What it says above.
Gen 1 is stupid! There's some pokemon that can learn cut (some examples, nidoking and rattata) but are refusing to learn it.
Can someone make a list of all pokemon that can learn cut in blue?
Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Beedrill, Sandshrew, Sandslash, Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Paras, Parasect, Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victreebel, Tentacool, Tentacruel, Farfetch'd, Krabby, Kingler, Lickitung, Tangela, Scyther, Pinsir, Mew.
Diglett and Dugtrio can learn it in Yellow too.
To be honest, i'm upset that meowth and persian can't learn cut.

I'm upset that a lot of things can't learn cut.
Should I have a sandshrew or a Beedrill?
My team is
Blastoise, Nidorina, zapdos, Chansey and cubone.
Beedrill offers more type coverage considering you already have 2 ground types in (what will eventually be) Marowak and Nidoqueen, so a Sandslash/Sandshrew doesn't offer much to your team type wise. Beedrill can work well to help negate Psychic types in Gen 1 with Pin Missile, so I'd go with that I think.

OK:
1) I thought Cubone was already a ground type
2) Unless I really feel like it (in this case, I don't!) I don't evolve Nidorina, because Nidorina is one of my favourites!
Cubone is a ground type, I'm just saying eventually you'll evolve it. But still, you already have 1 ground type in Cubone/Marowak so adding a Sandshrew/Sandslash isn't very beneficial in terms of type coverage. At the end of the day, it's your team though, so pick whichever one you want.
Most of my team in emerald is weak to ice! LOL!
