also some more official art for steven for those who are in to that sort of thing
The corocoro scan apparently says that Steven Stone is the champion.
Rejoice! I prefer him as champion over Wallace tbh.
I dunno about anyone else, but I personally couldn't think of a better design for Mega Metagross than this. Then again, I've always liked Metang better, so seeing that Mega Metagross doubles as, I dunno, a Giga Metang, well, I might consider using this Mega myself. (That's, of course, assuming we don't get Mega Hariyama. Keeping my fingers crossed that we do though!)
Ahh it looks cool.

doing the lord's work bless you!
Uuuh Megagross is cool I guess? I don't particularly care for Metagross anyway so I'm fairly indifferent to it.
It looks pretty cool, and I'm kinda interested to see what they do with it to make it good.
Atm, it's two abilities are VERY meh. Clear Body is just inferior to Defiant. And light metal is so situational it's not even funny, so I'd hope it's mega could improve on that. Contextually, Levitate seems like a good option that would also benefit it in battles quite a lot. Iron Fist would be very nice too, not too farfetch'd either.
I'd like to see it lose the psychic typing in favour of Dark, but that's because I always see Metagross as a little bit evil xD
Edit: not sure how reliable this site is, but apparently it has tough claws (http://pokejungle.net/2014/07/10/august-corocoro-scans-leaking/)
That would be very nice for it, giving it a life orb boost (?) on it's main attacks (Zen Headbutt, Meteor Mash, Elemental Punches etc.)

Don't forget bullet punch. It could potentially outdo scizor at it's own niche.

That's true, I completely forgot about Bullet Punch!
Looking at metagross's stats (80/135/130/95/90/70) I wouldn't be surprised to see attack reach as high as 170, and defence to be around the same. With 170 base attack and effectively a life orb boost (I think tough claws is just over, actually?) he would be very difficult to switch into!
Bold max/max Venusaur takes 79.6% minimum from 170 attack 252+ Tough Claws zen headbutt, which is pretty good for what is one of the bulkiest pokemon around atm.
252/4 TTar is 2HKOd by bullet punch (and obviously, by extension, OHKOd by meteor mash)
Possibly won't be amazing, but that would certainly push it back up to OU, whichd be cool ^^
Told you all that Steven would most likely have a Mega Metagross rather than a Charizard!
That...was me who said the Charizard thing...eheheh, sorry.

Rather ironic coming from a Steven fan! :P
I liked Aggron and Claydol better tbh!

Must of sucked when he left you a Beldum then. XD
On the topic of "Which of Steven Stone's Pokemon do we want the most?" I'm probably gonna have to go with Skarmory. I haven't used one seriously on my team since Pokemon Silver, but it'd be so cool to own Steven's Skarmory.
I'm interested more in what kind of Round 2 Team Steven will have, if they have Round 2 teams in this game. What kind of multi gen Steels will take his fancy? ;)

I guess aegislash is a possibility. As a son of a wealthy CEO, Empoleon might not be too much of a stretch, since they're both sort of upper class characters. But he does seem pretty in to fossils as well so maybe that's another possibility.
Bastiodon will definitely be in Steven's second line up since it is a Rock/Steel (I may have mixed up the proper order) type. Aegislash will most likely join in as well as Ferrothorn. I have always seen him having one and it being a Spiker. I can also see Steven owning a Steelix and perhaps a Bisharp.
^ But then he'd have to lose the rest of his team, excluding Metagross :(
I'd hope he keeps a very similar line-up to his old one. Maybe he'll change his line-up to take in the new Pokémon. So he could have his old team first time round, but then he updates it to accomodate new ones in the second round.
^That is exactly what I meant! In rematches, Steven would have different Pokemon than before. Metagross would be one of the ones to remain consistant.
new info today: Megameta gets a big speed boost with other boosts to attacks and defenses.
