You know the drill.
Adrenaline
Raises Attack, Sp. Attack, and Speed in a pinch for three turns. No longer usable after switching out.
Retreat
Negates blocking moves & abilities. (Shadow Tag, Arena Trap, Block, Mean Look, Fire Spin, etc.)
Point-Blank
Fights up close and doubles Sp. Attack. (like Pure Power & Huge Power)
Panic
Raises Attack when confused.
-
Hmm.......
Amythest
Raises the power of Ice-Type moves when HP is less than 1/3. (Like Overgrow, Blaze, and Torrent)
Threshold
Sharply raises Attack when hit by a Rock-Type, Fighting-Type, or Steel-Type Physical move.
-
No letback
A Pokémon's attack and special attack is increased when not holding an item.
Meh, I will think of more soon. :p
-
I've got more!
Target
Super-Effective moves against your opponent get a higher critical hit ratio.
-
Take Turns
All Pokémon on the field move in a different order each turn.
In single battles, the faster Pokémon moves first the first turn, then the slower Pokémon moves first next turn, etc.
In double battles, goes 1-2-3-4, then 2-3-4-1, etc.
-
End of Days
All Pokémon on the field will faint after 5 turns.
-
Echo Voice
Voice and sound moves' accuracy increase by 1/2.
This would be very helpful on Pokémon like Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff, because (if I did my math right) this would raise Sing's accuracy to 82.5%. It's not perfect, but it's a significant enough change to make Sing remotely useful. More accurate than a standard Hypnosis, at any rate.
-
Sympathy
In double battles, damage taken by any Pokemon is cut in half - one half to the attacked Pokemon, one half to it's partner.
-
Distraction
In double battles, moves that hit more than one Pokémon now only hit Pokémon with this ability. Target is random if more than one Pokémon with this ability is on the field.
Instinct
Automatically uses a super-effective move when given the chance.
Pull Through
Attack does not drop when burned, nor does Speed drop when paralyzed.
-
Sweet Aroma
Grass Types Of The Opposite Gender Will Not Attack This Pokémon.
Leaf Shield
Raises Def and Sp. Def In Strong Sunlight. (50%)
Dark Power
Doubles Attack. Attack Is Halved If Pokémon Gets Low On Health. (Half and Below)
-
Friendly Fire
In double battles, if a move hits your team mate, it does double the damage. (Earthquake, Surf, etc)
-
Dragon Fury
Powers Up dragon moves when HP is low.
-
Sparks
This Pokemon's Speed increases when it is hit by a Steel type attack.
^Only certain steel types would have this (Steel hits steel = sparks?) and so it wouldn't be all that broken.
Photosensitive
This Pokemon receives damage when Sunny Day is in effect, but the accuracy of its moves are increased by 50%.
Chameleon
This Pokemon gains STAB on moves that share the same type as the attack it was last hit by - e.g. if Keckleon is hit by a Fire type attack, its Fire type attacks will do much damage.
-
Revitalize
Attack and Sp. Attack increase when cured of a status.
Power Short
Immune to Electric-type moves.
-
Pre-emptive Strike
When the foe uses an attack that's super effective, this Pokemon moves before it.
-
Pwn
Allows you to OHKO Pokemon easier.
And on a serious note:
Mist Vapour
Increases the power of Ice attacks when HP is less than 33%.
-
My ability only dog-like PKMN and canidae member PKMN can have. It's called Wild Nature. It allows the user to be the strongest and wildest PKMN in battle. Therefore,if you tell it to do one move,It'll combine 2 moves in 1 and sometimes learn a different move. Then it strikes the foe and in one hit,the foe is knocked out! I wish I had a PKMN like that.....
-
Wonderfaint
Who can learn it: Shedninja (chances of getting this ability is the same as a first encounter wild shiny), The Light (future legendary pokemon idea)
Description: After 35 turns of not being hit due to Wonderguard, the opponents whole team fits.
-
No Restraint
Stats cannot be lowered under any circumstamces.
-
Wonderfaint
Who can learn it: Shedninja (chances of getting this ability is the same as a first encounter wild shiny), The Light (future legendary pokemon idea)
Description: After 35 turns of not being hit due to Wonderguard, the opponents whole team fits.
IF it has Wonderfaint, then it doesn't have Wonder Guard.
-
IF it has Wonderfaint, then it doesn't have Wonder Guard.
BUT wonderfaint has a combination of wonderguard and the faint ability.
-
Loud Call
When a sound-based move is used, there is a 1/100 chance of another Pokémon joining the battle.
(only works when there is an empty slot in your team)
Trainer's Pet
When this Pokémon is holding a Poké ball of any kind, the opponent's defence will fall greatly.
BitTorrent
Porygon, Porygon2 or Porygon-Z can use a duplicate of any item in your bag. May use a duplicate-TM if there is an empty attack slot.
Under-Pressure
(Clefairy, Clefable, Deoxys, Magnezone, Geodude)
This Pokémon's attack is halved, but it's special attack and speed doubles when battling under-water.
-
Sharp Power
If the opponent is hit by a phisycal attack its power is rose by x0.5
-
Loudspeak
Used by: Chingling, Chimecho, Loudred and Exploud.
Negates the effect of Soundproof.
-
BUT wonderfaint has a combination of wonderguard and the faint ability.
Then specify next time.

-
Haywire
In double battles, if your partner is to be confused by any means (either through an enemy's move or from a move such as Thrash, etc) this Pokémon becomes confused instead.
Dream Catcher
All Psychic-type attacks are drawn to this Pokémon in double battles (similar effect to Lightningrod)
Ignorance
Psychic-type attacks do not affect this Pokémon.
Willpower
Has a 1/3 chance of resisting being knocked out by an attack.
Vaccuum
Wind-based attacks recover 1/4 life instead of damaging this Pokémon.
Romantic
This Pokémon's stats gain a slight boost if your parter is of the opposite gender. (Luvdisc could really use this lol)
-
Disbeliever
Psychic and Ghost attacks do not affect this Pokemon.
-
Redemption
Recovers HP by 1/12s each turn by sacrificing on PP from a random move.
-
Sleight of Hand
At the start of the battle, reduces the PP of one random move of any random Pokémon on the field to 0 (even, possibly, the partner Pokémon in a double battle)
Avenger
If the Pokémon is infatuated with another Pokémon, and the other Pokémon faints, the infatuated Pokémon's Attack and Special Attack will sharply raise.
-
Dumbfounded
If the user completely runs out of PP (for all 4 moves) the opponent will automatically faint.
Scaredy Cat
When the users HP is critical it will automatically switch out with another pokemon (The switched pokemon will also be able to attack that turn).
Accident Prone
The user is more likely to become poisoned, paralyzed, burned, confused, ect. but will increase the users speed, defense and attack each turn.
-
Malice
Increases the power of Ghost type moves when not holding an item.
-
Neutron: This Ablity is only on Electric types. When hit by a ground, water or electric move the opponint gets a static afect depending on the type.
Ground: Slp
Water:FRZ
Electric: DUH!!
Also in a Dub. Battle if a partner has Proton ability, they get 2X sp.Att-def spd and HP.
Proton:This ablity can only be on Electric types. When hit by (above types) they get a standy problem due to type
Ground: 70% flinch rate from moves hit
Water:cofused
Electric: Iffatuate
Also if in dub. Battle with Neutron haver, Att. def. spd and HP are raised.
If theise two fight, Their attacks due 2X damege due to the fact that Neutrons and protons attract each other the moves velocity is higher so the collision momentum the also higher( 9th grade physics in a 7th grader's mind
-
I really hope you mean electrons and protons .__.
Sleepwalker
Moves can be used freely while sleeping.
Neutrality
All moves hit for neutral damage and immunities are ignored.
-
Inferno Motor Drive
Like Electivire's Motor Drive, but for Fire types like Magmortar.
-
Force Field
The pokemon cannot be effected by physical attacks.
Hypnotise
When sent into battle, the opponent's pokemon go to sleep.
-
Clear Vision
This Pokemon does not lose accuracy in fog.
Sharp Eyes
Negates evasion.
-

-
Magma Claw
Raises the critical rate of physical fire type moves.

-
Furnace
Whenever Rock, Steel, or Fire attacks are used on this Pokemon, its speed increases and the power of Fire attacks doubles. However, if a Water attack is used on this Pokemon its speed decreases and the power of Fire attacks halves.
-
Furnace
Whenever Rock, Steel, or Fire attacks are used on this Pokemon, its speed increases and the power of Fire attacks doubles. However, if a Water attack is used on this Pokemon its speed decreases and the power of Fire attacks halves.
i want this
Repulsive
Like the opposite of cute charm. When a pokemon with Repulsive goes up against an opponent, the opponents accuracy is lowered until either pokemon is switched out or fainted.
-
Fly Trap
Bug-type Pokémon cannot switch out when this Pokémon is in play, nor can wild Bugs escape. (Think "Magnet Pull" but for Bug-types)
Dragon Veil
Whenever a Dragon-type attack hits this Pokémon, both its Attack and Sp.ATK rise one level.
(You'd THINK this'd be overpowered, but consider most Dragons can go down with Ice Beam, anyway, and Dragon-type offensive moves are rarely used against anything but other Dragons. LAWL)
And, because I'm in a rather silly mood:
MUHED
When this Pokémon faints, the least effective/a random non-damaging move of each the other Pokemon in play is replaced with THUNDERWAVE. If a Pokémon already has Thunderwave on it, that Pokémon's life is recovered by half.
-
Invert Field
Super-effective moves are made not very effective, while not-very-effective moves are made super effective.
Power Store
Moves gain a slight boost every 2 turns they are not used.
Corrupt
Dark-type moves are boosted if an item is stolen from the opponent.
Chivalry
An ability found only on male-only Pokémon. Allows female Pokémon to move first.

Ground Pulse
Damages the foe when Digging.
-
Congradulate
When a Pokémon with Congradulate faints, the opponent is confused.
-
The following ability is exclusive to Mankey qand Primeape only:
Primate Panic
If the user knows Thrash, PP is doubled.
-
Abyss Master - Dark attacks do x2 damage than normal.
Mental thought - Psychic attacks do x2 damage.
-
Super Evasion- Upon being sent into a battle, the pokemon's evasion rises to the highest level.
-
Sixth sense
Lets the pokemon attack ghost types with normal and fighting type moves
-
Akira
Master Akira's unique ability, has several effects.
1) Raises Akira's Evasion to the highest level, bonus not baton passable.
2) Makes sleep-inducing moves, i.e. hypnosis, rest, etc., last twice as long
3) Causes Akira to automatically faint after being active for eight turns straight.
4) increases the power of dark and psychic moves by 50%, as if it were a STAB bonus.
-
Hailing Heal- when it hails, HP is restored. When its in Sandstorm HP decreases.
-
Indescribably Horrible
Upon being sent into battle, the opponent's pokemon automatically switch out, to be replaced by another pokemon on the opponent's team randomly determined. If there are no pokemon left to switch to, then the opponents Atk and SPAtk are both cut.
-
Radiation Beam
(Muk and Grimer)
When this Pokémon is hit by a physical move, the opponent may take damage. Has a 1/5 chance of causing paralyses and hair loss.
-
Soul Devouerer
Only dark types can have this ability
It automatically makes ghost types faint when the come out!
-
SUNIGHT
Opponent has more chance of missing. User always goes first.
(the reason its called Sunight is that it can only be used in the day)
-
Furnace
When hit by a rock or fire type move, take no damage and have speed increase.
Might be too powerful though, I mean, an ability providing you with 2 extra immunities.
(Though wonder guard is even more powerful)
-
Newbie's armor
Pokemon under lvl. seven have their attack and defense points raised to full extent for two moves.
-
Spasm
Pokemon special attack is increased but at the cost of accuraccy
Flattering
Pokemon special attack is increased of same gender decreased of different gender
Heat tan
Restores hp in sunny weather lowers hp in rain
-
"Adapt"
Pokemon sits idle for one turn in weather conditions in order to negate the effects of it.
-
Charge Skip
When you use an attack that makes the pokemon recharge (for ex. Hyper Beam), its ability, Charge Skip, will make it not skip a turn ;D
-
Endurance
The user cannot be OHKOed. Damage Causing Status Problems are twice as powerful, though.
-
Failsafe.
The users Explosion and Self-destruct moves leave 1HP as well as hitting Ghost types.
-
^ CHEAP
Lucky Roll:
All effects determined by chance have a double chance of occurring (eg. Paralysis, Confusion, Ancientpower, basically any "percent" besides accuracy)
Rhythmic:
Repeated attacks boost power by 1/10th the original power each turn. Maxes out at fifth turn. (eg. Metal Claw goes 50, 55, 60, 65, 70.)
Short Temper:
If your attack misses, your Attack goes up one stage. If opponent misses you, Defense goes down one stage.
-
((I agree.))
What's the difference between Lucky Roll and Serene Grace?
I think Rhythmic is a little to weak.
Short temper is interesting.
A new ability I'm working on for a fakemon. The idea is that the pokemon's body is so cold, that ice quickly forms around it's body, and the ice acts as a shield.
Ice generation
Each turn, the user's defense and special defense increase.
-
Weakling Absorb- Heals HP when it uses a move that it is good against.
-
Flash Freeze
To be used by Ice type pokemon. When a water type attack is used against it, the pokemon with this ability freezes the water and uses the frozen water to power up it's ice-type moves.
-
Terror
Causes opponent's status changes to reset.
Sheer Terror
Cases Paralysis in non-Ghost type opponents
Inner Turmoil
Self destructive moves do not hit user.
First Impression
Causes opponent to flinch first turn.
Stalwart
Status changes are reset after second turn.
Two Faced
Heals opponent for 1/8 HP and then confuses and paralyzes.
Checkmate
Super Effective moves become One Hit KO's.
-
Cat fight
if you are a Skitty or a Glameow the attack goes up
-
Unfair
^Why didn't that apply for Meowth or the evos?
Sharp fangs
All biting attacks become more powerful. (15%)
-
Inner Flame
All Special attacks become 10% more powerful.
-
Resonance Frequency
Soundbased moves have a 10% chance of causing Paralysis (including any other effects).
Tycoon
10% monetary winnings (on top of Amulet Coin, etc.). 'Payday' output is multiplyied by 10.
Tempo Watch
'Metronome' +30% chance of using super-effective attacks against opponent. (If Sableye or Spiritomb is opponent, +30% chance of using status moves.)
Comatose
Dream Eater and Nightmare have 5% less power but opponent sleeps for longer.
Snore has 5% more power, but you sleep for longer.
-
Winning Instinct
When there is only one Pokemon left, Attack, Speed and Special Attack doubles.
Suicidal Blast
If an attack ends up killing the Pokemon that used it (e.g. Explosion, or Take Down while on 1HP) then the strength of that attack is doubled (e.g. Explosion goes from 250 to 500)
-
Suicidal Blast
If an attack ends up killing the Pokemon that used it (e.g. Explosion, or Take Down while on 1HP) then the strength of that attack is doubled (e.g. Explosion goes from 250 to 500)
That would be really broken with Explosion. When you use Explosion it halves the opponents defense during the attack, so imagine how painful it would be? D:
-
Monotone
- Sound-based attacks do only 50% the damage, but have a 60% chance of making the opponent fall asleep
Lucky
- Moves have 20% more chance of hitting, and non-effective moves have a 10% chance instead (e.g. Ground on Ghost)
Charisma
- Sound-based attacks do twice the damage, but have a 60% chance of increasing the opponent's attack and speed greatly
-
First Strike - The Pokemon is always the first one to attack at the start of a battle.
Last Thoughts - When the pokemon is knocked out, all of the oppenent's stats sharply fall.
Double KO - If the pokemon is hit by a OHKO move, the foe also faints.
Independent - The pokemon is unffected by Perish Song or Destiny Bond.
Icy Skin - May freeze the foe on contact.
-
Flash Flood
All Water Type Attacks do 50% more damage. The user takes 50% more damage to all Grass or Electric Attacks.
-
Sudden Death - When the pokemon is in red HP, the opponent's HP is reduced to the same as yours.
Yeah, that would be an uber level ability. It would be tough to beat.
-
Yeah, that would be an uber level ability. It would be tough to beat.
Priority or something faster or Shedinja would own it.
-
Nocturnal - The user falls asleep in sunlight, and if the user has a status condition already, the condition is replaced with sleep.
-
Terror gase
makes the opponent uncomfortable and will slowly loose hp and may become confused.
doesn't affect bold/brave natured pokemon.
regret
lowers the opponent's defence/attack everytime the person is hit.
petal dance
grass types get rid of any status problems after battle
-
Aimless Strike - When the 1/3 or less of the Pokemon's HP remains, attack strength is doubled, but accuracy is halved.
A bit like Hustle, but with any attack.
-
Suicidal Blast
If an attack ends up killing the Pokemon that used it (e.g. Explosion, or Take Down while on 1HP) then the strength of that attack is doubled (e.g. Explosion goes from 250 to 500)
That would be really broken with Explosion. When you use Explosion it halves the opponents defense during the attack, so imagine how painful it would be? D:
That would make a STAB'ed Suicidal Blast Explosion 4000 base power.
could anything survive that? ( excloding ghosts).
-
That would make a STAB'ed Suicidal Blast Explosion 4000 base power.
It would be 2000 base power, as it would be 250 x 2 (Ability) x 2 (Defense drop) x 2 (STAB) = 2000
Still powerful though.
-
Refuge or not
when at 1/3% hp it either does 90% dmg or 130% dmg when attacking.
(random affect)
-
Full Range: When the opponent uses Dig/Fly, the pokemon's attack will still hit.
-
Apathy
Three effects:
Effect One: When the user is struck with Attract, Captivate, Fake Tears, or Helping Hand, the user will be unaffected.
Effect Two: Return and Frustration's Attack power will be halved when the user uses them.
Effect Three: When the user uses Fake Tears, the opponents Sp. Def will be lowered by three stages instead of two.
Pretty useful at times. Effect Two is probably the best part of the ability for capturing Pokemon.
-
Hasty
Any two-turn moves used is played out on the first turn. This doesn't affect Hyper Beam and the like, so a turn will still be missed afterwards.
-
Reflection
Any status drops suffered by this Pokémon are automatically passed onto the opponent (includes drops caused by Intimidate, etc.).
Resolute
As HP drops to 50%, Def and Sp. Def are raised by one stage. When HP reaches 25%, they increase another stage.
-
Special Shield
Any stat-ups you use that include Defence, Sp.Defence or HP are doubled.
-
Royal Guard
This Pokemon is immune to all status conditions (including Confusion).
-
grass blade icreases yourgrass atacks but weakens damage by fire type icreases all other weakneses
-
Caterpillar Tracks
Restores health when switching a Pokemon with this ability into Spikes, Toxic Spikes or Stealth Rock. (e.g. if all three are on the field, they get 12% recovery from Spikes, 12.5% from SRocks, and something like 12.5% for Toxic Spikes.) Would be something that would perhaps reduce the SRock-centric metagame.
Bulldoze
When this Pokemon is brought into battle, all field effects are removed (fog, spikes, SRock, weather.)
Again, something that might make people think twice about using SRocks.
-
i can't be bothered to look through 7 pages of this thread, but here's an idea for an ability I'd like to see:
Magnifying Glass
Much like a Synchronizer, but for IVs :D when you lead this in battle, you either have a 50% chance of finding a pokemon with 1 of the same IVs as you, OR you have a 50% chance of finding something with a max IV in a certain stat (not sure which one though).
Would make breeding and ditto hunting a bit easier ;o
-

What would its in-battle effect be? I know it doesn't need to have one (e.g. Run Away,) but the IV-effect would be so vague for normal players...perhaps something along the lines of copying the foe's stat boosts (e.g. They use Dragon Dance, you get the boost too?) I was thinking double the boost (due to the whole magnifying part) but that could be a bit broken...switch it in against a Nasty Plotting Infernape...buahaha.
Loyalty
In Double Battles, attacks aimed at this Pokemon's partner will have a 50% chance of striking this Pokemon instead.
Something for Gardevoir or Lucario, I thought, considering their protective nature. Could be cool for letting a Slaking set up or something. Quite luck based though. :S
-
Power up
Every time a Pokémon with this ability restores more than 40% of HP (at one time) a random stat is increased.
LOL SPAM RECOVER
Sunblock
All moves that are changed by Sunny day only do their normal things. (Like Solarbeam doesn't attack straight away and fire moves aren't powered up.)
-
Heat Shield
This Pokemon is immune to Ice attacks.
Second Chance
Is revived with 1/16th of Max HP when knock out.
(Now that would be useful.)
-
Supercharge
Every kind of attack on the foe may paralyse it with 20% chance.
Time to Think
Two-turn attack has 10% more power. (E.g. Dive, Fly, Sky Attack, etc...)
Steam
A water-type attack may cause a burn with 10% chance.
Take 20 Paces
Attacks that take priority (E.g. Quick Attack, Bullet Punch, etc...) have increased power (10%), never miss, and negated Detect, Protect, Reflect and Light Screen.
Alarm Clock
Wakens immediately from Sleep.
Red-Dot Sight
Negates evasiveness changes by the opponent.
-
Aerodynamics
Flying-type attacks to 15% more damage.
Haste
On the first turn, the Pokemon which has this ability will always go first. If two Pokemon have this ability, then it will be judged by Base Speed.
-
Defensive tactics
The pokemon is knowledgeable in defensive combat tactics and maneuvers, making the users defense, special defense, and evasion all effectively one stage higher. In doubles, it affects both the pokemon with the ability, and it's partner(s).
-
Fury
[Pokemon]'s Attack and Sp. Attack stats rise one stage each turn in battle.
-
Double Time
All moves have 25% chance to hit twice
(Imagine Frenzy Plant/ Blast Burn/ Hydro Cannon)
-
Self-Recharge
Reduces Special Attack, but allows moves that need recharging to be used without the need to recharge.
-
Stone Skin
[Pokemon]'s Defense is doubled.
Crystal Scales
This Pokemon does not take damage from attacks with Base Powers over 100.
Man, that would be awesome on a Milotic or something.
-
Invisible: Cannot be hit unless opponent uses foresight, etc. or is holding a glasses item or something else along the same lines.
-
Aura storm
ups the power of aura sphere in a pinch
this what lucarios ability should been!!!
(btw I just copied it off of super smash bros brawl)
-
Bulky Attack
If the move the Pokemon with this ability is a Fighting type move, it's damage is increased by 20% and also sharply raises the Pokemon's stats. And heals some HP.
(this is good if your Pokemon is on red HP)
I hope this is good!
-
Dr. Ghost, does that sharply raise all of it's stats, and how much HP? And do you have to use a fighting move at 20% to activate it?
Diplomatic Immunity
The pokemon is not affected by the move judgement.
-
Wave turbine
When a Pokémon with Wave turbine is hit by a water move, it takes no damage and it's speed is sharply raised.
HYDROELECTRICITY FTW.
-
I've thought of a couple
Pleasant
Attack and SP. Attack is increased by 30% when the pokemon is happy
Spiteful
Attack and Sp.Attack is increased by 30% when pokemon is unhappy.
meant to be for two pokemon i thought up of.
-
Deathroller
Biting attacks may be repeated from two to five times in a row. (like Fury Swipes)
-
Wait for Me!
If any pokemon on the battlefield uses U-Turn or switches out this pokemon must switch out next turn
Can't Decide
The pokemon with this ability has no typing, its type is the type of the move it used last
Stalker
When the opponent uses Fly, Dig e.t.c. the pokemon can still attack
-
Useless: This ability does absolutely nothing. (would be a good ability for Magikarp)
Metabolism: Healing items like Potions, Berries, and held items like Leftovers restore twice as much health for the Pokémon: however, when this Pokémon is attacked by Poison-type attacks they do twice as much damage, and so does the Poison status effect.
Cold Shoulder: Other Pokémon have a chance of freezing on contact.
-
Fluctuate-This pokemon's ability randomly changes upon entering a battle to anything equal to or lower than its 'real' level. Ash's pikachu has this.
-
Lecture
Other pokemon have a chance of falling to sleep on contact
-
Winged Hover
This pokémon uses its wings to evade all ground type attacks. Solution to the poison-bug problem
-
SUPERAWESOMEABILITYOFDOOM!
Does... nothing.
Boringness
Makes enemy have a 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999 percent chance of falling asleep when this pokemon enters battle.
ZZZ...
Your Pokemon falls asleep on entering battle, but Snore can hit Ghosts and has 250 base power!
-
superabilityofawesomeness, though a great title, doesn't fit in the gap
-
A lot of these abilities either suck or are just plain broken.
Some are good though.
Brace
If the ability holder takes direct damage (i.e. from an attack) when they switch in, they get a +1 Speed boost.
Homeostasis
Doubles the effect of all healing (move or item) but also doubles the effect of all indirect damage (end-of turn damage etc.).
Overdrive
Basically Expert Belt as an ability instead of an item.
(sorry for using MS Excel format for this one)
Crash
When switching in (of any sort), damage is calculated based on the following.
=IF(User Speed > Foe Speed)
VTrue = Foe Damage = (User Speed - Foe Speed) / Foe Total HP
VFalse = User Damage = (Foe Speed - User Speed) / User Remaining HP
Strike Back
If the user was hit with a Super Effective move this turn, the next move the user makes has x2 Damage.
-
superabilityofawesomeness, though a great title, doesn't fit in the gap
A. It's SUPERAWESOMEABILITYOFDOOM!
B. It'll use this marquee.
-
This could be deadly.
Interception
When the opponent switches out against the ability holder, the opponent takes 30% of damage.
If the opponent switches out just as the ability holder switches in, the opponent takes 75% of damage.
Heat Sink
The ability holder restores up to 25% of its health if hit with a Fire attack.
Bullet Time
The ability holder always moves last, but takes no damage from moves that are Neutral Effective or more.
Duality
All attacks have 1.5x more Base Power but if the attack is less than x2 Effective (neutral or not very), the user takes 50% of damage inflicted.
Cryogenesis
Any Ice-type move used has a 100% chance of Freezing the foe, but have 20% less Accuracy and Base Power.
-
Inner Flame
If a Fire-type move burns the foe, the foe loses 25% of it's health each turn.
-
Fighting Spirit
Everytime the pokémon KOs another pokémon it sharply raises attk and sp. attk
Tactician
The pokémon raises its defence and sp. defence every 2 turns in battle
-
Wrath
If the user is hit with a physical attack, it's Attack and Sp.Atk are sharply raised.
If the user is hit with a special attack, it's Attack and Sp.Atk are sharply dropped.
-
Nerd
When faced with super-tough pokemon, the user's status immediately becomes "Follow Me." Only works in double battles.

Hey, do you mind not quoting so much? You could have just quoted the bits you wanted to comment on, and the way you are doing it makes everything harder to read. Thanks

Hey, do you mind not quoting so much? You could have just quoted the bits you wanted to comment on, and the way you are doing it makes everything harder to read. Thanks

Sympathy
Whenever this Pokemon misses with a move, all its stats are raised 1 stage. The flipside - it includes Accuracy, making it harder to miss.
Works well, however, with Focus Punch.
-
Recoil
Whenever an attack misses, the user loses 10% of the damage that attack would've done.
So basically like Hi Jump Kick, but with every move.
-
Churning Gear
Every move that hits more than once a turn raises its power and accuracy by 20 each time it hits. So if it hits twice it won't miss the second time.

Mental Drain
When the opponent restores their HP using a move, your HP is restored by half of what was restored.
that is sexy. would it be in percentage or in actual hit points?
-
that is sexy. would it be in percentage or in actual hit points?
50% of the HP that was restored would go to you. For example, if a Blissey used Softboiled and restored 350 HP, your HP would be restored by 175 HP. Blissey would still get its 350 HP though.
-
Internet Connection
The pokemon with this ability will do 2x damage with moves that are electric types, steel types, when trick room is active, or when a move that gains STAB from Conversion or Conversion2 is used. Obviously can only be had by Porygon family.
-
Kamikaze
When the Pokemon's HP gets low with a status condition, it automatically faints and transfers some of the damage onto the foe. Items cannot be used on the Pokemon in-battle, also.

-
ive thought up of a good one

-
For one of my Fakemon,Colosaze.

-
Love Lust-All moves known by the pokemon are boosted by 2.0x,But there will be a 20% chance of being infatuated, regardless of opponent's gender.
-
Reshiram and Zekrom's abilities are lame. Just like Mold Breaker.
Why not improve them?!
Turboblaze=When in red zone or when hit by fire, Reshiram's Fire attacks are stronger, Speed increases by 1 stage and Sp. Attack is increased by 1 stage. Effect is removed if healed/switched.
Teravolt=same thing except Electric and Attack instead of Fire and Sp. Attack.
-
Cold-Hearted: A Jynx line ability that causes the opponent to be frozen if they become infatuated with Jynx. Admittedly, this could be a bit broken, but I want Jynx to be used by someone xD
Pacifist: If the Pokemon has no moves that cause direct damage, the Pokemon receives a 20% boost to Defense and Sp. Defense (could be useful on Shuckle with Toxic, Rest, Sleep Talk and Accupressure or something).
-
How bout, umm
Fist Clench
Clench's your fist to raise Attack every other turn, while losing Special Attack every other turn. And while I'm at it
Meditation
Calm's down and raises Special Attack every other turn, while losing Attack every other turn.
-
I've been willing to share this one for a while now.
Echo Location
Pokemon's next move is sure to hit after using a sound-related move.*
Field use: Pokemon appear more frequently in caves, underwater or at dusk when the Pokemon with this ability is in the lead.

*Bug Buzz, Chatter, Grasswhistle, Growl, Heal Bell, Hyper Voice, Metal Sound, Perish Song, Roar, Roar of Time, Sing, Sonicboom, Supersonic, Screech, Snore and Uproar.

When your foe pokemon faints by any of your moves your pokemon gains HP lol idk
-

I made one for a Fake Dark type, Idea has been floating around. Gimmick pokemon though.

Defense - Body changes to resemble Drapion (Claws and "Helmet") Its base Defense becomes 110
Speed - Body Changes to resemble Weevile (Claws and Head feathers) Its speed stat becomes 125
I can find any for Defense/SP defense that is not (Persudo)Legendary.
I need to get to drawing this fakemon and its forms XD
-
Heroic
When in a double/triple battle the Pokemon faints when it's allies reach <10% of their HP but the opponent opposite also faints.
-
Piffle:

((This pokemon ability is mainly for pokemon like Chatot. Piffle means nonsense talk or foolish behavior.))
High-Pitched:
Increases the power of sound-based moves.
Pokemon with ability: Exploud, Venipede, Electrode, Magneton, Plusle.
Essence Swap:
Not-very-effective moves are converted into super-effective moves and super-effective moves are converted into not-very-effective moves for the Pokemon.
Pokemon: Espeon, Shedinja, Siglyph, Unown.
Wing Beat:
Sharply raises Speed every time a Flying move is used.
Pokemon with ability: Yanmega, Swellow, Pidgeotto.
-
Kill Zone
For every KO made, this pokemon who has this ability gains a boost in Attack, Speed and Special Attack. This ability is not reset when the battle ends. (meaning you can get a massive boost with a mon who KO's everything in their path.) However, when you enter a Pemon Center, it is reset. It also doesn't come into play unless the opponent pokemon are the same level or higher, OR are a maximum of five levels below in high level areas.
-
Ginger Roots
Increases the Pokemon's Defense and lowers the foe's critical hit ratio in battle when in combat with a super-effective typed pokemon.
-
Soak: The Pokémon will raise Attack if it is Raining.
-
Pure Steel:Has a 50% chance of being immune to the projectile attack the oppoment is using(for example,Flamethrower can be reflected, but not Psychic.)
-
Pure Steel:Has a 50% chance of being immune to the projectile attack the oppoment is using(for example,Flamethrower can be reflected, but not Psychic.)
Bit over-powered for most Steel-killin' special hitters, but whatever rocks ur boat, I guess.
My ability:
FiyahPowah- Boosts all Fire type moves when at least 1 enemy is NVE or NE against Fire type
(NVE- Not v. Effective. NE- Normal Effectiveness)
Samurott's Dream World ability SINCE SHELL ARMOR SHURKS.
Aqua Blade- All Water and/or Blade-related moves get a 20% boost.
-
Sleight of Hand: If both the user and opponent use Physical attacks in the same turn, the opponent's item will be stolen by the user.
-
Tough Scales: Disables an added effect on a combatant's moves.
For example, Shadow Ball will not be able to lower Special Defense and Crunch will not be able to lower Defense on the pokemon with this ability.
-
Red Flag Tauros-signature ability. Maxes Attack when up against ANY red PKMN, eg. Charmeleon, Groudon, etc.
Can be used several times. Tauros 'calms down' when the red PKMN is withdrawn.
-
Oversize- Owned by large Pokemon. If a Pokemon with half the size of the Pokemon with the ability attacks it, then the attacks power is decreased.
-
Tough Scales: Disables an added effect on a combatant's moves.
For example, Shadow Ball will not be able to lower Special Defense and Crunch will not be able to lower Defense on the pokemon with this ability.
WHy does this ability sound so real?
Daft - Status moves have no effect on this pokemon (except those that cause Paralysis Poison etc)
-
Coward- Negates all partial-trapping moves trapping[/i] effect and all Block variant moves.
Faint-Hearted- Causes Speed, Attack and Sp.Attack to go up by 1 every time a Bug, Ghost, Dark or ???-type move is used on it.
Unlucky- Causes move side-effects to happen 100% of the time on BOTH[/i] parties. Kinda like No Guard, but with move side-effects, not accuracy.
Now, for the one that I, personally, would KILL to have:
Web Connect- Causes player to be able to connect to ANY type of internet source.
I know the last one was stupid, but I WISH I could have that so I could connect to Dream World...
-
That reminds me of something for Porygon:

-
Solid Soul
Sharply raises Attack and Special Attack when the Pokemon is paralyzed.
(Banette, Golurk, Golett, Mienfoo, Rhyperior.)
-

If the both pokemon are in love, this Pokemon strikes with doubled power while curing the foe of infatuation.
Time Freeze
If the foe's Speed stat is increased in battle, this Pokemon's Speed stat increases sharply while the foe's Speed stat is harshly lowered.
-
*rude name* Makes foes' Attract only work for their male PKMN. eg. You're Male will only fall in love with another male, same goes for females.
No Special Makes ALL Abilities stop working while the user's in battle. Includes Traced, Role Played, etc.
Berry Power Doubles the effectiveness of ANY Berry, whether in battle or not. eg. Oran=20 HP, Kelpsy=Sharply raises happiness but sharply lowers Base Attack, Haban=Sharply weakens Dragon-type moves, etc.

(Blitzle, Roggenrola, Boldore... I'll think of more and update :) )\Edit: Sorry i can't spell the Gen. V names yet XD
-
^
It's Unfezants. Trust me. I've been a PKMN fan since I was five-ish (I don't really remember).
Upgrade Like Download, but for Defence and Sp. Defence. So if the opponent has higher Attack than Sp. Attack, the user's Defence would rise by 1, and vice-versa. BTW, the item is called Up-Grade and not Upgrade. Thus I totally didn't steal the name of the item.
Nerd When the user uses any sound-related moves, eg. Hyper Voice, Supersonic, Growl, etc. the move has a 20% chance of causing sleep, as well as any other effects.
Prior Punch All priority moves have a boost in power and priority. So Mach Punch is 40 Base Power and Priority 2, Extremespeed 160 BP and Priority 3, etc.
^Limited by the number of PKMN with it, and by the chance of getting it on the PKMN which is 1/4096.
-

Yes, because the length of time you have been a Pokémon fan for affects your ability to remember names that came out less than a year ago.
-

(For example, if the Pokemon with this ability used Draco Meteor, it would get its special attack stat back to normal at the end of the turn. Though if a Pokemon with this ability used Swords dance, It's attack stat would drop again at the end of the turn.)
Honesty: A Pokemon with this ability is able to attack through subs and also to make the ability Illusion void.
Nectar: A Pokemon with this ability gains a double boost when a berry is used.

-
Theft: Prevents the opponent from attacking after a dark type move has been used.
-

I just meant that I always find out PKMN names, regardless of date of creation, and store them into my long-term memory...
-

...What if two pokemon with this ability were out in a doubel battle? You'd end up with a paradox in which Skill Break is cancelled out, and so it can't be cancelling the other out, which means that one must cancel out the first, but as this is happening on both sides it would be an endless cycle.
SB1 cancels out SB2, and the reverse is true also
SB2, therefore, cannot be cancelling out SB1, the reverse being true also
So the fact they cancel the other out means they can't be cancelling the other out xD

In theory maybe, but abilities don't take effect simultaneously. I don't know what decides the order, I suppose speed. If so, simply the faster pokémon, or whichever rolls better in the case of a speed tie, will activate the ability, and no further abilities will activate.
Probably.

Abilities such as Forewarn, Anticipation, and Frisk do not take effect on Pokemon with this Ability. Conceal also omits text that would reveal the identity of an item, such as holding an Air Balloon. Knock Off functions normally against a Pokemon with Conceal, but the item won't be revealed after it's knocked off.
Broken? Heck if I know. I thought of it just now and thought it might be cool.

Metronome as an Ability would allow for the user to cycle through every single Ability in the series since the debut of the concept (besides Trace and Mummy)! Including Wonder Guard! Having an Eelektross with the Metronome to hit Wonder Guard would effectively make him/her invincible, only able to be burned/poisoned/confusehaxed/Cursed!
