Meowth, began his life as just an ordinary Meowth, struggling to survive in a gang of street Meowths, stealing food from restaurants etc. However, he met a female Meowth one day, named Meowsie, but she was way out of his league. She belonged to an extremely wealthy Pokémon trainer, who wanted only to best for her precious Pokémon, and Meowsie therefore, had no interest in poor Meowth. In an attempt to impress Meowsie, Meowth began to teach himself "human talk", in an attempt to make Meowsie believe he was better than the ordinary Meowths. But, his plan backfired, as Meowsie now believed he was a "freak Meowth" because of his new found vocal skills. Devastated, Meowth left the gang, joining Team Rocket, as "rocket" had been the first human worded that had ever escaped his Pokémon mouth.
