3226.

3225. Well that sounds fair, Dick.

I'm using dirty tactics, to be fair. I used Quick Claw low sweep, then salamence used dragon claw, then gets KOd, I revive him, and repeat until Reshiram dies.

3224. The thing is, a lot of the real meaning to Harry potter is the sort of person everyone should strive to be like, it also mentions things you must eventually accept about yourself. For example the quote I used up there.

Also.

Flitwick = M1 Junction
Sirius = Brightest star
Bellatrix = Another star

There are more, but that's all I can remember atm

3227.

J.K.R Likes collecting unusual names, it's not like she isn't allowed to use the name of a place for a character. She also likes for the names to be a little ironic Sirius is part of the great dog constellation and Sirius is an animagus and can turn into a big black dog (most of the other names have similar irony.)

Also, Sirius, Bellatrix, Regulus, Narcissa  & The rest of the Black family are all named after stars because it is supposed to be a sort of tradition.

Would anyone be half as interested in the book if the were all named Steve, Bill, Mary and Sue? No they would notbe.

3228. I would, because it would be much more realistic.

How many people do you know called Sirius?

3229. Do you know many wizards?

3230. No, but that is essential to the story. A book about wizards without the wizards would be rather boring, a book about wizards with realistic names, less so.

Does that even make sense? How can you have a book about wizards without wizards.

"My name is Harry Potter my godfather is an animagus called Larry, the headmaster of my wizard school is Professor Smith, the evil wizard who threatens my life is called Steve Potts"

That would not be nearly as good a book.

3232. Any names worded like that would be bad, that's the way you've worded the sentence. But anyway, arguing isnt going to get me to like the series, nor will it get you to dislike them, so really the whole exercise is rather pointless.

3233. Maybe you should shut up now and accept that you will never be considered British. Ever.

3233. Maybe you should shut up now and accept that you will never be considered sane. Ever.

I fixed it for you.

3235. Sniped.
 Nye, I can live with not being British.

But anyway, Tea is the deciding factor of Britishness. Not some random kid who can somehow beat an evil dark lord because he has morals.

3236. Thanks, Nath. You're a star  ^.^

Actually its because of a prophecy that was made about him.

That's even worse...

'My magical crystal ball predicts that random kid will kill the evil lord who is able to take over the world'

Why is this reminiscent of Pokémon?

3237. It's not like that. She doesn't use her crystal ball. All the crystal ball stuff etc. as seen through most of the characters eyes, is complete rubbish. When we see the prophecy it's like Trelawney is possessed. After prophesying Trelawney does not know what has happened.

It's also because Harry is a horcrux so he can't actually die unless the horcrux inside him is destroyed. :-)

The crystal ball wasnt really the main point though.

But anyway, I used to think the books were ok, mainly when I was about 8-9 I liked them, but then I just found the stories ridiculous. It's not really an insult to those books in particular though, there are very few books I like at the moment.
