I just thought. Why does Mario never take yoshi into castles (particularly in super Mario world) or ghost houses?
Because you wouldn't enter a house on a horse
Because the devs didn't want to design every level around yoshi. Also, because a dinosaur would probably mess up the carpets and furniture.
I did a Google search "why isn't yoshi allowed in the castle" but it didn't have anything. There was a video, but that doesn't explain anything.
My brother always told me that Yoshi is too afraid to enter castles and ghost houses.
The fact that yoshi can't go in castles leaves some questions unanswered. One of them is can yoshi eat Mechakoopas?

hilariously berwick saga (think fire emblem but weirder and for the PS2) doesnt allow you to visit houses unless you dismount
also FE3/5/berwick/tear ring saga require you to dismount indoors
Yoshi, though he can play baseball and compete in olympic sports, apparently isn't housebroken.
Dorkly's has a video on YouTube that answers this question!
^Really? Because I feel like I explained it quite nicely.
I played super Mario advance 2 (a remake of super Mario world for the GBA) and I put codes in to make yoshi appear in the item reserve box. So by pressing select, a yoshi appears. I don't know weither it was the codes that weren't perfect, or weither this actually what happens, but yoshi's tongue appears glitched. It appears as a solid red block. Maybe because either:
1) the developers were to lazy to fix this
OR:
2) the developers couldn't work out how to fix this
They decided to leave yoshi out of Castle levels.
EDIT: Yoshi cannot eat Mechakoopas!
