Title: IRC: New network
Post by: Joeno on November 20, 2010, 19:28
Right, don't complain me if anything goes wrong here. Connect to irc.synirc.net. Stuff will be updated as I get around to it. Good luck with it.

Oh, and you'll want to use #pkmnteambuilding instead of #teambuilding

Yay! Wait, does the link on the forums to the Java chat link to the new network? Or to the old Storm one? :O

Thanks, Joeno! :D

There right now! Cheers, Jeroen. All the positions need to be re-registered and we need a new, wittier topic when entering the channel (perhaps? lol). =P

Right, apparently the channel didn't register when I told it to, and now there's people idling in the channel so I can't properly register it.

New network forthcoming, please don't join the current one, try to live without chat until I have the time to sort anything out and I don't have these constant headaches to deal with.

synirc (irc.synirc.org) is a good network if you want to check it out

might be a stupid question, but did you register your nickname before you registered the channel?

Yes. And several other channels that I registered actually were registered. Just this one disappearing.

And as said, no way to undo it due to several people idling, going to bed and not responding.

Will give it a go another time.

i guarantee you, synirc will not fail.  i've been on it for years and not only have the operators been reliable and nice, but they always announced when services would go down and they know very well what they're doing.

^ Have you ever tried using mibbit? (http://02.chat.mibbit.com/) When you open it up, click the server part and put in "irc.synirc.net" and then put your nick in the box as well as the channel #pkmn.net. That should work.

If it doesn't then I'm not too sure what to do.

1. go to mibbit (http://www.mibbit.com/)
2. click on "launch mibbit webchat". stuff loads.
3. in the top box where it says "IRC:" scroll down to "SynIRC [webchat]
4. in the boxes below type your nickname, and the channel: #pkmn.net (include the #)
5. GO.
