I cant claim to be a devoted fan of hers but I'm still completely shocked by it.

I believe there'll be a little tribute to her in the episode on Saturday, though what that is I don't know.

Most likely an "In memory of" tribute before or after the credits.

That's what I was thinking. Though apprently there's to be a 15-minute tribute aired right after the episode. On CBBC.

There is still time to make amendments to the latter half of the series to make mention the Sarah-Jane should they want to make an in-series tribute to Lis Sladen... though it would have to be inifinitely tasteful.

It's a sad, untimely reminder that while the Doctor may be immortal, those that pay him and his assistants are not. As I read on the BBC news site today, she was only 63... far too early.

Right, click back if you havent seen The Impossible Astronaut, otherwise it be spoilt. Don't say I didnt warn ya.

Well, that was confusing as hell.

Doctor meets up companions, dies, his past self has no idea what happened, they go back in time to 1969 where a little girl who calls the President turns out to be the astronaut, who Amy shoots who just revealed she was pregnant....oh and the aliens.

Yeah, quite hard to judge all that. Here's hoping part 2 resolves some of that...

I have to say, it did manage to thoroughly tie my brain in knots. Was quite good though. Can't wait for next week.

just the right level of ridiculous timey-wimey
love the Silence
think the credits call them The Silent but it's close enough so
do love them though
hope that Amy is pregnant with a silence baby
well, she and River both felt sick after forgetting them, and Rory didn't..?

er
i mean
is it next week yet?

Doctor: I wear a Stetson now, Stetsons are cool.

{offscreen trickshot sends hat flying, camera pans around to the shooter}

River: Hello Sweetie.

Gods I love that woman. between that entrance and the guard at The Vault wetting himself when he saw her start to pack...

crack theory

could the young girl be River?
and she kills the Doctor the first time she meets him?
i don't know how that would work with prison?
but I like my crack theory??

and she wouldn't know that she was going to meet him again afterwards
hence the whole horror over his death and... shooting her child self in the back
because she has issues
never mind i still like it

well i like it more than "the doctor shoots himself" which was my first thought and a bit.. repetitive after The Big Bang with the doctor and his future dead self

or maybe it is River
and there's more than one astronaut and the one which doesn't contain a River kills him

i'll just.. stick with my the Silence impregnation or whatever i was wittering on about
from the look on her face it looked as though she thought she was telling him about his death
with it being "i MUST tell you now"
maybe not

Was the console room that Rory and River were in the same as in The Lodger?
Or is that just "generic spaceship console"?

Some very slight differences, but on the whole they do seem to be the same. Compare The Lodger to The Impossible Astronaut.
