Pokemon pronunciations Q&A
« on: October 05, 2016, 20:55 »
Is there something in pokemon you don't know how to pronounce? You can ask about it and get an awnser.

How do you pronounce Xatu??? I've been wondering for a while!

It's Zaah-too. Plenty of sources have pronounced it that way. It's one of the least disputed Pokémon names out there. Rayquaza and Arceus are two of the worst ones to try and figure out how their names are pronounced. Rayquaza has three versions and Arceus I think has up to six different ones.

Suicunes always confused me. I dont remember how they pronounced it in the anime, but i seem to remember it being different than the way i pronounce it.

Rayquaza = Ray-Kway-Za

Arceus = Ark-ee-us

Suicune = swee-coon?

^that's how the anime pronounces it!

Yeah, i usually pronounce them soo-wee-coon, ray-kwa-za and ark-ay-uss, so im probably horribly wrong on all three accounts. Then again, i wouldnt really call the anime the "official" pronunciations.
