because of the recent acts of aggression by students in other schools my school decided to do a lockdown drill. I was in physics doing a lab when the mic came on and they told us all to "get into lockdown positions, this is not a drill"

my teacher joking grabbed the bat and everyone sat down, and talked quietly. a girl sneezed and someone yelled "GODDAMN IT BRIANNE YOU'RE GONNA KILL US ALL" and as we were sitting there playing candy crush, texting, or sleeping, we realized the drill had been like 25 minutes which was unusually long. Right around that point, my friend who follows the police department tells us they found a man wandering our town with a knife and a hammer and linked him to a domestic attack on his mother in salem earlier that day. They brought him into custody but didn't really have any details. Then next period, all of the rumors starting, the most prevalent one being that he graduated from here.

... then next period I learned he hadn't graduated, he was a senior, and he was a good friend of mine in the 8th grade. my entire class was shocked. he was one of those kids that was really likeable and cute, but he just sort of fell off the radar somewhere along sophomore year. dropped out or something, maybe, he wasn't too bright. but i guess he was off critically injuring his own mother, probably doped up on some hard drugs.

6th Form closed changing options a month a go and I've only just decided I don't want to do it any more... why? Because we have to do Stalk and Slash.

Stalk and Slash films are basically horror films where people are sought out and killed.

I am extremely squeamish. I AM BEING FORCED TO WATCH THINGS THAT MAKE ME FEEL SICK FOR AN A LEVEL. We watched a trailer for one of them before half term (I can't remember it's name) and I had to leave the room because I was crying. THIS WAS A TRAILER.

I have no idea how I am going to cope...

Edit: Can anyone think of a stalk and slash film that I might be able to deal with? I have Sweeney Todd down as one I can deal with, but I still have to look away during some of the violent parts (see Judge Turpin's death and the deaths during the reprise of Johanna)

The problem was, they hadn't picked the genre until we started the course (as the teachers were allowed to pick them) and they're making everyone do stalk and slash because it's "the easiest"

here's the thing -- nobody took it seriously. our lights got shut off and the blinds got put down, but we didnt have anything to block the classroom windows with. we could hear rooms over talking. nobody cares because they dont believe that our high school could ever be attacked. and administration has said things werent a drill before and don't acknowledge its a drill, so we thought it was actually a drill and they were trying to dupe us.

the events left me kind of frightened for the security of my own school.
