There is a button next to the home button that says chat. What does that do?
That brings you to our IRC channel, so it's basically a live chatroom with people from the site who are in that channel at the same time. It's not used too much anymore, but if you check you might find your favorite member there, Lord Raven :)
So do I have to sign up for anything, or is it free to use?
It's free! When you click on it, type in your name, and then hit join and you're in. You shouldn't need to download anything except basic programs you should have already, like Java.
Is it like you can see and/or talk to them, or is it something else?
It's just a text chat. No video or sound. Not too much happening right now. The chat could use another revival...

I would use IRC but for some reason it runs slower than everything else on my comp (which is slow enough already). It's too old and crappy to really be worth cleaning up so i'm trying to get a job and upgrade.

people, when you come in just say "Raven" or something
if I don't respond that means I'm not there, but most of the time I'm not paying attention to that tab because I actually moderate a few other chats that are much bigger
