So as it's Shrove Tuesday, I thought it was probably worth making a topic about pancakes. Talk about recipes, toppings, gluten-free recipes, egg-free recipes, etc...
I'm mostly a lemon and sugar person (though ice cream's cool too) - I always find syrup and chocolate spread too heavy. In terms of savoury pancakes it's just ham and cheese for me as all the recipes I've found for other stuff seem to involve condiments or creme fraiche that I won't eat.
Wait there's another way to eat pancakes besides covering them with butter and maple syrup?
I usually have mine with either blueberries or chocolate chips, or I add some vanilla extract to the batter. Then I douse it in maple syrup, the best kind of maple syrup being the super expensive made-in-nh syrup.
maple syrup or lemon&sugar hmm...
I'll probably just end up having both aha :p
i literally just shove them in my mouth. just shove the pancake straight in your mouth just shove it straight
Cookie spread is nice with pancakes. But then again, cookie spread could make most things nice(r).
A guy in Tesco this morning looked realy upset that there weren't any pre-made pancakes left in stock, only the mix. Felt so bad for him.
I probs won't be having any =[
I've had so many now that my main organs are failing. This could be due to my obsession with cocktail based pancakes.

I just realized english pancakes are waaay different from American pancakes. I was confused about savory pancakes until I realized you guys were talking about what we call crepes over here.
^ yeah I think we call crepes pancakes?? Scottish pancakes are similar to the American ones but even then there's different types, pretty confusing lmao
Made some with my little brother this morning, some little ones and a few big ones, obviously had lots of sugar and golden syrup! They were crepey ones, just used the ready mixed stuff. Haven't made proper scotch pancakes for ages :(
Glad I wasn't working today tbh I'd be crying over the amount of pancakes made or angry customers whining about how there's none left lmao
If I was making pancakes I'd just make crepes instead actually
Mostly, I throw in chocolate chips, cinnamon and vanilla extract into your average batter. Tastes awesome.
Really needs to have Nutella or it's a kind of lame pancake, it's like having a rhino without it's tusk/horn thing - ugly.
Always have mine with Nutella, lemon and sugar, definitely the best.
(Also English pancakes =/= to crepes, crepes are cooked differently. English pancakes are the exact same as American ones just without the raising agent, and usually spread out in a thinner layer to begin with.)
^May I ask why you love nutella so much? I'm not a fan, I mean it's ok, but why do you like it so much?
Had delicous pancakes for tea today, I had white choc chips, orange juice, lemon juice, sugar and golden syrup on mine <3
I would have to say pancakes are my breakfast. I mean, literally my breakfast. I eat it more times than I eat anything else. I cant stand store-bought frozen pancakes so I buy them at my college instead. They are $1.09 and I usually get three. :) The cook really knows what he's doing there and me and him are friends. :) I like mine plain or with chocolate chips.
It was pancake day yesterday?
Must have créped up on me...
I'm gonna have some tomorrow I think. Because why dedicate just the one day to pancakes? Have them whenever you want!

Tea as in the meal, not the drink. It's another word for dinner.
