Title: Hunting Latios
Post by: The name master on May 20, 2016, 08:30
yesterday, I beat Pokémon Ruby, and now, I can FINALLY find Latios! I haven't had any luck so far. It's so annoying! Everytime I encounter a blue pokemon (EG Tentacool) It makes me think for a second that it's Latios. Then I get disappointed. I've tried doing that thing with the repels. Nothing. I'm searching in the little bit of water west of mauville (where I found Latias in Emerald) Haven't found him yet. I found Latias within five minutes (or less) When I (eventually) find Latios, I have a master ball ready for him! Gonna nickname him Eon.

Hope I find him soon!  :)

I don't remember ever actually running into the Latis in all the times I played Sapphire... does the wild encounter music change like it does with Crystal and D/P/Pt? If so, you can just close your eyes and wait for that XD

Normal "wild" pokemon battle music plays when encountering either Latias or Latios.

My team for Ruby is Swampert, Mightyena, Swellow, Groudon and Shiftry (until I get Latios, I have a Dusclops)

I find it's best to go to a route that you can quickly go forward and back, when looking for Latios/Latias. Just pop in the grass and if doesn't appear, just leave the route and go back and try again. Good luck :)

That's what I did. I did it on the route north of Slateport, used a repel so no other pokemon will appear, get on my bike, go in the tall grass and hop on the spot. If Latios doesn't appear, just go in the building leading to the cycling road thing and come back out and repeat. When the repel wears off, just use another one!

Can't you check its location in the pokedex? I seem to remember that working back when I was first playing Sapphire, but tbf I'm not sure it ever helped all that much.

You actually have to encounter latios for that to work. And I've got a master ball anyway.
