He is the Gym leader of Cinnabar Island and lives in the Volcano. He loves telling riddles and has two looks, on the game he is bald and the other one he just looks weird.

He appeared twice in all the episodes. He won the first time and lost the second time against Ash.

He won quite easily and strangely managed to beat Squirtle with a Ninetales, that proves how strong he really is. Although he lost the second time when Ash's Charizard listened to him and finished Blaine's main Pokémon off: Magmar. The gym nearly collapsed later and Ash and co. helped make it not fall. He mainly uses fire Pokémon but has a Rhydon aswell.

Ninetales
Strong, she/he proves it by managing to knock out an equally strong water type; Squirtle.

He has other Pokemon in the game, manga and comics, but we are currently referring to the Animé or the TV show.
