DP Starters Revealed? :: News

Some exciting scans have turned up that apparently show what the new starting Pokémon in the fourthcoming DS game, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, will look like.

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER!

These could be a load of rubbish- they could be as authentic as that plush Pikachu toy you won from a seaside pier, that has three eyes and syringes protruding from it. We think that they are real- at least they look the business... but it could be a damn good fake. Don't blame us when you power up your new copy of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and find that the starting Pokémon are actually Magikarp, Voltorb and a hybrid of the two.

Anyway, this is very exciting if it is real, look at this lot:

Look! At the top left! If it ain't broke, don't fix it... once again we have a fire, water and grass type starter. The little fire monkey thing looks excellent.

The people over on the forums are under the impression that the names are Naetoru (the grass one), Hikozaru (fire), and Pocchama (water). Of course, because I can't read foreign, the pictures could be surrounded by the most obscene of swear words, but I'd be oblivious.

Here's the other side on the double page spread. I'm liking that Electabuzz evolution, as like me it has a beard and short stubby fingers.

Word on the street is that contests will be making a return for DP, after being notably absent in FRLG.

C'mon guys- do what you do best and post comments wildly speculating! I bet that tree on the grass starter's head grows bigger when it evolves.
