I lurk here like once every couple of months of something just to see how many 2008 people are still here *shrug*

My main priority is coming to terms with my diagnoses, trying to get on disability and overall enjoying my third year as a a neet, all while sitting on the far edge of the pokespe fandom and grumbling over the common ships in my little lint pile of rarepairs.

A heads-up, don't call your Pokémon after what they will do; this is a huge disadvantage for you.

I should have clarified, sorry, I only gave the names there for the purpose of posting in this topic - you know, as a way to better describe what I intended to do. In-battle they won't have nicknames.

Hey look, I found a reason to post on the forums again.
If I mess up in this board/thread somehow please let me know, I'm new to competitive~

Only just picked it up on Pokemon Showdown due to the fact I can't afford a 3DS easily and my old DS Original is lost in the sands of time. TL;DR Showdown will have to do for now.

Rambling aside, here's a basic copypaste of my team so far. Intended for Showdown's XY Battle Spot Singles and/or general use in OU. Most everything is adapted from Smogon's BW and XY entries, with a few being inspired from youtube movesets. Not sure how my resistance/coverage is either.

I guess where I'm trying to go with this is singles over anything, using Breloom to my advantage and leeching health while the opponent is asleep. If they have Overcoat or are otherwise immune to Spore, that's what Froslass and Spikes are for.
I was planning to have Salamence and Arcanine as my defences, backing up Froslass and Breloom respectively. Draco Meteor or Hydro Pump are my intended way of dealing with Talonflame, although I might swap out Fire Blast and Protect for something else to provide better coverage (given Arcanine is my fire-based tank and Breloom already has Protect, which it needs to set up Spore).
Toxicroak's main STAB is Gunk Shot, boosted by Poison Touch. Low Kick is intended for anything big and bulky, although I did consider swapping Froslass for Weavile. Problem there is, I don't have my resistances as a ghost type.
Sylveon is essentially security for Salamence, although could I seriously considered throwing Baton Pass on instead of Calm Mind and making them more of a stat passer. But this doesn't make much sense if both Breloom and Toxicroak are inflicting negative stat changes?

Hoping I explained my ideas well enough. Suggestions for different mon and movesets are appreciated, although I'm definitely hoping to keep Arcanine and Breloom in there.

Gus just reminded me of the time my dad put the ribena next to the chilli sauce in the fridge door. I'm lucky neither of us made the mistake, but the potential was definitely there.

Seems funny that pokemon would release a game about mega evolution and then revert from its digimon-esque concepts back to gen 1 style, but in my own opinion I think it'd be good to find a middle ground somewhere between pikachu/eevee remakes (dedenne, anyone?) and superspecialawesomechocolateyfudge-coatedmegasuperevolutions. Me, personally, I find Gen 3 to have had some of the best designs and would like to see Sugimori experiment with simplicity for a while.

In all seriousness though, I never would have expected such small game mechanics could affect shiny rate. Once I get X/Y I'll probably have to try this out for myself.

Manaphy deserves to be a thing for one reason and I'm pretty sure you all know what that reason is.

Actually, I am quite sad that Megaweavile isn't a thing. That headcrest and those claws could have been used in some pretty amazing design.

I have the habit of making audiovisual soundscapes, patterns and colours in my mind from just about any layer of sound in a music piece. Due to hypersensitivity, too many sounds interfering with each other at once leaves me feeling claustrophobic and drowning in noise.

I have a qualified certificate in Sound Production.

And despite being in the top English class during high school, I still have to count on my fingers.

Few other things I find positively vile include red onion, beetroot slices, molasses/oyster and smokey barbecue sauce. Funny because I actually love regular barbeque sauce to the point I mix it with nearly everything.

I'm not sure how many of you remember me from nearly a decade ago, under a different name per se; but I couldn't let the good old memories die and hey, there's always room for new ones.

So hello again PKMN, the release of X and Y has brought Ayla back and only time will tell if I rise above lurker status and become an active member again. And so be it - the universe throws some weird stuff at you and the least you can do is roll your eyes and laugh awkwardly.
