If it's to be used in the actual metagame, I strongly advise against Solarbeam. Once it's revealed, it's a free switch for TTar or Politoed to switch the weather, then double-switch to something that'll take the Solarbeam with ease, ruining your weather and momentum. Giga Drain, however, makes TTar and Politoed switch-ins painful. Just my two cents on Lilligant in Sun, but really, it should be considered for every Chlorophyll Pokemon.

So now that I have a Bug parent that has defence, I thought I would finish breeding a dream world Gliscor. I haven't finished yet but this appeared and I was wondering what to do with it as it seems too good to pass up.

Gligar - #207 (Impish) Male (♂) Sand Veil: 31 / 31 / 31 / 17 / 31 / 28

Help would be appreciated =D

Speed is meticulous as a stat, so you may want to try another one.

Speed is meticulous as a stat, so you may want to try another one.

Only when you're using Max Speed EVs, so you can at worst tie with another one, or hit certain numbers. If the difference is minimal, you can always sling some EVs in to compensate at the loss of maybe 1 or 2% bulk.

What set are you going to be running? Either way, I'm positive the majority of Gliscors don't run max Speed, so just take 12 EVs out of Defence and put them into Speed to remedy the loss. That way, you're losing 4 Defence stats at the most at Lv100, which will make probably 1% damage difference if that; neglible difference.

No reason at all why you can't use that. Congratulations. =]

I really have no idea, something like Swords Dance / Earthquake / Ice Fang / ?? , with something instead of toxic orb, probably brightpowder in sandstorm, so that I could get a bit more power behind my attacks.. but otherwise not really sure at all :/

Thanks, I'm glad it's possible to use this one (breeding is being a pain xD;)

I assume this was bred on 5th gen, so you don't have access to Roost... which means Gliscor really won't be the defensive force it could be. Bulky SD with EQ, Ice Fang, SD and Sub is what I'd use with it. Use it in Sand, definitely, since Sub and Sand Veil can do you favors. Leftovers on that as well.

Yeah, it was bred on gen 5, so indeed no Roost unfortunately. But that set sounds great thanks, what EV spread would you run? I know that the standard now for Poison Heal Gliscor is 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd, I assume that's still viable with Leftovers instead of Toxic Orb. But should I take out of Defence or HP to fix the speed? I would have thought Def but I'm not really sure xD;

Edit:

I've now found the Gliscor that I will be using:

Gligar - #207 (Impish) Female (♀) Immunity: 31 / 30 / 31 / 26 / 30 / 31

Planning on either SD / Earthquake / Ice Fang / Protect or Sub / Protect / Toxic / Earthquake

Probably continue breeding so I can have both, also =D=D=D=D

Here's an interesting little Slowpoke:

Slowpoke (Regenerator Ability) - #079 (Bold) Male (♂) : 30 - 31 / 24 - 25 / 6 - 7 / 30 - 31 / 0 - 1 / 0 - 1
UT @ Lv1

The speed IV would make it a perfect Trick Room abuser, and the HP along with the Special Attack is fantastic. However, the SDefence is a let down, as is the Defence.

What do you guys think?

I'd rebreed. The HP, SAtk and Speed are all great but slowbro really wants the defense/special defense.

I'll probably aim for defences in the mid 20's to begin, I guess.

Hmm.. I'm 99.9% certain to use these, they're in my "to EV" pile, but thoughts on the following;

Zoroark
Illusion / Timid Nature [+Spd / -Atk]
31 / 25 / 21 / 29 / 31 / 31
UT @ Lv1
Nasty Plot / Flamethrower / Dark Pulse / Focus Blast

Zoroark
Illusion / Modest [+SAtk / -Atk]
31 / 20 - 23 / 31 / 31 / 14 - 15 / 31
UT @ Lv1
Flamethrower / Dark Pulse / Focus Blast / Grass Knot

Politoed
Drizzle / Timid [+Spd / -Atk]
31 / 29 / 29 / 31 / 22 / 31
UT @ Lv1
Focus Blast / Ice Beam / Hydro Pump / Protect

Oddish
Nature: Impish
Ability: Chlorophyll
28 - 29 / 16 - 17 / 31 / 31 / 31 / 11

Why did it have to be Impish.  D:

Question: Does speed IVs matter when using something that will boost it speed in a weather team even if it is not gonna be EV trained in the stat?
Like if I used this Oddish (which i'm not) and there is sun out, will it outspeed the opponent with the 11 IV speed it has?

I'm new to this whole weather team.

Chlorophyll effectively doubles the Pokemon's Speed. Given that Vileplume and Bellossom both have a horrible base 50 Speed, this means that they will tie with base 100 Speed Pokemon under sunlight. A base 100 with a 12 Speed IV will outspeed that Vileplume/Bellossom under sunlight, and base 100 isn't even that fast in the current metagame.

Politoed
Drizzle / Modest [+SAtk / -Atk]
31 / 19 / 27 / 30 / 31 / 31
UT @ Lv1 / Hidden Power Electric 70
Focus Blast / Ice Beam / Surf / Hidden Power

.. er, yeah, I'm kinda keeping that. <3.

Oddish
Nature: Sassy
Chlorophyll
31 / 30 / 12 / 31 / 31 / 31

Oddish
Nature: Serious
Chlorophyll
31 / 31 / 20 / 31 / 31 / 11

I'm still trying to get a low IV on attack and everything else high on Oddish.
I should breed these two and hope I get what I want.
