Got the A-OK from mum. I'll be back in England for sometime round a week before the meet, so I can go.

Now to discuss with Alex and Leon about travel arrangements. I assume Ms. Kay is accompanying Alex.
Hmmm, this gives us something to talk about tomorrow!
I think Kay will be going with Alex.
We'll have to discuss this, don't let me forget!

I'm not 16, but my parents would allow me to go, I've been out on my own in similar situations if not more dangerous. I'm sure I can handle myself. I understand if you still won't allow me to go, but I am appealing that I should be allowed to go as I believe I am responsible enough.

Enough not to be hit by another car >_>

We have to draw a line somewhere, and we're honestly not interested in looking around for all sorts of exceptions. Even if you say you can take care of yourself, we are still given an amount of responsibility we don't want - and yes, that can very likely extend to us legally as well. And you don't even actively have to work towards something to happen, it can be completely accidental and still mess us up.

We have to set a limit somewhere, it's 16, and if we would allow all sorts of exceptions for it, the limit becomes meaningless.

Why can't there be an American PKMN.NET meet?!

OK, fine; I'll organize my own. Everyone come to my house next month; the beer is free! 8D

Why can't there be an American PKMN.NET meet?!
Because its unrealistic...I mean...if you compare America to the UK...1. How on earth would the site plan where the meet will take place... 2. How many people would travel half way across America to meet a group of people for a day....not many... =p
Yes.

I think the point that Latias Tamer is trying to put across is that because the majority of the administrators and moderators live in the UK, Jeroen aside, then it makes sense to have the meet in the UK. Not only that, the meet is made possible by the admins being in London at a certain time, hence rather than them spend even more money, they say "Look, we're here, if you want an official meeting then fair enough". Asking for them to fly halfway across the world to host an official meet is not plausible, unfortunately.

It turns out that i should be able to go this time, provided my flight from Greece isn't delayed by like... a day. As bad as Thomas Cook are, i should be okay to come provided the info about meeting times and places comes out soon so i can sort train tickets out and so on =]

a) I thought the point that the majority of the audience here is of UK origin, the administration and moderation team are all accessible to London easily, and so on, wasn't made clear in his post.
b) What Latias Tamer said.
