temperature is 39 degrees C.
Personal Loyalty; Refer to Personality
Other: She LOVES spicy food. Will devour it as soon as it's given to her (although she usually complains that it's not spicy enough). When stressed, worried or annoyed, she'll play with small balls of fire (palm sized at most) to calm down (these fizzle out if more than a foot away from her, unless used to light an actual fire).
Human Form:
Name: Christian (Chris) Wyrick
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Appearance: Chris has dark reddish hair, which is usually kept short and neat blue grey eyes, more blue than grey. He's vaguely handsome in a studious way. Chris' hands are calloused and he has disproportionate shoulders, his skin is also light. Chris usually has a dark jacket over a white shirt, jeans and sneakers for everyday wear. He has an unfinished dragon tattoo on his left shoulder and a crooked nose. To top it all off, Chris small scar cutting through his left eyebrow. He's about 5'7"
Personality: Chris is quiet, patient and regrets many of the things done in the experiments, both what he did and didn't do. Now, he wants to make amends for them, and see justice done to Del. Almost calculating but refuses to put people's lives at risk unless if there isn't a better way. Chris doesn't open up quickly, and won't always tell full truths. He has a good memory. Also, if Chris thinks he deserves something (like a hit) will take without a word, but if unjustified, he will protest or fight back. Chris also hates people who cheat and manipulate others, and will try to make a situation looks better than it is, even when hopeless. He is also logical with a desire to know how things work but tempered by his desire to not harm others.
Other: Chris has been doing martial arts and kickboxing to manage stress since he was a kid.
Starter Post:
((This will explain the notes and why it says to meet at the address))
Chris unlocked the door to the shack in the woods and walked in, locking it behind him. Then he walked downstairs after finding a hidden trap door, after which, Chris punched in his PIN and scanned a card. A door opened, and Chris walked in, the door closing behind him. The lab was a beehive of activity, scientists were talking, running tests, then Professor Del was talking with another scientist, frustrated. Then Del drops the bombshell, he intended to explode the whole place, he pressed a button and casually strolled out. Like Chris, the other scientists were in a frenzy, trying to gather notes or get out. Chris tried the door. Locked. He swore under his breath. Then, he had an idea, the chambers where fusing was done. Unless some idiot turned the machine on, he'd be safe from the blast, hopefully. That's a risk i'll have to take Chris thought, as he ran into an empty chamber. The door closed and not even a second later, the chamber tore apart and he closed his eyes....
When Chris opened his eyes, he was miraculously unharmed. The other scientists, however, were dead. Then a figure crawled out of the debris and into the forest, then another, and another. It seemed as if all the test subjects were escaping, slowly, into the forest. Chris picked himself up off the ground and thought, in anger He used us, Del used us all. Then tried to be rid of us all. Damned idiot. Chris started to walk away when something caught his eye. It was a growlithe pokemorph, female. He knew her name, Nivi. She seemed to be unconscious, he didn't think it would be good to leave her out here. Chris carefully picked Nivi up into his arms and started towards his house.
He arrived at his house, which was dingy and bad on the outside (as many would say about the neighborhood), but was actually small, well-furnished and comfortable. Chris set Nivi down on the couch and looked her over. She mostly bruised and had scratches on her. That, thankfully, was all. Chris sighed in relief and tended to her. After that was finished, he pondered what to do then. What do I do now? I need to get everyone together so we can set out after him..... If I had a psychic pokemon... I could see where they are and send note out. Wait.... a moment....
10 minutes and a small bribe later ((don't ask)), Chris was writing notes out to the pokemorphs that he knew got out. After each note was written, the kirlia that Chris borrowed would find the pokemorph using psychic, teleport to the location, put the note into the window and teleport back. When that was done, the kirlia left and Chris had a bit of time to digest the events that happened that day. Soon after notes went out, Nivi started to stir. She yawned and looked around, confused. Chris saw that she woke up, he simply said, "Glad to see you're awake."
Nivi asked Chris, "Where am I?"
He figured she'd ask this and said, "You're somewhere safe. That's all I have to say now. I'll explain later, but for now, you'd better rest." Chris knew Nivi, and knowing her, she'd fire back, and she started to. However, Chris stopped it short and draped a blanket around a surprised Nivi. Usually, she's able to fire back, so this was news to her. Nivi decided that it would wise to rest, she was exhausted anyways. The growlithe pokemorph put her head back down and closed her eyes to sleep.
Chris waited.....and waited.....until two figures walked into view, a skarmory pokemorph and a tall young man. A few minutes later, a young woman and an umbreon pokemorph. Soon, more of the pairs showed up. Chris went to Nivi and woke her up. Nivi sat up but elected to keep the blanket around her, since she thought it was cold in the room. "Nivi, they're coming." Chris said.
"Who's coming?" she simply asked.
Chris replied, "The others. We're about to set the record straight."
((This pair will be co-controlled by OpalRhea and the arguably insane ShinyBlaziken2000. Yes I know its crap will clean up/flesh out later. Wanted to get this up ASAP.))
((Accepted. And the insane part was from me. ;) Now we can start now! *Cheers*))
Storm and Carmen looked around, some other figures were near the house, but Storm's head was still foggy from the events from earlier, so he couldn't remember any of them. Carmen couldn't tell who they were because she didn't know any of them. Some seemed to be fully human, others obviously weren't. "Odd. I thought we were the only ones." Carmen said, trying to see how many others were here. Storm shook his head, "I had a feeling we weren't alone. Should we go?" he said.
Carmen and Storm whispered and deliberated for a few moments. No one else had stepped forward. Finally, Carmen said, "I'm going, come along with me if you wish." The girl started for the house and got halfway before Storm worked up the nerve to go after her. He walked a bit faster and caught up with her before they got to the porch. Both stopped short of the door, and Storm went right in. "Here goes nothing." he said, knocking on the door.
Chris heard a knock at the door, "There's the first one." he said, opening the door. The man saw a young woman, likely still in school age, and an umbreon pokemorph, which he recognized. "Storm, right?" Chirs asked. The umbreon pokemorph simply nodded, and then added, "The girl is with me." Chris nodded and ushered the two in. Carmen and Storm walked into the house and Chris closed the door behind him.
Storm, Carmen and Chris walked into the living room, where Nivi is on the couch. "Sit down where you like." said Chris, taking a seat in a chair. Nivi knew someone would eventually sit by her, so she scooted over to make some room. Storm saw this and whispered to Carmen, "Let's sit on the couch." Carmen nodded and the two took a seat. The couch looked big enough to seat a lot of people. Storm and Nivi's eyes locked for a second as they looked at each other. Wait.... she looks familiar. Must be from the experiments. Storm thought. Nivi was thinking the same, but a bit differently. The umbreon.... don't I know him from somewhere? Odd.... Both Nivi and Storm adverted their gazes from each other and waited for everyone else in an awkward silence.
Anna gasped as she suddenly saw two of the others who'd come to their destination approach the door and knock.
"Look! They're going in," She said, pointing as the door opened and the other people (a girl and what looked like some kind of Umbreon person, Anna noted) were quickly ushered inside.
Rush made a small noise of acknowledgement. He was rubbing circles into him palms with his thumbs, keeping his mind off the aches coming from his wings. They were tucked safely around his close, but the skin from where they burst still felt tender and pained. He didn't know how much he really wanted to do this, go through with it and knock on the door, but he had to say not much. He kind of just wanted to lie down for a while.
Suddenly, though, the Yanmega morph felt himself being tugged, and he looked down and saw, through a thousand different views, Anna tugging him towards the door. "What..what are you doing?" He yelped, stumbling forward and nearly tripping over his long legs.
"Going to the door, what's it look like, silly?" Anna giggled, "You got an invitation to come here, and those guys already did it, so let's do it too!" Rush and almost fell over. Righting himself in her grasp, he didn't take the time to remind her that, yes, he was invited, and technically she wasn't. He doubted that would stop the energetic girl.
Soon, they were at the door of the house, and Anna was already knocking frantically. "Hello? Hellooo!! I have a boy here who got your letterr!" She called. Rush busied himself with adjusting his sunglasses and trying to ignore the headache he felt brewing in the back of his head. He had to admit, he was a little curious as to how this was going to play out.
The man who had admitted the Umbreon Pokemorph to the address had known his name 'Storm' this, Silver figured, went slightly ominously with the named letters. The man at the door had also rather rudely only admitted Storm and his human companion but the guy seemed friendly enough Do we all have to go in pair by pair? Silver thought, that would be a little ridiculous as with all the morphs, who had miraculously arrived with a human each, they formed quite a large collective for the small alleyway. Dag was shuffling his feet nervously, but Silver's ached, he looked her in the eye as another pair went rather hastily up to the door, the human, a young girl, seemed rather agitated... or excited? Silver didn't know, emotions weren't really her thing.
Dag spoke up: "Are we going in or are you..." he looked her up and down and smirked a little as if he had just made a joke "Chicken?" then he snorted a laugh and winked at her. "I'm not a chicken." Silver intoned, coolly and then added "And there's no 'we.'" She felt a tiny bit guilty about saying something like this to the person who had, for all she knew, saved her life, but her guilty was shadowed by the fact that she didn't want Dag to get clingy and start being some sort of limpet stuck to her side all the time.
"I'm not leaving you. You aren't completely healed yet, I don't want you to get hurt or anything." He said. It was a sweet thought but an unnecessary one, she didn't need protecting and she told him so. "Please, Silver, I don't want anything to happen to you." His eyes were big and sad as he pleaded. He looked like he would genuinely worry about her if he left. Silver sighed deeply, "All right, let's join the others." Dag had treated her wounds well, she guessed he'd be useful to her and those big muscles were sure to be helpful too. It couldn't be so bad for him to stick around, could it?
Silver stretched her wings and followed Dag over to the door where the other pair were waiting, her claws clanging on the floor as she walk/hopped. The door opened to admit them.
The pair watched as the others were let in, first the pair with the Umbreon pokemorph, and then the pairs with the Yammega and Skarmory morphs. "No use idling out here, come on, let's go inside," Kyra said as she took the Deino morphs hand and lead her foward to the door. Spite didn't really need all this help getting around but, as long as Kyra was taking her where she wanted to go, Spite had no problem letting Kyra lead her around. In fact it was kind of nice to have a 'seeing-eye-human', as she had affectionately taken to referring to Kyra as, much to Kyra's displeasure.
Kyra knocked on the door loudly a few times, then waited. "Come on, come on, come on, hurry up," Spite mumbled while they waited for a response.
Chris was just trying to find seating arrangements for everyone else who should be coming when he heard frantic knocking and a girl saying, "Hello? Hellooo!! I have a boy here who got your letterr!" Chris rolled his eyes, thinking, And this is why I would've preferred that they come alone. The girl is likely attracting attention in a place like this. He started for the door and opened it, right outside was not 2 but 6 people, 3 pokemorphs and 3 humans. The pokemorphs were a deino, skarmory and yanmega. "Rush, Sadie and Spite i'm guessing. Please come in and do make yourselves at home. We're waiting on only a few more." said Chris, ushering them inside.
Meanwhile, the awkward silence between the other 3 continued. Botm Storm and Nivi had no clue about how they know each other, and Storm's eyes had slid into a jade green. Thankfully, no one had noticed that yet, well not to Storm's knowledge. Nivi had seen it and was puzzled by this. Wait, what happened with his eyes, and why does it seem so familiar? Carmen wanted a decent conversation to start, but couldn't think of a decent topic, but Storm actually spoke first, looking at the growlithe pokemorph. "Who are you?" Nivi was actually glad to have a conversation going at last, and she responded, "I'm Nivian, but I go by Nivi. You? he answered, "Storm." and Carmen stated her name. "Well, it's nice to meet you two. So, how'd you get here?" asked Nivi. Storm and Carmen started sharing their story as the front door opened.
"I'm not alone then." Minus said to himself upon seeing the other Pokémorphs enter the small shack. There seemed to be some non-Pokémorphs approaching too.
"Well, looks like there's a party! Let's go! C'mon!" Clarissa said excitedly. She ran off ahead towards the building and looked back at Minus, who walked almost robotically. The two stood a small distance from another pair.
"Come on, come on, come on, hurry up" the Pokémorph ahead of them mumbled. An odd one. Looked fierce. Powerful. Minus couldn't put his finger on the species of Pokémon, but suspected a Dragon type. The door swung open and voices could be heard inside. Perhaps they were discussing the incident at the lab? Perhaps this was a trap?
"Stay alert." Minus warned Clarissa quietly.
"Why? You'll protect me, right?" Clarissa replied jokingly.
"Uh... they're going in. Should we?"
"Yeah. ...Although I swear I know that guy..." Art murmured, as he and Aya walked towards the open door.
After everyone was inside and settled in some kind of seat (perhaps a precarious one in the case of Aya), Chris looked at each person in his living room intently. All of the morphs were familiar to him, as were some of the humans present. The radio droned in the background, and Chris listened to it carefully, hoping not to hear what he knew was coming...
"... You're wondering why I called you here. All of you know about the explosions at the shack in the woods. Half of you here, know that the shack hid a complex of laboratories, where some... Dramatic experiments took place, originally in the interest of helping mankind. The most relevant of these is the one half of you directly experienced. The original drive behind it was to help children survive diseases that would otherwise kill them. Not just survive, but recover from. Pokemon are hardier than humans, able to deal with, and adapt to, any conditions they're exposed to. The original head scientist, a man named Anton Renwick just wanted to bring these elements to humans, without any harm to either the Pokemon, or the human test subjects. Part way through testing of one of the earlier stabilizing formula, he died, and control transferred to a scientist who had recently joined the project. All anyone knew him by was Professor Del. Then, next thing we knew, the project was no longer privately funded. It had become military. They wanted weapons, and bio-engineered humans with Pokemon abilities met their requirements. Testing became more aggressive. Every other day, the techs, myself included, were told to mix a new stabilizing formula and another neutralizing one. Del wasn't as careful. Many volunteers were killed. But they kept coming. I suspect he told them that they accepted money from the project, so they were obliged to come in when called." Chris paused, as the radio crackled.
"More on the explosion of what is now known to have been a lab experimenting with Pokemon and human research for medical purposes. It is believed that the results of these experiments, called 'Pokehumans' by the only survivor of the event, blew up the laboratory, killing dozens of staff members, several volunteers, and many of their own kind. These creatures are considered extremely dangerous. For the most part, they appear human, although each carries distinctive Pokemon features. If you see one of these 'Pokehumans', do not approach. The police have been equipped with measures to stop these abominations. Please, if you encounter one, call the police immediately." When the report finished, Chris swore rather colorfully.
"Whadit mean we set the explosion? That stupid lovely person Del's the one who did it. Project wasn't going how he wanted it to, so he shut it down." Aya protested, and Chris sighed.
"I know. Believe me. I know. The problem is, as far as they're concerned, the only survivors are Del, and you guys. He's made it so nobody will believe you, think you're lying even. And I'm betting their 'measures' to stop you guys are Lot 26." Without realizing it, Chris winced at the mention of Lot 26.
"'Scuse me, but what's Lot 26?" Nivi asked, and Chris sighed.
"The latest neutralizer that had been created. If no Pokemon DNA is present when injected, all it does is prevent the body accepting the DNA, no harm done. If Pokemon DNA is present... Lot 26 tricks the body into recognizing the invading DNA, and attacking. It... makes the subject's body tear itself apart. It and Lot 27 were made at the same time. Lot 27 was our most successful stabilizer, allowing almost perfect DNA fusion. With a bit of refining, there wouldn't have been the defects, and you all would have been able to choose to appear fully human, while retaining Pokemon traits. But Professor Del got impatient. There was going to be an evaluation soon, and the results weren't good enough. They would have cut the funding, and ruined his reputation forever. So he axed the project. He can blame the explosion on rogue morphs, and blame them on sloppy psychological evaluations. And nobody can question him." Chris said, at first hesitant, then sheepish, almost proud when talking about Lot 27. Then he sounded ashamed.
"What about you? You said you were a lab tech? Were you there when he decided to 'axe the project' as you put it?" Art asked, and Chris smiled wanly.
"I was just a tech. Nobody'll take my word over a full fledged Professor. I'm sorry I called you all here for nothing."
"It's not nothing you stupid git. You called us here to try and save our lives."
"...My reasons aren't that noble. I want retribution for all the lives, and all the knowledge that were lost in that explosion. The project had the potential to advance humans so much, both in survival, and in our interactions with the world. ...and it's gone now. I want Del to pay for that." Chris murmured, and Aya shrugged.
"Reasons are reasons. You called us here, and told us what we're up against. You told us things that are probably so illegal it's not even funny. I remember you from the lab. You treated us morphs with kindness, and you never took part in some of those cruelties if you could avoid them. None of that sounds like nothing, you git."
It was Art who asked the question that was on Nivi, Aya, and even Chris' minds. "So what do we do now with all this knowledge? And before any of you morphs says we humans should butt out, you're getting a firm no from my end. Clearly you need us. And I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not abandoning these people in need."
((Yes, I have Blaze's permission for this stuff. I've been talking to him on IRC and in PM))
"They wouldn't use such a fraile body to cure disease, so I must be a soldier. Bred for combat. But I can barely remember anything from before the explosion. It feels like reaching out at something that is too far to grasp." Minus thought quietly. He was leaning against a wall with his arms crossed and brow furrowed.
"We're criminals in the eyes of the public. Hiding won't help most of us; our features are too strong. If we turn ourselves in we'll be tried for arson and terrorism, lined up against a wall, and shot." Minus spoke. His voice was flat; no inflection to reflect the group's apparently hopeless state.
"It can't be that bad! I mean, there had to be people who skipped work that day, right? Someone called in sick and can help you guys out?" Clarissa chimed in, standing up from her chair. She was being her usual optimistic self.
"What if...what if there's something at the place that exploded that can help us! Paper or...proof! Yeah!"
Anna eagerly dragged Rush inside as soon as the door was opened, and soon after the two were sitting on the couch amongst the others, as their host soon explained to the the reason they'd been gathered.
Rush leaned forward, elbows on his knees, eyes widening behind his sunglasses. "We're getting...blamed..." he said quietly, trying to take it all in. So the constant pain he was in was the result of trying to breed some kind of perfect disease curing body. He gritted his teeth a bit. Obviously that didn't work. He took the time to view the others in the room, eyes catching on the young man leaning against the wall and looking rather deep in thought. Something in his appearance seemed insectoid to Rush, and he almost smiled. Another Bug morph, maybe..?
Anna, meanwhile, frowned deeply. "That's so unfair!" She cried "You guys didn't even do anything! And now they're going to try and kill you?" She was almost red in the face, heavily upset with what she was hearing. She turned her head suddenly, listening to another girl who'd spoke up, suggesting there was maybe proof somewhere to claim the morph's innocence, "Y..yeah! What she said!" Anna said, pointing, "There's gotta be some record somewhere in all that rubble!"
Storm and Carmen heard Minus' words about everyone being lined up against the wall and shot if caught. "That's true, plus if the police found out that the full humans were helping us..." Storm gulped and continued, "The full humans would likely be charged with treason, and then be lined up and shot like us." The umbreon pokemorph was obviously clueless about what to say next, but then got something, he turned to Carmen "Are you sure that you want to continue helping me? I wouldn't want to get you killed." Carmen then realized everything about everything that had been said. "And I think that goes for all the humans, we shouldn't force them to come along. This is dangerous for everyone here, but especially them." Storm said. Carmen thought about this then said, "Are you saying the we can't handle ourselves?" she asked, very slightly annoyed. However, she continued, "This room could be bugged, although not likely, plus he's told us everything already. I'm sure I want to to this."
Hearing the other's words was daunting for Dag, he didn't want to believe that all these 'pokehumans' even Silver who had been injured and weak when he found her, would be responsible for their own destruction. Looking around at the other 'subjects,' he wondered how many of them had perished in the rubble and ruin. He knew in that moment that whether Silver liked it or not, he would stay and support this group in whatever they came up against because the accusatory party were wrong, Dag stood with the innocent party.
Silver's face remained unreadable, she was clearly a very passive person as she had never shown Dag much regard but he could sense that underneath her hardened exterior was a human as emotional as any other human. Maybe it was her experience in the lab or her steel typing, but something made her detach her emotions from her actions. "I'm also certain that supporting you guys" he gestured to the collective "is the right thing to do." He smiled at Silver. The pair of them were stood at the edge of the room, Silver's posture was terse. She said nothing.
Kyra sat quietly and listened to Chris' explanation of what was happening. This all sounded dangerous and she wanted no part of it."Speak for yourself. The only reason I came this far was to make sure my efforts in helping this girl earlier were not a complete waste. I'm sure you are all more the capable of taking care of her from now on, so I'll just leave you all alone and get back to my own life. Don't worry, I won't turn any of you in." she said as she got up to leave. She began to head for the door, until she felt something tug at her sleeve.
"No!" Spite yelled as she pulled Kyra back down to her seat.
Kyra tried to pull her arm free from the little Dragon type's strong grip, but Spite refused to let go. She glared at the Deino morph, looking straight into where she assumed her eyes were. Upon closer inspection, she actually could partially see Spites's eyes through her thick hair. They looked almost like a Hydreion's eyes, but a little lighter, larger, and... fearful? Was Spite afraid? Well, the poor girl did go through a lot today, and who wouldn't be afraid upon learning what they had learned? Kyra felt a small pang of guilt for trying to abandon the young girl. Her expression changed from one of annoyance to one of apology. It was then that she remembered Spite was blind and her own expressions meant nothing. Kyra sighed, "Fine, I'll stay." Spite grinned.
Kyra stood up again, or tried at least, Spite was still holding on to her sleeve, causing Kyra to stumble backward and fall back down to her seat. "You can let go now," she said as she gently pulled Spites hand from her sleeve. Spite obliged. Kyra walked over to where one of the other girls, Anna, was pointing. "If you don't mind, I think I'll try and look for anything here that may help," she said while looking at their host, Chris.
Carmen smiled, "Looks like i'm your problem." she said. "Depends on your definition of problem." Storm said. Then came the situation with Spite and Kyra. The little dragon pokemorph practically, scratch that, actually begged for her to stay. Kyra relented. "Well, looks like that decided." Said the umbreon pokemorph, then he turned to Anna, Clarissa and Art. "How about you lot? Will you stay with us?" Storm asked.
Meanwhile, Carmen heard Kyra say she was going to look for something useful. "Could I help?" she asked.
"I've said my bit. I'm staying. No matter what. None of you deserve to die for what's been done to you. And the only way to prevent that is to disprove Del." Art shrugged.
Aya meanwhile was following the conversation involving the human girls. "They're right. If we want evidence, we'll need to search the ruins. ...But there's one problem. A group of people rummaging through what is probably a police, or even military investigation site is gonna cause problems. Especially if any of us go with you."
"...maybe not. Hey, can I use your phone?" Art said, directing the question at Chris.
"Sure. It's on the wall in the kitchen." Chris murmured, biting his lip in thought.
"Thanks." Art nodded, then stepped into the kitchen. For a few minutes furious arguing could be heard. Then Art came out of the kitchen, smiling grimly. "We've got an hour. Two conditions though. Only five people can go. Two of those need to be myself and you." Art pointed at Chris. "And, anything significant we find, we need to give to Inspector Williams. But we've got an hour at the site. Starting in half an hour to give us time to get there. So who's staying, and who's going?"
"To be honest, we should have the humans outnumber the pokemorphs because we'll likely have to go through a number of people, well if any pokemorphs go. If so, they should be the most fit of the group." Storm said. "I'm no tactician, but that seems to be a wise thing to do." Carmen seemed to agree. "However, the question is, who's the most fit of us?"
Anna folded her arms, puffing out her chest, "I'll stay with you guys as long as I need! You guys don't deserve to treated like...criminals! It's awful!" She cried, nodding to drive home her point and determination. Rush glanced at her and had to smile a little at her strong will. Things were sounding pretty grim for him and the other Morphs, so support was really nice.
When Art went and came back a few moments later explaining only five people could go investigate the ruins of the laboratory. He sat down and let out a heavy sigh, "Well, count me out of that." He remarked, "With my luck I'd just get a headache even trying to lift any heavy rubble." He rubbed his temples as he spoke, "Also, I'm not the most inconspicuous looking of us." He flicked his sunglasses down, blinking his compound eyes.
Anna pursed her lips and nodded at her new Yanmega morph friend, "Well, if Art and Chris are going, that's two right there." She looked around, "Maybe I'll stay here? Especially if Rush is going to stay...'Sides, there's a lot of us, so us who hang back won't be too lonely!"
"I think I can make it. The only thing really wrong with me is the fact my arms are cut up a bit. Other than that, I'm good." Storm said, standing up. "Storm, should I stay back?" Carmen asked. Storm nodded and added, "I think you'd be of better use here at the moment." The girl nodded. Chris then said, "Then we only need two more. The rest of us should likely stay behind and prepare for whatever comes. So, who else is coming?"
Silver couldn't decide whether she wanted to go and search the rubble or not. One the one hand, she could lift heavy objects but then, so could Dag. On the other hand, she didn't know if she could cope out there with the rubble, it would be a haunting experience and one that she didn't particularly care to involve herself with. She spoke up for herself and Dag, guessing that he would want to go "I'm sure Dag is strong enough to help out, aren't you, Dag?" He nodded eagerly. "Anyway, I'm sure he'd be more covert than some girl with metal wings and claws protruding from her body... what am I supposed to do about these?" She gestured to her feet. They really did hurt on more solid ground.
Minus stepped forward. His papery wings made a soft rustling sound and he moved closer to the others.
"I'll go. We'll need a scout to watch our backs. We also need to plan to cover our weaknesses." Minus said. "I can conceal my wings with a jacket and I have no emotional investment in the building."
"Are you sure you want to go back?" Clarissa asked.
"I'll be fine."
Clarissa paused to consider. She was still uneasy about this whole "the Pokémorphs are wanted criminals" business. She knew they were inoccent: after all why would they blow up a building while still inside? "Don't do anything brave." Clarissa told Minus. She was concerned, but took comfort in knowing that he'd be going with others. "Do we have anything that can help us keep in touch? Headsets, radio receiver, something like that? I have a cell phone. We should exchange numbers so we can call each other if something happens." Clarissa added.
((sniped by Mac. Hold on, I'll try to fix this.))
"I think I'd be of more use here at the moment," Kyra stated as she wrote something on a small strip of paper, "But it might be a good idea for us to exchange numbers in order to keep contact. I realize there are a lot of potential problems with keeping contact via cell phone, but for now it should be safe. Anyway, here's mine," she placed the piece of paper on a table where everyone could see.
Spite, meanwhile, was feeling annoyed. She wanted to go with the others, but she realized she probably wouldn't be able to help much. Frustrated by this, she decided to volunteer anyway, "I'll go. I may not be able to look for anything useful, but there's a lot of heavy rubble that will be in your way, and I'm really strong and could move it for you."
Chris looked at the volunteers, then said, "That's six people who want to go, so sorry Spi-" Storm cut him off to say, "Well then, I'll stay behind." Chris was surprised by this and said, "Storm, a moment?" Storm and Chris went into another room and discussed under hushed voices. The conversation went something like this ((everyone else cannot hear the whole thing, maybe some snippets)), "Why let the dragon go? She's blind!" Storm retaliated, "Yes, however, with the absence one sense, the others are heightened, which can be very useful. Plus, she's strong." Chris was skeptical, "Yes, but we have Dag for that." he said. Storm thought for a moment, then added "True, but the dragon could hear trouble coming from a mile away, plus what if Dag needs help? Everyone else is more valuable, the shedinja has a lot of advantages, and Dag's strength is uncanny. I have nothing to offer when looking at that."
Meanwhile, Carmen had left her phone number on the table and started poking around to see if anything was useful. Then Silver spoke and asked what she should do about her talons. Carmen looked around downstairs and found a pair of boots that seemed to be the right size, a bit worn, but they seemed to still be functional. Carmen took them and walked over to Silver. "Try these." said Carmen, handing the boots to the skarmory pokemorph.
Storm walked out, soon a slightly irritated Chris walked out. The human didn't like it, but Storm had a point. "Alright, Art, Dag, Minus, Spite and I will be going to the lab."
Silver looked up as Carmen handed her some boots, "Thanks." she said, as close to cordial as she could muster. It wasn't her fault she was almost a sociopath, she hid them for her own safety although she also felt that the morphing had dulled them somewhat too, she couldn't be sure. Silver pulled the black boots over her claws. They fit well and the insides were made from soft material that her claws fell comfortably into. "Ahh, that's so much better!"
In this time, Chris and Storm had had a short conversation elsewhere although Dag had heard his own name mentioned faintly. When they'd returned, Chris revealed the line up for the excursion to the ruins. His name was included so he sprang forwards and walked to join Chris. "Ready when you are."
