My Uber Squad
Created by shiroken
Using this squad, I was able to beat Red in the original Pokemon Silver without a single Pokemon higher than level 68. Each one has a normal-type move and among all of them every type (except perhaps Bug) is represented in their attacks.
Holding Nevermeltice
Moves:
She is primarily used when I need a Water- or Ice-type move. As such, she holds Nevermeltice to boost the type that she isn't.
Holding Metal Coat
Moves:
Pidgeot has always been a reliable fallback for me, though much of that attachment probably lies in the fact that it was my best in Yellow-the first game i played. When I got to the E4 in it, Pidgeot was Lv. 98 and my second highest was a Lv. 30 Lapras... ^^' Wing Attack is back-up for when I need to use a Flying-type move quickly, but usually Fly is fine.
Holding Soft Sand
Moves:
Ninetales has always been my favourite. There are probably better choices to fill its niche, but... ^^'
Holding Black Belt
Moves:
Does what he does best. Brute force. In Gen III games, I switch out Headbutt or one of the Fighting-type moves for Rock Tomb/Slide.
Holding Spell Tag
Moves:
Probably my weakest link as far as type variety goes, but a very effective one in the right situation.
Moves:
Or I'll switch Victreebell with a Lanturn.

Also, Shiroken couldn't get anything better than Headbutt, because, again, this a Gen ll team. I know its a Gen 2 game but if you want to post it on a website that is primarily focused upon compeitive battling and the newer gen's then you need to say at the very beginning AND you cant then suggest some gen 3 moves (look at Machamps description). Plus Headbutt was still a bad move to teach it, should have taught it Fire Punch/Ice Punch/Thunder Punch/Theif/even Hyper Beam but you shouldnt go for head butt. Lolman-
1st part, what the heck.He clearly put POKEMON SILVER at the start.Plus, now I've re-read it,you're just saying soemthing at yourself.
2nd part,you DON'T make the rules
3rd part, ever heard of being new/not knowing/having no guide?Think.Plus,it's convinient,as he can fill his pomkedex quicker. Alright, movesets for Gen II pokemon... no Abilities or EVs or Split Physical/ Special moves. Let's see what we can do:
1) First of all, you have varied typings, whihc is good. Defensively, it looks like you just no more than 2 pokemon being weak to any type of move (Psychic, Rock, Ice, and Electricity). That's not bad... but Pidgeot is weak to 3 out of those 4. Passing marks here.
2) This is clearly an in-game team (as you stated). If you bring it on-line, it wouldn't fair well at all, being as how you have 6 sweepers, no walls, no support, etc.
3) Movesets:
A) Feraligatr doesn't have the best SpA, but you have it set as mostly a special sweeper. Rock Slide and Earthquake would work well on him. Strength isn't the best move... Return is better if you want to stick to normal.
B) Fly isn't great because it allows for a free switch-in (unless you use a Toxi-Stall method). Wing Attack and Return are your best options for STAB attacks. Steel Wing is alright for coverage, but lacks the power/ Acc that you want. However, Pidgeot is limited offensively, so it'll have to do.
C) Ninetales has Flamethrower and Confuse Ray. I would say to leave these alone. Ninetales doesn't have the best SpA, however. Its best role is status/ annoyer. Hypnosis/ Attract/ Toxic work well here.
D) Machamp- Cross Chomp and EQ are great here if you want an all-out attacker. However, keep Vital Throw if you put Curse into this set (it goes after Roar, so it neutralizes that). HP Bug or Rock Slide also may work.
E) Espeon- Psychic is a move that is a must w/ Espeon with its high SpA. Bite may be the best move remaining. Shadow Ball would be a great move for Espeon if this was a Gen IV/ V team, but Ghost type is Physical here, rendering it useless. Morning Sun is a good bet here. Last move is filler.
F) Victreebel can be used for either Special or physical attacks, so that's a start. Sludge Bomb= great!. POisonPowder isn't as useful as Toxic here. A Sunny Day/Solarbeam combo may work here, although it's defenses and speed say otherwise. HP Fire is a possibility for Steel types.
I hope this helps. There are a lot of ways to go with this, sort of. We are dealing with Gen II, so possibilities are limited.
Huh... I never knew Feraligatr had low SpA... That's kinda odd since its Water though, which is a special type.
Also didn't know Ghost was physical in Gen II... ^^' Huh... I never knew Feraligatr had low SpA... That's kinda odd since its Water though, which is a special type.
Also didn't know Ghost was physical in Gen II... ^^' ^Double-poster much? Also, it's kinda ironic that the creator of this squad didn't know that Feraligatr had low Sp.Attack and that Ghost was Physical... How's it ironic? And obviously the double post was an accident.
I never really looked much at the mechanics at the time (I think I was maybe 11 at the oldest when I made this team), I just used what seemed to work.
