I have to admit, when it came to making a computer game, I had assumed that the great Name Rater in the sky had magically brought it into existance in seven days. I was wrong.
Turns out that it takes a lot of work and dedication to get in running over a few years. Who would have thought (thought it's not beyond me to admit this might be the mechanism used by the Name Rater)?
Well, turns out that when I'm not Phil, hidden admin of DOOM, I'm Phil, studenty-type at the University of the West of Scotland's Computer Games Technology course. In my second year, I've been subjected to a large amount of the industry's multifaceted tomfoolery, which I now jab you with like a slightly dense Professor's Aide.
In the coming episodes, I go back over the last three semesters, discussing some of the projects, classes and even programs you could use to become the next Satoshi Tajiri (crawling through the mud and bugs optional).
