Edit: Not wanting to double-post, I've changed my answer.

The song that I'm currently obsessed with is 'Father and Daughter' by Paul Simon. There are two versions, both from the Wild Thornberrys movie, my favorite is the one used in the credits (higher pitch). There's a youtube vid of the music video (with somewhat shaky static, unfortunately) to get the jist of what I mean :)

midtown did a really good cover of that song too. it's the lead singer of cobra starship's old band, he doesn't sound as whiny

Amanda Palmer - Have To Drive (Live with The Danger Ensemble)

OK, mentioning The Danger Ensemble is pointless since they're the stage performers, but this version of the song made me realise how much emotion Amanda packed into it... <3
