Football League is for proper football fans, not the Sky Sports generation. Premier League was founded on making as much money as possible.

Just casual observations

no

I mean, I do agree that the commercialised nature of the Premier League (and a lot for the bigger clubs around the world) can be somewhat crippling towards the sport as a whole (in a domestic perspective) but it's still not detrimental to the point where the football itself is tarnished; the ability of the footballers at that level is much better and it should be respected for that.

inb4 end of season drama
inb4 diving is damaging the game (even happens at the lower levels unfortunately)

all of it's football, tbh to be a proper fan you can appreciate all the levels and not claim any sort is worse because of the financial situations. The football at the top level is the pinnacle even with its flaws outside of what's on the pitch.

As much as I'd love to play up to the paradigm that the football league is for the proper supporters, I can't help but feel it gets used condescendingly by the fans of the smaller clubs, intentionally so as well, in the same way that fans of football get patronised by those who don't follow the sport; "oh, football, heh". We get that you support a side that isn't winning everything, that isn't highlighted in every news broadcast, but that doesn't make you any greater of a fan to your side than I can be to mine. The wonderful thing about the sport is that it can be followed in so many different sports, but we're all part of the same cause.

Any 'supporter' who peers down their nose at the lower leagues as though they're just cute, pretenders, are superficial and not true supporters of the sport. But I usually find it's usually those who latch onto trends who are the worst for it, supporting whoever is the 'in-thing' at the time, Barcelona one season then Real Madrid the next. Casuals, although that does no justice to the term casuals. You'll always find a minority in every majority.

Phew, Stoke nicking a point from Hull (controversially apparently but idk it's a point for us). Spurs did a pretty sweet job of taking QPR apart (Eric Dier can't be a defender surely!).

Angel di Maria is on the verge of going to Man United as well...

I would have stayed at Real to be honest. At least I'd be getting Champions League football.

I dunno, if you're an elite player and there's been someone brought in who's pretty much guaranteed to start in your position you're really gonna want to move on and, regardless of how good the team is, Man Utd are still probably the second biggest club in the world. It's a bit of a rebuild job but the lure of joining such a massive team is there, plus ££££££

After last night I reckon he's handed in a transfer request already!

Edit: Rooney is now England captain. Screw this, I'm supporting San Marino...

Comfy win there for us, onto Sunderland away in the next round :D

So, QPR are out but Burton are through, Villa are out but Leyton Orient are through and Man United are out but MK Dons are through amongst others. Great week for Premier League teams [D

Never underestimated it.

Crazy day, Man United and Man City failed to score, Chelsea won 6-3 against Everton...and we actually beat Man City away :0

Never said you did, but too many people think that going up against a L1 team means an automatic win.

To be honest, you can't blame them entirely. Normally the difference in quality makes them seem less likely to win. Of course bigger teams will field weaker sides sometimes...but they'll still field good players.
